Chapter 76- The Fallen Angel

Time: 10:00

Location: Reborn City (Grand Hall)

While Percival and Taka were off resting in a Cave in the Desert. Back in Reborn City's Opal Ward, the Grand Hall the door is heard closing as a Blonde-haired girl leaves her room, for the first time in a while. With a renewed vigor in her heart, after reading the final words of her brother.

The note was still visible on the bed where Lucille left it. The will read.

[Lucille,

Hey, I guess I should start this off by apologizing. For a lot of things. For hurting you, you're Pokémon. The trouble I've caused you and Percival… Not telling you about what was going to happen… But let's be real you probably already foresaw it.

Though, I'm not sorry for joining Team Meteor. Yes, I know they've done some pretty heinous things. But things weren't always like this. It was better. Sure, cleansing the city may have been bad. But it certainly wasn't as bad as it is now. Yeah, the Earthquakes may have been dramatic. But it wasn't as bad as uprooting entire wards with the use of PULSEs. Things have really gotten corrupted on Meteor's end. While there is fault from Solaris, I do also blame Sirius and Lin.

Speaking of Team Meteor. I'm sure my death—Look, I'm not trying to be a martyr. If you're angry about what happened to me, just blame me. Not yourself. I so want to write in here for you to leave, to not get involved with Team Meteor anymore. But I know like me, you're a stubborn piece of work. Do your best. I know you are much stronger than you let on. You've always been the impressive big sister after all. Just take it easy on Taka alright, while complicated as he is, I don't wish anything bad to happen to him. He's been like a brother to me. Tell him that for me will ya?

I digress, even after all this, I do wonder. If things had been slightly different, how would it be? If I stayed at the Orphanage what would have happened. Despite what I may have said previously. I don't really remember much about her, but I think she didn't hate me. She and dad were always fighting, I think something about a divorce. She tried to take both of us, but then you got hospitalized and a decision was made. I certainly don't blame her for it. It was either leaving the girl on the death bed or the newly traumatized boy with the abusive father. Maybe she had plans to get me back when you got better. Maybe she was called about me ending in the orphanage. But most likely by that time, she could have done anything. I was long into the streets of Reborn. She possibly thought I was dead already then. So don't blame her. Cause if she didn't hate me, I'm sure she must hate what happened to me.

Stay strong, be safe, and for the sake of Reborn. Shine bright you damn, Luxen. Yeah, it fits you a hell of a lot better than Umbrasyl ever did.

-Your little brother.]

{A/N: Um… Did I ever mention which was the older twin previously? If so I'm going to have to find that chapter where it was written, and update this one.}

"Ah, Lucille. It's good to see you up." A cheerful voice called out to Lucille as she walked through the hall.

"Ah, Good morning, Adrienn." Lucille nodded her head as she met with the Fairy Leader Adrienn.

Xe had had light pastel hair that could easily be seen as white, with blue eyes. Wearing a blue shirt and white jacket with black pants and Boots. Xe hadn't seen Lucille leave her room since Lucille had entered it after the Devon incident. "We've all been kinda worried about you. Me, Percival, Marie, and Victoria I mean. I've gotten reports that you at least ate the food that's been sent, but nothing else to note."

"I'm sorry…" Lucille admitted her guilt upon hearing that. "It was just a little hard… after…"

"Again, my apologies for your loss. While I may not have known him, nor do I know the loss of losing a brother. I can say for certain it is painful to lose someone close." Adrienn responded, with a full understanding of Lucille. As Xe didn't even know till years later about losing a friend. Though Xe's face tightened as xe handed a paper to Lucille. "I waited as long as I could, but this needs to be done soon."

"…" Lucille's lips remained a solid line as she read the paper. It was an official document reporting on the death of Nero Umbrasyl. Though there was a line that did confuse her. "No… body?"
"Yes, as much as it pains me to tell you. Your brother's body wasn't discovered in the investigation of the abandoned Devon Building." Adrienn explained. "There is a report of a certain shadow having removed the arm off of the streets. It is unknown whether Team Meteor took his body or Shade had taken the liberty to clean that as well."

