Dragon Ball Z: The Catalyst

Act: III

Chapter 40: Visions of the Future

Vegeta:

It was unbearable feeling how much stronger Turles was every time that obnoxious, Kakarot-look-alike flared his power across the surface of the Earth. And yet here he was, with a broken arm, desperately trying to train himself while not aggravating his injury. It wasn't some fracture he was contending with, but a mending of the bone. The humans had inserted metal bars in his arm to force the bones back together to heal, but it would still take another month for it to fully heal. All the while it caused him to lose precious time. He'd have already left this miserable rock were it not for that. Training in Space would give him multiple more opportunities to gain power, then being stuck on this mudball.

But all of that was put in the back of his mind, for the moment, because in a few days the Namekians would bring their Dragon Balls together to wish back Kakarot and all his friends. If Turles was difficult to tolerate, Kakarot was unbearable. The Super Saiyan, the first one in over a thousand years, it was his birthright, and instead a pathetic clown, a joker, had stolen it from him. Worse yet, he'd even stolen his chance at revenge against Frieza. The man who destroyed his home world, the man who'd killed his father and almost their entire world, killed by nothing but a joke.

But Kakarot was a fool as well, because once he came back to this miserable world his secrets would quickly be revealed. The third class would easily be stupid enough to reveal the secret of his power, and then he would quickly find himself at the mercy of the Prince of All Saiyans. Then Turles, and the wretched third brother Raditz as well would find themselves quickly the subjects of his wroth. No one would be able to dispute his rule over the universe.

A rule never meant to be contested...

Smiling devilishly to himself, Vegeta looked across the outer compound of the CC building, where he'd taken to training in. So far he'd been trying to hone his ki, rather then physically abuse his body, if only to spare his arm the chance of being further damaged. However, there were footsteps behind him now. Narrowing his eyes ahead, Vegeta determined who it was within a heartbeat.

That cursed woman.

"Vegeta," the woman sounded, walking around his left flank to peer at him. "We need to do X-rays on your arm again this week to make sure that it's healing correctly."

So far, to say Vegeta had been unimpressed by human medical standards, would be a gross understatement. What passed for medicine on this backwards pile of filth was barbaric at best, incompetent at worst. They didn't even have a proper healing tank. No, instead they cut you open and put bars in your arm, and then covered it in a hardened substance they called a 'cast'. When this cursed woman said that they'd do all for him that medicine could permit, he thought he'd be back in action in a few days, not a few months.

With an irritated glance, Vegeta looked over to the female human.

"I am busy right now, woman," Vegeta said, if had spines which could project from his body defensively, they would have.

The blue haired human female was relentless, it was nerve wracking and aggravating at the same time. Were this in the Planet Trade, he'd have killed her some time ago. Worse, that wretched hallucination's prophecy didn't come true. He was hardly immortal because of her, in fact he'd died at the hands of Frieza after having saved her. So it must have been all a figment of his imagination, or worse, a trick of some kind.

"I'm sorry for deceiving you Vegeta, but you were the only one who could save this time line from being a nightmare."

Eyes widened immediately as Vegeta immediately turned his head looking about with a quick glance in all directions. Where did that voice come from? Who was that? That voice was the same one that the mysterious figure had back on Namek.

"Excuse me? You're busy? Vegeta, this is important! If you're arm isn't healing right- Vegeta? Vegeta are you listening to me?"

Only the Prince wasn't listening any longer, his eyes were glazed over as his world began to descend into an inky darkness, drawing him back into the state he'd been in, after Zarbon left him for dead on Namek.

How is this-?

()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()

Where am I?... Not here again.

Around him was the same inky black darkness he remembered from before. Saiyan eyes looked about at his surroundings, trying to find the little wretch which brought him back here. So what was it this time? Was it an explanation? It didn't matter much to him, deceiving Vegeta was a very quick way to get dead. Turning about quickly, he could feel another presence.

