Chapter 1: Black and Blue (2/4)

The Black Wolf was in a somewhat strange situation. What started out as a scheme of the Princess of Temeria in order to protect her position and heritage, became a rescue mission. Adda the White was kidnapped while traveling to the La Valette Castle and now she's a hostage at the hands of the Scoia'tael. Malak had a lot of doubts in his mind about this, he has a strange feeling that this was not a coincidence. What caused this doubt was the fact that no one really knew where Adda was going alongside the fact that the guard that came back told them that the attack was very organized like it was planned.

His Aunt Triss managed to use Hydromancy to confirm that Adda was still alive but they couldn't get a location. So King Foltest ordered Vernon Roche to take the Blue Stripes to the location where Adda was taken. Malak of Cintra offered himself to accompany the Blue Stripes on this journey, which the King accept the offer as any help was welcome.

Malak was currently preparing in his room for the trip with the Blue Stripes. He could teleport there but it's better for him to arrive with them in case of a confrontation with Scoia'tael. He finishing putting on his armor, with only the breastplate left which was shinning due to the sunlight coming from the window which caused the emeralds that were encrusted on to shine even more. After finishing with his armor he reach out for his bandolier with several throwing knives on it that he put it on his chest. Then he reached for the bullet thrower, putting it on his back. Until finally he grab his sword.

Malak's sword was unique in more ways than one. It was a compound-hilted bastard sword with the hilt encrusted with sapphires and gilded in gold and the pommel was also a sapphire in the shape of a wolf's head. An extremely extravagant looking sword, something that Malak was aware of it. But what really stood out the most, was the blade. The blade was as pale as snow and had engravings from top to bottom, which Malak theorizes it to be some type of runes, though none he has ever seem as it strangely glows and changes colors from time to time. He doesn't really know what the sword is made of as he found the material on a different dimension and made a sword out of it with his grandpa Vesemir's help. It was good decision though, as this sword was sharper than any regular sword, had magical properties that Malak was still discovering and best of all, it actually worked on monsters just like a silver blade. Meaning that Malak only had to carry one sword.

After putting his sword on his back. He reached out for his dagger, that used to belong to his mother. Which he put it on a sheath on his left leg.

"Are you ready?" Malak heard someone speak to him. He turned to see his aunt Triss standing on the door.

"Yes," Malak replied as he grabbed his medallion. It was his father's medallion that he kept it as a memento. "Are you certain that you wanna get involved into this.

"I'm certain, I'll find this spy that Adda was using it and find out if he has anything to do with her kidnapping." Malak ended up revealing the truth about Adda's scheme to his aunt Triss, while making her swear to him that she won't reveal it to anyone else. She decided to help him out by finding the so called spy that Adda was using for this scheme of hers. "You be careful, the Scoia'tael aren't to be taken lightly."

"Don't worry about me, is everything ready for the depart?"

"Yes."

Malak didn't really ride very often as he always preferred to teleport to his desired location. So his aunt Triss got him a black stallion to ride. Which he used to accompany the Blue Stripes. Unfortunately, the location where Adda was taken is a day away.

The Black Wolf followed behind them as he didn't really belonged there. He was smoking his pipe on top of his horse as he had a few thoughts on his mind. What exactly did uncle Dandelion got himself into anyway. Was he doing something important or he was just charming his way into a woman's bed. I don't know many details about his relationship with the duchess but it gotta have something to do with it. Malak inhaled the smoke from his pipe as he thought about it. I will probably head back to Kaer Morhen after helping uncle Dandelion, maybe help grandpa Vesemir in training Leo. Malak and Leo were close friends, as he did help in training him.

"Witcher, a word." Suddenly Malak's thoughts were interrupted by someone calling him out from afar.

Malak decided to gallop forward to see who exactly was calling him out, which turned out to the commander of the Blue Stripes.

"I don't believe we were introduced... Vernon Roche." He extended his hand to greet him.

The Black Wolf removed the pipe from his mouth before extending his hand to shake his. "It's a pleasure meet you, I'm Malak of Cintra." He only knew Vernon Roche by name, this was actually his first time meeting him in person.

"You're the one that King Foltest sent to deal with the conspirators." It was more of a statement than a question.

"Not exactly, since the conspirators weren't on the location." Malak replied before taking another smoke. "Though, it turned out to be quite the challenge." He commented after exhaling the smoke. Although, I still don't know what was Bagri's involvement in this.

"Do you think that the Scoia'tael is involved." He asked Malak.

"Honestly, I don't think their involvement in this is a coincidence." Mostly because there is no conspiracy against the king. "Though, I can't really understand what exactly would they accomplish by kidnapping the Princess."

"Whatever it is, we'll stop them." He replied with a lot of conviction. "But Princess Adda's safety is our priority."

I wonder what Adda is thinking about right now under captivity. Malak thought as he kept on smoking.

Both The Black Wolf and the Blue Stripes kept on riding towards the location marked on a map giving by the guard. It was a somewhat quiet trip for the most part. Besides a few conversation between the soldiers or orders by Vernon Roche.

Malak spent most of ride with his thoughts, something that he was trying as hard as he could to avoid. Because it would often bring unwanted memories into light. Not because they were bad, but because they made him feel bad.

"Come on." A boy with short black curls spoke in frustration.

Malak of Cintra was sitting down on a table trying to perform a spell. The spell was to freeze a bowl of water that was in front of him, as he was trying to learn how to use the element of water. Although, it was proving to be quite the challenge, as Malak has difficult in using any element that isn't air. He spoke in the incantation are in the Elder Speech, but to no avail. Dammit! What am I doing wrong? The boy thought in frustration.