"…" Lucille bit her lip, recalling when she had seen Shade cleaning up Corey's corpse out of Lapis Ward.

"I have gone through the process to send word to Shade about returning your brother to your family, though we'll be waiting to hear back from him on that. So far is this death certificate received from Shade." Adrienn sighed; Shade was rather the enigmatic mystery. Contacting him was hard enough as it was. "On that note, it comes to informing the family of the deceased."

"You mean contacting my mother," Lucille responded curtly. knowing how she had visited her father's grave only a few days prior.

"Look, I understand if it's too hard for you to do it yourself. But I would at least like to send a letter about the matter." Adrienn conceded. "Information of your point of origin was rather peculiar. As we know from the fact that you were registered dead in reborn yet having moved between hospitals… Well, suffice to say we would like you to at least help in contacting your mother. From what I could find, your mother was never contacted about Sable Umbrasyl's death. In turn, never contacted about your brother heading into an Orphanage."

"…" Lucille hesitated at contacting her mother. "I'm not sure if I'm ready to talk to her about it… I haven't even exactly told her that I met Nero… again. She might try and convince me to go home, but there's still so much—"

"Understood, letter it is then. Just write your home address or at least a number so that I could contact her myself." Adrienn handed a clipboard to Lucille, as she wrote it down. "While I mean this in the nicest way possible, it's in our best interests that you don't leave the region for now. Besides, I'm sure our future Champion wouldn't want his friend to suddenly disappear on him."

"Champion?" Lucille tilted her head as she finished writing.

"Ah, yes. Given the recent circumstances, the actual status of the Reborn league is a bit unclear. Though Victoria and I are handling most of the administration work, as for the Champion…" Adrienn sighed as xe recalled hearing about Ame's death.

"…" Lucille was silent as she recalled seeing Ame's head being bitten off by Lin's Hydreigon. She balled her fists remembering how powerless she felt.

"Simply put, I've asked Percival to become the new Champion," Adrienn said with a smile of admiration for Percival. "He's already fought with me, and as time is of the essence is off to face against Titania."

"Alright, that makes sense." Lucille nodded. With how accepting Lucille was, Adrienn was taken slightly aback. "What? Percival has gotten 14 Gym Badges now including yours, knowing him he won't give up halfway. Percy becoming champion was practically set in stone once he beat Luna."

"Marvelous." Adrienn smiled upon hearing that, continuing off of that. "As we are discussing League Administration. I'd like it if you would become one of the Reborn League's League Managers. And I'd like it if it were you in particular because from what I've heard, you've been the one of the two who's done so much for Reborn's sake."

"League Manager?" Lucille heard this unfamiliar term, and was wondering why Adrienn was bringing this up now, and what this position entailed.

"Yes, at the moment we are a bit understaffed." Adrienn started by explaining the details of the position. "While in Pretense you would be doing paperwork, like me and Victoria. I feel that you have more skills in a wider variety of areas. Such as battles for picking Gym Leaders and Elite Four members, some of the things only Ame could do. Though with the bonus of being a multi-type reserve leader."

"Multi-Type Reserve leader?" Lucille had heard about Reserve leaders in the Reborn Region. A backup or substitute leader to replace the main one if they were to fall sick or if something happened to them. Lucille had already met a few of them. Though the reserve leaders usually had a selected type to replace that gym leader.

"You heard me, multi-type reserve leader." Adrienn repeated, "I've heard about your battling skills from Victoria and Percival. In determining your skills I'd say you are much of a jack-of-all-trades trainer. Even if it is just temporary rental Pokémon, I don't see a problem with having you act as a temporary leader at any point."

With that explanation, Lucille couldn't say she wasn't tempted in hearing that. But there was one more point she wanted to be clarified. "Do I get the same benefits as being a gym leader?"

"If you mean to freely use moves such as surf, and fly around the region then yes." Adrienn answered with a smile, "Though Salary may need to be discussed at a later date."

"You had me at not needing to be carried by my friends." Lucille stuck out her hand to Adrienn.

