Once back on the Minerva, Itachi was told that the captain wanted to see him. After changing into his uniform, he went to the captain's office. He went inside and saluted.
"You wanted to see me ma'am" said Itachi saluting.
"Yes" said Talia.
"Why did you allow the enemy to destroy that thing" she asked?
"That is what she wants to know about" thought Itachi.
"Not why I was collaborating with them" he thought.
"I couldn't get away from that damn flying arm and couldn't get an opening to destroy it" said Itachi.
"The pilot must have considered me the biggest threat" he added.
"Which left it open to being destroyed by that Orb machine," said Talia.
"You're dismissed" she ordered.
"Yes ma'am" said Itachi saluting as he left.
Sometime later everyone onboard the ship went to the common rooms to hear the Chairman's speech. It began with what just happened in Berlin and showed doctored footage of ZAFT destroying the Destroy.
"So that is the reason why she asked me that" thought Itachi.
Then the Chairman began his grand speech about LOGOS. He talked about how they are the reason for both wars breaking out. He finished by displaying a list with accompanying pictures of every member of LOGOS.
"He is beginning his endgame" thought Itachi.
He then felt that Lacus and Cagalli wanted to talk to him. Once he could get away, he created a Kage Bunshin and changed into a phoenix and flamed away. He appeared in Cagalli's and Stella's room. They both created a Kage Bunshin before they grabbed onto him, and they disappeared in a burst of fire. They appeared in Lacus' room as they let go and Itachi changed back.
"This is really bad" said Cagalli.
"There were some people from Orb on that list, including the Seirans" she said.
"At least you don't have to worry about that marriage contact for much longer" said Itachi.
"That's not funny" shouted Cagalli hitting Itachi.
"They could attack Orb because of this" she said.
"This is not enough of a reason" said Itachi.
"As long as they don't do anything stupid, they should be fine" he said.
"They will" grumbled Cagalli.
"Did he do this because of what just happened" asked Stella?
"Yes" said Lacus nodding her head.
"This is all a part of his plan" she said.
"You figured out what his plan is then" asked Itachi?
"Not fully, but we did figure out the beginning" said Lacus.
"Everything he has done has made him look like the good guy and a savior and everyone else the bad guy" she explained.
"So that is why I was cut out of destroying that thing" said Cagalli.
"He couldn't have anyone else look good" she added.
"Correct" said Lacus.
"Make sure to save that footage" said Itachi.
"We did" said Cagalli nodding her head.
"This means his final plan can't be anything good if he is counting on all this good will" said Itachi.
Once they all finished talking, Itachi changed into a phoenix and Cagalli and Stella grabbed onto him before flaming away. He took them back to their rooms before he went back to the Minerva.
Sometime later the Minerva finally arrived at Gibraltar. After they arrived Itachi, and Rey were told that the Chairman wanted to talk to them. Once they both left the Minerva, they were both taken to a hanger and told to head inside.
"Looks like he wants to show something off," said Ginny.
"He seems to like doing that," said Gabrielle.
Both Itachi and Rey went into a dark hanger and the Chairman standing there waiting for them.
"Looks like he is going for a dramatic reveal," said Parvati.
"Chairman" said both Itachi and Rey saluting.
"Welcome gentlemen," said Gilbert.
"I have asked you here to have a talk with you and ask for your help with something" he said.
"But first let me reveal what is here since I'm sure your eyes have been drawn to them" he said with a wave of his hand.
The lights came on showing two new Gundams. The first one had large wings on its back and an anti-ship sword and beam cannon stored there. The second one had a large backpack on it with Dragoons all around it.
"New Nuclear powered Gundams" thought Itachi.
"They are the ZGMF-X42S Destiny and the ZGMF-X666S Legend," said Gilbert.
"These are to be your new machines to help build a new world," he said.
"We are honored" said Rey bowing.
"What new world" asked Itachi?
"Have you ever wondered why there is always fighting and wars" asked Gilbert?
"Yes" said Itachi nodding his head.
"It is because people do not know what they want and want to find it" explained Gilbert.
"To find it people fight each other and go to war" he continued.
"If people knew what they were capable of then they would know what they want" he continued.
"Since everyone knew what they wanted then there would be no war, no fighting" he finished.
"That is the world that I want to create" he said.
"Will you help me" he asked?
"Yes" said both Itachi and Rey saluting.
Itachi got into Destiny's cockpit and started looking though the systems.
"How will he achieve this" asked Gabrielle.
"With genetics" said Itachi.
"But that will put coordinators on top," said Padma.
"No one on Earth will go along with that," said Ginny.
"That is why he wants everyone to love him," said Parvati.
"Correct" said Itachi.
As Itachi looked though Destiny's systems, he saw that they just threw all three of the Impulse's packs onto a mobile suit and gave it wings. It does like the idea of a beam weapon hidden in each hand. He will have to see how powerful they were and their range.
Once Itachi was back at his room for the night, he created a Kage Bunshin and contacted Lacus and Cagalli before changing into a phoenix and flaming away. He appeared on the Archangel in Cagalli's and Stella's room where they both created a Kage Bunshin before they grabbed onto Itachi and flamed away. They appeared in Lacus' room on the Eternal as Itachi changed back.
"The Chairman told me what his end game is" said Itachi.
"What is it" asked Lacus.
