Chapter 10: I see a red door and I want it painted black. (1/2)

"No, not really... I'm little tired that's all." The Dark Gentleman was standing at the kitchen on his home, wearing black sweatpants and a black T-shirt, speaking with someone on the phone. "I know, I know, I'm been a little busy." The person he was speaking to, was a relative of his. "We don't need to talk about her, not now or ever!" Dante yelled angrily. "Want me to hang up on your face?" He replied to what she said after. "Then change the damn subject." It was pretty cold and he really wanted to go back to his room. "I'll visit when I can, trust me, it's ten times easier now since Greendale is pretty close." The boy with dirty blond hair grabbed a microwaved pizza. "Yeah, yeah, I understand... I'm sorry I missed your your birthday, but I swear that I'll make it up to you. " He spoke as he turned the microwave on. "Okay, give our aunts a kiss for me and tell our damn cousin to stop sending me those pictures." He drank a can of soda that was on top of the counter. "I love you too cousin, take care of yourself." Dante said his goodbyes to the person on the phone.

Once the call was over, Dante finished microwaving his pizza and made his way to his room. He turned on his TV to watch a movie on it. The boy dressed in black, was just trying to relax a bit to forget the current situation. Which he was having difficulty to understand.

Suddenly, however, a sound interrupted him before he could put on a movie to watch. The sound of his doorbell ringing. Something that was pretty confusing, as it was relatively late. The confused boy, stood up to go answer the door. Part of him hoped that it was his father but he knows that his dad won't be back for a while.

The moment he answered the door however, it turned out to be someone that he was, surprisingly, expecting to see. "Let me guess, things are pretty shitty at the Cooper's home."

The one at Dante's door was Betty Cooper, looking clearly upset. "That would be the understatement of the year." Betty replied sadly.

Dante invited her in. "No news or an attempt of contact?" He asked, though he already knows the answer.

"No, nothing." It was her unfortunate response. "Polly won't answer my calls or e-mails." She was confused in many different ways. "I get that she doesn't want to talk to my dad, but what did I do wrong?"

While everything seemed to have gone well with the Baby Shower, something went wrong. After the disturbing revelation that Hal Cooper wanted force Polly to get an abortion. Alice kicked him out of the house in response to it and told Polly that she could return home with no fear. However, the next morning, despite Betty's best effort to persuade her sister, Polly made her way to Thornhill, haven chosen to live with the Blossoms. However, something doesn't sit right with Dante.

"Absoutely nothing," Dante assured her. "Something else is going on."

Betty seemed a little confused. "What do you mean?"

The boy with dirty blond hair was about to reply to his blond friend. But then he remembered his pizza. "Can we talk upstairs, my dinner is going to get cold."

"Ummm... Sure." Betty seemed a little confused but understanding.

Suddenly, both climbed the stairs together towards his room painted in black. Betty was there before when Polly was staying there. As soon as they entered however, Dante sat on the floor in front of his TV and eat a bite of the pizza. "What I mean is th-" He tried to tell her, but he got interrupted by a question.

"Your dinner is a slice of pizza and soda?" That was Betty's response to what Dante was eating. Then she folded her arms. "Dan, do you eat anything other than junk food?"

Dante looked at his "dinner" wondering what exactly is wrong with it.

"I'll take that as a yes," Betty seemed to be annoyed by that. "That slice is way too small to fill you up, I'm gonna improvise something for you in the kitchen." Ironically, it wasn't really a question, she was informing him.

"Wait, what?" It was his immediate response. "Betty, you don't ha-"

"It's for me too, since I didn't eat anything at home." Betty decided to add that detail.

"But, I don't know if there's anything to cook on the kitchen." Dante tried to warn her.

"Then I better check it out." Betty then left the room to go downstairs.

The boy with sea green eyes felt a little uncomfortable with Betty cooking for him, but since it's for herself as well. After he was done eating his small slice of pizza. He waited to see what exactly would Betty do.

"What the hell?!" That was Dante's reaction. "How did you made this taste so good?"

"It's just spaghetti."

After waiting a bit, Betty came back to the room carrying two plates of spaghetti. Which the two eat together while watching a film.

