Ughhh... I have final exams starting next week. I am so unprepared for both them and having prewritten chapters for them... yeah see maybe after Christmas? Eh it should just be about two (Maybe one) weeks without a chapter... Shouldn't be too bad.
Chapter 68- Battle for the Bracelets II
Time: 20:00
Location: Fiore Mansion
"Seviper, Poison fang!" Sirius commanded sending out his snake for a surprise attack.
"Raven Sucker punch on Shiro." Nero called a follow up attack.
Florina who was still distraught of how she was… how she hurt her brother was blind to the venomous purple snake biting into her. Getting pushed back, knocked out in the one hit.
"Mi!" Percival's Milotic, Phoebe reacted at the flying black winged bird flying at Percival jumping in front of the upcoming attack, and firing back with a unleash of icy energy as a blizzard.
"So much for a surprise attack!" the recently defeated Blake snarked at Nero, who's Honchkrow was just one shot.
"Shut up, two zip." Nero angrily yelled back at Blake. Make note of how many losses Blake has had against Percival.
"Enough." Solaris step forward. "I will deal with Percival myself."
"Aw… I'm Honored." Percival said with a strained smile. Even if he managed to beat Solaris, he still had several other Meteors to Fight. While wondering if he should shout to Titania for help there was a loud Crack that echoed through the room.
Crack! Shatter!
"Ka-powww!" Came the defiant scream of a woman with way too much energy. It was the green haired gym Leader Julia. Looking at Blake, the man who froze Julia and Lucille in a separate room. "Hey, you! That wasn't very nice!"
"Holy shit, woman, settled down." Blake jumped out of his skin as he was pushed against a railing. "What the fuck are you on?"
"Coffee!" Julia screamed as she pushed Blake over the railing into the kitchen area.
"Hey, what the fuck!" Blake shouted as he got up from the ground.
"Florina!" Lucille spotted the collapsed woman.
"Rini!" Julia gasped hearing the worry in Lucille's voice seeing her best friend out cold. Rushing to Florina then spinning on a dime glaring at Sirius. "You did this, didn't you!? Electrode, get'em!"
"Bzz-zzT!" The red and white ball quickly appeared discharging a large amount of electricity.
"Gah!" Sirius screamed getting launched back.
Lucille quickly moved between Percival, turning to Julia. "Check on Florina. We'll protect you."
"Thanks…" Julia smiled, moving back to check on Florina.
"Guess, it's my turn then." Nero said with darkened eyes.
"So be it." Solaris agreed. Taking out a Pokémon sending out a metal red armored bug, Scizor.
"Mi…" Phoebe looked around the room glaring.
"Your right girl… Let's not make the same mistakes as last time." Percival carefully looked around trying to spot anything close to the Illusion Specialist of Nero's team.
"Blaze I'm counting on you." Lucille took out her first Pokémon the giant orange dog. A beast powerful enough to once be though as a legendary.
"Arroo!" Blaze the Arcanine let out an intimidating howl, sniffing the air and took a defensive position facing open air.
"Damn… Well, that's a police dog for ya… Hela, Grass knot on the serpent!" Nero called to the open space where the black and red Zoroark appeared from. Razing its arms giant blades of grass emerged from the floor entrapping Phoebe to the ground.
"Blaze Burn them away, Heat Wave!" Lucille commanded, and her Arcanine launched a burning hot wave of heat, melting out the Scizor, and Critically burning into Hela's fur.
"Ar…" Hela cried as she was taken out.
"Nice going, didn't even get a hit in." Percival smirked. It was nice double knockout on Lucille's part.
"…" Though Lucille couldn't say anything as she could only stare at Nero.
"…" Nero glanced away throwing out his next Pokémon, a blue frog with a long tongue. "Izanami, Scald!"
"Ar!" Blaze yelped as the Arcanine was taken out by the scalding stream of water.
"Tyranitar come to my aid." Solaris followed up sending out the giant green rock titan. A stream of sand bursting into the room.