Opening his palm, Vegeta gathered energy into a massive orb in his right hand. His eyes locked onto the shadowy figure in the darkness and unleashed it. The blue orb illuminated everything around it, and for a brief second he almost saw the face of his victim. But the blue orb was torn asunder by a single gesture from the young man, who tore it in two with a flick of his wrist. The two halves of the energy fizzled into the nothing and simply whisked away in this strange, alien environment. However, the Prince stood there, his eyes widened as he gazed at the shadow clad figure who had stopped his attack as if it were nothing.

Another one... not another one stronger then me...

"Are you finished yet, Vegeta?" the boy asked, his voice sounding frustrated. "This is important, you have no idea what's coming, I need to try and warn you."

"The same cryptic, childish way you tried to warn me before? Or are you to encourage me with lies again?" Vegeta responded, his voice ever cold and distrustful.

After the complete fabrication that had been fed to him the first time by... whoever the Hell this was, Vegeta was in no mood to listen to some moron, even if he was seemingly strong enough to stop his blast. If he was so damn strong, then why didn't he take care of these pathetic problems himself? Why did he need him at all?

"Listen, I can't arrive in your time line right now, but everything is coming apart there. There are three beings, jumping through dimensions and time lines right now. They'll be arriving in your timeline in several years, during or after another major crisis happens. You need to work with Goku to-"

That was enough, Vegeta was done. Work with Kakarot? Every other word the young fool spouted fell on deaf ears as Vegeta pridefully turned his head up.

"In several years, boy, I will be a Super Saiyan, and I will take my place as the strongest being in the Universe. No one will be able to challenge me, least of all that stupid fool Kakarot! I am the Prince of All Saiyans! Now if you're done babbling about nonsense, I have to train."

The words were less then kind, and sharp as they could ever be, the figure was left speechless but just seemed to shut down for a moment. Stepping forward, he grabbed Vegeta by the face, for a moment revealing blue eyes as the Saiyan preparing to fight back, before a horrible vision flashed before his eyes.

Screaming in agony, Vegeta stepped back, holding his head. Visions of nonsense flooded into his mind, in a scattered, chaotic order, his brain couldn't make sense of anything he was seeing. In a brief moment he saw more then he should have seen in a decade, only it couldn't be organized, and as quickly as it arrived, it seemingly disappeared.

"What-... have-... you!-"

"If you won't listen to me, Vegeta, then you can at least live through the nightmare. Turles, and Raditz, could become a threat to the Earth, and you. There are three demons coming Vegeta, but I'm just going to leave you with the one you're responsible for."

In the inky darkness, the figure slowly started to disappear into the background, leaving Vegeta to wallow in the darkness and chaos in his mind as it tried to cope with the memories which were not his own. Finally, one of the visions compiled into a clarity he could see and understand, it was short, ever brief and distorted, but Vegeta could see the unfamiliar glow of a Super Saiyan aura.

All around it was flames, and screaming pathetic, weak people. Three figures stood within the order, but he couldn't make out two of them, to the back. In the middle of the two however, stood a figure with a curved, confident, satisfied smirk. It was all too familiar, almost like looking in a mirror in many ways. Hair which should have been black, was instead gold. A hand being on a curved hip, was joined by a furred Saiyan Tail wrapped around the waist of the young woman.

With a half laugh, she pointed her finger towards a figure burning in the flames, one which Vegeta couldn't make out. The only words he heard uttered were...

"This one is mine."

A wave of energy washed away whatever pitiful creature it had been. A Super Saiyan, one which bore a striking resemblance to him, barring its gender. Slowly, the realization dawned on Vegeta just who this person could have been. A threat from the future he was responsible for?

Above her, above the other two shadowed figures, hovering above the flames, he could see a darkened figure revealing itself as a laugh echoed through the darkness like an eternity. For the briefest of moments, Vegeta thought it was Kakarot. But it only took those moments for Vegeta to realize exactly who it was.

Turles.

