Chapter 67- Battle for the Bracelets

Time: 19:00

Location: Water Treatment Center

It was quiet as Percival and Lucille walked through the halls of the water Treatment Center. They've done a lot here, fighting Team Meteor, Percival fought against another PULSE, Rescued Amaria, and met Taka. Taka had tried to help the two and Titania as secretly as he could, going as far as giving them the Sapphire Bracelets, only asking for someone to beat him in return… Though no one fought him. Though each had their own thoughts, it was mainly the thought of: If you're going this far to be in the way of Team Meteor, why not just quit already.

"…" Lucille was hesitantly called out to Percival as they walked. "Was that the right decision?"

"I don't know…" Percival sigh, Taka… he wasn't a bad person… but… "Possibly? We already made our decision… so it's too late now."

"I guess…" Lucille nodded along to that. "It… I don't know just forget it…"

"Forget not:" A voice called out to Percival and Lucille making them stop. Look at a shadowy figure, rows of sharp teeth and red eyes. That damn smile…

"Shade…" Percival said looking at the ghostly Ghost-Type Gym leader.

"Forget not: Four screens foretold four souls' fortune forsaken," The red eyes pierced Percival. "For, forsooth, from foreshadowed, only two will be taken."

"…" Percival was stunned. "(Only… two?)"

"What…?" This was Lucille's first-time hearing any of this. Even now, Percival never fully explained what he saw inside Shade's Gym.

The shadowy head twisted and his red eyes landing on Lucille. "Twilight angel, hold well to your plight. light shall meet his sight. Do not contrite his losing fight, as only then will blight return to white."

"Wha… Are you talking about—" Lucille didn't get to finish as the shadow melted into the floor

"Forsooth, forsooth…" Shade's words echoed as he disappeared. "Soon… sleuth… truth…"

With the ominous wording… Shade left. Leaving Percival and Lucille feeling just peachy.

While they were behind Titania, they didn't expect her to head off without them. True with rescuing Amaria, Titania now had access to use Amaria's water Pokémon to climb up the waterfall. Titania no longer needed to rely on the two.

Though Percival and Lucille still wanted to check on Amaria. So, they followed back up the Waterfall just a bit from Fiore Mansion.

"Percival! Lucille!" The two looked back to see a woman with green hair, yellow clothes and yellow pompoms. Following with her was another woman with darker green hair and green clothes, Florina. And with the explosively loud voice, "Hi, how are you, it's totally been like 62 chapters since I saw you two last! How have you been!?" {A/N: just the usual casual character 4th wall break. Nothing to see here.}

"Greetings." Florina in her usual monotone voice also greeted the pair.

"Hello." Percival said to the two surprised.

"Hi." Lucille was also surprised to see them. "Uh… not be rude… but why are you here?"

"We originally flew up here cuz we saw Amy and Tania riding up the waterfall and we were filled with big question marks—" Julia cut off her run-on with a breath. "But seeing you two is like a giant exclamation point so we HAD to come up!"

"Ah… is that so?" Percival was slightly concerned with hat answer.

"Besides Percival! I'm really impressed you made it this far to challenge our sisters cuz like—" Julia took another breath. "Almost nobody even GETS to challenge some of the higher up Leaders cuz so many of the other ones are off hiding in caves or getting chased by evil doctors! Like how is anybody SUPPOSED to handle challenging people like that in the first place? I'm lucky that I'm the first one for most new Trainers!"

"Right…" Percival was rather surprised with how accurate Julia guessed his adventures.

"Indeed." Florina agreed, before switching topics. "Although distant, Ame has been overseeing your endeavors, and will eb modifying procedures and policies as necessary. She has additionally permitted us to deliver this to you."

Handing Percival, a disk, it was a technical Machine. "Oh, for Fly?"

"Correct." Florina affirmed. "Though regulations do allow Teleport as an alternative."

"Either way, you're super gonna need another badgeythingy for that." Julia finished, to use fly one needs thirteen gym Badges. "buuuut I think you can get it from beating Seel."

"Ciel." Florina said the correct pronunciation of Reborn's Flying-Type Gym Leader.

