4 BBY - Kura

5 years had passed. Leia 15 and Luke 5. How she had raised him since 10 she did not know, but she did it nevertheless and he was healthy and growing and safe. They never stayed in one place for more than a year, knowing someone one day would eventually find out their real identity. Leia had fought hard, strong, fiercely to survive. Padme would have been so proud. She spoke to her mother a lot, though she knew it was stupid since Padme would not be able to respond, but it comforted her in her hardest times. Not that she would ever let Luke see her struggle. She kept them hidden so well that even Obi Wan - despite his efforts - could not find them. Though to this day he still searched for them, despite the risk to his own life.

Leia had taught Luke how to walk, talk, read, write, defend himself all whilst still trying to figure out the wicked ways of the world she lived in. She was strong and had built everything from scratch, they never lived too far from the city yet never to close. Never drew much attention to themselves, never spoke to anyone, it was just the two of them, surviving. Leia and Luke Skywalker, the children of a fallen Jedi and a fallen queen.

There was heavy rainfall on Kura, it kept it quiet. No one ever liked to go out during the monsoons of Kura but sometimes it was necessary. Leia looked at their supplies and swallowed hard, "We're running low, we need to get more supplies." Leia told her little brother who was playing with a bit of metal, much like Anakin he was great at fixing things. Something Leia hadn't taught him. "But what about the rain?" Luke asked her, curiously.

"Where is your cloak?" She asked him.

"Here." He said going to grab it.

"This will be our last trip Luke, before we move on." She said softly. "No more monsoons." She added, grabbing her cloak and wrapping up, prepping for the rain.

"Why must we keep moving? I want to just stay in one place." He said softly.

"You know why Luke." she said softly. "I wish it weren't the case but it is. We must accept that." She said softly, helping him wrap up. "I promised you a safe life and I promise you again, one day we will live freely but for now, we just have to survive. The galaxy is a sad place right now, there are lots of dangerous people out there and lots of conflicts. We have to keep each other safe." She said softly.

"Always?" Luke asked.

"And forever." Leia whispered with a smile.

10 years had passed.

4 ABY - Tatooine.

Leia, who was now 26 years old, and Luke at 16 were living on Tatooine. After having to flee their last planet since the galactic empire had stormed the planet, destroyed it, tore it apart. It broke her heart that her father was still leaving this galaxy in such darkness. They had come to a lot of struggles, forced to fight and defend themselves, forced to flee, forced to do a lot of things no children should ever have to do. It was coming up to the 16th anniversary of the day she had lost everything and though she was a lot stronger at dealing with it, it still hurt her nethertheless.

She was out in the markets of Tatooine, fetching supplies whilst Luke stayed guarding their sand hut home. Her face covered since she looked too much like Padme to give anything away. Plus the heat of the planet was harsh on her skin. As she was collecting some items, she could hear talk behind her. "Have you heard about the empire's new plan?" a man said.

"A planet destroying weapon." another said.

"Let's hope it is just a rumor." A woman said softly, it was clear how much the galaxy feared their lives every single day.

"Anything is possible.." Another man said. Leia clenched her jaw, she couldn't keep her mouth shut.

"The empire will fall before they destroy another planet. There has to be someone out there willing to fight." she said simply before turning away.

"You are much like your father, Leia." A voice said to her from behind. She stopped in her tracks.

"I have no father." She said simply, before continuing to walk.

"Like both of them in many ways." He added again, following her. Leia just tried to ignore but he caught up, he was old, gray, she didn't recognise him at first.

Pulling her staff on him in defense, she held it up to his throat. "What do you want?!" She asked firmly.

"I've been searching for you for 16 years. The day you fled on your mothers ship killed me." He whispered. Leia's eyes widened and she swallowed hard. "Obi Wan?" She asked in shock.

"I am glad to see you are well, Leia…" He whispered. She looked around.

"I can't do this..not here." She said simply before walking away, allowing him to follow.

They sat on the rocks that overlooked her small sand home, where Luke was fixing up one of their droids. "He reminds me of him every single day. It kills me." Leia whispered to Obi Wan as they watched her brother.

"You have done well Leia, you have done all of us proud and I am so sorry this was the life you were destined to lead. It is not fair, for that, I have failed you." He said softly, Obi Wan had suffered a lot. Losing Anakin and Padme, as well as the thought of having lost the children and breaking his promise to Padme, all of it. Hurt a lot.

"Anakin failed me, he failed all of us." Leia said simply, unable to call him father. Obi Wan watched Luke before looking at her, who had taken her hood and mask off now.

"You look exactly like her." He whispered.

"I know…" She said softly looking down, "It is why I must cover my face, I cannot risk anyone making the connection." That killed Obi Wan, she couldn't even live her life freely. "Do you think it is true? About the planet destroying weapons?" She asked him.

"I do not know, the empire are unpredictable which is what makes them so terrifying." He admitted.

"Then I must keep moving, I cannot risk Luke getting hurt." She whispered softly.

"You have devoted your life to him Leia, it is time you set him free." Obi Wan said, Leia looked at him. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"He needs to be trained, his destiny is to face your father one day. He cannot go unprepared." He said softly, knowing Leia would very much object.

"No. Absolutely not. I am not going to send him into a death trap! The Jedi are gone and it is no longer our responsibility to fix the adults' mess." Leia said firmly.

"Well, now you are the adult and you are his children, it is destiny that his offspring save him. It is your duty."

"Was that all part of the prophecy of the chosen one? His fall? His children lived as orphans for 16 years, his wife dying at his hands. Was that all in his destiny too? In the prophecy?!" She asked a little angry, she got that from Anakin but she had so much built up emotions over the past 16 years, it was bound to come out. "I do not know my path, my destiny or my duty but It is not this. My father died when I was 10 years old, this monster that took over his mind is not my responsibility, nor is it Lukes." She said standing up. "I think you should leave us alone, Obi Wan. I've worked so hard to move on from the past, I do not wish to step back into it over a silly Jedi prophecy." She said simply. "Look at how well the last one turned out." She said simply before walking away.

Obi Wan watched her go back to Luke before looking up to the sky, "She has your fire Padme.." He whispered, before leaving himself.