"Yeah, but... It's amazing how you managed to do it with whatever was in the kitchen." Dante kept on praising Betty.

"Actually, your kitchen is well stocked." Betty pointed out. "Does your dad cook?"

"Yeah, it's actually one of his hobbies." Dante revealed to Betty. "Me, on the other hand, I completely suck at cooking." He always had a tendency of either burning or using the wrong ingredient, every time he tried to learn.

Betty didn't reply to that, she just eat some of the spaghetti on her plate before watching the movie that Dante put with him. It was the movie, The Rocketeer.

Dante himself was a little worried, as he considered what was currently happening to be a little strange. But with everything that has been going on, he thinks that she only did this to distract herself from the situation with Polly and her parents. Although justified, her dad being kicked out probably affected her. He wanted to say something, but he didn't know what.

"So... What exactly do you mean by "something else is going on" regarding Polly?" Betty asked him as her worry for her sister was clearly very high at the moment.

Dante drank a bit of soda before replying. "Honestly, Polly didn't went to stay with the Blossoms because of your parents, she clearly forgave your mom for sending her away." It was obvious for him.

"Yes... But dad..." Betty tried to argue with Dante but.

"Your dad stopped being a factor as soon as your mother kicked him out, so that's definitely not the case." The boy dressed in black pointed out. "I don't know about you, but I had a weird feeling that Polly wasn't telling us everything about Jason."

"No, I... Noticed too," Betty agreed with him. "When I told Polly about mom kicking dad out, I noticed that she seemed a little tense and deep in thought."

"And suddenly, she goes to stay with the Blossoms and hasn't been returning our calls." With what Betty just said, Dante now had the confirmation that Polly is staying with Jason's family for reason. A reason that he has to figure it out.

"But, what could she possibly be looking for?" Betty asked him before she finished her plate.

"No idea, we'll figure that out that part." Dante replied before he also finished the delicious plate of spaghetti that Betty made.

Both put the plates besides the bed and sat properly in front of the TV. Betty hugged her knees while she watched the movie and Dante sat right besides her to see the movie too. They quietly watched the movie together, neither of them making a sound. He sadly has the strange impression that she doesn't want to go home. Dante decided to not press forward or ask any unwanted question. He did however, did something unexpected. Which was wrap his arm around Betty.

Betty looked at him with a neutral expression, not really reacting negatively or positively to the act. She did however, reacted by placing her head on Dante's shoulder.

Neither said or did anything after that, other than watching the movie.

The next morning came fairly quickly, he knows because he forgot to close the curtains. Causing his room to be illuminated by the sun. Something that annoyed him as Dante was sleeping peacefully. When opened his eyes, he noticed that he forgot the TV on and that he was sleeping on floor of his room.

The dirty blond haired boy doesn't remember falling asleep. He moved his head up as his brain was still initiating. Then he remembered about his encounter with Betty, which was followed by a question. When did Betty went home?

That question however, was answered as soon as he felt a weight on his chest and something wrapped around his torso. Moving his head down to see what it was. He caught the sight of Betty Cooper, sleeping with her head on Dante's chest while she hugged him like a pillow.

Dante was paralyzed with the current situation as the beautiful blond was hugging him pretty tightly. A minute or two passed as a result of Dante sudden paralysis, he knows that he should wake her up, but she seemed so peaceful that he felt like he shouldn't. Remembering what Polly told him about Betty bottling up her emotions.

It turns out, Dante didn't had to wake her up. He felt Betty moving and watched as she slowly opened her eyes. Once they were open however, Betty moved her head up and their eyes met as a result. The blond's response, was to widened her eyes and open her mouth in surprise, before awkwardly sitting up. Looking around and probably coming to the conclusion that she fell asleep on top of Dante.

"Umm... Did I..." She awkwardly tried to ask Dante.

"Fall asleep on top of me?" He finished the question for her. "Yeah..." He scratched his head awkwardly in response. "But, don't worry about it."

"I'm sorry anyway, I haven't been sleeping well this last few days." Betty deeply apologized. "And with this thing with Polly and dad-" She tried to explain herself but Dante interrupted.