"He wants to create a world ruled by genetics" said Itachi.
"Nobody on earth will accept that since it will put coordinators on top" said Cagalli.
"That must be why he wants everyone to love him," said Stella.
"How did he spin it" asked Lacus.
"By saying that people fight because they don't know what they really want" explained Itachi.
"But if people knew what they were truly capable of then they would know what they want and won't fight" he finished.
"It sounds good, but it would make life boring" said Lacus.
"There would be nothing to live for and would be the end of us" she said.
"Sounds like what happened to me" said Stella hugging herself, shivering.
"We need to stop this, but we don't have any proof to show anyone" said Cagalli.
"We are currently investigating a lead that could give us the proof we need" said Lacus.
"We are taking a closer look at Mendel" she said.
"We didn't get to explore it since we were attacked" said Itachi.
"When are you leaving ZAFT" asked Cagalli?
"When it will be the most advantageous" said Itachi.
"The less forces ZAFT and the Alliance have, the better for us" he said.
He then changed into a phoenix and Cagalli and Stella grabbed onto him before flaming away. He took them back to their room on the Archangel before heading back to the Minerva.
Soon the major operation to take out LOGOS was revealed to be to attack Heaven's Base, the main headquarters of the Earth Alliance. The Chairman has word sent out to the Earth Alliance for those not with LOGOS to join with ZAFT for the operation. Many ships from the smaller nations joined ZAFT at Gibraltar, the launching point of the operation.
"The meat shields have arrived" thought Itachi.
"Meat shields" exclaimed Gabrielle!
"Yes" said Itachi.
"I bet the Alliance ships will be given the 'honor' of leading the attack on the base taking the brunt of their defenses" he explained.
"The Chairman will look good again when ZAFT will have low casualties from this attack," said Padma.
Once the operation began, the combined fleet left Gibraltar and headed towards Heaven's Base. Once they arrived, they stayed outside the defensive range and didn't attack yet. Just as Itachi thought, the Alliance ships were all in front of the ZAFT ships. The Chairman gave the Atlantic Federation them the chance to surrender and sent them his terms.
"There he goes making himself look good again," said Parvati.
"How has no one noticed how outrageous these terms are" exclaimed Padma.
"There is no way they will accept them" she said.
"Which is the point" said Itachi.
"He looks good and still gets to wipe them out" he said.
The Federation response to this was launching missiles at the combined fleet and start deploying all their mobile suits and mobile weapons. In response, ZAFT's space fleet released their drop pods only for Heaven's Base to reveal its secret weapon hidden under the now revealed fake mountains near the base. It was a huge crater filled with mirrors. A tower rose in the middle of the crater and fired multiple beams at the mirrors. That caused them to multiply exponentially and tore the entire drop forces to pieces.
"They now have a defense against orbital drops" said Itachi.
"But they now know about it and will be prepared next time," said Ginny.
"Correct" said Itachi.
Five Destroys launched from Heaven's Base and started destroying the Alliance ships in the front of the combined fleet.
"They made more of those things" shouted Gabrielle!
"Maybe they thought more of them will cover up their known weaknesses" said Itachi.
Destiny, Legend, and Impulse launched from the Minerva and headed towards the battle. On his suggestion, the Legend was holding both Impulse's anti-ship swords. The Impulse broke off from them, flew towards the mass-produced models, and started taking them out.
The Destiny activated its wings and took out is anti-ship swords before shooting forwards towards the Destroys.
"Impressive speed" thought Itachi.
He flew towards one of the Destroys who deployed its arms to attack him. He quickly dodged them and slashed open its cockpit. He then stabbed his sword into the cockpit, destroying it and causing it to fall back and blow up. He then took off towards another one.
"I think I will try out that palm cannon" thought Itachi.
He activated it only for nothing to come out.
"Don't tell me this requires contact to work" grumbled Itachi.
As he got to the next one, he grabbed its head and destroyed it with the palm cannon. He then slashed, opened the cockpit, and stabbed it. It fell back and blew up.
"Very powerful, but it requiring contact makes it almost useless" thought Itachi.
By the time he finished with the third one, the Legend had taken out the other two. Heaven's Base soon fell after that. As Itachi thought most of the Alliance ships were gone while only a few ZAFT ships were destroyed. But it wasn't the victory that they wanted with the complete destruction of their drop force.
"They relied too much on those things" thought Itachi.
Itachi left a Kage Bunshin in Destiny as he snuck into the base to find Djibril but couldn't find him anywhere.
"This isn't good" thought Itachi.
"He must have left while we were finishing off those things" he thought.
"Where would he go now" asked Gabrielle.
"The only powerful nation left allied to them, Orb" said Itachi.
"Those idiots will let him in" grumbled Ginny.
"And will probably be seen doing it too" said Itachi.
Once Itachi was back in his room after the battle was over, he went to warn Cagalli. He flamed to Cagalli's and Stella's room and changed back.
"What is the matter" asked Cagalli?
"They didn't find Djibril when we took Heaven's Base" said Itachi.
"He must have fled when the tides started turning" he said.
"And I think he will come to Orb next" he added.
"Those damn Seirans will let him in" growled Cagalli.
"Once ZAFT declares they will attack Orb, I will return" said Itachi.
"I guess I will see you soon then" said Cagalli.
Itachi nodded his head as he flamed away.
