-Based on X-Men Evolution comics
We see the X-Men and Ella in the Danger Room, learning on how to properly do CPR with Wolverine as the teacher and Scott and Jean as the demonstrators
"And you keep doin' that until they're breathing on their own again. Any questions?" Logan asked
"Yeah, is Scott kissing or breathing onto Jean? Cause I can't tell the difference." Kurt said as Ella and Kitty were snickering
"I think it's safe to say she's breathing." Logan reminded Scott as Jean awoke and got up
"Uh-" Scott tried to say something before Jean put one of her fingers on Scott's lips
"Dont say a word. Your thoughts are deafening." Jean replied with a chuckle
"What's CPR stand for again?" Kitty asked
"Connivingly Perfect Redheads..." Rogue teased
"Cardiopulmonary resuscitation of course." Markus answered in a bit more serious tone
"Think of it more as a jump-start for the heart and lungs." Logan explained
"Yeah, and that's not all it is, jump-starts..." Rogue piped up, feeling a bit offended that she has to be in this class although she cannot physically touch a person
"You got a problem, Rogue?" Scott asked
"I've got a few. Not all of us are faultless, you know." Rogue replied before she stormed off, exiting the Danger Room
"Hey, I didn't-" Scott tried to say but Logan cut him off
"Let her go." Logan said
"What's her problem?" Kitty said, scoffing at Rogue's attitude
"She can't do CPR without hurting anyone... except me of course since I'm immune to her abilities." Markus explained
"Poor Rogue, she must be feeling alone and left out..." Jean mentally said in her head as the others left the Danger Room to get ready for school
"Move." Rogue said as she purposely bumped into Ella
"Hey..." Ella said before continuing on
"Hey, Ella, wait... Ella, why weren't you in the Danger Room? Jean and Scott did a demonstration for CPR." Markus said as he found Ella
"Was that today? Dang it, I'm sorry, I was just talking to my mom." Ella explained
"How's your mom?" Markus asked as he could not recall that Ella had a sister
"Oh well, besides the fact that she still doesn't like the idea of me moving into here and is now paranoid about me, she's doing pretty good." Ella explained
"Ah I see." Markus replied
"Let's get to school, yeah?" Ella said as they both got ready for school
Later at night...
"Kitty! Phone! It's your mom." Kurt said as she collected the phone and Kurt was about to leave before Rogue found him
"Hi mom! How's everything back home? Did you get my letter? Did I tell you about my English paper?" Kitty said as she talked to her mom
"Kurt? Kurt? Are you there?" Rogue asked as she got Kurt out of his trance
"Oh, sorry Rogue... Just distracted." Kurt explained
"I know the feeling. Must be nice getting a call from your mom, huh?" Rogue asked
"Yeah, she tries to call me EVERY hour." Kurt explained
"Somethin tells me she knows the first thing about being someone's mom..." Rogue said
"Yeah, I know... I know." Kurt replied before he accidentally bumped into Markus
"You ok Kurt?" Markus asked as he helped Kurt off of the floor
"Yeah I'm ok, what were you doing?" Kurt asked
"Well I was going to bed actually." Markus said
"Oh really?" Kurt asked
"Well good night then, Markus." Rogue said as the three went on their way to bed
The next morning in the Danger Room...
"Markus! I need some firepower over here!" Rogue shouted as she dodged some rubber bullets and Markus is temporarily blinded due to an flashbang earlier
"Hang on Rogue, once my eyes are back in shape, I'll-" Markus was explaining before Rogue cut him off
"There's no time for that! Just turn your head to eight o'clock and let her rip!" Rogue shouted as she was dodging mechanical hands
"I... I can't! I might hurt you!" Markus shouted back
"Not if you trust me! We are a team, remember? Fire now! Do it!" Rogue shouted as Markus turned and shot a telekinetic blast from his right hand
"Rogue? Rogue! Oh my goodness, did I blast you? Rogue, hang on!" Markus shouted in fear, after he wiped his eyes as his sight came back, he saw Rogue snickering
"The look on your face." Rogue said while holding her laughter
"You were joking?" Markus asked as he was confused on what was happening
"Couldn't resist. I don't think I've ever seen you move that fast." Rogue explained
"Are you crazy?! I was... I was..." Markus said while stammering
"Worried about me?" Rogue finished for him as she was (on the inside) happy that he was concerned for her
"Well... yeah, yeah of course you are a part of this team." Markus replied before Jean joined the conversation
"Rogue, that wasn't very nice." Jean said
"Excuse me?" Rogue replied
"I saw the whole thing from the monitors. The Danger Room is no place for practical jokes. I think we need a conversation about your--" Jean explained before Rogue stormed off
"Yeah? Well, you can STUFF your conversation, Jean!" Rogue said as she left the Danger Room in a huff
"What's wrong with her?" Markus asked
"I don't know." Jean said as they wondered what made Rogue tick
Later...
Now we see Markus on the steps of the Mansion when Ella comes out
"Markus? Whatcha doin?" Ella asks
"Nothing much really, just enjoying the sunset. Wanna watch?" Markus said before inviting Ella to watch it with him
"Sure... So, what are you thinking?" Ella said before she asked
"Well I don't know for sure but... I have a feeling that- Rogue is in love with me." Markus said
"What makes you think that?" Ella asked
"Well, I'm pretty much the only one whom Rogue isn't rude or short with anyone and another is that she can't absorb my memories nor my powers." Markus explained
"And do you like her?" Ella asked
"I like her as a friend, you know?" Markus explained
"Yeah, I see that." Ella said, as she was also thinking internally about how she feels with Markus
"What about you? Who do you like? More than a friend?" Markus asked, which did make Ella understandably nervous as she did like Markus but she felt she wasn't ready for a relationship yet
"Uh... Uh... I'd rather not talk about that yet." Ella said nervously
"Did I hit a nerve or something?" Markus said who noticed Ella was getting more and more nervous
"No, no it's ok, it's just you know how you get nervous from nowhere? Well I have that." Ella explained as she started to shake but Markus starts to hug her to calm her down
"It's ok, I know what it's like to be extremely nervous... You know you can always talk to me right?" Markus said as he let go of his hug as Ella calmed down
"God bless you Markus... You're very different from any other boy I've met." Ella said as she started to blush a little and on the inside felt grateful for Markus to be her emotional support. "Well why don't we go inside? It's getting cold out here."
"Sure." Markus said as both of them went inside the Mansion as someone, outside of the Mansion, in the shadows was watching