"Betty, you don't have to apologize or explain anything, I get it." Dante stated to his blond friend. Then he stood up from the floor. "Honestly, I rarely have a full night of sleep since Jason died so I get it."

However, hearing that seemed to have Betty concerned. "Wait, really?"

"Yeah, but I was never a big sleeper anyway." Dante told her before grabbing his phone. "It's almost time for school, do you wanna take a shower or something?" There was no time for her to run back home.

"Ummm..." She considered. "If it isn't too much of bother?"

"Not at all, second door on the left." He instructed her.

"Excuse me." Betty then stood up and left the room to go to the bathroom.

Leaving Dante alone in there. He decided to get ready for school, so he took off his current clothes in order to put on another outfit. Which was basically composed of black jeans, a black long sleeved T-shirt, black boots and the black hoodie that Veronica gave him. Once he was done however, he saw something there that he hasn't given a thought in a while. Two Letterman jackets, one that used to belong to Jason and one that was a gift from him. But Dante wasn't ready to wear the one he gave him yet.

After both were ready, they made their way to school. Dante and Betty didn't speak much as they were still feeling a bit awkward about the situation they were in early.

They quickly met up with everyone else but were separated because of the class. After the class however, Dante decided find a secluded area in order to formulate some type of plan to figure it out how to deal with the whole situation regarding Polly.

The boy dressed in black was able to do that by going to the music room, which luckily had a guitar inside. So he sat down and decided to play a song to help concentrate.

She gives me everything

And tenderly

The kiss my lover brings

She brings to me

And I love her

Bright are the stars that shine

Dark is the sky

I know this love of mine

Will never die

And I love her

A love like ours

Will never die

As long as I

Hold you near me

Bright are the stars that shin-

The song came to an end as soon as she saw someone entering the room.

"Dante." To his surprise, it turned out to be Cheryl. "If music be the food of love, play on, play on." She closed the door behind her and approached him. "Did you know this week's the official start of maple syrup season?" She sat next to him after asking him that.

Dante heard about that from Jason once, he never highly of it though. "Yeah," He replied. "Your family hosts a tree-tapping ceremony every year, don't they."

"A tradition that honors the Blossom bloodline." She explained to him. "Our heritage."

"Jason told me about it." More like expressed his utter hatred towards it, describing it as a family reunion of vampires. Jason always expressed a deep dislike for the other members of the Blossom family. Last year, as soon as it was over, he ran to Dante's house and the two spent the whole day watching horror movies. "By his description of it, it sounds... Interesting." He did his best to lie to her.

"It is." She fell for it. "Beyond." Dante was a little curious about where this was going. "It's also incredibly exclusive. Family and inner circle only." He doesn't like where this is going. "Wanna be my date?" The Dark Gentleman made a confused face and actually believes that he heard wrong. "The maple-tapping's something Jason and I have done together since we could walk." Correction; Jason was forced to that with her since he could walk. "It was our extra-special thing." That he expressed on more than one occasion that he detested. "But I... Can't face it alone." There was a lot of sadness in her voice. "If you came, as my escort, I think I could get through it." That was new for Dante, as there was a lot of sincerity in her voice. But...

"Okay... What exactly is the catch?" Dante bluntly asked the twin sister of his late best friend.

Cheryl was visibly annoyed by that question. "There's always have to have catch with you, isn't it?"

"Cheryl, you hated my guts since the first time Jason introduced me to you, for no actual mistake on my part. And now you're here asking me to escort you on a family ceremony, so pardon me if I'm a little skeptical about it." Cheryl opened her mouth to reply to what she said, but she quickly shut it, probably due to him having a point.

"My... Parents push me into do it." She revealed to him. Which caused Dante to wonder if it was really both of her parents or it was just her mother. Who Dante was still a little frightened towards due to the revelation of her creepy stalking of his father. "But, it's also because... You defended me when not even my parents would and..." She seemed to be trying to find the right words. "You're..." She paused for a bit. "Never mind, I'm sorry I asked." She was about not stand up to leave. But Dante grabbed her arm before she did.

"Wait," Dante put the guitar down and stood up to meet her in the eye. "While I'm not comfortable with this, I accept your invitation." Unfortunately, this might be his only way to figure it out what Polly is up to at the Blossoms.