"Return Blaze to her Pokeball." Percival said to Lucille before looking at Phoebe. "Surf!"
"Mi!" Phoebe cried causing a tidal wave to crash down on the Greninja and Tyranitar. Though not it didn't do much to Izanami, and the Tyranitar was able to brute through the blast.
"Tyranitar, Superpower." Solaris coldly ordered, and Phoebe was then suplexed by the hulking green monster.
"…" Percival grimaced as Phoebe was taken out. Glancing toward Lucille's pained face. He knew this wasn't easy for her either. "I know this isn't really what you want, but I don't really think any of us have a say right now. Let's take them down and hopefully do something to capture Nero."
"…" Lucille understood nodding, she had always been taking the fight seriously. But this wasn't the time to hesitate. Lucille flung out her next Pokémon revealing a lar bat with two speaker like ears atop its head. "Aurras, Dragon Pulse!"
"No…NOI!" The Noivern screeched shooting out a purple blast of draconic energy into the Greninja taking out the squishy Pokémon right out.
"Alright Vee, we're on a counter attack. Cut down that Tyranitar with Leaf Blade." Percival took out his small Green leafed Pokémon, Vee the Leafeon.
"Leaf!" Vee cried as she glowed her top leaf a bright green and slashed into Solaris' Tyranitar. Between the crashing wave and the Leaf blade, even with its bulk it stood no chance.
"It seems they both have grown in strength." Solaris noted the growth of not just Percival but also Lucille. "Though it is a shame for the sides they stand. Excadrill, Rock slide."
With the sand storm still raging, the Excadrill easily slid through the rushing sand causing a Rockslide upon Vee and Aurras. "Ex!"
Both the two Pokémon managed to hold on to the attack though Aurras was more heavily damaged than Vee.
"Aurras, Dragon Pulse." Lucille called; she knew that Nero at some point released his next Pokémon but with how the sandstorm raged the only choice was to attack the Excadrill. Though the metal parts of the Excadrill absorbed the pulse greatly.
"Vee, Follow up with Leaf Blade!" Percival yelled out to follow along with the Dragon pulse striking down Solaris' Excadrill.
"Aroo!" There was a howl as Vee was suddenly enveloped with a breath of flames. The howling hound was none other than the dog from Hell. Hades, Nero's Houndoom.
"Tch… Just a few seconds off…" Nero clicked his tongue in annoyance as he missed his target time. If He had just been a few seconds sooner with the attack, Solaris' Excadrill would still be standing.
"Be it as it may, we still must prevail." Solaris sighed; he certainly had underestimated the two. "Mandibuzz."
"Seems more like were taking this battle to the sky huh? Let's go Aeros!" Percival threw out his grey dragon, Aerodactyl to the fight. "Let's try to keep the pace, Rockslide!"
"Aurras, follow up with Dragon Pulse!" Lucille called out to follow through against the Mandibuzz. The two's attack managing to get the buzzard and the hound off of the field.
"Annoying…" Solaris clicked his teeth; the two flying Pokémon on Percival and Lucille's side were troublesome. "Gyarados."
"Gyara!" The Giant blue serpent roared, causing the Aerodactyl and Noivern to flinch back.
"Oh, they are certainly annoying…" Nero groaned. They have certainly grown troublesome. Lucille especially, last time they battled Lucille could barely keep up with Nero. This time however, the roles were certainly swapped. But Nero still had his advantages. "Orcus."
"GRRRR" Came the three headed hydra from Nero's Pokeball. A pseudo legendary, The black and blue Hydreigon.
"…" Lucille bit her lip shuddering at the sight of the beast.
Nero immediately took note of that look of fear in her eyes. But his instincts told him to take advantage of that hesitation. Nero barely realized the words he ordered for his Hydreigon. "Dragon Pulse…"
"Dreii!" Orcus roared unleashing the blast of purplish-blue Draconic energy right at Aurras. Taking down Lucille's dragon instantly.
"Lucille!" Percival shouted trying to wake Her back to reality. Though his eyes still barely on his Aerodactyl.