()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()

Eyes shot to life as Vegeta looked about the room desperately, before noticing he'd been laying down. Looking around the room, he realized very quickly it was the same medical facility he'd been in when his arm was broken. But before all this happened he'd been talking to the blasted blue-haired woman and-

Clearly, she'd taken him to this miserable little triage facility. Looking down at his arm, Vegeta realized it looked fully healed. With a smirk on his face, the Saiyan Prince slowly rose from the bed, looking down at himself. Ripping the IV from his arm, he thought it strange they'd have to stick him with a needle-

Suddenly, Vegeta came to the realization something must have been very wrong for this planet's medicine to be providing him with sustenance through a tube in his arm. It was a moment later that the door opened, and the Saiyan Prince turned to the opening. The form of the blue haired woman stepped through, before she almost jumped back in shock.

"V-Vegeta!" she gasped. "You're awake?"

The question grated his nerves. Almost snarling a moment later, Vegeta sneered at her.

"Of course I'm awake, are you mad? How else would I be standing here?" he snapped back with an annoyed, gruff tone.

The shock quickly left the blue haired woman, as she glared back at him dangerously. It was clear he'd just managed to unleash her fiery temper. It was irritating as well, but at least he could be amused by her making a fool of herself.

"You idiot! You've been in a coma for a week! No one could figure out what was wrong with you," she shot back angrily. "But I guess a primitive jerk like you wouldn't even care to ask why you woke up in a hospital room with an IV in your arm."

A week? That wretched vision inducing, shadow-boy from the Kais know where, had managed to put him in a coma for a week? Why? How?

A full week without training?! A full week meant!- KAKAROT!

"Where is Kakarot?" Vegeta demanded, his eyes blazing with seriousness. "When did he get back? I must speak with Kakaro-"

The look on the woman's face somehow told him something he couldn't believe. Kakarot had not returned. Which meant that either the Dragon was unable to bring him back, or-

"Goku is alive, but he didn't want to come home yet. He's been out in space this whole time, trying to get stronger and gain control over his new strength. He promised everyone he'd be back as soon as he could be though! And if I know Goku-"

"His name is Kakarot. His brothers call him Kakarot, I call him Kakarot. He's a Saiyan, so refer to him as Kakarot. And quite frankly it doesn't matter if you know him or not, I will find that cursed fool even if I need to follow him myself," Vegeta growled, before stepping in front of Bulma.

"Get out of my way," he growled, leaving the blue haired woman to step aside, looking slightly frightened of him. Good, she knew when to back down at least.

There had been a ship that her father had been working on in this blasted compound. With his arm better, it was time to train, but better yet, it was time to find that softhearted imbecile Kakarot. After he found him, it wouldn't take long to become a Super Saiyan himself.

Then the world could burn, as well as the shadow-boy and his ridiculous prophecies. There was no reason to trust him after his false promise of immortality. He didn't even fully understand what he wanted, but it was of no matter now.

Within several moments, Vegeta was outside, and approaching the door of the space ship, and approaching the gateway to his future as the most powerful being alive.

Goku's House:

Turles:

If I moved the one known as Goku to the check-in Station, he would die.

It can't be done. The one called Goku refuses to return, and says he will return later.

The words of the Eternal Dragon mocked him even now. Not merely because he wanted to become a Super Saiyan himself, but because it was ever yet more behaviour he didn't understand. The Saiyan known as Turles, son of Bardock, brother of Raditz and Kakarot, didn't understand. Supposedly Kakarot was supposed to be a paragon of virtue, and instead had decided to leave his wife and child on this world, undefended, save for some weak Namekian and his yet weaker brother. What did he trust in? That Vegeta, or himself, wouldn't take advantage of his absence?

Clearly, Kakarot was a fool who would not be on top for long. Though of course, Turles didn't realize the irony of the situation, which was that he really hadn't taken advantage of Kakarot's absence at all. Training was so far, yielding very little in regards to new strength, and he hadn't made any progress towards his goal of becoming the next Super Saiyan.