"Are you sure you okay with this, Danticho?"

After accepting Cheryl invitation Dante reunited with his friends to tell them the news. But Veronica could tell that he was bothered by it.

"No," He answered her. "But I really need to discover what the hell is Polly doing with them and this is the only way for me to get close to her."

"I am aware of that, but I don't really feel comfortable with you around Cheryl's mom after what my mom told us at the Baby Shower." Veronica pointed out to him.

"You think I am?" Dante was still disturbed by what Mrs. Lodge told them.

"While I feel the same way as V, it might be the only way we can understand what Polly is doing there." Betty decided to speak up. "But please be careful."

"Don't worry, I can take care of myself." Dante reassured them.

"Famous last words, Danticho."

"Wait, what's that about Cheryl's mom?" Kevin who was quiet the whole time, asked.

Although still a little reluctant. Dante made his way to Thornhill in order to attend the ceremony. Dante was wearing a black trousers, a black dress shirt, leather boots that he burrowed from his father and a wool coat. Unfortunately, he ended up standing out as everyone else was wearing a piece of red, but luckily, it wasn't obligatory.

Dante was currently walking besides Cheryl approaching the rest of her "clan" which unfortunately, turned out to fit the description of vampire family that Jason gave him, perfectly.

"When Jason died, I thought I'd tapped my last tree." She told him as they walk besides one another. "Now, don't be nervous." He's more nervous about the possibility of one of those people turning into a giant bat and attacking him than he is of the ceremony. "All you have to do is hold the bucket steady, I'll handle the rest."

As they approached the others, Dante had a question. "Is it just me, or there's something going on with these people?"

Cheryl's expression confirmed that it wasn't just him. "Entre nous, they're Daddy's board of trustees." She confides to him. "They smell blood in the water. That's why they're here." She sighed. "They're worried Daddy's losing his grip on the company and they're looking for a way to take it away from us."

"Let me guess, if they all vote together, they can." Dante already knows how that works.

Strangely, she wrapped her hand around his arm. "When Jason died, it was a PR debacle." She explained to him. "And now, here's Polly, pregnant and unwed." Speaking of Polly, she looked as uncomfortable as ever and Dante couldn't blame her. "It's no wonder they've descended upon us like some biblical plague."

Once the two were close enough, he noticed Polly staring at him with a worried expression, though Dante was unaware if the worry was for him or herself. But he had the strong feeling that it was both.

Cheryl's father opened a scroll, which brought Dante some funny memories about the scrolls that he once found in his aunts's home. "Nearly hundred years ago, grandfather Blossom came to this sacred maple grove." Dante noticed Cheryl's mother staring at him, which disturbed him. "The annual tapping ceremony portends each season's bounty." Suddenly, Dante felt someone grabbing his hand, he looked to the side and noticed that it was Polly, probably noticing Dante's uncomfortableness over being stared at by Cheryl's mom. "Now, I've performed this ceremony many times in my life." He held Polly's hand as they heard Mr. Blossom. "My son Jason, when he came of age, performed it as well." Both Polly and Cheryl squeezed Dante's hand ad arm at the mention of Jason. He noticed Mrs. Blossom being shaken by the mention of his as well. "In his place, I put forth my daughter Cheryl." Mr. Blossom presents Cheryl, who clearly looked nervous.

Dante gave Polly's hand one last squeeze before letting go of it. Cheryl then lead Dante by the arm towards the tree that he's supposed to help her tap. After approaching the tree, Cheryl handed Dante a bucket, which is dropped to one knee to get in position. Cheryl however, looked very nervous as everyone was staring at her with pretty judgmental eyes. Seeing this, made Dante understand why Jason detested doing this. As he can tell that were all expecting Cheryl to fail. The boy dressed in black moved his gaze back to the girl wearing red, she looked at him with her amber eyes and it shocked Dante how nervous she was.

"Hey," He called her attention. "You seriously gonna let them intimidate you?"

