Hello everyone! This is my take on Twilight. I promise to post the over chapter of When the Enemy Becomes an Ally soon I promise! I've been working on this fic for awhile. Idk what else say..
ANYWAYS
Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight or Harry Potter -wink-
It was the middle of February in Phoenix, AZ and it was in the 70's. I hate when the cold goes away and the unbearable heat. I'm completely different from my sister that way. While she loves the heat and humidity while, I love the cold and rain. We live with our mother here while my dad lives in Washington. I try to write him to tell him how everyone is, you see, our dad is old school. He likes to write letters and not emails. I also send him photos using my Canon Digital Rebel Camera that he had got for me one year for my birthday. I missed Forks and I wanted to go back.
School had just started when Phil's career had really taken off. While he was gone, mom would always get depressed. That was in August, it was fine at first but then our mom started showing signs of depression. I asked Bella what we should do about it but then mom didn't want to get out of bed. We tried and tried but nothing worked. I knew that if this continues then it would affect Bella, and it did. I had a plan that Bella would absolutely hate but it was the only way to help mom get out of her funk.
It was February 23rd when I set my plan in motion, I dragged Bella to the couch once we got home from school and went to go get mom, who was in her room. Who would have thought. Once I dragged her to the living room, I stood in the center of the room and looked at Bella then at our mom.
"Look, I'm tired of you being in this depressive funk. If you want to go with Phil, then that's fine with me but I will not have you affecting Bella." I signed to them.
"It's not affecting me, Alex." Bella signed back.
"Bullshit! Why don't we just face the facts that our mother hasn't done shit since Phil left to play baseball. Do you know who has done EVERYTHING around here? Me. I'm tired of it." I glared at our mother.
"What did she say, Bella?" Our mother looked at Bella then.
"She's tired of doing everything around the house. She's tired of you being depressed every time Phil isn't here. It affects me," Bella paused and took a deep breath, "She wants you to go and be with him."
"Alexandria Juliet Swan!" Mom yelled. My glare turned into a dead expression.
"Why can't we just go to Forks?" I signed and Bella translated it. You see Bella was the only one who learned sign language with me after the attack.
"You guys hated going to Charlie's, that's what Bella said. And plus, you were attacked while you were there, or did you forget, Alex?" She stated. I looked down at my feet. "Bella, do you want to go to Forks with Alex?"
I guess she nodded her head because I heard our mother mutter a fine. I looked up to see her pull out her phone to call someone.
I went to the kitchen to fix something for dinner. I had to keep in mind that Bella was a vegetarian this year, but she eats eggs and drinks milk. Why? Maybe because she was self-conscious about her body? I decided to make eggplant ravioli since that was her favorite. I was the only one who could make homemade pasta so that is what I did. I got out the pasta roller and the mixer. Bella walked into the kitchen and started helping me. As I got out the pastry flour, eggs, and salt, Bella got the eggplant, bell pepper, and the other things out. I started mixing the dry ingredients and Bella started dicing the veggies and the garlic. I don't know how she did it, I would never give up my love for meat.
An hour went by, and dinner was ready, and Bella and I were setting the table. Our mother walked into the dining room. She went to the kitchen and fixed her some lemon iced tea. Bella had brought our water while I sat down at our four chaired dining room table.
The night went on and I did my 3 essays for my advanced classes. I was smarter then most teenagers here. At one point I had even thought that I was adopted. A week later, Bella and I were packing our things and about to get on a plane. Phil had a home game and was even there. Mom was happy and sad at the same time. Happy that her dear husband was there with her, and sad since Bella was leaving. Mom avoided me all the time. I was used to it though.
Bella would miss Phoenix, I already knew. Our mother drove us to the airport with windows rolled down. I pulled out my iPod Nano and put my earbuds in and drowned out the world. I felt my neck and felt my thin velvet choker, it hid my scar. I had on my favorite Avril Lavigne t-shirt from two years ago and black ripped skinny jeans with my black Converse skater shoes.
In the Olympic Peninsula of northwest Washington State, a wonderful town called Forks exists under a non-constant cover of clouds. It rains on this small town more than any other place in the United States of America. It was from this town that our mother had left with Bella and I when we were only a few months old. We stopped going there over the summer when we were fourteen. Bella was happy to be leaving Forks behind, but I wasn't. I'd miss the rain and the cold. Instead, Bella had an idea that we should only spend two weeks with Dad in California. That was, until the accident.
I was excited to be going back to the place where I called my home. We got out of the car and got all our things out of the trunk of the car. I carried my bags to the front desk with Phil while mom was talking to Bella.
"I know that I will never be your real dad, but I'll miss you." Phil said while handing me my ticket. I nodded my head and smiled. Phil went to hand Bella her ticket. I walked to security and put my bags on the belt and put my phone and iPod in the basket. I walked through the metal detector and grabbed my things and walked to the gate. I stood there waiting for them to walk over. I put in one earbud in my ear and turned on my iPod while I waited. After five minutes Phil, mom, and Bella all came into my view.
Mom hugged Bella and walked over to me and then hugged me. "You know that you don't have to go, right?" I rolled my eyes and gave the woman my ticket. She took it and handed me the ticket back and I walked onto the plane. I looked for my seat and put my main bag in the space above me and put in the other earbud and got out my sketch book and pencil and started sketching Ariel from the Little Mermaid. Sick kids loved it when I drew them a Disney character. It gave them hope. I saw Bella pass me and went to her seat. She looked mad. I knew she didn't like Forks and I know that the reason why I was able to go to, she was mom's favorite after all. I knew something was off, I just didn't know what.
Four-hours later and I was done lining and coloring it in with alcohol markers. Just as I was done, we landed. I packed up my things while keeping out the sketch so it wouldn't be ruined. I had a total of 100 sketches of characters and some of the characters were with some sick children with them. I got my bags and started walking off the plane. I felt a hand on my arm, making me jump and drop my sketch book.
"You shouldn't have done that to mom. She worries about us." Bella said with a frown on her face.
"We know who her favorite is, don't we Bella and if you ruined my sketch so help me God." I signed to her angrily. I bent down and picked up my sketchbook. It was ruined. I turned and glared at her. "Perfect. Just Perfect. Thanks a lot." I stomped away from her. I got off the plane and went to get the rest of my luggage. Bella was trying to keep up. I walked outside and saw dad. "Dad!" I exclaimed hoarsely smiling as I ran to him to hug him.
Yay new story that I might forget about. Had to split the first chapter into 3. Oof.
