"Ddddddddddaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddddddddyyyyyyyyyyyy!" The echo could be heard from every corner of the house and, seeing as they had bought not only Jordan's old apartment but the two next to it as well after a developer had purchased the building, it was a pretty big space now.

"Offt." Nigel huffed as he caught the girl and swung her up into his arms, "There's my princess! How was your day?"

Jordan lingered, a small smile on her lips as she watched their little reunion.

A couple weeks back Garret had, for some ungodly reason, asked Eilís who her most favorite person in the whole world was; Nigel's name (which these days seemed to be synonymous with "Daddy!") was out of her mouth before Garret had finished the question. Nigel had puffed up like a peacock and playfully jested, "Did you hear that? I'm her favorite."

Jordan knew he didn't mean any harm by it, but a piece of her mom heart had been bruised, even though she knew what it meant to be a Daddy's girl.

There was nothing quite like the bond between a father and daughter. Jordan treasured the fact that Nigel and Eilís had such a relationship, even as she mourned the loss of her own, and she took comfort knowing that Nigel would never do anything to jeopardize what he shared with Eilís.

As their little girl chattered his ear off, Nigel let his eyes roam around the room until he found Jordan. His smile grew as he started towards her.

"—and then Maddy got purple paint in Eloise's hair! Ms. Morgan said it'll be dyed for weeks!" Eilís giggled.

"Is that so?" Nigel replied, his face lovestruck as he gazed down at his wife. Eilís just giggled again and snuggled her head into her father's shoulder, watching her parents.

"How was your day?" Jordan asked as Nigel snuck his free arm around her waist. She sighed into him, always content in his embrace.

"Much better now that I'm home with my favorite girls." He stole a kiss, "I was thinking we could grab take-away tonight? Hmm? Maybe some crispy beef from Yang Chow's?" Nigel tempted.

Jordan wrapped her arms around him, her chin resting on his shoulder, as she smiled, "You read my mind."

Eilís made a face and Nigel made one right back; Yang Chow's was far from a favorite of hers, "You'll survive, little luv. Come on!" He kissed her nose and began readying her for their venture out.

Though their daughter would always be Daddy's little princess, Jordan was still the queen.

And a queen always got her crispy beef.
