Thirty-Eight: I Got Over You

St. Bart's

Molly was looking at the latest body and she was not expecting the knock on her door. She looked up to see someone she had not expect it.

"Hello Dr. Hooper?" he told her.

"Thomas, correct?" Molly played dumb, she knew exactly who this man was.

"Yes, I came to speak with you." Thomas said. Molly had a feeling that she knew, what he wanted to speak about.

"I'm rather busy at the moment."

"When do you have a moment?" Thomas asked. Molly didn't want to admit, but she had remembered that a lot, Thomas was very stubborn and if he had questions, he would get the answers to them. It was one of the reasons that she had fallen for him in their last life. Even if all he felt for her was a small affection, she could still remember his reaction, when he found out Bella was dead that he became more withdrawn and distant a widower even if he had a wife.

"I will be working late; and I already took lunch." Molly told him.

"Well I can pick you up later tonight." Thomas said with a smile.

"I…" Molly began but he grabbed her hand.

"Please do me the honors." Thomas asked.

"Why?" Molly asked.

"You remind me of someone I used to know." Thomas said. He just like her knew who she had been. He also knew that he hadn't been the most affectionate of husbands and he wanted to at least be her friend.

"Oh." Molly said.

"I also have questions about Joan, you are a close friend of hers correct?"

"Yes, I am." Molly said and looked at the body ignoring the pricks of tears in the corner of her eyes.

Sherlock was trying to get them out of his home, Joan was out working, which he still didn't understand, and 'They' had decided to visit. He will admit that he had an idea that it was Mycroft's fault.

"Well I am happy that it's all over." Mrs. Holmes was telling him. His parents were talking.

"Sherlock, I'm home." Joan said walking up the stairs. She opened the door, she saw the old couple sitting there. "Hello."

"You must…"

"They were just leaving." Sherlock said helping his parents get their things.

"What, if it's for a case." Joan said. She saw Sherlock push the couple outside. "Really Sherlock."

"My parents are not a case." Sherlock told her.

"Those were your parents?' Joan asked opening the door.

"Yes, of course."

"Why did you tell them to leave?" Joan asked.

"They had to go, Mycroft promise to take them somewhere."

"Okay, if you say so." Joan said, Sherlock knew that she didn't believe him too much about it. "Speaking about parents…"

"We weren't."

"Anyways, my parents want to speak with you."

"Regarding."

"I don't know, but it was my Dad who asked for you to meet them." Joan told him

"Very well." Sherlock told her. "Have you spoken to the Dwarf?'

"He is not a Dwarf anymore, he is almost as tall as an Elf." Joan said with a smile. She knew that Thomas had been calling her and that he had almost come to them.

"Still have you spoken to him?"

"What would be the point, is not like he can change anything?" Joan mentioned.

"I suppose." Sherlock was smiling at that. He had made it clear that he wouldn't lose his Thief to a Dwarf once more.

"I told him, that we could only be friends. I think he understood."

"The fact that you are an engage woman should help cement that." Sherlock said.

"Exactly." Joan said with a smile touching the ring in her finger, this time not being a curse thing, but an object given by love.

"I still don't appreciate the Dwarf that holds affections for you." Sherlock told her.

"Okay." Joan said before kissing him, something that she did openly, and Sherlock did not mind at all. He knew that things were changing, and Mycroft was going to steal Joan soon so that they could meet their parents.

Molly was trying to have an excuse not to meet Thomas and she knew that she could call someone. She grabbed her phone and dialed a number.

"Molly, what's wrong?" Lestrade asked.

"I need a favor." Molly said.

"Alright, well do you want to come to dinner with my family?" Lestrade asked.

"Yes, thank you." Molly said.

"Well, I am still not doing here but Garret can go and pick you up." Lestrade said.

"You are the best." Molly smiled and said her goodbyes to Greg before she began to finish up her paperwork. she let her mind wonder, before she noticed the door opened and saw Garret standing there.

"Greg mentioned that you will be coming to dinner with us." Garret mentioned.

"Yes, I cannot thank you enough." Molly said.

"I do wonder the reason that you wanted to come to dinner?" Garret said told her.

"He was being very helpful."

"He always has been." Garret mentioned with a smile.

"I thought that you guys were planning on the wedding." Molly said.

"Yes, it's going to be rather private in Erick's and Charles Manor. It will be the first wedding before you know the big one." Garret says with a smile. Molly had to smile at that one, everyone in the circles were talking about the upcoming marriage of Joan and Sherlock.

"They have actually begun to plan it?"

"No, it is going to be mostly manage by most of us, we have gotten a few ideas from his older brothers assistant." Garret mentioned to her.

"Are you sure they didn't get married in secret?" Molly asked.

"Honestly, we don't know." Garret was smiling just seeing the ring being put in Joan's finger right after the deal with Moran. As they were walking out the building someone was coming forward.

"Molly." Thomas said standing in-front of them.

"Durin, is interesting to see you here?" Garret mentioned.

"I do wonder the reason you are here Greenleaf?" Thomas asked.

"Well we invited Molly to dinner with the family two days ago and she is helping with some ideas for my coming marriage, as your aware I will be getting married once more to my Detective Inspector." Garret was getting straight to the point, knowing that Molly was trying to avoid him.

"Is that true?" Thomas was looking at Molly straight in the eyes.

"Yes, I forgot about the dinner with all the work I have done." Molly mentioned putting her hair behind her ear.

"Okay, have a great dinner." Thomas mentioned.
