Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Prince of the Vampires. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Hotel Transylvania, Sony and a few others.
(Europe.)
Lennix groaned in pain as he pulled out of the sun. It was less painful then when a full-blooded vampire was doing it.
"Ow…" Lennix said while he brushed off his cloak and sighed. "And people wonder why I cover my skin… And wear a helmet." Lennix muttered as he sighed and looked around.
"Gotcha!" Mavis said as she clung onto Lennix. The vampire prince snickered and looked to the side.
"I thought you were taking in the sights." Lennix said as he blinked. "You can't sneak up on a vampire, Mav. Specially not the prince of the vampires." Lennix stated with a fang filled smile.
Lennix still questioned why Mavis wasn't an important vampire. He had been told by his mother when she was human who Dracula was. The man was supposed to be the king of the vampires and ruler of monsters.
Then again? Lennix guessed that he probably still was in his own way.
"I have… And am." Mavis said as she leaned on her boyfriend. Lennix rolled his eyes. "You didn't tell me humans have animal dungeons. I learn something new every day." Mavis said which was given a raised eyebrow.
Lennix hummed for a moment and turned to look at his girlfriend. He drew in his cloak slightly around Mavis. He almost wished sunblock canceled out the sun for them.
"'Animal dungeons?'" Lennix asked, bemused at Mavis's statement. "You mean zoos? The places where people look at animals from around the planet? Those 'animal dungeons.'" Lennix added as Mavis playfully slugged him in the shoulder.
It caused him to chuckle and playfully rub at his arm in mock pain. Vampires like him healed quickly. He almost wondered what the differences between him and Mavis were. They were 2 different types of vampires.
Then again? Lennix didn't really care at the moment. He loved Mavis, pureblooded vampire or not.
"Ok, Mr. fancy pants." Mavis said which got a shrug from Lennix who chuckled to himself. "You still haven't told me anything about your mother." Mavis said and was rewarded by a frown.
Mavis started to backpedal before Lennix shook his head. His mother was a sore spot from him, but Mavis had no real way of knowing that. He wouldn't fault her for talking about something like that.
"My mother isn't fully vampire…" Lennix said which got a raised eyebrow from Mavis. "Which means she isn't immortal like us. She's the one who raised me, just like how you were raised by Drac." Lennix added with a frown.
His father… Lennix refused to associate the man with the title. Fathers took care of you; they didn't only treat you as a weapon. Lennix hadn't seen his father since he was a small boy, and he didn't once regret that.
"Oh, well is she…?" Mavis asked, trying to avoid dancing on the issue.
"No, thankfully not." Lennix said, a smirk replacing his frown. "She'd like you. You think your dad can be a bit protective? My mom wouldn't stop gushing over me getting a girlfriend… She'll explode when she meets you. My mom is never going to let me live it down." Lennix said while humming.
Mavis playfully elbowed him in the chest. Lennix rubbed at his ribs.
"Easy, your going to break something." Lennix said while Mavis rolled her eyes and wrapped her hand around Lennix's. "Seriously though, 'animal dungeons?' I am SO telling your dad about that." Lennix said which prompted Mavis to pout and gently nudge him to the side.
Lennix wondered what his mother would think if she knew about Dracula. Would she fear the vampire? Question what Lennix saw in the man's daughter?
No, Lennix knew his mother. She was kind and brave and would always do what she believed was right, even if it wasn't always right.
"We should get back to the hotel." Lennix said while looking up at the sun. "Your dad is probably going to want to have my head impaled." Lennix said with another smile which Mavis shook her head at.
Did Dracula like Lennix? No, he was still building up the idea that his daughter was dating someone… Or ANYONE from last Mavis heard of him over the phone.
But that didn't mean he wanted Lennix hurt at all. He made Mavis happy. Even if he didn't like Lennix, he cared enough about his daughter to put protecting her first.
"Your seriously going to tell him about the zoo thing?" Mavis asked Lennix who shrugged playfully.
"No, but I will if I have a silly moment to." Lennix said with a hum. "Should be funny." Lennix said as Mavis shook her head with amusement.
"Your evil." Mavis put in as Lennix hummed to himself.
"No, I'm a vampire." Lennix said and cracked his fingers before he and Mavis begun their walk home.
Mavis hummed to herself.