"Riniiii, that's what I said!" Julia said in a whine, before turning back to Percival and Lucille. "Just go beat up wild Seel until one drops a Badge!"

"…" There was a collective sigh from Percival, Lucille and Florina.

While ignoring their distress, Julia changed Topics. "Anyyyywayyy, once you have that, you can come back to the city and say hi sometime! You should SEE what we've done to the place!"

Percival smiled at that, on his way down the waterfall he could only catch a glimpse of the new Grand Staircase. But he knew Adrienn was making a lot of progress restoring the city. "Adrienn must be working hard, isn't xe?"

"Yeah! That old Fairy Gym Leader showed up and was able to rally everyone into helping renovate the city and it's practically EXPLODED with progress!" Julia explained in a happy cheer.

Florina stoned face as usual seemed to twitch. "While several explosions were indeed involved, they were not an intended reconstruction step."

"Theywereme. Oops?" Julia responded with a childish smirk. "But that's not important, because most people survived, probably!"

"…" Percival now seemed genuinely worried about Julia being a Gym Leader.

"…Pause." Florina held up her hand for everyone to stop.

"Huh?" The only one unable to stand still, Julia raced around. "What are we pausing for? Is it a commercial break?" {A/N: …would that even be possible on this site?}

Swish, Swish, Swish…

"Helicopter detected." Florina said pointing to the sky, there was indeed a Helicopter flying by… But having a certain "m" insignia. "Team Meteor confirmed."

"Whaaaat, they're here, too? No way! I'm gonna boomboom their faces off if they try and do anything to Amy and Tania!" Julia said sprinting off to Fiore Mansion.

"This ordeal will not be easily resolved." Florina warned the two. "Ensure your preparations beforehand."

"Guess, we had to deal with this no matter what…" Percival sighed.

"…" Lucille was silent as she stared up at the Helicopter. She could sense it and so could he.

As Percival, Lucille, Florina and Julia rushed into the mansion. Starting preparations for defense. The Helicopter landed on the roof of the building. There were several Meteors about. But ones of major notice were: Solaris, Sirius, Blake, and Nero.

Nero could easily sense his sister on the lower floor of the building. "…"

"The Arial unit is in place." Solaris stated, as he did another person exited the Helicopter.

"Now will be your moment to prove yourself, boy." Sirius warned the newcomer.

"Please. I don't need to prove anything." The boy with green hair responded with a voice filled with confidence. Also snapping at that last part. "And don't call me "boy". The name's Fern. Remember it."

"We'll remember it after you do something worth remembering." The other Meteor admin, Blake responded.

"Guess that means we should forget you after what happened Ametrine." Fern remarked at Blake. Talking about Blake's loss against Percival on that mountain.

"Hah!" Blake laughed with a smile. "Never mind, I like this kid."

"Damn right, you do." Fern said.

"…" Nero rolled his eyes; he most certainly didn't like Fern. But mainly because: a) Nero disliked pretty much everyone. b) fern was also disliked by pretty much everyone.

"Enough." Solaris put an end to that, to restate the objective. "Our objective is to recover the Sapphire Bracelets and withdraw at once. Stop at nothing to achieve our goal. Is this clear?"

"Yeah, yeah, once again we're cleaning up your stupid son's problems." Blake remarked. Getting to the Water Treatment Center, and finding that Taka didn't have the Bracelets… well most weren't happy.

"Rest assured." Solaris glared, despising his son's actions. "His disloyalty will be shortly remedied.

"Speaking of disloyalty, we sure it's fine bringing him along?" Fern spoke up pointing at Nero. Since joining Team Meteor, he certainly had heard about Nero and Lucille being twins. And what happened last time Nero and Lucille were around each other. "I mean he caused—"

"Same could be said to you." Nero in a low growl snapped, "Your sister is right down stairs as well."

"Yeah, but I'm several times stronger than her!" Fern snapped back.

"At least I never lost against Shiro." Nero smirked, for all the talk Fern was. He could never hope to defeat Percival, let alone Nero.

