It is now late night at the Mansion as a security camera caught Lance heading towards the gates, destroying the gate in the process which alerted all of the teens, as they went out of the bed and readied themselves up for a fight
"Really? Who attacks us at 1 in the morning?" Markus said as he rushed to get his uniform on
"Dunno, but could be Mystique." Rogue replied as the others went to the yard in the aftermath of Lances destruction of the security system as he kept walking towards the steps of the Mansion when the X-Men sprung into action, ready for a fight
"Well isn't this a surprise?, I think someone wants to surrender." Markus commented as he made a Psionic sword and the others readied themselves
"Easy there... I've come to join the X-Men." Lance said as tried to convince them of his defection
"You're kidding right?" Ella asked, not satisfied with Lance's answer
"No seriously, I WANT to be an X-Man." Lance said in a serious tone
"Now wait a minute, I want to hear what he has to say... This way Mr. Alvers." The Professor said as he led Lance into the Mansion
"The rest of you can return to bed, there's nothing to worry about." He continued to say
"So that's it, all tense and no fight?" Kurt said as the others went back to bed
"Well at least I hope he won't be my roommate." Markus yawned as everyone went back inside
Later in the morning...
"WHAT!? HE'S my roommate!? Professor, with all due respect, are you crazy?" Markus said in shock as the Professor tried to tell him that Lance will be his roommate from now on
"Markus, don't take this as a threat, we are here to give people chances, not to condemn them." The Professor said calmly
"Look I'm sorry Professor, you know I wouldn't act like this out of nowhere, it's just the fact that THIS GUY tried to kill me in Hawaii." Markus explained and apologized at the same time
"Markus... All I'm asking is to give him a chance, he might be your friend." Xavier said as he puts his hand over his shoulder, hoping to convince Markus
"Ok... But I'm only doing this cause I trust you." Markus says as he left the room and Lance enters while bumping Markus in the shoulder
"Now Lance, I need you to report to the hanger, you will join your new teammates: Ella, Kurt, and Rogue on a flying lesson on the X-Jet and Scott will teach you as your instructor." Xaiver explained as he told Lance his new instructions
"On my way, Prof." Lance replied as we went on his way to the hanger
Now we see Ella hanging out with Kitty before their training...
"Is the rumor true?" Ella asked asked to Kitty
"Like, What?" Kitty said confusingly
"There's a rumor going around, that he came to us so he can be "close" to you... is that true?" Ella explained before asking again
"Well... Don't tell anyone but we're sort of, like, dating each other." Kitty whispered as she didnt want the others to know that they were dating which visibly shocked Ella but accepted it
"Well... I mean, if he's not hurting you and you REALLY love him then go for it." Ella said as she wanted to support her best friend
"Thanks Ella, wanna hang out later?" Kitty asked
"Sure." Ella replied
"And hey... Thank you for, like, supporting me." Kitty said before she hugged Ella and saw Lance coming into the kitchen
"Hi Lance." Ella said at the same time as Kitty
"Hi Kitty." Lance said as he only noticed Kitty and proceeded to kiss her, much made Ella uncomfortable
"Oookayyy, I'll just give you room." Ella said, excusing herself as she went to the hanger to start her training in the X-Jet
"How are you doing babe?" Lance asked
"I thought you were going to the hanger? To be on the X-Jet." Kitty asked as she was confused why Lance was in the kitchen and not in training
"Ah well, I just wanted to see you before I went." Lance said as he embraced his girlfriend
"Lance Alvers, please report to the hangar for your training." The Professor said as he used the speakers to speak to him
"Ok I gotta go but I'll check in a bit." Lance said, bummed about not being around Kitty as he quickly got on his uniform and went to the hanger
Meanwhile at the hanger...
"Well, well, well. Look who decided to show up... Come on Alvers, we've been waiting for twenty minutes for you." Cyclops said as everyone was already buckled in, and Lance arrived late
"Yeah, yeah whatever." Lance said, under his breath with an attitude as he rolled his eyes over
"Ok, now what I'll show you all, is how to take off from the platform and balance the jet as we take off." Cyclops said as he went into the cockpit to start up the X-Jets engines.
"Now that you've started the engines, let it warm up for a minute or so before you... And it's all in the air." Scott said as he readied the jet for takeoff as it flew out of the hanger and had a steady flight up above the clouds
"That's it? No tricks of any kind?" Lance said, disappointed that training didn't offer any new tricks to the jet
"Nope not this time Lance, you gotta be careful with this jet, it's on if a-WHOA!!!" Scott tried to explain before Lance grabbed the controls and sent the X-Jet nosediving in the air
"Hey! Are you TRYING to get us killed?!" Ella shouted as she shot out of her seat and yanked Lance from the controls
"Well... Why don't we end the lesson right here?" Scott said as everyone's hearts just started to beat harder and turned back to the hangar
"I think I'm gonna be really sick." Kurt said as he teleported away
"Ella. You ok?" Markus said as he rushed to her side and gave her a good hug
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Just can't believe your new roommate is THAT guy." Ella said with a voice of disapproval
"Hate him?" Markus asked
"No, I just don't like him... He pretty much ignores me and I think tries to steal time away from Kat and me, cause we are best friends you know." Ella explained as Lance got out of the X-Jet, nonchalant about what he just did before he heard the speakers for Lance to report to The Professor's office
"Well... Maybe he won't be a problem any longer." Markus said as everyone walked back up to the ground level of the Mansion.