After hearing that, Cheryl looked at him for a second, probably taking his words into consideration. Taking a very deep breath, Cheryl tapped the tree. Instantly causing it's fluids to come out inside of the bucket. Cheryl's parents instantly looked relieved by her success. The rest of the family was happy too as they applauded their success.

Cheryl seemed to be the one that was the most pleased as she let out a wide smile.

"See, you can do this in your sleep." He told her as he placed the bucket in position.

That caused her to smile a bit more as everyone seemed pleased.

After some pointless chit-chat that Dante wasn't interested in. The entire "clan" decided to pose for a photo. Dante had absolutely no interest in being on it, so he stayed besides the photographer.

But...

"Dante!" Mr. Blossom called for him. "Come join us before the snow starts again."

Dante sighed and reluctantly join in. He walked to stand besides Polly, who hugged his arm as soon as he got close. Everyone smiled at the camera before it clicked. Once the photo was taken every prepared to move back to the mansion.

Polly who was prepared to let go of Dante's arm, was stopped by him grabbing her hand. "Listen, I know you're here for a reason and you better tell me what it is." He spoke low enough so only she could hear.

"Not the time or the place, and tell Betty not to worry." She informed him, confirming his suspicion.

"She's very upset with this." He informed her back.

"I know, please apologize to her for me." She pleaded him. "Her and my mom."

"Polly, come along." Suddenly, Mrs. Blossom interrupted their conversation and called out for Polly.

Polly nodded at her before kissing Dante on the cheek. "Don't worry, okay?"

"I'll always worry about you." Dante told her before she gave him a sad smile and walked away.

"Come along, Dante." Strangely, Cheryl called out for him to join her on the way back. The boy dressed in black followed the red head girl as they all made their way back to the mansion, he was the only one not carrying an umbrella, so the snow fell into his hair and clothes. He didn't mind though, as Dante always loved snow. So much that, back Detroit, there were times when he would lay on the ground of his backyard just to feel the snow falling on him. Though, he hasn't really done that since he came to Riverdale.

He looks at the sky for a bit, thinking about Detroit, and wondering how his "friends" back there are doing.

His thoughts were interrupted however, by the sight of the sky being blocked by an umbrella. Lowering his head, he noticed that it belonged to Cheryl. "I thought I warned you to bring an umbrella." She reminded him.

Dante hates umbrellas, he usually prefers to use coats or jackets for the specific weather. "I forgot." He lied. "So... How did it felt?"

"Not the same..." Cheryl commented sadly. "But, I'm really grateful for your help."

"You would have managed even if I didn't help." He was certain of that.

"I'm not so sure about that, Mr. Black." She was definitely referring to his black outfit.

"But I am, Mrs. Red." He reassured her.

The two unknowingly shared her umbrella for most of the way back. As they walked however, Dante noticed the couple in front of them talking considerably loud.

"I don buy this dog-and-pony show for a second." The man in front of him spoke. "Cliff can't control his own family, let alone the company."

"Agreed." The woman in front of him agreed. "And if he tries to put Cheryl forward as a sucessor..." Cheryl noticed that they were talking about her. "Do you remember what she did at the funeral?" And she was visibly bothered by her words. "Crocodile tears." And so was Dante.

"Hey." Dante called out for them.

"Dante, you don't have to." Cheryl tried to stop him but he was having none of it.

"I don't know about the rest of your weirdos that look more like a clan vampires than anything else, but Cheryl loved Jason." Dante didn't hold back words. "And the fact that you have the nerve to accuse her of pretending to cry at his funeral, says a lot about the type of people you are, take a fucking good look at the mirror before judging, because one Cheryl is worth a hundred of you red headed losers." Cheryl smiled after Dante said that about her, but he ignored and just walked past the couple angrily.

It didn't took long for Cheryl to catch up to him and shared her umbrella with him once again. "Did you meant what you said?" She asked him.

"I did." But, when he said that one Cheryl was worth more than a hundred of them, it wasn't necessarily meant to be a good thing but...

The short walk was finally over to Dante's relief as he really had enough of that place. But strangely, he was approached by Mr. Blossom.

"Dante, do you know when Cheryl told me that she wanted you to come with us, I was a little taken aback." Mr. Blossom pointed out to Dante, confirming that it was just Cheryl's mom that pushed her to invite him. "You and my son were very close, but I always assumed that you and Cheryl had a certain hostility towards one another."

