Tatsumi in the World of SMG4: Night to Remember Episode Five: Retracing Steps Part Three: Exchange & Confession

Chapter Synopsis: The boys have been arrested for their reckless actions the previous night. Can they manage to exchange a deal with the police for their freedom?

Within the Mushroom Kingdom, Meggy and the girls were all bare as they were bathing in the hot springs. Since Kurome was rather keen into going for one, they decided to abide the wishes for her as her wedding was in the next day.

"Haaa, this feels really good!" Chelsea said, stretching her arm up in the air.

"Yes, it was a good decision to come here" said Mine with a very relaxed manner.

Meanwhile, Kurome had a smile of excitement for the wedding, to which Tari noticed.

"You must be very excited about the wedding, right Kurome?" Tari said while smiling at the soon to be wife of the Navy boy.

"Yes, that's right. It's just... ever since I fell in love with Wave, I feel so happy to be happy by his side" Kurome said with a smile.

Akame smiled seeing her younger sister. "I'm glad you have someone by your side, Kurome."

"Thank you, sister, although you know I wonder if you're going to have a boyfriend?" Kurome asked.

Akame was caught off guard by Kurome's question. "I-I don't think that's necessary, Kurome."

"Now that you mention it, I was wondering if you're interested in any guys on the team?" Leone asked her best friend while wrapping an arm around her.

"Nope, I see everyone as friends." Akame answered honestly.

"But didn't a guy confess to you?" Kurome said trying to remember.

"That was Green if you don't remember, he cared for me and also encouraged me. But in the end, he died in battle." Akame said.

The girls, with the exception of Esdeath (for obvious reasons), felt bad for Akame and Tari came up with a question to change the mood.

"Changing the subject, I wonder how the boys are doing right now?" Tari wondered as she and the others heard that they were going to spend in Tokyo for two days.

"I'm sure they'll be touring Tokyo or drinking in some bar." Meggy answered her friend's question.

"I wonder if Lubbock would give me a souvenir?" The Night Raid leader said quietly to herself.

"With Mario already tied up to a stick." Saiko said as she had sarcasm heard in her voice as she already thought of that.

"Same. Least they put that idiot on a leash in case he does anything stupid." Mine spoke, agreeing with the Yandere.

"Umm…maybe I should call them when we get out?" Meggy said. And that's when her cell phone started ringing at the side of the hot spring. "Oh, what a coincidence." The former Inkling said while looking at the other before she took her cell phone to answer the call. "Hello?"

"Oh, hello Meggy!" said Tatsumi's voice through her cell phone.

"Tatsumi, how have you and the others been?" Meggy asked.

"Well, today we were touring around Tokyo and seeing interesting places... and that." said Tatsumi only to later see that he was actually handcuffed to Lubbock while he was also handcuffed to Mario while at the Police Station.

"That sounds great but remember to get up early to come back, ok?" Meggy said. Reminding the others of what was about to happen tomorrow.

"Okay that's fine. Hey, I have to hang up now, see you." Tatsumi said about to hang up.

"Hey, wait, let Kurome talk to-" Meggy couldn't finish speaking when Tatsumi hung up. She then looked at the others who had confused expressions as well. "Has something happened with them?"

Now back in in the Capital City of Japan, the boys were sitting as they were handcuffed to each other.

"Well, what did she tell you?" Mario asked about his friend.

"Get up early tomorrow for the wedding." Tatsumi said as he rubbed the back of her hair.

"That would be a problem with the Wave thing," Lubbock said.

Then a policeman came towards where the boys are with a serious expression shown on his face.

"Tatsumi, Lubbock and Mario. Come here, now." The policeman said with a stern tone while pointing a thumb behind him.

C

The three were in the interrogation room as they were waiting for what they needed to be reminded of. Just then, a female police officer came into the room and looked at them with seriousness shown on her face. "Now then. Do you wonder why all of you three are here?"

None of them said anything. All that they haven't done anything wrong and all of them had no clue. "Um…no?" Mario said with a confused expression towards the police officer.

She let out a sigh before she showed them photos of the trio along with Wave graffitiing a lot of walls and them driving a police cop car. "You had the nerves to cause a lot of trouble and damage towards both the people and the public. You know what the damage will be?"

"No?" Mario said.

"You three will be answering the court in about the next three days and—"

"Wait!" Everyone turns towards Lubbock as he had a serious look on his face. "We know we messed up. But can we sort out a deal? I mean, yeah, we did cause a lot of damage and cause trouble. But you think we had the intention of doing it?"

"Of course, you three did." The male Police Officer bluntly stated as he crossed his arm over his chest. "Just because you are just tourists, that does not excuse all of you of doing those kinds of actions. You three should already know the consequences of your actions by now."

"Also, according to a recent medical report you were under the influence of Roofies drug as well as LSD or also known as Acid." said the female police officer.

"Roofies? Acid? What are they?" Tatsumi asked while Mario seemed to have heard that somewhere.

"They are drugs that make you lose consciousness and memory for a while, it is called 'the day rape drug'. And Acid can make you very hallucinate." The Police man simply explained to them.

"Umm... we lost our memory when we drank sake on the roof while hallucinating?" Mario thought and then began to remember when he went to buy the sake last night.

"What is in this special sake? Mario asked after purchasing the item for a hefty sum of Yen. He was in the side of the Convenient store as well call in by an Asian man who was very interested in what he was about to do with their friends.