Moving through the darkened home, Turles continued to reflect on Kakarot. Kakarot, the great one who was supposedly his better, according to his own father. Kakarot, the saviour of the galaxy and avenger of their race. Kakarot, the perfect son. It wasn't what Bardock thought of Kakarot, which bothered Turles, as what he thought of the brainless fool meant very little. The part that bothered him was, despite how strong he'd become, despite how he was on the verge of being the next great ascendant himself, he was nothing to the old fool.

The worst was he had no way of just blocking him out, that just wasn't possible.

Before arriving in the Son home, now late at night in order to pillage their kitchen and sleep in the room he'd chosen for himself, against the wishes of Kakarot's witch-wife. It was stunning to him that any human, let alone Saiyan, would tolerate such a harpy. Perhaps it was her ability to cook, or her looks, which kept Kakarot around. Though honestly, Turles was beginning to think of it as stupidity on Kakarot's part.

Wearing a two-piece suit this time, dark grey just as before, Turles grasped the handle to the fridge, about to open it when for the four time since he'd been on this planet, he heard the most annoying question in the galaxy.

"Goku?" a tired voice whispered. "Is that you?"

It was dark, there was no light in the house save for what was provided by the stars outside. But of course, with Saiyan eyes, Turles saw exactly who it was. Wrapping herself in a house coat and looking exhausted, but hopeful, Chi-Chi stood there looking into the darkness with a kind of eagerness hidden underneath her tired frame. It was something he never understood. On the very first day they'd met, she'd called him Kakarot's Earth name as well, and now when she heard him come in at night, she called him again.

Behind her, several meters away, Raditz slept on the couch, half his giant body sprawled on the floor. Turles's sympathy for him, was remote. Still, all the same, Chi-Chi did step forward, as Turles's attention refocused on her.

"I am not Kakarot, woman, why can't you get that through you're head?" Turles growled in frustration.

Immediately her stance became rigid and defensive, moving upright as her eyes glared ahead, almost melting two holes in him, but he ignored the stare easily enough.

"Oh, it's you," the response came from Chi-Chi in an icy tone. Every time she looked at him, once she realized it was him, she was uncomfortable. The resemblance between the two was of course, uncanny. Had they grown up on the same world they likely would have looked the same save for scars.

"You'd wait here until you died of old age, waiting for that ridiculous fool Kakarot, wouldn't you?" Turles bluntly asked her, turning towards her as he closed the fridge door.

The question was of course, direct and to the point, and designed to offend. But instead, she just proudly stood there, her chin up and her eyes peeled towards him. There was no intimidation from his words, no shame, only strength. For a moment Turles was even taken back by it, before he hardened his own jaw, remaining in place.

"It's late, you should get to sleep," Chi-Chi told him after a few tense moments. "In the morning we'll have breakfast, if you're up in time I'm sure you can get some before Raditz eats it all."

What the Hell was wrong with these people? All of them? Did they purposely allow themselves to get trampled, was that it? Was there some grand conspiracy on this planet to drive Saiyans mad? A moment ago he thought he was about to fight this woman, and now here she was, encouraging him to sleep and get food. It was stunning to him, because there had never been an environment like this across the hundreds of worlds he'd seen.

Looking into her almost black eyes, Turles finally nodded after a moment, as if understanding. She wanted peace in the house, and she was attempting to be a 'good' host. It was a custom he understood from other civilizations, though how the humans went about it was awkward. All the same, for a brief second he no longer thought of the harpy-woman as mad, but rather Kakarot as being undeserving.

As if the thought hadn't crossed his mind, Turles smirked, giving off his usual vicious appearance, he stepped towards her, before rolling his eyes and side stepping past her.

On his way to the room, he quietly resolved to make sure that Kakarot's kid started to get proper lessons on how to be a Saiyan. Undoubtedly the boy would hate him after he killed Kakarot, but that wasn't the point. The child was the next generation, despite his parentage, Saiyans like Gohan were the future for the species.

All the same, he opened the door to the room and flopped down on the made bed. Another thing he hadn't expected, was for Kakarot's woman to even try to maintain his room. It was a nice surprise to say the least.

