'For Life And Death Are One'
"Help me take of this mask son..." Vader weakly said to Luke, "But you will die." Luke said helplessly, "Nothing can stop that now, please...let me look upon my children with my own eyes." He begged, as his final wish as Anakin Skywalker. Padme heard and held onto Leia's hand smiling up at her softly, weakly, she was holding on, she was fighting. Luke had removed Vader's masked and felt overwhelmed by the face he had seen, pale, burned, older...but his eyes, the eyes he saw in Leia very much. Leia too swallowed hard, Padme let her children have their moment with their father so she continued to look up to the sky taking deep breaths as she fought with every bit of strength she had left. "Luke...you were right about me." He said softly referring to their being good in him. Vader turned his head slightly to see his daughter, "Leia..." He said weakly, "I always wanted a little girl." He regret everything he ever did, her ruined any chance he had of being a happy family, but even in his death he was grateful he was given this moment. Leia smiled as her eyes filled with tears, "I'm so proud of you both...my children..." Anakin whispered once more weakly, Leia looked to him before Padme slowly turned her head to see Anakin for the first time since Mustafar, the first time in 18 years, "Anakin." She said softly as he too turned his head to look at her, his wife in 18 years, how he had missed her, taking her hand softly, "Padme...you must forgive me for the pain I have caused you..." He had to make this right with her before his death. Padme looked to their hands, although it wasn't his skin and his glove, holding his hand again felt so right. "Anakin...I am yours, in life and death I am yours...I will always love you." she whispered to him repeating the words she had once said to him, Anakin smiled a faint weak smile, "I love you...I always have." He whispered back, before slowly closing his eyes, dying peacefully with his children by his side, with his hand in his wife's, tears fell down Padme's face as she said her goodbyes to Anakin before she turned her head once more looking to her children, Leia too wiped the tears from her face holding onto her mothers hand, with Luke's arm around her. "You have both made me the luckiest woman in the world...you gave me life...you saved me, in so many ways." Padme said softly with a smile, looking up to her grown up children. "I love you both so much, more than you can ever know..." She added knowing she was too slowly letting go. Luke fought back his own tears, loosing both your parents on the same day was tough, even for someone with a hard skin. Leia cried out softly, "Don't leave us mom..." She said moving her mothers hand to her lips kissing it softly, "I haven't the strength anymore my loves...I'm sorry...thank you for saving your father...you have completed me." She said letting go off Leia's hand moving it to Luke's face, "You are going to bring such great things to this galaxy..." She said to the both of them with a smile, "I will always be with you...I love you." She whispered as her last words before she too passed away, Luke and Leia sat in silence in front of their dead parents, Luke comforting Leia as he looked around and saw everyone on their knee around them in respect, for their queen, for their senator, for the war heroes, and the loss of two good people.
Padme Amidala met Anakin Skywalker when she was just 14 years old, she fell in love with him after ten years apart, married him after the battle of Geonosis, had gone through so much in the 4 years they were married, fought, hated each other, loved each other, made plans for their future together, became a mother to his children, but she lost her Ani...18 years these two lovers were torn apart by a thing so evil that the galaxy feared it the most, they had both truly gone through so many things, more than any human could handle, but they did it, and now even in death they reunited, could love each other for eternity.
Luke had lay his mother and father together, before burning their bodies privately on Endor knowing that was a typical Jedi funeral, and he knew that Padme would want to be buried with Anakin. Leia was stood beside him as she watched her birth parents bodies burn together, their ashes mixing, moving her arounds around Luke he moved his arm around her as they comforted each other, saying their last goodbyes to their parents. It was hard, from the moment they were born they were forced to hide from a man they never knew, Padme had kept them so close to her they knew nothing else other than there mother. 11 years of it being just them, then being forced to flee their life as they knew it for a new one on Alderaan, forced to part from their mother for 7 years, only to be reunited with her and have such little time with her. It was hard but the pair of them knew this wasn't the end, they had a great connection to their mother and now to their father and Ben, they would always be connected. But, now they had to live their lives alone, they were so young and had gone through so much, but their lives were about to change once news spread across the galaxy of their victory. Their names would go down in history, as legends.
News had quickly spread across the galaxy and many celebrations had taken place across each of the planets, When the news hit Alderaan Mali smiled to both Bail and Breha Organa..."They did it." She said with a smile to them, feeling sad because she felt the losses but so happy that twins had fulfilled their destinies.
On Endor the Ewoks had set fires in the night playing music as the rebel alliance and the clans of Endor celebrated their victory, Luke took a moment and stood by a tree seeing Ben Kenobi appear before him as a force ghost, Luke smiled feeling Leia come up beside him she too being able to see him since she also had the same connection as Luke. Padme had appeared next to Ben with a smile as she looked to one of her best friends, happy that she had been reunited with him within the force, so grateful Ben had taught her how to connect with it. Luke and Leia smiled seeing their mother truly happy for the first time in a long time, Padme and Ben looked slightly behind them as the force ghost of a young Anakin walked up between them, Anakin smiled to his former master as they had forgiven him, before moving his arm around Padme kissing the side of her head, looking over to his children sending them a nod with a smile. Luke and Leia smiled looking to each other, as sad as they were they had lost both their parents and Ben, seeing them so happy in their force ghost form made all of this more bearable. Taking one last look at each other they all shared a heartfelt look and feeling before Padme had nodded at them, signalling for them to go enjoy their evening, that they deserved it, resting her head on Anakin's shoulder watching her kids go to celebrate their victory. She was truly happy, reunited with Anakin and her children could finally live the lives she had always wanted for them.
Han had grabbed Leia and pulled her to the side moving his arms around her waist resting his hands on her lower back softly, "What does a girl like you say to dating a guy like me?" He asked with a smug look, smiling up at him she arched her eyebrows, "A girl like me?!" She asked pretending to be defensive, Han rolled his eyes, "Shut up and kiss me..." He smirked, Leia smiled at his words before moving her arms around his neck leaning up to kiss him deeply. Luke saw and smiled, he was so happy his sister was happy, he was happy that his parents were happy, and he would be a little lost for now but he knew he always had them, all of them by his side and he would find his way.
For now, he was Luke Skywalker, a Legend.
Luke and Leia Varla, born 19 BBY.
Luke and Leia Organa of Alderaan.
Luke and Leia Skywalker, son and daughter of Padme Amidala and Anakin Skywalker.
Saviours of the galaxy, saviours of their father, saviours of their mother.
They were truly legends and their legacies would live on forever.