"Gyarados, Waterfall!" Solaris ordered, and his Gyarados to attack Percival's Pokémon while he was distracted.
"Aeros!" Percival yelled barely looking.
"Aero!" The Aerodactyl cried forming a last-minute Rockslide upon the Gyarados as it was hit with the Waterfall consecutively knocking both Pokémon out.
"Ah…" Lucille snapped back watching as three Pokémon were now knocked out. Percival and Solaris were both on their last Pokémon. Past Nero's Orcus, lied his Pokémon of Grim. Still shaking her breath unsteady. "S-Sorry…"
"It's fine, Artemis has the type advantage against them all currently." Percival smirked, hands on his trusty Gardevoir. "Though they'll most likely target her for it."
"I'm sorry… I'll make it up. I promise." Lucille said, her heart rate was high. But they had to defend their friends.
"I don't doubt that. Now look alive. It's time to take the stage Artemis!" Percival said, revealing his black and red Gardevoir. The Gardevoir gifted to him by his mother, the Gardevoir that originated from the Reborn Region.
"Hope, I call to you." Lucille responded taking out her Absol.
"…" The white fur swaying on her face swaying, Hope giving the creature before her a glare. Though it wasn't the same creature, Hope didn't forgive the species of Hydreigon for what they did to her master, the strife that one caused her master's brother and her own. The anger toward the Hydreigon that took her left eye. A band with a small crystal shone on Hope's Neck.
"…" While not knowing how it exactly worked, Lucille clicked the Mega ring that was bestowed upon her by Luna. Speaking her feelings. "Detesting this fight… this struggle between siblings… I summon all of my strength, please give me the strength to end this fight. Hope take to the Wings of Victory!"
Light enveloped Hoped empowering the powerful Absol Further. Enhancing its abilities, giving birth to wings for this creature. Where upon showing its form. "ABSOL!"
"This is quite unexpected," Solaris remarked upon seeing the Absol Mega Evolve. Though they still had more than enough strength left. "Nero?"
"a few minutes, at best…" Nero muttered. "From anything I can tell this is her first time doing this."
"Then to a battle of attrition," Solaris' eyes changed to seriousness.
"?" Percival was clueless at those words, so was Lucille. All Percival could tell is that they were now going to be on the defensive… Which could mean well for them. As right now, Percival was fighting against two dragons one that was 4 times weak to Fairy types. "Artemis give them a good show with Dazzling Gleam!"
"Gar…de!" Artemis' eyes flashed as a flash of pink blinded the two dragons. The powerful blast knocking down the Hydreigon.
"…Hope Play rough!" Lucille blinked before calling. Hope swiftly moved her eye trained on the Garchomp preparing for what would come. "Left, down... r—block!"
"…" Hope barely dodged the swipes that she and Lucille were predicting. But the speed Hope had was certainly just able to keep up with the dragon. And Hope managed to knock down the Garchomp.
"Tch… should have seen that coming…" Nero clicked, a Hydreigon vs a fairy type that rarely ever went well.
"Your actions are asinine," Solaris said to Lucille and Percival. "But I must respect your abilities."
"Asinine as you say, but to us… it doesn't seem so." Percival countered.
"…" Lucille was silent, she found herself breathing extremely heavy. Hope though she just taken form still just barely keeping hold on it.
"…" Nero wondered what the best move be. Grim might make a difference right now, but… Nero just didn't know.
"Sir!" A Meteor ran into the room from the outside, panic in his voice. "The helicopter has been destroyed!"
"It what?" Solaris asked in surprise.
"What?!" Nero yelled, when the fuck did that happen.
"Onto victory, we will zoom, cuz I made that thing go boom, boom, boom!" Julia cheered.
"Why do you think it took so long to break that ice…" Lucille chuckled as that was finally reported.
"…Florina." Titania fed up with all the noisy battling had exited the room with Amaria resting to check on everyone. Only to see that Florina was unconscious. Glaring at the Meteors. "Nothing's happening in there, and I've heard too much ruckus to keep on waiting. Let's knock some skulls."
