Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Prince of the Vampires. Enjoy the 2100-word chapter. I don't own Hotel Transylvania, Sony, and a few others.

(Europe.)

Lennix was silent for several minutes. It wasn't exactly a comfortable position, him introducing his girlfriend to his dying mother.

"Why didn't you tell me you met such a pretty young woman?" Lennix heard as he turned to a giggling Mavis.

"Because we just met a short time ago…" Lennix said, scratching at the back of his neck. "Plus, I wanted it to be a surprise, mom. Isn't a surprise if you knew." Lennix said as Mavis turned to her boyfriend.

"So, this is your mother?" Mavis said to which she got a nod. "Those marks on your neck, dad told me about vampires like that…" Mavis said before Gom spoke up.

"Lord Lennix's father… Bit her before Lord Lennix was born." Gom said, looking at the frowning Lennix. "Lennix and his father are 100% vampires, like you and your father. His mother, sadly? She did not turn. I believe the correct term is 'first born' or 'fledgling?'" Gom questioned which got a nod from Mavis.

"She's dying, Mave," Lennix said before he clenched his fists. "If that blasted old man had cared? He'd have been here, but I suppose it's better he ISN'T given what he's like." Lennix said as Gom hummed.

"Dying or not? I'm still healthy enough to be happy." Lennix heard as he placed his helmet down on the nightstand. "My dear? You're a vampire just like my dear Len Len, yes?" Lennix heard as he sighed.

"Mom? I'm 119, I can handle myself now." Lennix said as he turned to Mavis. "This is kinda why I didn't want you or your dad to know anything about my family. It's a lot more complicated than it looks, being a prince doesn't help either." Lennix said as Gom rolled his eyes.

"I'm guessing that your duties are still intact at the moment, Lord Lennix?" Lennix heard from Gom. "Should I point out some of those duties take effect by your next birthday? Someone has to take over duties if not for your extended family." Gom put in as Lennix felt someone grab his hand.

He turned to Mavis who was grabbing and holding his hand. It gave him some measure of peace and hope. He smiled as he nodded to Gom.

"If that's what the council needs? Then I'll attend the next meeting." Lennix stated before he started to lean on the wall. "I'm guessing that it's about my father's seat on the council?" Lennix stated while Gom nodded.

"There are plenty of things to deal with on the vampire council," Gom stated while Mavis blinked to herself. "And yes. Lord Lennix was meant to be on the council eventually. I heard your father is part of said council?" Gom asked as Mavis nodded.

"He's head of the council now," Mavis stated as Lennix nodded to himself. "Hmm, that's going to be awkward considering your part of it now," Mavis said as Lennix nodded and chuckled to himself.

"I'm pretty sure your dad already didn't like me because you did like me," Lennix said before there was a soft noise. "Speaking of being the most famous vampire alive. Gom? Can you please let them in? I'm going to stay here. Plus, I'm going to have to stay when daylight arrives so I don't deal with it." Lennix ordered as Gom left the room.

Lennix nodded and squeezed Mavis's hand. He nodded to himself before he sat down on the sofa next to his mother's bed. He was quite unsure of what would happen next. There were a lot of things that came with being a royal prince. It terrified him at the end of the day if he was honest.

"This is going to be interesting; I didn't have a lot of plans when it came to the council stuff," Lennix stated before he shook his head. "Oh well. I have to live up to the prince thing sooner or later. I'm sorry this was dropped on me, I didn't expect Gom to drop all of that on me." Lennix added as Mavis started swishing her thumb around his open hand.

He was thrown off by all of this. The amount of work that has been put into this family? All of it had been for a selfish reason. His father only cared about his legacy.

'I'm wondering what he'd think if he found out the type of vampire I'd become. That old man wasn't there when mom needed him. I'd rip him apart if I saw him around here.' Lennix thought to himself while he cleared his head.

Still? That was for another time. He didn't want to think of what would come if the man came back. Lennix didn't want the man in his future. That was certainly in his mind. Lennix was entirely happy to simply forget it if that was at all possible.

"Well, I was taken to a dark place," Lennix stated while he shook the thought from his head. "I'm… Sorry, what we talking about it?" Lennix asked while he cleared his throat.

Mavis noticed the pain that had crossed the face of the vampire while he looked at his mother. She had seen the look in the face of her father when they spoke of her mother's death. There were signs of despair and disgust in his eyes.

She didn't want to press him for what was bothering him. Mavis had seen her father bothered as much as she thought she'd be.

"Forgive him, dear. He's a little absentminded. It's been part of him since he was a boy." Lennix heard as his girlfriend snorted, it made him roll his eyes.

"Thanks, mom." Lennix snarked while he shook his head. "Gom and I need to talk. Maybe I should go make sure that Drac and they are fine when he arrives here." Lennix stated with a sigh.