"Why you—"

"Enough." Solaris silenced them. "There is no issue, so for now, we move." Solaris turned to the terrace entrance of the building. "For the purification of our world."

After both Nero and Solaris left, Sirius muttered. "For the creation of a new one. Old fool."

"I dunno how you stand that guy." Blake shook his head at the nonsense Solaris talked about.

"It's no matter." Sirius redirected it. "Let's move"

The fight between Team Meteor and the one's protecting the Sapphire Bracelets had commenced. The side of Percival and Lucille establishing a defense on the upper side of the main room. Right where Amaria's Gym was. Amaria was still unconscious and was left in her bed, protected by Titania. Meanwhile Lucille and Julia took over the management of a side room, try to prevent any from breaking in.

All that left was Percival and Florina guarding the fore-front. Where they just finished off taking down a pair of Meteor Grunts. Even though it was just one pair. Percival's eyes kept glancing between Nero and Solaris. Once they decided to fight, well Percival knew for certain things weren't going to be any easier.

"Enough." There was a shout from the man with one eye. Dragging along a boy with green hair along the floor. "I believe we can end this farce now."

"Hey, let the fuck go of me!" Fern shouted as he was dragged.

"You have got to be kidding me." Percival sighed as he saw this. As he knew from events of Labradorra and Calcenon, that Fern was now siding with Team Meteor.

"What do you think you're doing? Sis, help!" Fern pleaded with the two.

"The Bracelets for his life." Sirius calmly gave them the ultimatum.

"…" There was silence between Percival and Florina. Percival unsure how to call this, what if Fern was just a pawn, they were willing to sacrifice. Florina was also unsure.

"What is your answer, Florina?" Sirius indicated trying to figure out what they'll do.

"Please!" Fern called to the two of them. "You can't just turn your back on me like this!"

"Incorrect." Florina simply stated.

""!"" Two people were silently surprised to see this. One was Percival Florina's ally in this. The other was Nero.

"Wha—" It was almost if strength started to fail Fern's voice. "What are you saying?!"

"My position is unchanged." Florina stated emotionlessly.

"Tch… That's cold, sis." Fern's eyes glared at Florina as Sirius slowly loosed his grip on him. Though that didn't stop Fern's anger. "I mean, I know you're a wannabe robot, but I thought you at least had some feeling left."

"God damn, ladies… Calm the fuck down!" Blake shouted as he burst through the side door to the right of Percival and Florina. Taking out his Walrein. "Seal it, Walrein!" The Walrein froze the doorway over, blocking Lucille and Julia inside. As Blake turned, he was greeted by a boy he certainly didn't want to see. "Oh great. You again."
"Hello," Percival said with a fake smile. "It's so nice to see you again as well."

"Blake. Fern. You will remove this obstacle." Solaris commanded to the two.

"Whatever." Blake rolled his eyes, not particularly excited to fight Percival so soon.

"You got it, boss." Much contrary to Fern's excitement to try and thrash Percival.

""Boss"?" Florina looked at Fern curiously. "Am I correct to conclude that you are following instructions of this group?"

"Yeah, what about it?" Fern scoffed at that. "The whole hostage thing was an act to get a rise out of you. But even aside from that, turns out I'm the most valuable ally they could have. I even gave them the whole layout of this place on the way over. I always hated having to come here with you, but I guess it paid off, huh, Sis?"

"I'm so not going to regret taking you both down." Percival said readying his Pokémon against these two.

"…Understood." Florina muttered. To most people, they didn't notice it. But to someone like Nero, one who goes through his fights, using his opponents' emotions against them… He saw that small flicker in Florina's eyes. But as fast as it came it was also put out. Florina's first Pokémon Hippowdon started to fill the room with sand. "This error shall be remedied at once."

"Bring it on, Flobot. I ain't afraid of you!" Fern said sending out the tusked dragon, Haxorus.

"Well, I think you should be afraid of this one. Vee!" Percival said sending out his Leafeon, vee out first. "Leaf blade into the Walrein first!"

"Vee!" Vee immediately leapt into action, the green leaf atop her head glowing, and slashing down into the Walrein unable to withstand the attack.