"This is a sensible time for her, the first ceremony without Jason around and I.." Dante was trying to find the right words use. As the actual reason he was there, was because of Polly. "Just wanted to do this as a favor to her... It's... What Jason would have wanted." That was low, but Jason would understand.

"You know, we can be extremely generous, Dante, to the right people." He wondered what exactly does did he meant by "right people". "Now later this week, we're hosting a banquet for the board at the Belmont Lodge." The boy in black was wondering where exactly was this going. "It's a simple thing, a little dinner, chit-chat, dancing. We would love you to attend as Cheryl's escort." That surprised Dante at that and looked at Cheryl. "You two make quite the pair." Cheryl smiled at him for some reason and so did her mother. But Polly, shaked her head very discreetly, signalling him to not accept.

"Ummm... I'm honored, Mr. Blossom, but..." Dante tried to argue in an attempt to obey Polly's wishes, but he was interrupted by Cheryl.

"But nothing." Cheryl approached and touched his arm. "You have to come, I'm wearing viridian." She informed him enthusiastically. "He'll need a proper suit, don't you think, Daddy?"

"I'll have my tailor fit you." Mr. Blossom told him.

Dante looked at Cheryl who just smiled and nodded at him to accept.

"If that's not a problem?" Mr. Blossom asked him.

"Well... I mean... Fancy Banquet's isn't exactly my thing, I'm just a military brat." He explained to Mr. Blossom in hopes of discouraging him.

"That's precisely why you should come." Mr. Blossom argue with him however. "People like you are the bedrock of our town." Dante honestly didn't know what he meant by that. "You're someone with conviction."

"Plus, I need a dance partner." Cheryl added. "We won't take no for an answer..." She insisted. "Dark Gentleman." She said his nickname with a smile.

Dante apparently didn't had a choice in the matter. He took one last look at Polly for advice. His friend just sighed in clear displeasure and signaled him to go for it. "Okay... But... There's one condition." Mr. Blossom and Cheryl looked at him with curiosity. "The suit... Has to be black."

"Who would've predicted this?" Alice Cooper asked as she cut a piece of pie. "Dante Parker is our fox in the henhouse."

As soon as he left Thornhill, the first place he went, was the Cooper's home to inform Betty about what Polly told him. Now, he was sitting down at the dinner table with Alice and Betty.

"Tell us about Polly." Betty requested him. "How is she? Did she seem okay?"

"Well..." He looked at both mother and daughter. "I confirmed my suspicion, there is a reason to why she's there, but when I questioned her about it, she told that it wasn't the time or the place." Dante explained to the two of them, who looked at one another in worry. "She also asked me... To tell you not to worry and to apologize to the two of you for her."

Although Betty seemed relieved by the information. She was clearly frustrated with the situation. "Dan, what the hell is she trying to do or is expecting to find?!"

Alice eat a slice of the pie before she spoke. "Your sister was always stubborn, once she gets something on her head, she never drops it." She told Betty coldly. "Her relationship with Jason and Dante is a perfect example of that."

Dante quickly spare a hostile glance to her in response. "What's that supposed to mean?"

Before Alice could answer his question. Betty intervened. "Focus!" She yelled at them to call their attention. "Dante, right now, you're the only one that can figure it out why is she there." Betty pointed out. "So please, try to discover what it is and if she's in danger or something."

"I'm working on it, the Blossoms invited me for a fancy banquet to be Cheryl's escort, while there, I'm gonna make Polly tell me what exactly is she up to there." Dante assured the two.

"What exactly is going on with the Blossoms, Dante?" Alice asked the boy dressed in black as he eat a piece of pie. Which he waited until she bite it first to make sure it wasn't poisoned.

"According to Cheryl, after the whole scandal between Jason and Polly, they're afraid that they might try to steal the company from Mr. Blossom." Dante explained to them.

Alice seemed pleased with that information. "Well, do you hear that, Betty?" She asked her daughter. "This is our story. A hostile takeover." She pointed out. "No wonder the trustees are in town." Dante just kept eating the pie as she rambles. "The Blossom empire is crumbling."