"Sirius." Solaris called.
"Yes, sir." Sirius stood, recovered from the discharge from Julia's Electrode.
"This group has established a formidable defense." Solaris stated.
"They have." Sirius agreed.
"I do not believe we will be able to break past it." Solaris explained. "Therefore, let us inspire them to break it for us."
"Understood, sir." Sirius said with a sinister smile.
"Like that's gonna happen." Titania called to them. At least two people here right now couldn't move, and they weren't just about to abandon their advantageous high ground.
"Indeed, it is your choice. You can leave and scatter yourselves…" Sirius agreed with their thinking, but took out his Chandelier Pokémon. "…Or you can burn to death here. Chandelure."
"Chande…" The Chandelure said preparing a blast of fire.
"Funny. This will be the second house I've had burned down for the sake of these Bracelets. Incinerate it." Sirius laughed wickedly.
"*What…*" Nero first ever hearing of this event was surprised.
"Yeah, well. I bet that last house didn't happen to have a built-in Water Gym." Titania countered taking out her Excadrill to the field. "Excadrill! Fissure!"
"Exca!" The Excadrill emerged and plunged its claws into the wooden floor and the house shook. A large crack forming into the floor, before water gushed out and flooded into the Living room. Leaving Titania, Florina, Julia, Percival and Lucile on the upper floor clear.
Though that couldn't be said for the flooded Group of Meteors. Washed up over to the other side of the room where by the entrance.
"…That was fun…" Nero growled to himself before looking at the pained face of Solaris. "…Solaris?"
"I am unharmed, if drenched." Solaris was clearly annoyed. "But I am pained. I am pained at the disgraceful performance our team has displayed today." Solaris took steps toward the exit muttering. "Hmm... I hesitate to involve Lin, but I do not see another option. Very well. Team Meteor, we will retreat, for today."
"Aaaand we're hoofin' it. Great." Blake complained after such a wonderful loss.
"No complaints from you today." Nero complained back as this
Looking back at the ones who were defending the mansion. Seeing Solaris and everyone leave was somewhat relaxing. Though it wasn't exactly as everything went to plan, they still survived.
"Hah… hah…" Lucille was breathing as she nearly toppled into the now flooded living room as Hope reverted to her natural form. A small stream of blood from Lucille's nose.
"Lucille…" Percival was surprised and tried to help her,
Though Lucille made herself drop in a way that wouldn't hurt her. Though it was one battle, her first time mega evolving her Absol, she was absolutely exhausted. No pun intended. Wiping the small bit of blood away. "…So that's… why… a few… minutes…" Lucille still struggled to breathe utterly exhausted, feeling she ran a whole marathon. She looked at everyone. "I'm fine… just exhausted… How's Florina?"
"Yeah, is Rini gonna be, okay?" Julia asked with worry in her voice.
"…Hm." Titania pondered as she reached to try and check on Florina. Finding it may not be serious. "Normally, I would say "Yes." But Florinia has a history of being more greatly affected by things than she needs to."
"Would you stop it already?!" Julia snapped, giving Percival and Lucille the know that there was more to Florina's robotic personality than said. And again, being revolved around Titania.
"I will when she does." Titania responded coldly.
"In case you didn't notice, it's NORMAL for people to be hurt when their friend blows up on them!" Julia snapped at Titania again. "She trusted you, and you betrayed her!"
"It seems to be a recurring theme lately." Titania muttered to herself, understanding that she causes a lot of problems herself.
"Hey, what's with all the yelling…?" There was a slightly weak voice, of a blue haired woman who just woke up.
"Amy!" Julia jumped in excitement seeing her friend Amaria up and about. "You're awake!"
"Huh?" Amaria waved at Julia with a smile before noticing the fissure in the floor and seeing the flooded living room. "What happened here…?"
"We're, uh… redecorating." Titania lied, feeling like this was hard to explain.