"Thank you." Adrienn smiled, taking Lucille's hand. "Though let's just take this one step at a time in the direction that's best, okay?"

"You have something you need me to do already?" Lucille questioned.

"Honestly, even with Victoria's help. I'm swamped. And as of hearing it being a Stalemate in Calcenon for now it wouldn't be a bad idea to bolster defenses over here for now. Since I've got a handful of workstations that are short-handed. If you could find some time to look out for some volunteers, I'd be very thankful."

"Oh, I'm sure Marie would love to help." Lucille smiled at that.

"Oh, yes Marie…" Adrienn sighed.

"Is there something wrong with her?"

"Well, it's just that Percival's other two siblings are still here. And it seems that they've come to take her back. Not that she's willing to leave." Adrienn explained.

"Leave it to me," Lucille said with a calm smile, with a small glint that was somewhat worrying.

"No! I'm not going!" There was a cry of a young girl, locking herself in her room.

"Marie, come on out Stop being difficult!" Shouted back a voice of a young man. Though Marie didn't listen to Kuro.

"Geez…" Off to the side, stood the other half-sibling of Percival, Ari. Seeing how this was Kuro's way of convincing Marie to leave. She had just given up hope of returning home anytime soon. As she looked away from Kuro pounding on the door, Ari spotted a blonde woman with long hair coming down the hall. "Hey, there cutie. Come here often~"

"…No wonder Percival was used to Cain's flirting," Lucille muttered as she walked over.

"Percival? Oh, you're that blonde girl from last time!" Ari finally placed Lucille from "Haven't seen you in a while… What's your name again?"

"Lucille," She answered, "Lucille Luxen, of Reborn City. My apologies for not properly introducing myself last time. I was a bit distressed."

"Weren't we all?" Ari said with a small smile.

"Heh, so you live here in this shit hole." Came a snicker from the boy with white hair and glasses.

"…" Lucille ignored Kuro's words walking past him, "Excuse me."

"And what do you want?" Kuro spat out, annoyed that she ignored him.

"…" Again, Lucille ignored Kuro. Walking up to the door she gently knocked, "Marie, are you there? It's me, Lucille."
"Lucy?" Marie answered back anxiously, she hadn't interacted with her since the Devon incident. Not since she heard about what happened to Nero.

"Yes, it's me. I'm sorry if I caused you to worry about me." Lucille said with a smile, hearing the voice of her young friend. "I would like to talk with you. Could you open the door please?"

"…If I do that Kuro will force me to leave," Marie said, fearing to open the door. "He's lying and said that Percival wanted me to leave the region!"

"I'm not lying, I'm telling the truth!" Kuro shouted back.

"…" Lucille looked at Kuro skeptically, before turning back to the door. "I'm sure if Percival wanted you to leave, it would be of your own volition. But this would be much easier if I could talk face-to-face with you."

"…"

"Don't worry, I'll protect you," Lucille said with a relaxing cheer. Though seeing the hesitation from the door. "What, do you not believe in my ability to knock out Kuro?"

"What was that?" Kuro cocked an eyebrow hearing that.

"…" Though timidly Marie opened the door… "You won't make me leave?"

"I would never," Lucille said, extending her hand out to Marie. Marie grabbed it, leaving her room. "Nice, now I could use your help with stuff. Right now, Adrienn and Victoria are struggling to deal with some things around the city. And they wanted our help to deal with them."

"What kind of stuff?" Marie asked interest piqued.

"Kinds of stuff like helping set up volunteer work, maybe some paperwork, and some hands construction, if you don't mind," Lucille explained to Marie, whose face lit up a bit to some of the work.

"Oi, no, she's not. Ari and I are bringing Marie home this instant." Kuro snapped at Lucille.

"…" Lucille saying nothing, calmly let go of Marie's hand, and stepped in front of her to guard Marie. "I'd beg to differ."

"Then beg," Kuro responded with a sneer. It was true, Kuro was very similar to Fern.
"*Sigh*" Lucille sighed, still guarding Marie with her right hand, Lucille produced a Pokeball with her left. "How about instead we take this outside, and settle this like trainers. Winner does what the loser says."
"Heh, you think you have a chance?" Kuro sneered again.

