Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Prince of the Vampires. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own Hotel Transylvania, Sony and a few others.
(Europe.)
A pair of armored goblins were the ones that opened the wooden doors. Lennix hummed and playfully felt Mavis elbow him in the ribs.
"Did I do something to deserve this?" Lennix joked, gaining a smirk from his girlfriend. "Gom, where are you? I thought I told you that I'd be bringing company today." Lennix stated while he shook his head,
He looked around the room. The grand stone steps which framed the main hallway like the mouth of a great snake. Paintings hung on every wall, one of which Mavis approached as the vampiric prince rubbed at his eyes, curious as to if Drac would be coming.
The arrival of his future father-in-law made him hopeful... At least, he was hopeful that the man could be able to see him in that sort of light when it came down to it. He turned and walked to Mavis, his armored footsteps marking his approach as he hummed and blinked.
"Oh, you look so cute!" Mavis said, pointing at a photo of a vampiric being.
Lennix mentally cursed seeing the photo of him when he was a young boy with neat combed black hair. His father had a hand resting upon his shoulder while his mother stood next to him. Lennix didn't have to guess that Mavis simply noticed the crimson eyes and drew the obvious conclusion.
"T-that's not funny..." Lennix stated, the crack in his tone of voice making Mavis giggle as she smirked at him. "Is there any chance you can pretend you didn't see that?" Lennix asked, the pleading clear as day.
Mavis simply smirked as Lennix groaned and turned around, holding his head in his hands. He was not going to be let off the hook from that, he supposed. The flash of a phone's camera only made him sigh and shake his head as he turned to her.
"Didn't you say something about your mom?" Mavis asked, slipping her phone in her pocket.
"Yeah, she's uh..." Lennix stated before taking a deep sigh. "She's sick, Mav. I don't know how sick, but she's VERY ill." Lennix added, shaking his head as Mavis's eyes widened.
Lennix said nothing, he felt helpless. All their family resources and NOTHING seemed to even slightly even the odds when it came down to it. Lennix wanted to break something... But he stayed his hand, he would grieve when there was time for it.
"Oh, I didn't know..." Mavis said, looking down at the ground as Lennix blinked and crossed the room.
"No... No." Lennix said, wrapping his arms around her as he shook his head at this. "It isn't your fault. I just... Don't know how to really speak on it. I was hoping you'd meet her before she gets sicker... It's also why I expected GOM to be here." Lennix stated, looking up the stairs as he sighed and rubbed at his temples while simply hanging his head.
"Listen, we can't all be perfect, sir." Lennix heard as he and Mavis turned to the staircase. "I apologize for not coming sooner, your mother wished to rest before she met you. She's quite happy to see her son return to our humble abode." Lennix heard as Gom slowly marched down the stairs to greet the two vampires.
"Your enjoying this, aren't you?" Lennix asked, crossing his arms as he looked at the goblin commander who chuckled with amusement despite himself as he hummed. "I thought I told you both several hours ago we were coming." Lennix added while brushed off his arm and looking around his childhood home.
Lennix could only watch the goblin break into a giant toothy smile as he approached the vampire prince. Lennix rolled his eyes under his cloaked armor while he slowly approached the monster.
"Enjoying Lady Dracula gush over how you were as a fledgling?" Gom asked and got a facepalm from Lennix as Mavis giggled to herself. "Hmm… What do you think your answer would be, young master Lennix?" Lennix heard from Gom as he shook his head.
"I think my answer is both that I pay you…" Lennix snarked back as he turned to Mavis with amusement. "And that I've got no real issues with bringing up all the stuff YOU used to do, you know." Lennix added and slowly climbed the stairs, Mavis following behind him as he did so.
"You wound me, master." Lennix heard from Gom and rolled his eyes once more.
"I thought goblins had thick skin." Lennix joked, a fanged toothed grin appearing from under his armor. "On another note? Did you tell mom that we have guests coming? I know Drac and them will be arriving sooner or later… Or do I have to get the place ready?" Lennix added, amusement flooding from his voice at the moment.
Gom chuckled, not a drop of anger between the two monsters. Lennix knew Gom had been doing everything in his power currently, the man had done everything for the family that he possibly could.
"I've already gotten the family chiefs on the issue, master Lennix." Gom responded, turning to Mavis as he did so. "Also? I've told Mistress Alice about your arrival. She's rather interested in meeting her son's girlfriend." Gom added, gaining an elbow from Lennix as he turned to him with annoyance.
"I said DON'T tell my mom that yet!" Lennix hissed and rubbed at his eyes with a shake of his head. "Great, there goes the surprise. Thanks, Gom, you're a real lifesaver, General." Lennix added as Gom sighed and realized that Lennix HADNT mentioned telling his mother about Mavis.
"I apologize, master Lennix." Gom added, his voice much lower then it had been before. "I will go and talk to the family chiefs for help preparing dinner tonight. I hope you can forgive me." Gom put in to which Lennix as he hummed to himself and nodded.
"Don't, Gom." Lennix said, more frustrated then mad. "I wasn't clear or said anything about it at the moment. I'm not going to bring it up much more. I'll talk to mom and introduce Mavis to her, I just didn't want to ruin the surprise. Mom is going to have a party knowing Mavis is… Well, Mavis. I'm sure I'll get the 'I want grandkids' talk from her when it comes down to it." Lennix added, cracking his fingers as he turned to the door.
He knew the others would be here soon. Lennix didn't want them to wake up his mother yet. Then again? His mother couldn't be dead yet.
He hoped she wasn't dead, Lennix slowly ascended the steps with Mavis slowly following after him.
