Chapter 21: Vilgax Escapes
All of the pirates were rounded up and locked up in the brig. "Well, I for one feel better about myself." Liam said. "And I believe that I have learned a valuable lesson." The pirates then started beating up Liam. In the next cell, Vilgax sighed and pocketed his hands, until he felt something in his right pocket. He pulled out his hand to reveal Myaxx's keys. He smiled and hid the keys.
Later that night, Ben and Kai woke up to the sound of a big splash. They got up to investigate, only to find a shocking discovery. "Vilgax!" Vilgax had escaped the brig, loaded all the treasure into a lifeboat and was preparing to row away. But he heard Ben's loud whisper and saw him and Kai approach. "I suppose you 2 will be blowing the whistle on me now?" He asked. "I suppose we will. You have to return to Bristol to stand trial." Ben said. "Sorry, kids. I've got a terrible fear of hanging." Vilgax said, pulling out a pistol.
Kai put the whistle to her lips and Vilgax cocked back the hammer. But they couldn't muster the courage to perform their actions. "I could never harm you, Kai. You're honest, brave and true." Vilgax said. "I learned that from my friends, Vilgax. Now take your oars and go. I never want to see you again, ever." Kai said, fighting tears. Vilgax took the oars and started to row. "Oh, Ben!" He tossed something to Ben. It was his compass. "Shame, really! Take care of her, Ben! We'd have made a great team!" Vilgax called as he disappeared into the fog.
Now Kai let her tears fall. Ben comforted her as she cried. "Well done, you 2." Azmuth said as he, Gwen, Kevin and Zed came out. "Your grandfathers would be proud." Ben and Kai nodded as they took each other's hands. Just then, Myaxx walked up. "Captain! I have most distressing news. One of the jollyboats is missing, and I know for a fact that it was terribly unsafe." She said. Everyone looked out into the fog.
Vilgax's boat was sinking fast. He abandoned it and started back for the island.