"Well, I don't see myself losing," Lucille said, neither gloating nor smiling. She stated it as if it were a fact.

Ari watched silently, thinking "(This girl's picking a fight with Kuro…)"

"Though, this is a bit of a tight space for a Fire user. Wouldn't you rather take this outside?" Lucille continued. She didn't want to ruin the interior of this area, and who knows if anyone was trying to sleep through this commotion.

It was now out front of the Grand Hall, the Opal Ward. As they left, some people noticed the blonde-haired girl, recognizing her as one who helped this city in the past. So outside of the hall, there was something of a small crowd around waiting for the battle.

"Heh, seems like we're drawing a crowd." Kuro laughed, readjusting his glasses. "I'll give you a chance to surrender before embarrassing yourself."

"…" Lucille rolled her eyes. Standing across from Kuro in the streets. "This will be a six-on-six battle. Set style. If you agree to these rules, then state your name to everyone present."

"Kuro, Kuro Whitehall. The heir to the Whitehall name." Kuro announced. The crowd murmured at the name Whitehall. Some have heard of the escapades of Percival Whitehall, and others murmur as they've heard how one of their city's saviors had been disowned. Though Kuro seemed to ignore these murmurs.

"Then, I, Lucille Luxen of Reborn City, Twin sister to Nero Umbrasyl," Lucille announced to some of the crowd confused, while others looked out in surprise. In response to the crowd, "Yes, The Black Demon. Agree to these terms as well."

"The Black Demon, what a laugh? You the Fallen Angel or something then?" Kuro laughed at Lucille.

"I am me. Now are you going to fight or not?" Lucille said, readying her first Pokémon. Her orange fluffy dog, Blaze the Arcanine.

"An Arcanine huh? Well, it won't intimidate Helen here." Kuro said sending out a large red-yellowish Pokémon with an egg-shaped body and pink lips.

"Magmor…" The Magmortar, Helen appeared on the streets. The temperature raising the area by a few degrees.

"Aroooo!" Blaze howled, at the other Pokémon. With a beckoning signal from Lucille. Blaze jumped at the Magmortar, beating Helen with her paws. It was an extremely fast-paced hitting up close to the Magmortar.

"…mag…" with the fast-paced attack, Helen wasn't able to retain her stance from the consecutive hits and collapsed to the ground.

"What the?!" Kuro shouted in surprise as his first Pokémon was knocked down.

"Did you honestly think that was going to intimidate me?" Lucille asked.

"Why you… Dazhbog!" Kuro went to his next Pokémon, a giant red ape-like Pokémon with bushy flame-like eyebrows.

"A Darmanitan," Lucille noted as Blaze's next opponent stood.

"And Dazhbog won't let that attack go unpunished. Let's show some real flames! Flare Blitz!" Kuro commanded.

"Dar!" the Darmanitan shouted as it slammed its fists to the ground, before pouncing at the Arcanine. Dazbog's body surrounded itself in light blue flames as it hurled itself at Blaze. Leaving the road scorched as it made its way to Blaze.

"Arg…" Blaze Growled as the Darmanitan collided into her, but still more than capable of holding the attack.

"Real fire? Please Hellfire has had more an effect on Blaze than that." Lucille countered.

"…" Blaze knew it as well, compared to Nero's Houndoom. Dazhbog's attack was simply weaker.

"Though the recoil will be the end of this one, Blaze Close combat again!" Lucille called. Since Dazhbog was still mere inches away Blaze quickly followed with a flurry of blows against the creature. Knocking another of Kuro's Pokémon down.

"Woah, two with one Pokémon," Ari muttered as she watched.

"Wow…" Marie was surprised, sure she believed in Lucille when she said she wouldn't lose. But Marie thought the battle would be closer than it was.

"…" Kuro tightened his fist. What the hell? He thought this isn't what he was expecting. What happened to that tepid girl that he saw at Devon? She looked nothing like the one before him now. "Salamander, Sludge wave!"