"Roofies and LSD. It is a substance that your friends will love, I assure you. LSD is the same thing as well but can make you hallucinate good things." said the vendor who had the appearance of a Chinese man.

"Oh, if that's the case then they'll be happy. Thank you so much!" said Mario before leaving for the hotel.

The salesman watched him go and let out a giggle. "Heh, that fat Italian doesn't know what to expect." With that, be began to contact his friends to let them know what had transpired. For now, he needs to make preparations as he and his friends was about to prepare for the wedding that they were invited in.

"Uh oh…" Mario said realizing what he had done.

"Um...Mario?" Tatsumi asked.

"MARIO NEVER BUY SAKE EVER AGAIN!" exclaimed Mario as he was scared of the consequences that he had unintionally done.

"That wasn't it, Mario. I wanted to know if you had any ideas that could get us out of here?" Tatsumi asked.

Mario sighed in relief and put his hand on his chin to think and of all the ideas, he came up with one that might get them out.

"So, you have one?" Tatsumi asked.

"Let Mario handle it." Mario said with a mischievous smile.

"Ahem!" said Mario calling the attention of the policemen.

"Cops, have you ever heard of NFTs?" The Italian asked while putting both of his hands together.

The two Officers exchange looks. "NFTS?"

It was then that the Italian began to explain to them what thing NFT really was. As long as he talked more about it, the more that they got invested in. The two got interest about these unique cryptographic tokens that exist on a blockchain and cannot be replicated such as real-life items.

"And how do we start investing to these NFTs?" The male cop asked as he thought of making more money than this dead-end job.

This made the Italian's smile grow even wider. "I'll show you under one condition. You have to agree to let us out. That way, I can show you how?"

Well, it is safe to say that the deal went according to the Italian's plan. After teaching them about NFTs as well as helping to invest in it, he, along with Tatsumi and Lubbock, were outside the Police station. Their personal items were returned as well and the trio were beginning to resume their search for their friend, Wave.

During their walk, there was something that bothered Tatsumi. He was curious to know how two drug substances had manage to enter through their bodies and he had a good clue of who had done it. "Mario?"

"Yes, Tatsumi?" asked the plumber.

"The three of us passed out when we drank the sake you brought last night, right? Who did you buy it from?" Tatsumi asked.

Mario knew he couldn't hide it anymore, so he decided to tell the truth. "Emm... well, I bought it from a very friendly man, and he told me it was a special sake."

"And what was it that made it 'special'?" Tatsumi asked, raising an eyebrow in suspicion.

"It contained Roofies and Acid." Mario replied while he smiled nervously at them.

Tatsumi was stunned at what he had heard while Lubbock who had his eyes closed and smiling approached Mario.

"Mario…" Lubbock said. And with a quick movement, Lubbock began to strangle Mario.

"YOU'RE A F**KING FAT BASTARD!" Lubbock exclaimed furiously at him as onlookers were watching the scene. "NOW BECAUSE OF YOU, I'M MARRIED TO A FAT WOMAN AND THE ONLY THING I WILL GET FROM NAJENDA IS A 'CONGRATULATIONS, LUBBOCK' FROM HER! NOT TO MENTION THAT YOU ARE THE SOLE REASON WHY TATSUMI HAD LOST A TOOTH AND GOT AN OFFENSIVE TATTOO ACROSS HIS CHEST!"

Mario on the other hand, was gasping for breath. And Tatsumi who saw this knew that he had to stop this.

"Lubbock, calm down!" Tatsumi said as he placed a hand on his friend's back.

"How do you want me to calm down?! This idiot drugged us and made us lose Wave!" Lubbock exclaimed as he still held Mario's neck.

Then, after a struggle, Mario was able to free himself from Lubbock's hands and was rubbing his hands around his neck to ease the pain.

"Excuse me! I just... I want the four of us to have fun and have a great time, I want to be useful to you and not get in the way like I always do." Mario said with his head down, finally confessing on his actions. "You think I knew what it contained?!"

This made Tatsumi feel bad for him, he knew Mario was stupid, but he had a good heart only some people didn't notice in him. Like his girlfriend and he would hope that her attitude might change one day.

"I understand, but didn't you know they were Roofies and Acid?!" asked Lubbock who was now a bit calm.

"The salesman told me he'd make the four of us have a good time. Plus, I didn't know about that Roofies and Acid being in that drink!" He admitted with pure honesty.

"Guys, do I have to remind you that Wave is probably out there. Perhaps being naked on the streets and a weirdo would do things to him that we don't want to even imagine!" Tatsumi said. "Now, tell me are you calm now?"

"Yes!" answered both Mario and Lubbock.

"Okay, we should go back to the hotel and find clues again!" Tatsumi said after sensing that the tense moment is now over.

Lubbock and Mario also followed Tatsumi to the hotel. With everything happened today, they would only hope that they could find Wave before the wedding even begins.

Preview: Well, this had taken an unexpected turn. Mario had confessed to us that he was the one that drugged us, but he didn't put in the drugs. It must have been that man and perhaps after the wedding, I need to find out who exactly sold that drink to Mario. For now, we hope that we could think Wave before the wedding even starts. Tune in next chapter for Tatsumi in the World of SMG4: Night to Remember!