Quietly, Turles closed his eyes, not realizing what agony sleep would bring.

()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()

This isn't a dream.

Looking about, and all around him, Turles recognized exactly where he was. This was Namek. Which of course would normally imply that this was a dream, but there was one determining factor making him realize that this was much worse then any dream could hope to be. Standing in the middle of the blue grass wasteland, was a familiar face. In fact, the face mirrored his own, save for a different skin tone, and a scar being born on his left cheek.

Bardock, his ever so loving father who had betrayed him and left him for dead on Planet Namek. In fact, worse then that, he'd literally died on the planet due to his intrigue.

Tightly, Turles closed his fists as he started to approach him. This was the fool who helped steal his own chance to be the one to slay Frieza, and remake the Galaxy in his own image. It was his chance to be the true power behind everything, with no one to oppose him. And for what? To make sure Kakarot got his precious place? And to make sure he was food for the worms, as Bardock had put it before.

"Bardock," Turles almost seethed, his face twisted with a barely contained fury.

Not here again, I can't keep dealing with this idiot.

Why lash out physically, when he could hardly harm a dead man in a 'dream'?

Looking squarely back at him, Bardock's face was as cold as Turles's. Despite the animosity that existed between the two of them, it was interesting that it was Turles who had killed Dodoria, avenging Bardock's crew, and had found a small piece of a soul in defending the future of one of his family members. But as of now, they stood opposites to one another.

"Tarles," Bardock said stiffly in response.

Wincing before almost spitting furiously, Turles shot back.

"It's Turles you idiot."

Rolling his eyes and giving a casual shrug, it was clear Bardock didn't particularly care about remembering his son's name.

"Tarles, Turles, it all sounds like failure to me," Bardock quipped in response, before sighing reluctantly.

So, he had a reason for calling this little meeting. It was all because he needed something again. Maybe he should have thought of that before getting himself killed by Frieza then? Or better, perhaps he should have thought of that before getting Turles killed by Frieza. The resentment that passed through Turles's mind was almost overwhelming.

"Spit it out, old man," Turles sneered.

"Everything is still in flux, it's all in Chaos," Bardock said, as if Turles would know what he meant, or alternatively, cared. "You'll be a Super Saiyan, soon."

That was something Turles had heard before, and the last time that promise had cost him his life. It was by no means being taken on faith again. Not a chance in Hell.

"After you become one, you must work with Kakarot, or everyone will die."

Work with Kakarot? After he became a Super Saiyan, he was going to have to work with Kakarot? After he became a Super Saiyan, he would grind Kakarot's bones into the ground. If anything, this all made sense now. Work with Kakarot, to coddle Kakarot further. The lengths which Bardock went to favour the idiot of the family was stunning, perhaps almost overwhelming.

"I'll defend him as well as you defended me on Namek, old man," Turles shot back, his words burning with embers still.

It was the casual, and perhaps irritated shrug that Turles noticed a moment later that nearly made him bristle. The day he had the power to simply pull himself away from this telepathic state with Bardock, would be a great day. Sadly, it was not this day however.

"I didn't think you'd be such a whiner about it," Bardock said, clearly not caring too me. "Now, Tarles, it's very important that you work with- urk!"

The sentence didn't continue as Turles grabbed his father by the throat, lifting him into the air. The smirk Bardock gave him after a few moments was telling however.

"Do you really think I'd let you hurt me here? Now put me down before I get serious," the words of his 'father' were demeaning at best. With a frustrated growl, Turles dropped the other Saiyan, knowing full well how fruitless it was.

"I'm not going to repeat myself again, Bardock, my name is Turles," Turles reiterated, his voice sounding grated. "And I'm getting tired of all these pathetic warnings and orders of yours."

Recovering quickly however, Bardock barely seemed to notice the comment. Instead, all Turles could see was him continuing where he left off.

"It's very important that you work with Kakarot. I don't care if you resent him. It's much worse for everyone if you don't, because you'll all be killed," the old man's voice cut in.

