One More Time

44. Sign of Three

Three Months Later

Everyone seemed to have been moving at a speed, Sherlock had to go back to the hospital but this time he was in Elrond's cared, which stopped any of his escape attempts. It made Joan happier as she was there with him every step of the way. Something that surprised Joan was the request Sherlock had made.

"You asked Thomas, what?"

"Don't make me repeat myself," Sherlock told her. "I was going to ask someone and since you asked Molly, I believed it would be the logical choice,"

"You asked Thomas Durin to be your best man," Joan said surprised. "He shot you,"

"He threw you off a Mountain," Sherlock told her. "I think it would be a great opening for friendship,"

"I suppose," Joan said. "What did he say?"

"He said that he would it," Sherlock replied grabbing her hand. "I want to make it great for you,"

"You will," Joan replied.

Wedding Day- Xavier Manor

People moved in a hurry trying to get everything to be perfect as this was technically the wedding of the century. Decorations were flying around, and people moved everywhere.

Sherlock wouldn't stop pacing, he didn't know the reason he was nervous, he shouldn't be. Or he did know it was something he had been keeping his mind going for the past few days.

"How is he?" Lestrade asked as he saw Sherlock moving around.

"He hasn't stopped moving," Thomas said.

"Well, you are going to thank me later," Lestrade said as in his hands were files.

"Sherlock sit down for a minute," Lestrade said "I brought you something,"

Joan on the other hand was just as nervous, but she couldn't think to much as all the girls were moving around her. She was worried the dress wouldn't fit her. The good thing about having ex-dwarves as friends is that she got her dress fixed.

"You are going to look beautiful," Ori told her.

"I don't know," she told them.

"It's just wedding jiggers," Moly told her.

"You are about to become Mrs. Sherlock Holmes in a few hours,"

"The nerves are not helping, and I just lost my breakfast," Joan told them.

"It's natural," Ori calmed her. "I was feeling the same way when Daniel and I got married,"

"I suppose," Joan told them.

Everything was quiet as Sherlock was standing there waiting for Joan to arrive. When the music began, he looked down before Thomas poked him on the side and he looked up and he just stared. Joan was walking down the isle by both her parents, and she looked like the most beautiful being to him. When she reached him, he grabbed her hand and just looked at her.

"I don't think we need to tell you to take care of her," Eric said. He was ignored as both Sherlock and Joan only had eyes for each other.

"Brother," Mycroft said after the ceremony.

"Mycroft," Joan said smiling blocking the brothers from fighting.

"You have not stopped smiling," Mycroft told her.

"It's our wedding day," Joan told him.

"It is rare," Sherlock told her. He hadn't let her go, he looked at Mycroft and he motioned with his eyes, but Sherlock shook his head.

"I suppose congratulations are in order," Mycroft said surprised as he hadn't expected this kind of news.

"Yes, well I should thank you since I know you also financed some of the wedding," she told him before she turned and saw him.

"Oh my, no he didn't," she said pulling from Sherlock and walking over to the man.

"It's him," Sherlock said

"She looks happy to see him," Mycroft mentioned.

"She doesn't mention him at all," Sherlock told him.

"She has spoken much about him," Thomas said standing next to the brothers.

"She speaks about him?" Sherlock asked.

"Yes, she doesn't shut up about him," Thomas said. The three of them turned to see them. "Says he is the most unsociable man he knows,"

"He is the most unsociable," Sherlock said.

"I can't believe that you came," she told him. "I thought you didn't do these things,"

"I do for old friends," he told her.

"I'm glad that you are here,"

Thomas was not nervous as he stood and looked around.

"I believe that we can all admit that this is the wedding we didn't believe would happen, but we are very glad we did," he said. " when I was asked by Sherlock to be his best man, I didn't know how to react but unlike many of you I could see the logic on his choice, you see if it were up to them Sherlock and Joan would be each other's best person as you all know and seen these two have gone through the trials none of us expect to face all the things they did,"

Sherlock pushed off the table as he looked around trying to solve the case. Joan nervous and they both ran to save her old Major.

"Solve it," Joan told him.

"I... I..."

"Solve it," Joan said Sherlock looked at her and began to think.

"Don't take off your belt," he told the Major.

"What?" the Major asked.

"Don't take of your belt you already dead, you've been a few hours ago,"

"Only they would solve a murder in their own wedding," Eric told Violet.

"You have to admit it is only fitting," she told him.

"I suppose," Charles said as they saw both Sherlock and Joan danced.

"I can't believe it," Joan told him.

"You knew we would be married," he told her.

"I know that, but we solved a case," she said with a smile as he spun her around.

"The first family case," Sherlock said before stopping himself.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"I didn't want to say anything until we were alone," Sherlock told her.

"Sherlock," Joan said.

"You've been sick for the past few days, increase in appetite," he told her. "I think you need to take a pregnancy test,"

"We're going to be parents," Joan said and wrapped her around him. He kissed her and to everyone it just seemed like a couple being happy but to them it was much more important.