Later in the day...
Later in the evening, Lance went into a bathroom and locked the door, then turned on the shower so nobody in the vicinity could hear what he had to say, as he pulled out a phone
"I'm here Mystique, the X-Men suspect nothing besides me causing trouble." Lance said
"Good... Now you know the plan: knock out Shadowcat and bring her to us... Magneto has plans to use her." Mystique said as it did bring some discomfort to Lance
"But why her? Why not Jean or Markus for that matter?" Lance said, hoping it would change her mind
"You don't get to ask questions, Lance. Just bring me the girl." Mystique said, demanding obedience from Lance no matter the cost
"Yes, Mystique. It shall be done." Lance said as he ended the phone call and went to take a shower, but still had doubts as to whether or not to continue in the plan
Later at night...
We now see Lance at his and Markus's room, as he saw Markus asleep, he tiptoed out of their bedroom and went to the garage to start up the X-Van, to prepare for his eventually evasion and escape from the X-Men
Then Lance sneaks into where Kitty was still fast asleep, after securing the inhibitor collar on her, he wrapped a chloroform cloth around Kitty's mouth, which awoke her but knocked her out immediately then Lance used zip ties to bound her ankles, knees and her wrists behind her back together while pulling out an inhibitor collar on her to not let her use her powers, and dragged her to the garage
"I'm so sorry Kitty. I REALLY didn't want to do this but Magneto has demanded that you are to be brought before him." Lance said as he explained why he was doing this to a knocked out Kitty
"Lance to Mystique, package secure, I'm heading your way." Lance said to his phone as he started up the X-Van and left, but Ella opened the garage door to see what the noises were coming from but saw nothing
"The van's gone... Wait. Kitty!" Ella said as she went back inside to wake up everybody of the situation
Meanwhile with Kitty...
"Wha- What happened?... Why am I tied up!? Help! Kitty wakes and starts to freak out knowing she was tied with zip-tied, she first gets on her knees and jumps up to her feet but falls back down due to the rocky road but it damages the collar causing her to phase through only the zip ties on her ankles and her knees, she then gets back up and turns backward to use her bound hands to open the back doors of the van to see the dirt road behind them
"Help! Anybody! HELP!" Kitty shouted as Lance notices that Kitty is up and used his powers to shake up the car and the doors automatically shut before they heard a jet engine above them
"Just lower it enough and I'll grab her!" Ella said as the jet lowers
"No Ella, you don't have powers to protect you, Markus will rescue Kitty." The Professor said as Ella tried to prepare herself to jump but objected
"She'll be fine El, I know she's a close friend. She'll be fine I promise." Markus said as he jumped off the jet onto the top of the van
"What do you think you are doing Lance?! You can't join us easily, so you kidnap one of us instead!?" Markus shouted after he got into the van and started to fight Lance for the steering
"It WASN'T my idea to begin with! Mystique ordered me to bring Kitty back to Magneto, I've tried to refuse but she wouldn't take no for an answer!" Lance shouted as Kitty was sent flying into the air due to the unpaved road and Jean used her telekinetic powers to catch her and drop her to the ground safely as Ella dropped to the ground to rescue her
"Kat, you ok?" Ella asked as she let Kitty get on her feet and used a knife to rip the zip-ties and her hands to get the collar off of Kitty without harming her as the X-Jet landed with everyone rushing out to check on Kitty
"OH ELLA! Thank you so much!" Kitty said with so much joy in her friend and hugged her while tears went down her face as the others tried to comfort here
"No problem Kat...I'm just glad your safe" Ella said, as she comforted her best friend
"The same goes for us Kitty… I should have known Lance would try and do something like this… Did he say why?" The Professor said in relief as Kitty was safe now
"I overheard him say that he was, like, forced." Kitty explained
"Hmmm… Could be an excuse, but like I said, I should have known." The Professor said as he put a hand over his face in shame
"You didn't know Charles, and I know that you believe in second chances and I do too, but sometimes people don't want to change." Ororo said as she conferred the distraught Professor
"Thank you Ororo… Now, where is the van?" The Professor said before noticing the van still hasn't returned
"Want me to find it Chuck?" Logan said, as he offered to find it
"I don't think that'll be an issue." Rogue said as she pointed directly at the coming van before it stopped
"Sorry to keep you guys waiting… Just had to take the trash out." Markus said as he came out of the van
"Markie. You ok?" Jean said as she came to hug her younger brother and asked if he was ok
"I will once we get back to bed, hop in." Markus said as he got into the drivers seat and Jean, Scott, Kitty Rogue, Kurt and Ella got into the Van while the adults took the X-Jet back to the Mansion
