"How do you lose a small human?" Maze asked as she walked with Lucifer to look for the child. He'd told her what happened and insisted she help him search, as she was the only demon that could be trusted not to harm the kid.

"I'm not in the mood, Mazikeen. And as you said, she's a small human. They slip past you easily. Besides, it's not my job to keep an eye on the child. Her mother should've been watching her," Lucifer said.

"I thought you were locking them in anyway," Maze said.

"When I'm not there. I didn't see the point when I was home," Lucifer said.

"Well, I think we found a point," she said.

"Alright, Maze. I said I'm not in the mood," Lucifer said.

"You should find a way to deal with the other demons. These human's don't seem like they're going away anytime soon. You can't keep them cooped up in your house for eternity," Maze said.

Lucifer said nothing as they turned the corner onto another corridor. They stopped dead with what they found. The child was standing in the middle of the hall with a demon knelt in front of her.

"Or maybe you don't need to deal with the other demons," Maze said in shock as she looked at the kid. She had Lucifer's mark all over her. It was like something was going off inside her telling her that the kid was Lucifer's. No demon would dare touch her. Hence the demon in front of them was knelt in front of the kid in worship.

"My name is Squee, my Princess. If I can ever be of service, please just ask," the demon said to Trixie.

Trixie giggled. "You're funny."

"What on Earth?" Lucifer asked in disbelief.

Trixie turned to Lucifer. "Hi, Lucifer. Are you and Mommy done fighting now?"

"My King, why didn't you tell us you'd produced an heir? The others will be so excited," Squee said.

"She's got your mark. We recognize her as yours," Maze said.

Lucifer could only guess that his father had done something to see to the child's safety in Hell. Apparently, he wasn't a complete bastard. "Yes, well, you should return to your work, Squee. Come, child.

Trixie immediately ran to Lucifer. Then she looked to his friend. "Hi. I'm Trixie. Your face looks really cool."

Maze looked at the kid as though she was somehow broken. Then she turned to Lucifer. "Is insanity normal for human spawn?"

"How should I know? I typically avoid them on my trips to Earth," Lucifer told her before turning back to the child. "Come on. Your mother is worried about you."

Trixie nodded and grabbed his hand to walk with him.

Lucifer immediately stiffened as the child latched onto his person. He was tempted to pull away, but decided it might be for the best. The last thing he needed was the child wandering off and getting lost again. Next time, she might just wander into a Hell loop.

Maze followed them as they walked. She wanted to meet this woman Lucifer had been saddled with now. She wondered if the human woman would also be marked as protected.

"Is Mommy mad?" Trixie asked.

"I would imagine so. Your mother always seems to be angry. However, in this case, she can hardly be blamed. Your mother did tell you not to leave the house, didn't she?" Lucifer asked.

"Yeah, but it was getting boring staying inside every day, and I don't like hearing you and Mommy fight," Trixie said.

Lucifer had no response that. He couldn't exactly blame her for that. He didn't like it when his parents would fight either, which they seemed to do for centuries on end. He supposed it wasn't fair to force the child to listen to them fight. It wasn't her fault any of this was happening.

"Why do you have to yell at Mommy so much? It's not her fault you're mad at your daddy," Trixie said.

"Your mother yells at me too," Lucifer argued.

"I know. You and Mommy are both being dumb," Trixie said matter-of-factly.

"I am not," Lucifer protested.

"Are too. You keep blaming Mommy for stuff that you're really angry at your daddy for. Mommy does too. It's stupid for you to blame each other because your mad at someone else," Trixie said.

Once again, Lucifer had no response. The child wasn't exactly wrong. He supposed it wasn't fair to blame the human for his father's actions. She hadn't asked to be created as some sort of gift for him, nor to be sent to Hell with her child and her free will taken away. Still, it wasn't his fault either and she continued to try to make it so.

"Do you hate your dad, Lucifer? Sometimes I hate mine," Trixie said.

"You do? Why? Has he harmed you?" Lucifer asked, his eyes going red for a second. He didn't know why, but the thought of anyone harming this child made him want to exact revenge. If the spawn's father had touched her, Lucifer would make him regret it.

"Your eyes do that when you're really mad, don't they? No, Daddy never hit me or anything, but he doesn't see me very much anymore. I was supposed to go see him the night me and Mommy came here, but he broke his promise again. He does that a lot," Trixie said.

"He sounds like a douche," Lucifer commented.

"If that means mean or stupid, I think you're right. I'm kind of glad I can't see him anymore. He can't break his promises anymore," Trixie said. She did still miss her daddy sometimes, but it wasn't as bad as when she'd get excited to see him and then he'd break his promise to take her. He was just gone now, so she didn't expect to see him. It was better.