There was no chance in Hell that Turles would carry through with that, especially after the falsehoods he'd been exposed to the last time he'd dealt with Bardock and his ridiculous visions. No, this time he'd do whatever he wanted. All the old Saiyan had done was confirm to him that he would ascend, and that that he'd be a threat to Kakarot. Which meant he could spoil his precious plans. Slowly, the sinister smile grew on Turles's face as he looked at his father.

"Was there anything else?" Turles asked, sounding more amused then anything.

"Yea, stay the Hell away from Kakarot's brat and woman," Bardock remarked simply. "I told you that before, but you don't listen so good."

Narrowing his eyes on Bardock, Turles quietly resolved to ignore that as well.

"Well, thank you for the great insight, Bardock, but you did forget one important point," the younger of the two chuckled. "I do what I want. When I become a Super Saiyan, I will cast Kakarot's ruined body to the wayside, then I'll bring Vegeta and Raditz to heel. Don't think for a moment I won't. I'll stick around with that boy of his and see if I can't make a real Saiyan out of him as well. The woman also cooks food for me as well, so why the Hell would I listen to that either?"

It didn't take long for Turles to let loose one more salvo however.

"You're just an old, washed out fool who was killed by Frieza. Good. For. You. I however, am going to be the one known for the revival of the entire Saiyan Race. History will fear and remember me, and you'll be lucky enough to be referenced at all, and if you are, it will just be a side note that you were my father, and nothing more."

It was a cruel twist on the words Bardock had delivered to him, months ago, on Namek. Each word clearly drove a nail deeper and deeper into Bardocks pride. The scowl his father now wore was unbelieving satisfying for Turles to look at.

"Don't take any deals from Raditz either," Bardock snapped. "It'll just create more problems for everyone. This is the most important one of all of them Turles. Do not cut a deal when Raditz needs you to-"

()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()

In a flash, Turles's eyes burst open when a small hand had grabbed his, urging him to wake up. Sitting down with a groan, Turles shook the sleep from his head before turning and looking at his nephew. The kid which Bardock had ordered him not to be around. So, maybe that would mean he could have some influence over Kakarot's brat. What was the worst that could happen?

Besides, he could do whatever he wanted.

"What is it, kid?"

"Foods ready," Gohan told him simply.

For a moment, Turles almost ran over the kid to get out the door, but instead rushed to get out of the bed and get dressed. As he walked into the kitchen, he was trying to tuck his shirt in, as his physically largest, and eldest brother, was devouring food by the truckload.

"Raditz you bastard!" Turles quickly snapped. "Leave some for me, you feedbag!"

The tall, long haired Saiyan looked up from the bowl of noodles he'd been eating, his mouth still chewing, before he swallowed it down, and only responded with a burp.

What the Hell kind of deal was Bardock talking about anyway?

Author's Notes:

Let me start by saying that this chapter has been rewritten from scratch several times, and I've changed the concepts behind it four or five times, because I really didn't know what to write. This is the last interlude chapter before a big event coming next chapter, which doesn't really feature any of the main cast. I've had Chapter 41 written since I wrote Chapter 10, funnily enough. Its been through a dozen revisions since I wrote it, but it's a very old Chapter.

Also, I know this chapter carried over some themes from the previous chapter, but it ended up being the best iteration of this chapter. Trust me, I hated writing this chapter. A lot. I'm terrible with these kinds of filler chapters, especially since this one really just needed to get done. It felt more like a chore then fun.

On the next point. To people begging me to update sooner when I've not updated for a month, as there were a few of you, I unfortunately have this thing called real life, which has a tendency to get in the way somtimes. Please understand this. I'm not abandoning the story, it's just not easy to produce these things. Also, I've got an absolutely gargantuan chapter to write for The Long Road, which could delay a Catalyst chapter not next month, but the month after.

You guys will get one, great Chapter in February, it's already written, so I promise it will come your way.

However, I can also say, Acts 3, and Acts 4, have an immense number of major villains appear, and are action packed.