"Again?!" Blake shouted in annoyance, even in his last battle. Percival's Leafeon had easily one-shot most of his team. And it seems it was to happen again.

"Tch, your no use. Haxorus, take that damn Leafeon out, Poison jab!" Fern blamed the incompetence of Blake. Where his Haxorus' claw shown a deep purple and swiped at Vee. It was a heavy attack, but nothing that vee couldn't handle.

"Hippowdon, crunch." Florina commanded, and the big hulking hippo had chomped down onto Fern's Haxorus.

"C'mon, get that stupid Leafeon off this field! Weavile!" Blake shouted taking out his next Pokémon out.

"Well, since you asked so nicely! Vee return! Steel!" Percival shouted. Vee returning to her pokeball, getting quickly switched into the hulking metal beast known as Steel. The Metagross. Switching right in time so Vee didn't get hit by an Icicle crash. And the Haxorus' follow-up Poison jab having no effect on Steel either.

"Hippowdon, Rockslide." Florina's Hippowdon not getting attacked at all was strong enough to force another hit on the opposing Pokémon.

"Now Steel quickly Bullet punch!" Percival wasn't giving either Blake or Fern time to recover. As he sent Steel into an attack, instantly taking down Weavile.

That was two down on Blake's side, while Fern's Haxorus was still struggling. "Outrage!"

"Haaax!" The Haxorus went into a furry ramming into Florina's Hippowdon.

"Crunch." Florina affirmed her Hippowdon. Taking out Ferns first Pokémon with this second chomp.

"Are you kidding…" Blake sighed, "Really need to take that damn kid out. Starmie! Blizzard!"

"Mie!" The Starmie cried, spinning its two stars round and round causing a blizzard to appear in the room. Taking down Florina's Hippowdon.

"They'll regret challenging me." Fern said, sending out his Krookodile to the field.

"Guessing we're sacrificing speed here. Steel Hamer Arm!" Percival ordered, and the Hulking beast slammed its arm into the emerging Krookodile. The heaviness of the attack, knocking out the Krookodile instantly, though slowing down Steel's means of attack.

"Analyzing Pokémon, Ferrothorn. Come to aide." Florina calmly stated, even though one of her Pokémon was out, Fern and Blake had 4 Pokémon left each.

"C'mon boy… I'm doing all the work here." Blake made a snide comment to fern. As Blake so far was the only one to take out a Pokémon.

"Hey, they won't beat us!" Fern boasted. Sending out the heavy armored Pokémon known as Rhyperior.

"Either way, thanks for the speed advantage. Starmie, Hail!" Blake called out, changing causing that small time blizzard into an actual flurry of ice.

"Fern, it doesn't matter how solid your Pokémon are. You are unmatched." Percival said, not flinching to the giant Rhyperior. "Steel, Meteor Mash!"

"Meta!" Even with the sluggish movements due to the Hammer arm, it crashed into the Rhyperior mashing it with the metal claws. The stone of the Rhyperior, sharpening the claws of Steel.

"For the love of…" Blake sighed as another one of Fern's Pokémon was taken out.

"Ferrothorn, power whip." Though Blake should have been paying attention so his Pokémon didn't get hit by a super effective attack.

"Pay attention why don'tcha." Fern remarked as now they both had 3 Pokémon each.

"Yeah, yeah. Sandslash get some revenge!" With that hail up, Blake's Sandslash had a blinding amount of speed.

"Roserade Hidden power!" Fern shouted as well.

"Steel Bullet punch!" Percival shouted; he could easily see that this was a focused attack group on him. So, do his best to take out one of the Pokémon. Choosing the one who would be less resistant, Steel chose to attack Roserade. Though the Roserade still struggled through the hit.

The earthquake sending shaking both Steel and Ferrothorn, when the hidden power finished Steel off.

"Heh, shame about your ace." Fern smirked as Steel were taken out.

"Hm… I think it's a shame that your ace is out as well." Percival said as the hailing weather took out Fern's Roserade. Fern silently glared at Percival as such. "…You were saying?"

