Time goes by so quickly I never realize how long its been since an update until I start writing a new chapter.
Jane was laying in bed, hands resting on her stomach as she laid on her back. Frankie and her had a few beers until Frankie had fallen asleep on the couch. She was waiting for a response from Maura seeing if she was coming back to her apartment this evening, it's been an hour since she sent that text message.
It was crazy how much Jane missed Maura after being apart for only a few hours.
She sat up quickly reaching over to the bedside table when her phone dinged, signalling that she got a message. She grinned when she read that Maura was right outside in the hallway. Jane got out of bed and quietly walked through the living room, careful not to wake her brother, who was snoring pretty loud anyways. Jane opened the door smirking at Maura. "God how much I've missed you." She looked down to see Jo Friday, on her leash. "Nice to see you too."
Jo Friday panted happily, wagging her tail. Maura smiled. "I took her for a walk before I came up. I figured that you wouldn't mind."
"Of course I don't mind," Jane stepped to the side to let Maura in.
"Korsak told me what was going on with Frankie when I picked Jo up. Is he doing alright?" she asked as she bent down to release Jo from her leash.
Jane shrugged, "As good as one can be after shooting someone who might've been unarmed. I hope for Frankie's sake that this guy had a gun, because if he didn't I don't know what Frankie is going to do."
"He's tough and has a good judge of character. I'm sure that other guy had a gun."
"How sure?" Jane asked, she needed a little bit of hope for her brother.
"I'm uncertain, but I'm hopeful. Although killing someone for the first time could cause Frankie some trauma no matter what the outcome."
"Yeah because that sounds promising," Jane scoffed, she wouldn't ever wish this on his brother. She wanted him to be okay, she needed for him to be okay. "Maura, I'm scared for my brother."
"I know you are Jane, come here," Maura opened up her arms and Jane stepped towards her, feeling Maura's embrace. "It's going to be okay, it has to be... If he has a hard time I can help him, try to get him through this."
"It's not your job to help Maur."
"He's your family Jane, I'd help him through whatever it is he struggles with, like any of your family."
"You're so good to us Maura."
"It's what I do," Maura kissed Jane's shoulder, slowly pulling away from Jane. "Come on Jane, I think it's time we get some rest," she grabbed Jane by the hand, walking her to her bedroom. Jo Friday in tow making it in the room before the door was shut.
Jane kicked off her shoes, sitting down on her bed, Maura looked at her partner. "Don't you want to sleep in pajamas?"
Jane shrugged, staring at her, "I'd prefer to sleep naked next to you."
"But Frankie is right outside and Jo seems to want to join us in bed."
"Ugh so many obstacles," Jane rolled her eyes. "Jo Friday can sleep on her dog bed, and Frankie isn't going to see us. Unless you're going to be too tempted."
"We've held our feelings for each other a secret for over five years, and we're officially dating. Of course I'd be tempted, being in bed with you, us both naked."
"I don't think we've kept our feelings to ourselves for five years, I didn't actually realize my feelings for you until you started dating Jack and you said you'd help raise my baby with me. I'd been attracted to you since I had to go undercover at the lesbian bar though. When your breasts were just, right there in my face."
"Well perhaps you realized you liked breasts five years ago."
"Mostly just your breasts. I didn't realize I even liked women until going back to my high school reunion, you know when we were fake dating for Giovanni. Maura listened to Jane's story, she honestly was surprised, not sure where this was going, she didn't like to guess. "You contacted her after you and Casey..."
Jane nodded, "When you first started dating Jack and I was feeling replaced by him, then when I ended up losing my baby I didn't know who to talk to, so I called her up. After I got out of the hospital, her and I met up, I invited her to my place so we could talk, since I know I couldn't talk to you while you were with Jack that evening. One thing led to another and well we didn't have sex exactly because once she touched me down there, that's when I realized the only one I wanted touching me down there, anywhere, was you. Her and I were naked, I actually felt completely exposed and sort of ashamed. I think what also did it is when she touched my hands, I didn't like that feeling, I only ever met you touch my hands, my scars. You know me better than anyone. She seemed to understand what I was feeling so she didn't get upset. Told me to keep her number if I ever needed someone to talk to."
"Wow this was something I wasn't expecting to hear. I always wondered when you realized you wanted to be with me, I'm glad that I understand a little better now. I am glad that you realized you didn't want to be with her, and I'm sorry I stayed with Jack so long even after my first night with you. I should have just let him go, I shouldn't have made you feel exposed and ashamed either."
"You were confused and scared and I could tell you really liked Jack. I shouldn't have made you feel like you had to choose. I would have understood if you want to be with him."
"I don't think you would have understood, I wouldn't have understood myself either. I was scared, but I knew I liked you more than Jack, but I was being an idiot. I made you feel like shit and I'm just, I'm so grateful that you chose to forgive me, to let us be what you and I were probably always meant to be."
"That's water under the bridge..."
"Not the one you jumped off of I hope."
Jane chuckled, "Come here," she stood up, taking in the essence that was Maura Isles. "All is forgiven or else we wouldn't be here today. I'm glad I opened up to you about that, so now you know what I was going through," she lifted up Maura's shirt, taking it off. "You're the only woman, the only person I ever want, for as long as you'll have me."
"You'll always have me Jane, no matter what life throws at us. It's you and me, against the world," Maura spoke softly as Jane reached behind her back to unclasp her bra, letting it fall to the floor.
"Definitely," she lowered her head to drag her tongue over Maura's nipple.
"Jane, what about Frankie, he's right in your living room."
"You shouldn't worry, if he can sleep over his loud ass snoring, I can please my girlfriend," Jane reached down to unbutton Maura's pants, slipping her hand into her panties, stroking her ever so lightly. "Jane, we're supposed to be getting ready to fall asleep."
"Kissing your neck is very soothing to me," Jane brushed her tongue against Maura's ear. "Your skin tastes so good though," Jane muttered. She pulled away to snuggle up next to Maura, "I don't want you to feel tempted though, so I'll stop," she kissed the top of Maura's head. "Sweet dreams, okay?"
"Sweet dreams Jane. See you in the morning," Maura reached over to turn off the lamp light, curling up next to Jane's warm naked body.
Jane is so very worried about her brother, we got some details about Jane's feelings, when realized she was into females and how she realized Maura was the one she wanted to be with. They talked about the whole Jack thing, finally getting some real closure about that, and it all leading to some real Rizzles sexy time which I'm sure you were all glad to read about.