"Hmm," was the only response Lucifer had as they continued to walk back to his home.

Trixie turned back to the lady next to her. "What's your name?"

"Maze," was all the demon said.

"It's nice to meet you. Your name sounds really cool," Trixie said as they kept going.

Chloe paced the living room with both worry and anger. She couldn't believe Lucifer had locked her in here while he went looking for her daughter. Actually, yes, she could believe it. He was a complete ass. He'd have no problem leaving her behind like this,

Chloe had tried many times to ram or break the door down, but it wouldn't budge. All she could do was sit here and pray that Lucifer found Trixie.

Soon, the door opened, and Lucifer walked through with Trixie. Maze was right behind them.

"Thank God," Chloe said as she immediately ran to her daughter.

"I don't know why you're still thanking him for anything. What favors has he done for you lately?" Lucifer asked.

Chloe ignored Lucifer and hugged her daughter. Then she caught sight of the woman behind Lucifer. Half the woman's face looked human while the other half looked demonic. Chloe immediately backed away with Trixie still in her arms. "Who is that?"

"Mommy that's Maze. It's okay. She's Lucifer's friend. She's nice," Trixie said.

"Kid, I am not nice," Maze protested. There was seriously something wrong with this human offspring.

"I met another one of Lucifer's friends too. He was really nice too. He called me a princess!" Trixie gushed.

"What?" Chloe asked confused.

"Oh, by the way. This human is marked too, only as your mate instead of your heir," Maze told Lucifer.

"Of course, she is," Lucifer said dryly. "Thank you, Mazikeen. You may go now."

Maze nodded and headed out.

"Bye, Maze," Trixie said as she waved.

Chloe knelt down to Trixie's level and turned her to face her. "Trixie, what were you thinking? I told you we couldn't go outside! And even if I hadn't, you know better than to go anywhere by yourself!"

"I'm sorry, Mommy. I just didn't want to listen to you and Lucifer fight anymore," Trixie said sadly.

Chloe sighed. She knew she shouldn't have let that happen. Trixie didn't need to listen to her and Lucifer yell. It wasn't far. Still, it didn't give her daughter the right to disobey her. "That doesn't make it okay for you to run off. Anything could have happened.

Trixie nodded and looked down at her feet.

"Go get ready for bed. We're going to talk about this some more when I come in to tuck you in," Chloe said.

"Okay. Good night, Lucifer," Trixie said before heading for her bedroom.

"Your child isn't wrong. She shouldn't have to listen to that," Lucifer said.

"That's as much your fault as it is mine," Chloe snapped. A voice in the back of her voice told her that wasn't true though. Trixie was her responsibility, not Lucifer's. It was on her to make sure her to diffuse as situation if she didn't want Trixie to see it. Still, he had some responsibility. He was responsible for fighting too.

"I'm aware. Your child pointed out to me that we're both blaming each other for things my father has done. She's not wrong. I can barely stand to look at you because you're a manipulation of his, and it makes me angry that I'm stuck with you. But I suppose that isn't truly your fault. You're as much a prisoner in all this as I am," Lucifer said.

"I've done the same to you. I was literally made for you, and I resent the hell out of you for that, even though I know that you didn't ask for it. It's just that I was pulled out of my life and forced with someone I don't know and who my entire race was taught to be afraid of. There's also the fact that it turns out that God is not only real, but a straight up dick. It's a lot for me to take in, and I took it out on you. It doesn't help that you can be a real ass. Again though, it's not right. Look, I don't want my daughter to have to be around constant fighting. She saw enough of that with her father and me. Can we call some sort of truce? We are going to have to deal with each other, after all."

"Yes, I suppose so. I believe a truce is our best option, Hum… Chloe," Lucifer said.

"Thank you, and thank you for finding Trixie. I don't know what might have happened to her if you hadn't gotten to her," Chloe said.

"Actually, it probably would've been alright. The demons won't hurt either of you. Apparently my father at least made sure you would be safe while in Hell. You're marked as being protected by me," Lucifer said.

Chloe thought about that for a minute. "Actually, now that I think about it, your father did say something about us being safe here. I guess I just forgot about it with everything else."

"Yes, well, that means you may wander around if you like, but I advise you not to open any closed doors. It will probably be quite unpleasant if you end up in someone's Hell," he said.

"Okay. I don't know if I'll be doing that anytime soon, but thanks. I'm gonna go get Trixie to bed," Chloe said before heading out of the room.