There was so much work to be done and almost no time to do it. Lennix wondered how Drac would react to the fact the man whom her daughter was dating… Had a mother who was on her deathbed.

Would he offer condolences? Could his magic help her? Lennix didn't want to think like that, nor did he want Mavis to think he cared nothing about her.

That also wasn't his choice to make. It was hers… And nothing he did or say made it any different. He started to wonder if he was wrong to think about it.

"She's funny," Mavis stated with a smirk while she nudged her boyfriend in the side. "Why didn't you introduce me to her sooner?" Mavis stated while she raised an eyebrow.

Lennix was silent while he cleared his throat. This had come down to a lot of details that hadn't been interested in what to do next. The more time he placed on thinking of what to do next while he looked at Mavis who smiled despite his best efforts to stem her emotions.

He'd be lying if she hadn't been amusing and enjoyable when it came down to it. Lennix simply drew in his cloak while he smiled and sighed to himself. He rubbed at his eyes before he rolled his crimson eyes while he seemed to prepare for the rest of the day.

"Well. This was rather weird." Lennix stated while he rolled his eyes and started to think of what to do next. "Then again? It already is pretty weird when it comes to stuff like this. The council hasn't been around here for 10 years for what I heard." Lennix stated while he frowned.

"Well, now?" Mavis stated while she tilted her head and hummed to herself. "Now their back from what he said. I'm still interested in why dad had left the council." Mavis added while she tapped her fingers on her arms.

She watched Lennix cross his arms as he frowned to himself and pondered his next move. The more plans he made? The scarier that had made rather interesting in his mind.

He sighed to himself and closed his eyes to best plan what happened before the day ended. Mavis rested her hand on his as her boyfriend blinked.

"Who is your father, dear?" Mavis heard from Lennix's mother before Lennix leaned on the wall next to him. "I feel like you and I have seen each other before when I consider it." Mavis also heard to herself.

"Dracula," Mavis stated while she frowned to herself before she titled her head and started to rub at her arms while she blinked to herself. "It's Dracula," Mavis added while she held her boyfriends.

"Dracula?" Lennix's mother asked her son who nodded to her. "My. I didn't think my son would meet the daughter of Dracula at the moment. Lenny, you hadn't honestly dated her for some horrid reason, have?" Lennix heard from his mother before he rolled his eyes.

He shook his head before he ran a hand down his face as he did so.

"No, mom," Lennix said with a raised eyebrow as he did so. "I love her more than anything. If I didn't? She wouldn't even really be here for any real reason. I'm not dad." Lennix said, snarling the last bit.

Mavis stared at her boyfriend who seemed to be annoyed at something. His crimson eyes seemed to glow for a moment before he took a deep breath and sighed to himself with a raised eyebrow towards his mother.

"Hating him isn't going to help." His mother stated to which the prince simply rolled his eyes. "He was a horrible man, yes. It doesn't mean we need to let him decide how we live." She added while Lennix crossed his arms.

"He left us and didn't at all try to help. The only thing he cares about was I had vampire blood." Lennix said while he leaned on the wall. "If he did care? Why didn't he come back? I don't want him to come here, not after what he did to you." Lennix stated while he crossed his arms.

"Len," Mavis stated to which her boyfriend looked at her a second later. "Are you ok?" Mavis questioned to which Lennix stared ahead.

"Not when he's mentioned, Mav," Lennix said as he took a deep breath. "There's a lot of bad blood between him and me. It's a hard thing to mention if I'm honest. Reminds me that my dad wasn't here for years. He shows his face here after mom…" Lennix said while his fingers crackled with electricity.

"I'm not dying before I see my son married, Lennix." His mother stated with a snort as he smiled. "She better stop you from doing something stupid like when you were younger and hung around that Werewolf boy." Lennix heard as he rolled his eyes.

"Doubt Lupe is still around here to get me into trouble, mom. He's got a clan to handle and that was at least a century ago." Lennix added before he smiled.

Lennix heard a knock at the door as he and Mavis turned towards the door with interest. Both were aware of the fact that their guests had come as Lennix gripped his helmet and placed it on his head. He smiled to himself as he snapped it to his head and slowly placed the hood back over his head.

"That will be the others." Lennix stated with a smile to himself as he simply brushed off his cloak "I'll be back in a minute. I still need to let them inside. Gom! Why did we hire you if you didn't do the lists we have? We hired soldiers and servants." Lennix added while he rubbed at his eyes

Mavis only watched her boyfriend with interest as he slowly entered another hall. He slowly started to walk up the steps towards her. The vampire stared at the woman who was interesting to her. She had been rather weirded out by the fact that he had chosen to omit her from his talks. Yet the fact that she had been in this condition was probably what told her what she needed to know.