"Oh…" Amaria pondered before breaking into a smile, that Titania didn't think she'd see. "Wow, I like it!" Amaria turned back, now noticing Percival and Lucille among the people here. "Oh, and who's out guests?"
"Guests?" Titania raised an eye brow, pointing at the two trainers. "…You mean Lucille and Percival?"
"Oh, well, it's very nice to meet the two of you!" Amaria said with a bright smile, acting as though she never met the two before.
"…" Percival and Lucille shared a questioning look. Almost as if they could tell, what each other were thinking. "(is this really happening?)" "(Oh, I think it is, and I certainly don't like it one bit.)"
"Huh, you guys hadn't met already?" Julia looked the most confused out of everyone here.
"I don't think so…" Amaria said trying to draw upon the two. "No, why?"
"I… I guess I just assumed…" Julia blinked, kinda confused still.
"Amaria." Titania said, a slight shake in her voice.
"Yes?" Amaria looked at her confused
"Do you know who I am?" Titania asked, knowing what the answer should be.
"What are you saying…?" Amaria tilted her head before smiling, giving words Titania didn't want to hear "Of course I know who you are; you're the love of my life!"
"…" Again, Percival and Lucille glanced at each other… This wasn't the answer any of the three expected.
"Amy, what's the last thing you remember before waking up?" Titania asked another question. Already understanding what had happened.
"Why all the weird questions?" Amaria was obviously confused.
"Just answer." Titania beckoned.
"Um… Hm…" Amaria scratched her chin thinking back before finally remembering. "Oh! Yeah, I was going to go down to Obsidia today and help Rini with the plant stuff down there!"
"…Ummm…" Julia now understood something was wrong as that incident was long resolved.
"Move." Though Titania didn't take it well, as she pushed past Julia and Percival and left the room, into the back room.
"Is something… wrong?" Amaria asked fearfully, she hadn't seen Titania look so angry.
"Umm, Amy, the Obsidia incident was resolved a long time ago…" Julia explained. "…And you met Percival and Lucille during it…"
"Wait, what?" Amaria looked surprised hearing that, the incident has passed?!
"Post-traumatic retrograde amnesia." Florina suddenly jumped up, calmly stating.
"Rini!" Julia cheered as her friend stood. "You're okay!"
"I am functional, yes." Florina stated emotionlessly. "Please disregard my sub-standard performance."
Though before anyone could comment on Florina, Amaria interrupted. "Wait, you think I have amnesia? I don't understand… I thought I just went to sleep like normal…"
"Titania reported that your personage had suffered injury." Florina reported back to Amaria.
"I don't remember anything like that, but…" Amaria looked away before her hand reached to her head. "I do have a splitting headache, if that means anything?"
"Traumatic brain injury may result in diffuse axonal injury and/or retrograde amnesia." Florina explained, while Lucille silently looked away as someone who had amnesia. "It is a logical conclusion."
"So, I just… Forgot a bunch of think and people? Like Percival and Lucille? I—" Amaria said seemingly scared as her head started to hurt. "I'm… tired… Hey, guys… I think I need to sleep for a little bit… Is that okay?" everyone nodded at that. "I'm sorry—Especially to you two, Percival, Lucille. I'm just really… tired and confused, so… I'll be up in a little bit…"
As Amaria left back to her room, closing the door. Florina stated. "I must depart as well."
"Huh? Why? Don't tell me you have retrogravy amnesty too!" Julia exclaimed saying the wrong words.
Florina shook her head and explained. "I will be attending to Calcenon City. I understand Team Meteor has established operations in Labradorra City. I hypothesize I will be most likely to encounter Fern there. And he does require correction."
"I think I should stay behind and make sure Amy's okay, so… Goodluck!" Julia cheered for Florina to hopefully get through to Fern.
"Luck is merely an illusory essentialization of statistics, and is neither inherently good nor bad, regardless of wishes." Florina stated, before waving to everyone. "Nevertheless, farewell."