"Look, I don't really care about what happens to the Blossoms but..." Dante understood where she was going with that. "Can you at least wait until I figure it out why Polly is there before you attack them?"

"Dan is right, if you write an article attacking while Polly is in Thornhill, you could put her in danger." Betty agreed with him.

"Fine, you have until after this fancy banquet to figure it out, but I'm writing an article afterwards whatever you discover." Alice stated to the two of them before standing up from her chair. "And you better watch yourself, I don't know what the Blossoms are looking to get from you but whatever it is, it's not gonna be good." She told him before she left the room with a plate on her hand. Probably to write the article about what Dante told them.

"That... Gotta be the friendliest encounter you two ever had." Betty told him in a somewhat serious and somewhat joking matter.

Dante eat one more slice of pie. "Don't get used to it, because it was probably an one time wonder." He informed her as it was probably true. "Did you get scolded over spending the night out?" He asked in concern.

Betty was surprised by that question and looked away awkwardly. "Umm... She... Didn't even notice, she had to take some pills to fall asleep and it kind of knocked her out." She explained to him, which gave him a bit of relief as he was worried that she got in trouble because of it. Though, he still felt a bit awkward over the whole, sleeping together accident.

"Can we..." Dante didn't know how to say that. "Pretend that never happened, because... I don't really want us to be awkward to one another because of it." He proposed to her.

Betty looked at him for a second before replying. "Yeah, that'll be great."

"Though, I definitely wouldn't mind if we saw another movie together." Dante couldn't help but point that out as he definitely wouldn't mind.

Betty giggled a bit before replying. "Alright, but it's my turn to choose the movie." She accepted his proposition. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna choose a chick flick or something."

"I don't mind a chick flick, as long as it's not The Notebook." Dante hates that damn movie.

"What's wrong with it? It's one of my favorites." She asked him, wondering what exactly it's wrong with it.

"The movie is about a guy doing a bunch a stalker shit and getting away with it, just because he's attractive." Dante pointed out what was wrong with it in his eyes. "Imagine an average looking or below average looking guy doing all of that shit and tell me with a straight face that the girl wouldn't have called the police on his ass." He explained before he eat another slice of pie.

Both Dante Parker and Betty Cooper basically spent the rest of the night, arguing what Dante found wrong in most romantic films.

Thanks everyone for following and favoriting this story.

As always, Questions and Answers:

Will there come a time when Dante will start training? Get in shape, build a body that will have the girls blushing at the sight.

I can already see why there would be a love triangle between Veronica, Dante, and Betty, so you're doing great there. Yikes, as if Cheryl wasn't problematic enough, and I can just see that happening, maybe she can deny being like her mother despite doing the same thing as her with a Parker man. When would that obsessed stalker side come out? And just how bad will she be?

So the Ghoulies will beat on Dante? Oh man, hope he gets payback.

True there on what you say about Polly.

Thought of Tanner Buchanan because he's about 5'9, so not too tall, well built and has the green eyes, lacks the blonde hair but figure that ain't too important. And yes, thought his role in Cobra Kai also helps with whole karate side (even if Cobra Kai itself was developed from Tang Soo Do).

Uh oh, don't know what kind of bad company, but of the many possible options in my head, can say that none of them are likely good.

HA! Dante is allowed no privacy, is he? Next they'll probably be walking into his room without permission, whether he's decent or not.

Kind of funny, the contrast between Dante and Jason there, the former in all black, and the latter in all white. Imagine it'll be breaking news if Dante ever actually wears a different color. The Dark Gentleman goes blue, or something.

What's Alice's opinion of the whole obsession thing that Penelope has? Will she go easy on Dante now? At least, a bit more cordial since he's taking care of Polly, I imagine.

That was a nice little moment between Dante and Veronica. Hoping for more of those.

HA! Oh I have a feeling little Dante is going to make a return, to his chagrin.

Will Greendale, Sabrina, and magic become part of things here?

When will Virgil return? Dante will have a lot of questions for him, that's for sure, and interested to see his interactions with the older residents of Riverdale.

