4 ABY - Naboo

"What are we doing here? Who is she?" Luke asked his sister, rather confused as they stood at Padme's mausoleum. This was the first time Leia had been to see her mother's resting place. She had watched the funeral from a far, watched as her people mourned her, as they carried her through Theed. Candles lit. It was heartbreaking.

"She's our mother." She whispered, running her hand over the concrete tomb, instantly feeling at ease.

"Our mother?" Luke asked, shocked, looking up at the mosaic glass in the window of the mausoleum. The tribute was amazing, it was beautiful and perfect for her.

"Her name was Padme Amidala Skywalker. She was a queen, a leader, a kind beautiful soul. She was everything I looked up to. She was my best friend and she was taken from me, from us." She whispered. "You spent all of 1 minute with her before she died." She added, trying not to get emotional. "She was perfect and you would have loved her."

"How did she die?" He asked softly, it was bittersweet and he felt a lump in his throat.

"The empire…" was all she said softly.

"And our father?" Luke asked, he wanted to know who he was.

"He too was taken by the empire." She swallowed hard, it pained her so. "His name was Anakin Skywalker, he was the greatest Jedi to have ever lived, he too was my best friend. But, he was a slave to darkness. He died the night you were born too and was replaced with something far worse." She whispered, looking at him. She could tell he was confused. "Luke we have spent our lives running from Lord Vader, the evil Sith lord I told you about when you were very little. The man responsible for the destruction of this galaxy, for killing our parents. We run from him because…because he is our father." She whispered, it was hard to finally admit it.

Luke's eyes widened, "What?" Leia couldn't even find the words. "How is that possible?"

"I was just a child Luke, I understand just as much as you. Ben is the one who can tell you everything you need to know." She said softly. "It is too painful for me but I had to show you who she was."

"She is beautiful, you look just like her."

"And you him…" she whispered, "Though you have our mother's soul. I see that she lives on in you." She said softly. "She always spoke of having a little boy, so excited to meet you. How she cared for you and loved you though she only got to know you from the depths of her stomach." Leia spoke softly, looking at her mother in the mosaic art.

"I wish I could have met her." Luke said softly, he was sad but happy he finally knew her.

"I do too." Leia said softly. They paused for a moment as they took her in, feeling her presence in the most soothing way.

"He's coming isn't he?" Luke asked, Leia just looked at him and nodded. "Then we have to fight. We have to put an end to all of this, save him. For her." Luke added again, he had Padme's bravery.

"There is no saving him Luke, he is too far gone." Leia added.

"I do not accept that you believe that. There must be some good in him, there has to be." Luke said rather optimistically.

"There is not." Leia said firmly.

"I know that is not true and I know she died knowing there was still good in him. I know it." He said to his sister. She turned to him.

"You have his optimism Luke, but he is gone. Our father is long gone and we must accept that." Leia told him gently.

"We have to try Leia. No one is ever truly gone. You told me that." He said softly, remembering when Leia had told him that their mother was still with them, only in spirit when he was younger. Leia looked at him and couldn't help but smile.

"I'm so proud of you Luke. You have grown into such an amazing young man." She smiled at him. "We will do this. We will bring him home…together." She said again knowing somewhere deep down Luke was right. Luke took her hand and smiled before they once more looked at their mother.

Walking back to the Falcon, Han watched as they came towards them in the distance. Luke and Leia smiling and laughing together as they walked before she stopped dead when she saw the red lightsaber pierce through Luke. "NO!" She screamed in pain, watching him fall to the floor before stumbling back and seeing Vader - though she had never seen him in person she had in dreams and so this was terrifying. "FATHER! NO!" She heard her younger voice scream out. "Anakin help me!" The voice of her mother. "I HATE YOU!" the voice of her evil father. "I will always be your father, no matter what." The voice of her father, her Anakin. Leia fell back onto the floor and covered her face.

"Leia, Leia…" She heard the faint voice come from in front of her as she refused to open her eyes. "Leia look at me." She heard her brother before opening her eyes. Both Luke and Han bent down in front of her rather concerned. "Luke…You're alright?!" She whispered out hugging him tightly, so tight she almost crushed the air in his body.

"Yes, I'm alright. Leia…" He choked out, holding her close and pulling back to get his breath back. "What happened?" He asked confused, concerned. Han arched his brow and had his hand on her shoulder.

Leia looked at the pair of them. "We have to go…now." She whispered out. Standing up and walking back to the ship with them, cautious, nervous, frightened.
