4 ABY - Somewhere on the Millenium Falcon
She watched as her mother and father reunited after a long 3 months apart. The way he held her, the way their foreheads rested against another's as they took each other in. The way they sway together slightly as his fingers caressed her cheek, as her hands lay on his chest. She watched as their lips touched, in something so beautiful and passionate, she longed to have what they had. A love like theirs. She couldn't wait to be grown, to be loved like that.
"I know you're there Leia.." She heard her father say with a grin, she was supposed to be hiding so she could watch but he somehow always managed to know she was there. That was hard for her 5 year old self to understand. She always said he was magic.
A 5 year old Leia came out from her hiding spot giggling before running to her father and jumping in his arms. She had missed him so much. They were best friends and the best team. She held one of her tiny arms around her fathers neck and the other around her mothers, as her parents held her between them before planting a big kiss on her cheeks, causing her to giggle.
"Oh Leia, how you have completed us." Padme whispered, taking in her daughter. Anakin smiled and watched his wife dote on their baby girl.
"I could never love anyone more than you two." He whispered, he was madly in love. Dangerously in love.
"We've got something." She became distracted from her thoughts by the sound of Han's voice.
"What is it?" She asked, walking over to him.
"There is a fleet in the depths of Endor. Looking to take down the empire and have vital information." He said simply watching her, as he leaned on the frame of the doorway. Leia nodded her head, "Then let's make our course." She said simply.
"Already on it Princess." He said, just as simple.
"I'm not a princess." She said firmly.
"Then what are you?! Who are you?! Because quite frankly, I've walked into this completely blind and I would like to know what makes you so important." He said quite arrogantly, causing her to roll her eyes.
She let out a frustrated and heavy sigh, "If you must know, I'm Leia Skywalker. The daughter of the feared Darth Vader." She said simply walking away.
"Great…" Han said to himself.
The Imperial Ship.
"Lord Vader, we have located the girl." One of the inquisitors told him.
"Then why is she not here?!" He asked furiously.
"We are making our way to her now."
"Where is she?!"
"There was a sighting of the girl leaving Naboo, on the Millenium Falcon. A ship owned by a man named Han Solo. Nothing but a smuggler Corellia." The empire had a way of finding out information and Han had made a lot of enemies in the past.
"Get me to that ship!"
"It was last located in the Modell Sector in the outer rim territories my lord."
Vader clenched his fists. "Prepare my ship!"
The Millennium Falcon.
Leia watched as they flew towards Endor, watching as Luke fixed the droid that had tagged along with them, reminding her once more of her father.
"What's wrong Leia?" Anakin asked, seeing his young daughter crying.
"It's Lola, she's broken." She cried holding up her small droid who had become her best friend.
"Let me see that." He said softly, taking it from her.
"Is she gone forever?" She asked him, moving her hand to his arm as she watched what he was doing.
"No my love. Nothing is gone forever." He said softly, kissing the side of her head. "And Lola will be easily fixed." He said softly, fiddling with a few of her wires, before she came back on.
"Lola!" Leia gasped in happiness, before hugging her father tightly. "Thanks daddy! You're the best and I love you so much." She said with a big smile.
Anakin chuckled, "I love you too, princess." He smiled before watching her run off into the fields and play with Lola.
She swallowed hard and hated how these memories, flashbacks, dreams and visions came to her so often now. She had controlled them for 16 years and now, she couldn't stop them. She watched as Han concentrated, admired his frame, his jawline, his passion, but then remembered how annoying and arrogant he was and quickly became disgusted. "That's it huh?" She asked seeing the large planet in the distance. She had never been to Endor before.
"Sure is. We'll be landing shortly." Han said with a smile.
Leia was about to say something when she saw Obi Wan's facial expressions change as she sat up. "Ben? What is it?" She asked, concerned, before she felt it too. Swallowing hard, she could visually see the ships appearing out of light speed in her mind.
"He's here…" she whispered.
She ran to the back window and could see the ships, swallowing hard. She had not been this close to her father in 16 years. Running back she took Han by the scruff of his shirt.
"You get Luke to safety, do you hear me?!" She told him firmly. "You get him to the rebel base, arrange a plan and do not let anything happen to him, got it?!" She said again. "Got it?!" She said a bit louder.
"Yeah, yeah I got it." He told her, shaking her off him.
"Leia?" Luke asked, seeing his sister visually concerned. Going over to him and moving her hands to his arms, "Luke, I need you to listen to me carefully. He's here, Vader is here. He cannot know about you, not yet. You have to go to Endor with Han, Chewy and Ben, get as much information as you can on the empire and you do whatever it takes to survive. Do you hear me?!" She told him firmly but in a loving way.
"Leia. No. You're not going alone." He told her, knowing exactly what she was thinking.
"Yes. Yes I am because I have too. If you go too, all chances of stopping him will fail." She said honestly. "It is me he is after, if I go I can buy you all more time. He won't see it coming. This is our only chance at victory, Luke. I have to do this…alone." She told him softly.
"No...I can't leave you." He said, holding onto her. "Let me come with you, we said we would do this together." He begged, they hadn't been apart from each other since he was born.
"And by doing this apart, we are doing this together. We both have duties to fill, this is mine. Yours, yours is to be the hero. To save the galaxy, I must confront him." She whispered.
"No..I…" He dropped his head sadly.
"Be brave Luke." She whispered. "Be strong, be resilient. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I could not love anyone or anything more in this world. But I must do this, we must do this. It is the only way." She whispered.
Luke looked at her with tears in his eyes, "You have to come back to me, Leia. You have too." He told her.
She swallowed the lump in her throat, she couldn't promise him that she would because honestly, she didn't know what would happen. Instead she smiled and held out her pinky finger, "You and I…" She whispered.
"Always?" Luke whispered, locking his pinky with hers.
"And forever." She whispered back, leaning her forehead down on his and closing her eyes as she prepared to fulfill her promise and protect her brother.
"Lord Vader! Incoming ship."
Vader looked out the window and saw a smaller ship leave the falcon. "Leia." He whispered.