Does Dante consider Fred a second father figure? Because maybe Archie could see that as Dante trying to take his dad and replace him or something, and he gets punched to clear his head. Or just punch him anyway. Anything that ends with Archie getting punched will make me happy.

When is Jughead returning? I also imagine when he does, his mom and sister will come to.

Will there be anything happening with Grundy?

What's Dante's relationship with Clifford Blossom like? Well, relationship is probably too strong a word, what we're the interactions like between them? I'm guessing he knew of his wife's obsession with Virgil Parker.

Once his dad returns, he kind of gets pushed into exercising and eating properly.

Remember when Cheryl stalked Josie? Imagine the same thing, only slightly worse.

He will get payback on their leader but not the gang itself.

Yup.

Dante uses Tang Soo Do techniques so...

You got that right.

Polly did that on more than one occasion.

Oh, it will, trust me.

Unlikely, but she gets less hostile over time.

You can be sure of that

Maybe ;)

Considering that Dante has been in Greendale on multiple occasions, that he already knows Sabrina and that magic is part of the reason to why he only wears black... Probably.

Once Jason's murder is solved.

Yes and no, Dante and Archie do butt heads for a bit but it doesn't last long.

Once his dad is arrestedand yes.

He tries to corrupt Dante and bring him to his side as a type of petty payback. But it backfires once Dante discovers his greatest sin.

What's worse than organ harvesting? Guess it's a satanic or cannibal cult. (You probably watch too many horror movies.)
I hope you don't kill Fred. Because he was someone that Dante respected. because if Archie comes back Dante becomes someone Archie doesn't like because he feels Dante is a scammer. The woman from him, Dante, must be considerate of Fred. Otherwise, he might hit Archie. (He deserves it.) Jughead might be jealous of Dante because Betty is interested in Dante.
I hope Cheryl has some time with Dante because Dante doesn't seem to have one. How many moments with Cheryl?
Will Penelope find a way for Dante to take over?
After Jason's story is over, will Dante have to deal with a serial killer? Because bad things happen in Riverdale.

Considering that Riverdale takes place in the same universe as Sabrina's, you shouldn't count out those possibilities.

Fred will not die, don't worry.

Jughead is asexual in this story.

After this chapter, there will be a considerable number.

In s way...

Without a shadow of doubt.

Wonder when Dante will get to see Veronica in her PJs in person and not just via text photo haha

Always nice seeing Dante and Jason hanging out back in the day

Again even with Dante saying he's not got romantic feelings for Polly now and vice versa I'm assuming can't help but hope that fact changes after a few years anyway shame Hermione had to walk in at the end

This will be random but I do like the fact Dante gets on well with Nana Rose

Yeah I got feeling Dante is going to love being called uncle

Really liked Dante's gift and when the coopers and blossoms started getting at each other's throats loved Dante stepping up and telling both sides to stfu and a nice little reach across the isle and bitch slapped them as equals moment

Good to know even young Dante had the voice of a Angel haha

By the way when it comes to Dante's days in Detroit if I remember right hope nothing from there follows him to Riverdale that causes problems

Nice to know Vergil will be the one dealing with Hiram nice that it's not going to be a issue for Dante to deal with so Mayor Vergil anyone

Pretty soon แƒš(ฺกแƒš)

Dante Parker and Jason Blossom, BFFs to the bitter end.

Hermione is better than Hiram on that regard.

Dante likes her a lot, and will interact with her whenever he can.

He sure will.

That's how the Dark Gentleman does it.

He didn't sing anything, he was just dancing alongside the music.

His old "friends" will come back into his life, wether he wants them to or not. {Baby Teeth, Mad Dog and Kurtz. They all appeared in season 3.}

Let's just say that, Hiram puts up an big game but Virgil knows how to play it better than him.

Will this story change to rated m soon? Because this would be a good M story.

Maybe...

My apologies for not reviewing in a while, I've been busy. But I enjoyed the latest chapters. Wow, I knew Penelope is terrible on the show but I never thought she'd be that insane regarding what she put Dante's father through. I look forward to the next chapter, with Dante attending the maple tree tapping ceremony with Cheryl

I hope you like it.
