This is a few shorts in 1 chapter. I can't really expand them all and I don't want to leave small chapters after chapters. I don't have much confidence on how will this format fare so please tell me how you like this. All that, and I have not much time to write long chapters these days.

Procrastination

Procrastinate. In the dictionary it means to delay or postpone action/ put off doing something.

Many viewed it as a sign of the laziness of a person. The sign that they do not have the deisre to put their effort into doing anything.

That was what Issei Hyoudou did. And he paid the price.

It was another week of the routine where Rias Gremory visits Issei and the pair would do any fun things they can think of. Hide and Seek, Bingo, and more.

But this visit was different from the usual agenda. Rias was informed by Miki that Issei had procrastinated his homework and was forced to stay at home to finish it.

Still with the desire to be with Issei, Rias asked if she could help Issei with his homework. At first Miki was hesitant, but Rias let out a fact that relief her concern.

"I cant belive you're older than me..." Issei groaned as he continued to write his answer in his science homework, his weakest girl took a sip of the green tea given by Miki. "You never asked. Plus, does it mean anything much?" Which was true. Neither minded their age difference anyway since it doesn't affect anything in their lives.

"You're not bad at doing these work you know. You just need some hints." She commented before giving a deadpanned expression. "Or you're just lazy."

The boy whined at the last part. "But school sucks. I wanna go on an adventure like the Shounen Jump characters."

Rias frowned, suddenly felt uncomfortable about this. "So you want to go out there and risk your life to help people?" Despite the glorification of the battles the characters went through, she could tell its not a pleasant experience if it applied to normal people.

Or devil, depending on who you asked.

"Okay, maybe it's not as epic as what Jump depicted. But I want a break from all these once in a while to enjoy some power fantasy." Issei appreciated the mundane, but there were times he wanted something exciting to give him some fresh air. His time with Rias were exciting (except this time) but, somewhere in his mind, wanted to go beyond.

"I guess I understand that." Rias nodded before sipping the tea again. "Just... I guess I like where we are now instead of going for more." Boring? Maybe. But peace and quiet were better than constant battle.

She shuddered at a particular memory involving Serzech.

"I supposed you're right in a way." Issei agreed before putting his focus on his homework. "Let's get this done then we can play MonHun."

That, she can get by. With a grin, she replied. "Sure. Let's take Fatalis down."

Summer heat

The harsh blazing sun shone down on the Hyoudo household.

Issei and Rias laid on the porch, feeling their body melt like ice creams. There are some plastic packs and wooden sticks around the porch. The pair tried to stave off the heat with ice cream and fan, but it barely did anything to their situation.

"Ise..." Rias weakly called him out despite being beside him. "Can you get more ice cream?"

"No..." The boy groaned like a zombie, his voice barely recognizable. "Mom said no more ice cream even if it's too hot..."

Rias unconsciously rolled to Issei and used his shirt to wipe her own sweat. As she wiped her sweat, she sneakily took a sniff of his shirt and noticed a few distinct scent.

The first was his sweat, which was unpleasant to smell. The second was, as she dubbed it, 'Ise's nice scent'. The last one was surprising, as it was not there the last time she accidentally sniffed him during an afternoon nap with him.

It was the smell of a dragon. It was weak, so it could be the reason why she didn't noticed it. Even so, it's a dragon!

'There are two possibilities for why he got that. He's either a child of a dragon, but that would mean his parents are one and they would have recognized my family name. Or it could be the work of a Sacred Gear.' She thinks to herself as she continues to sniff the boy's shirt.

"Uh... Rias-chan? Are you done wiping your sweat on me?" Issei asked with a small blush on his face. The girl, realizing what she had done, quickly removed herself from him and rolled to away. The pair stayed silent for a while, unable to hide their embarrassment.

Scratching his cheek, Issei decided to break the silence. "Do you... wanna take a cold shower and stay indoor?"

Rias didn't respond for a moment, thinking to herself before curling up. Her cheeks were now just like her hair color when she spoke softly. "If you don't mind we shower together."

That, the boy don't really mind.

Inflatable pool

"Keep going Ise!" Rias cheered as Issei used all his efforts to pump air into an inflatable object. Said object was an inflatable pool that was brought by Rias. The week before, the pair realized that ice cream and staying indoors was not the best solution to stave off the heat.

Sure, they can shower and wear thinner clothes. But they prefer being outdoor and laze around like cats than staying indoors and play games all day.

It's the summer! There should be plenty of outdoor fun! Even if it's still around the house.

With one last pump, Rias quickly plugged out the exit end of the pump and quickly seal the hole. With the first part done, the pair grinned ear to ear and fist bump at job well done. The inflatable pool was big, nearly covering the backyard of the house but still have space for them to walk about.

"Good work Ise." Gorou pat the head of his son with a proud smile. "Now both of you go and change. I'll fill up the water." The pair nodded and went indoors to change to their swimsuits while the man fill up water for them to play.

When Issei came out with a red swimming shorts with a Abaranger logo on it. 'Nice to see it still fits.' He thought to himself before feeling a tap on his shoulder.

The boy turned around and found Rias in her swimsuit. She wore a crimson one piece with frilly ends around the collar part. The young girl giggled as she noticed the small tinge of red on the boy's cheek, who was 'analyzing' her.

"You look nice with that swimsuit."

Another giggle. "Thanks Ise. My parents picked it for me." She looked down on the boy's swimming trunks before recognizing the logo. "Is that Abaranger swimming trunk?"

The boy nodded with a grin on his face. "Yep! Grandpa got it for me when he came and visit."

"Kids! The water is ready!" Hearing the father's call, both of them instinctively took each other's hand and ran to the pool. Before Gorou even said a warning, the pair jumped into the pool with laughter.

Like I said before, these shorts are something I came up with but can't see myself to expand upon it. I want to have an opinion on whether this type of format will work or not. Don't worry, I will be putting up full chapters when I have both the time and when the chapter has more plot relevance.