"Ferrothorn, Gyroball." Florina commanded, where her spikey green and grey Pokémon turning into a top spinning into the Alolan Sandslash. Though not enough to take it out.
"Scizor, your time!" Fern tossed out his next Pokémon.

"No moves to change the weather, right?" Percival glanced to Florina who shook her head no. "Fine, Oracle I know you can take it."

"Delph!" The orange bipedal fox, Delphox. Came to stand on the field holding her wand toward the two Pokémon severely weak to fire.

"Oh, no you don't brat." Blake shouted. "Sandslash, Earthquake!"

"Scizor Bullet Punch." Fern shouted too. The two attacks colliding into Oracle, who was barely able to keep standing.

"Flamethrower." Percival ordered in counter at the Scizor. Instantly melting this bug.

"Gyroball again." Florina followed up this time knocking out the Alolan Sandslash with her spinning Ferrothorn.

"Tch… Let's see that Fox survive this! Gyarados!" Blake shouted taking out his second to last Pokémon.

"Decidueye, Shadow Sneak!" Fern didn't care sending out his last Pokémon for a straight attack at Percival's Delphox. Taking Oracle out of the fight.

"Hey, he was mine!" Blake shouted, in fruited looking at Florina. "Fine then Crunch!"

"GY…Ra!" The Gyarados Screeched as it bit into the sharp points of the iron plant. It was not a pleasant taste for the Pokémon.

"Close range, hard to miss. Power Whip." Florina commanded and with its spikey tendrils the Ferrothorn whipped into the Gyarados.

"Well, don't you both seem angry? Phoebe take some time and help them both chillout, with Blizzard!" Percival yelled, his serpent, Milotic came to the field with a freezing chill as it used the hail to freeze against the Decidueye and Gyarados. Taking them both out.

"Tch… Fuck this." Blake said deciding to not even take out his last Pokémon. No way he could take Percival and a Gym leader on by himself. With only one Pokémon to boot.

"Well, at least you have the right idea." Percival said to Blake. Looking at Fern.

Though it only made Fern snap. "You're gonna regret crossing me—both of you will!"

"Regret is unnecessary." Florina said to her brother. "Contrariwise, your defeat is a marked success. Do consider what procedural mistakes you have committed and remedy them immediately. Specifically, your allegiance to this organization."

"…Shiro certainly has become stronger…" Nero commented in a mutter as he studied Percival's Pokémon.

"Yes, Percival, you certainly have grown." Solaris complimented. "Though I feel that I should have eliminated this obstacle when I had the chance.

"Please, you're giving Whitehall too much credit." Fern blatantly annoyed spat out. Before glaring at his sister. "Look, Sis. I don't know what you think you're accomplishing there, but we're changing the world. And in our New World, guess who's gonna be at the top? Not you, Flobot! You should've turned when you had a chance! We could've done this together! But YOU threw that away! You didn't even care about me!" Fern yelled, shouting feelings he had for a while now. "What if my life really had been in danger, huh? Some sister you are. You really are dead inside. You really are just a stupid robot now, aren't you?"

"Incorrect." Florina responded.

"Isn't that what you wanted to be?!" Fern shouted in anger.

"…Incorrect." It was slight but weakness started in Florina's voice.

"Don't try to lie!" Fern screamed. "You're just weak, so you hide from yourself!"
"(…Not too far off the mark. I'd say.)" Nero thought to himself. Thinking he's done something similar to a level.

"…Incorrect…" The hesitance in Florina's voice started to rise in her voice more.

"And you're not afraid to hurt me if that's what it takes, huh? You're just selfish. And a coward." Fern finished, where Florina couldn't even meet Fern's gaze. Fed up with this all, Fern turned to leave. "Hmph. I'm done here." Looking at his fellow Meteors, "I'll meet up with you guys later. In the meantime, do whatever you want to her. I have no sister anymore."

It was silent room still tense as Fern left the building as that happened. Solaris commanded, though his voice low with anger… "…You heard the boy, remove both of them."

"Seviper, Poison fang!" Sirius commanded sending out his snake for a surprise attack.

"Raven Sucker punch on Shiro." Nero called a follow up attack.
