Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Prince of the Vampires. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own Hotel Transylvania, Sony and a few others.

(Europe.)

Lennix was nervous… No, being nervous implied he had doubts. He was more worried about how this would transpire.

"You know you've been implying you don't want to ask her…" Gom stated as Lennix looked over the photo he currently held.

"I'm more worried about how Dracula will react." Lennix said and shook his head. "How is mother, Gom? If I do ask? I… Want her to be there, she raised me. I think that's only right." Lennix said and got a sigh from the goblin general.

"She…" Gom started to say before cutting the sentence short.

How did one inform their master their mother was dying? She had been the one light of the prince's life. Lennix knew how human made vampires lived, they wouldn't last forever. Gom had dug into every resource available to ensure she carried life for more… But nature began to claim her, to fight that? Would not help anyone.

"She will not make it past 5 years, your highness… Maybe more if we are lucky, I cannot say for sure more than anything." Gom reported, lowering his head as Lennix looked over the photo.

"I…" Lennix said and clenched his other fist. "I'm going to show her to Mavis. My mother deserves to at least know who I want to be her daughter in law." Lennix said and tucked the photo into his pocket.

"I'll tell her of your arrival to the manor, Lord Lennix." Gom said and bowed before departing.

"Please don't die before you see your son grow up…" Lennix said before transforming into a swarm of bats once more.

His thoughts no longer lingered on Dracula. Mavis had wanted to meet his mother. Lennix would resolve to grant that request.

Mavis awaited on the path below. Gom had been the one to call the young prince away. Lennix was glad he hadn't told her yet.

"So, you were talking about where you used to live?" Mavis asked to which her boyfriend uneasily rubbed at his neck.

"Yeah, I was just talking with Gom about my mother." Lennix said while looking ahead slowly. "I was talking about you meeting her." Lennix said and hummed while crossing his arms.

"Oh, that's great!" Mavis said to which Lennix hummed and brushed dust off his helmet. "When did she want to see us?" Mavis asked while Lennix looked at the ground.

"Today if Gom remembers to tell her." Lennix said and crossed his arms. "Ow…" Lennix said before recoiling and dragging Mavis into the cover of trees.

The sun burned at the duo. Lennix could feel it through his armor, it cut into him like a knife into butter. He could only imagine the agony that it was giving Mavis at the moment.

"You, ok?" Lennix questioned Mavis who nodded, her skin baking in the sun.

"Yeah, I thought we were in the shade." Mavis said while watching as the burns started to fade. "Is that why you wear the fancy armor and mask?" Mavis questioned and looked at Lennix.

"Partly." Lennix said while looking up at the sinister orb within the sky. "But part of it was because people didn't all trust monsters. Anyway, we should go and see my mom before her… Curse gets worse." Lennix said and pulled Mavis along with him.

Mavis blinked and gazed at her boyfriend with confusion at this.

"Curse?" Mavis questioned to which Lennix frowned under his mask. His next words were delivered with sorrow and bitter regret.

"Its… Better you see for yourself." Lennix said as they made their way through the tree line.

Lennix rather hoped it was night before they arrived at his family home. He didn't know if he could spare the pain of staying in a place filled with so many personal memories.

And as he looked at Mavis who looked more confused than anything? He had a feeling he would have a lot to do.

"Mavis? Lennix questioned to which the vampire looked at her. "I have something important to ask you tonight. Something I want to ask incase my mother gets sicker due to her curse." Lennix said while sighing.

'Curse'…. Lennix knew that this was no curse. If it was? Then something could cure it, maybe Gom could have researched a rare plant, Lennix could have used his magics.

He sighed despite himself. If his mother was to bow out before a decade? Then Lennix wanted her last few years to be filled with memories she could cherish.

(1 hour later)

Mavis gazed upon the site of the manor where Lennix lived. It towered high, like some mountain fortress. Mavis looked upon grand turrets like the ones that formed her home protected the large stone castle. She almost questioned if the castle itself was built INTO the wall of the mountain as clouds blocked her view.

"Your mother was very protective, wasn't she?" Mavis joked upon seeing the row of goblins perched upon the wall.

"Hmm?" Lennix asked as they approached the large door that protected the towering castle. "Oh! My mother? Yes, she would be if she wasn't bedridden. The castle? No, it was built like this. My family went overboard with the 'noble bloodline' thing. I actually don't know how many vampires know about it." Lennix said before gazing up at the goblin archers.

They looked at Lennix who cleared his throat as he crossed his arms. Mavis giggled as she noticed the prince had frowned as if he had misplaced the door key… Then again? She also found that hilarious if her boyfriend did need a key for this home.

"Would one of you PLEASE open the gate?" Lennix asked while shaking his head. "I thought General Gom sent word that we were coming here." Lennix said to which the archers looked at each other.

"Wait, did General Gom…?" Lennix heard the soldiers question each other before one of them blinked. "Oh… I'm sorry, Lord Lennix!" Lennix heard while he brought up a hand to his face.

"Oy…" Lennix stated to which Mavis giggled at this. "I'm starting to wonder where Gom hires our soldiers at the moment." Lennix said while he rubbed at his temples.

"Such a dork…" Mavis said to which Lennix shook his head playfully.

"Be still, my dark heart." Lennix said to which Mavis giggled once more. "You still want to meet my mom, don't you?" Lennix asked as Mavis rolled her eyes and let out a playful hum.

"Yes, should we get going to meet her?" Mavis asked before the doors opened and Lennix hummed despite himself.

This would be far more interesting then he thought it would be at the moment.