As Florina left the building, Julia said to Lucille and Percival. "I worry about all of them… But I've gotta keep spirits high! OTS, we'll win this fight! Everything will be all right!" Before sticking a hand to Lucille. "Though I don't think that floor will be helping you. Percy, while I get Lucille in a more comfortable place, could you check on Tania?"
"…Sure." Percival relented. He certainly didn't want to, but felt that he should.
Percival followed Titania to the back room she entered. Only to find she wasn't there, seeing the shattered window, Percival exited out side to find the red-haired woman angrily punching a rock.
"Are you okay?" Percival asked, knowing full well that she wasn't.
"…" Titania ignoring the feeling to take her Aegislash and slash the boy down. "I'm just so fucking tired of this. You know, it's one thing that she found out about my facade and tried to off herself. But I was actually glad to have that shackle lifted off of me. And now, everything that we just went through has been completely voided by her losing her memory. And I'm stuck again."
"Is it really voided?" Percival asked. "I know you understood most things about Amaria… But don't you think this is a chance to try and handle this better?"
"I don't know…" Titania spat back. "I can't keep living this lie, but I'm not about to let her kill herself twice."
"…" Percival silence, was him being reminded of him hearing that only two will be taken… He certainly didn't want that taken person to be Amaria. If it was anything like last time, one wrong move… and it could certainly be Amaria's life.
"I'll figure something out." Titania said to Percival looking out into the distance, she had the Sapphire Bracelets that Team Meteor wanted in her hands. "In the meantime, I'm leaving. I'm taking the Bracelet as far away from here as I can. If Meteor wants them, they'll have to come and get them. And believe me, they'll regret it if they try."
"Best of luck." Percival wished the best to her.
"…Thanks." Titania said taking out her Skarmory. "Skarmory, let's go!"
A/N: So... That battle certainly went way better than any of my normal attempts of that damn gauntlet. Perhaps it's the fact that when I'm writing the story I really don't need to worry about missing 5 times on a move with 90% accuracy. Blizzard is one thing, but hell if I had used a move like Meteor Mash I'd always miss it on my first attempt in using it. but enough of that let's discuss characters.
So... Lucille managed to mega evolve her Absol, Hope! Awesome, yeah if you hadn't already guessed (Or remember). Lucille got that mega ring and Absolite back in chapter 52 from Luna... yeah she's had that for a while now and was finally able to use it. Too bad about the draw backs, as a downside to having super powerful Absol that can predict the future. It's rather damn draining when Mega Evolving, both physically and mentally. heck back in chapter 51 after Nero's battle against Percival (Where Nero Mega-evolved Grim[his absol]) why do you think I put so much emphasis on Nero feeling tired? But why is it so exhausting... Let's see that explanation next chapter. For now let's see the levels and teams for everyone. Cause I'm sure everyone wants to know.
Lucille: Not much change... except higher levels for all of her Pokémon.
Hope (Absol): Female, Level 75, Moves: Night Slash, Play Rough, Detect, Double Team
Blaze (Arcanine): Female, Level 74, Moves: Heat Wave, Crunch, Close Combat, Dragon Pulse

Nero: Let's be honest with how many times he's battled, you've probably forgot most of his team... Though surprisingly I have his team more memorized than Lucille's... (Moves and levels aside). And to be honest I kinda nerfed Nero's levels for this battle to match more closely to Solaris' Pokémon.

Orcus (Hydreigon): Male, Level 72, Moves: Dragon Pulse, Dark Pulse, Flash Cannon, Earth Power

Izanami (Greninja): Female, Level 69, Moves: Scald, Water shuriken, Extrasensory, Dark Pulse

Raven (Honchkrow): Female, Level 67, Moves: Sucker Punch, Roost, Night Slash, Brave Bird {Interestingly enough out of all the Pokémon I gave Nero... Raven feels most off on Nero's Team. Though I don't think I'll retcon her.}
Percival: The legend himself who somehow actually made it through both battles without a heal in-between Yeah in the game they give the players a heal between the battles. I didn't do that for whatever reason. I just had to believe those who got knocked out were out. Again, like Lucille his levels were similar to last time but still higher.