Next Chapter, expect to see new faces, and don't expect any input from Raditz, Vegeta, or Turles. It will be a... Cold Reception.

Reviewers:

Simgr101:

There are a lot of interesting things which will happen involving different villains, I just don't want to spoil. :)

Jason9000:

I hope this chapter answered the question as to who was a bigger asshole. The answer? Both of them. Lol

AlphaShennon:

Trunks meddled? I think the better quesiton is... which Trunks?

DaOneInDaCorner:

I believe King Vegeta's power level was higher then Bardocks, and I also don't believe being in Hell inherently raises any power levels. :(

Tomorrow4eva:

Don't worry, things end up being a complete shit show with Bardock, Raditz, and Turles. I can't wait to get to the Raditz side of the problem. In the Third Act, Raditz may be involved with the biggest disaster... but who knows? ;)

super mystic gohan:

I haven't read BTTL or Guardian to be honest, so I don't know. I generally avoid stories with a similar subject matter, not because I don't like them, but I feel they can corrupt the creative process for what I'm writing, which I don't want to happen.

RedHunter87:

Saiyans in Hell get little to no boost.

I also believe Cold could transform. But remember, transforming is very stressful, and King Cold is very old.

In this story, power levels are contained inside the story. Some characters are stronger then others. For instance, Slug is a Super Namek. And he'll be treated as a Super Namek in terms of scale of power. Cooler is stronger then Frieza, while in his 5th form. In fact... you may find out by how much next chapter... cough

FightingChampion:

Heh, it's easier said then done to let things like that go, especially given Bardock's personality. But yea, I expect that Turles will wear clothes which he thinks provides him with a sense of authority and status, which usually means suits.

Cosmic Cannon:

Cooler's coming... Chapter 41 is gonna be big.

Demod20:

This is thankfully, the last filler / Visions chapter I need to do for a long time. I can't wait until Goku gets back -.-

xxxpossessedforlifexxx:

Thanks.

NatNicole:

Uhm, that's the whole point though! Lol

anonymous:

I'm not gonna lie, as my Author's Notes has said this very clearly, Power Levels are kinda bullshit. People take them incredibly seriously, but I really don't. The power of the character matches the role in the story. I don't believe in generic "Super Saiyan" bonuses being x10 or x50 or whatever, because I don't think it should work that way. If people get offended by that, then, feel encouraged to read someone elses' story. I'm not writing this to MathHammer an entire story, I'm writing this to explore characters and their struggles.

The fighting is just a biproduct of that. You'll also note, Toriyama himself got rid of power levels after Frieza, because they were always kinda bullshit.

ShadowLDrago:

You'll get to see how that goes down soon enough...

Dark Impaler:

Eventually, down the road, there will be one chapter that will largely just explain how the timeline is getting so fucked up. There may also be a 100,000 word, 5 chapter story I intend to write called Utopia, which explains it all in depth, but that's a long, long, LONG way away.

Lugol's Solution:

Probably, oh well. Lol

As to power levels, look at my above commenter. I do have power levels for 'internal use', but even then I change them at a whim because it's not about the Power Levels...

Gaugh:

Spoilers!:

The Catalysts will be revealed in... Act III!

OuterSpaceHoooker:

Thank you very much :)

aFanAddict:

This chapter had the Balls used, off screen if you will. It's implied in Turles's piece.

WoW:

Yes, Turles is an asshole.

Wait:

It had to be dropped if I wanted to finish the Frieza Saga. And after so many chapters, I desperately wanted to complete it.

Coldblue:

This obsession with Raditz or whoever getting to a certain point needs to kinda stop. That's not what's important to the character's story arc. If Raditz never became a Super Saiyan, but his story could be told, then that would still make his story interesting and good. Raditz plays a gigantic role in the story, especially once Goku gets back. He'll be as strong as he needs to be for the purposes of the story.

And as to the questions. I can't really answer any of those. Sorry. But I will say that Tarble is planned to enter at SOME point in Act III.