"Sala!" A thin black purplish lizard, the toxic lizard, Salazzle, appeared from her Pokeball. Waving her tail, she sent a wave of sludge at Blaze

"Grrr…ah" Blaze cried as the sludge knocked her out.

"Hah! There goes your hound!" Kuro laughed as Lucille's first Pokémon fell.

"You did great, Blaze take a nice rest," Lucille said switching Pokémon as a sudden sandstorm started in the middle of the city.

"…" This one was silent as the sandstorm rampaged. Some hidden holes in the Armor of this Black titan released this storm. A green rhombus in the center of its black armor. This was a Pokémon known to rewrite maps if enraged. This was Osiris, a Tyranitar.

"Y-you're kidding, right?" Kuro flinched as he shielded his face from the sand. He knew nothing of Lucille's team, least did he expect a Tyranitar to appear.

"Rockslide," Lucille commanded, Osiris stomped and summoned an avalanche of rocks landing on Salamander, taking her out of the fight.

"You think you can win huh?" Kuro questioned, "Well, I admit Rocks are pretty stubborn. But This guy can melt them with his breath. Igneel!"

"Charrrr!" Roared the volcanic dragon, Charizard, Igneel. A burst of the flame's resounded in the air.

Though Lucille noted the metal necklace across the Charizards throat. Osiris looked back at her, with a determined smirk. "Full power huh?"

"…" This comment wasn't missed by Kuro. Thinking of Lucille's arrogance. "You want full power? Well from Fire and Brimstone leaves ashes and dust. A dragon's breath will leave no such problems."

The ties that bind formed, s energy encircled Igneel. The energy encircled and brightened; the temperature of the area increased to an uncomfortable degree. Igneel's body blackened, and blue flames spilled out of his mouth. "CHAAAAAR!"

"Power Up punch!" Kuro yelled.

"…" Osiris didn't move, letting the blow hit directly into it, only for dark jaws to appear around Osiris' mouth and then crunching down onto Igneel.

"Like usual, you overestimate yourself." Lucille sighed, as she learned in non-threatening Battles, Osiris was more of a thrill-seeker trying to take down his opponent. Tending to ignore Lucille's commands in these battles.

"Heh, that's a mistake you'll regret! Igneel Dragon Claw!" Kuro responded, Igneel flew over to slash at Osiris.

"Tar." Only for Osiris to catch the claw as it attacked. Osiris did take a heavy hit, but it wasn't the only one to fall as he took Igneel out with another crunch.

"A double knockout…" Lucille mumbled to herself, remaining Pokémon for each side were two and four.
"Don't think you've won yet! Come on out Atlas!" Kuro yelled sending out an orange fluff ball, with a fiery disposition. Atlas the Flareon, is one of Kuro's oldest Pokémon.

"I'd cover your ears if I were you. Aurras" Lucille warned bringing out a dragon with sonic ears like an amplifier. As Lucille warned, Lucille covered her ears herself, shouting. "BOOMBURST!"

Aurras' ears glowed white, as it started with a low growl before a deafening sound wave got released into the air. "Noi…VERRRRRRNNN!"

"Fl…are…Eon!" Atlas cried as he got flung back from the giant soundwave, instantly taken from the fight.

"Woah… She actually got Kuro down to his last Pokémon…" Ari said aloud, surprised by these events.

"What I think is impressive, is that Lucille hasn't used Hope," Marie commented to her sister.

"We can end this now and save you the trouble of having to heal your team. Or Aurras could take them out with her next attack." Lucille said, smiling slightly.

"…Like shit I'm giving up here. Yuki!" Kuro said, throwing out a snow-white nine-tailed fox. The Alolan variant of Ninetales, Yuki. The one difference between Kuro's team.

"Hm… Color me surprised, but it won't make a difference. Aurras Turn up the heat." Lucille commanded, where Aurras blasted a heated wave of fiery energy taking out Kuro's final Pokémon.

"…" Kuro stood silent as he lost.

"So, about our bet," Lucille said after returning Aurras to her Pokeball.