"Why are you still up?" Suddenly, he was surprised by someone. He turned his head to the left to see that it was just his mother, wearing a white sleeping gown. She then saw the bowl filled with water on top of the table. "I told you to get some rest and to try again tomorrow."

Malak has been trying to do that for quite sometime but to no success. "I wasn't tired, and I really wanted to keep trying." He replied to her while looking down.

His mother sighed before approaching him and caressing his hair. "You can't push yourself too much," She told him. "Trust me, if making you stay all night to keep trying was gonna help you learn faster, I myself would be telling you to do it."

He lift his head up to look at his mother's violet eyes, which were the same as his. "Why is air magic so easy but all else is hard?" He asked his mother in confusion.

"My best guess, is because of your birth." His mother never really hid the circumstances of his birth from him. "The Djinn's magic probably gave you an affinity for air magic."

"Wait, does that mean that I can only use Air Magic?" He asked in worry.

"Mages usually have more natural affinity for one area and thus study more extensively, though they can have skills in another." She explained to him.

"I know bu-" He tried to argue but his mother interrupted him.

"But nothing!" Suddenly, Malak heard his mother's voice inside his head.

"Why are you using Telepathy?" He asked while also using it.

"Because you shouldn't be able to use it, if you're magic was limited to Air Magic." She explained to him by talking this time.

Malak realized that she was right, as Mind Magic is also a branch of magic like the elemental ones. Although he's probably gonna have more difficult to use the other elemental ones except for air. Which is something that really bothers him.

"We'll keep on trying tomorrow, but for now, go to bed." She told him.

Malak had an urge to argue with her but he knows that it would be a waste of time. So he decided to obey his mother and follow her as she lead him back to his room.

I really don't like this place very much. I hope we can move on to somewhere else soon. Malak thought as he walked besides his mother. I wonder if we would to Rissberg again, I really want to see if Ortolan finished his experiment. Him and his mother passed through a dark and cold corridor with only a candle lighting their way. Mother still hiding the reason to why we're here. Malak was a bit frustrated by his mother's secrecy but he knew better than anyone that there was no use in even trying to ask her about it.

Soon enough, they arrived at the room that Malak was staying. And she quickly put him into a somewhat comfortable bed. "We'll try some more tomorrow, but for now." She softly kissed his forehead. "Get some sleep."

"I love you, mother." Malak told her.

His mother smiled at him. "And I love you, Malak."

"Witcher!" Suddenly, Malak was snapped back to reality after he heard someone yell at him. It was Vernon Roche calling him. "We have arrived."

Vernon Roche was referring to the location where Adda's transport was attacked. Her carriage had the colors of Temeria on it. But there were arrows all over it and the corpses of the horses and the guards are still there, though they were completely stripped down, with both their armor and weapons missing. The road itself was straight, with the wild completely covering the area around it.

Malak came down from his horse alongside Vernon Roche and both approached the carriage with the rest of the Blue Stripes surrounding the area.

"They block the passage to attack, there's no way that this wasn't organized." Vernon Roche was talking about the fallen tree that in front of the carriage. A relatively large tree that probably took some time to cut it. There's no sign of magic being used to cut that tree. So it was definitely cut the traditional way, which means that Roche is probably right. Malak thought as he analyzed the place. I wonder of aunt Triss found this spy. He then decided to investigate the carriage, which had several arrows pierced through. I hope Adda didn't got hurt. As he opened the door of the carriage to check, he noticed that the inside was completely covered in blood.

"What is it?" Roche asked him.

"Blood, and I really hope that it's not from the Princess." Malak informed him.

"Shit." Roche replied. "We must find her quickly."

Malak then looked inside some more until he found something on the floor. "Oh no."It was his instant reaction when he saw what was on the floor in pool of blood.

"What now?" Vernon Roche asked him in worry.

He grabbed what was on the floor, it was amulet. An amulet that the Princess always wore. "You know what this is?" Malak asked him.

"It's the Princess amulet, she never takes it off." Roche answered him.

"Yes, but..." Malak was trying to find the right words to explain him. "Are you aware of... Princess Adda's condition?"

"You mean the curse that used to plague her?" Malak nodded at that. "Yes, I'm aware of it. I also heard that you're father was the one that broke the curse."

"Yes, but there's something that only a selected few are aware of it." Malak signaled Roche to follow him away from his Blue Stripes as what he was about to tell him was a secret. "Vernon Roche, what I am about to tell you must never be spoken about again. This is something that only a few people know as the King ordered it's secrecy."

Roche, justifiable made a surprised expression upon hearing what Malak told him. "You have my word." He assured him.

Malak took a deep breath before speaking. "Although, my father did broke the curse and restored Adda's human form. Her mind was left terribly degraded by trauma, and she was still in danger of relapse. To ward off the curse, my father instructed the princess to wear an amulet necklace and told her keeper to have her participate in rituals designed to ward off the curse." He explained to Vernon Roche, who remained stoic but he could tell that he did not like where this story was going. "After sometime, Adda seemed to had become an ordinary girl. Pleasant, eloquent, undeniably beautiful – she quickly became the pride and joy of the Temerian court. However, dark rumors began to circulate among the royal family's servants. In her bedchamber, away from prying eyes, Adda had committed horrible atrocities against her maidservants..."

"I heard those rumors, are you telling me..." Vernon Roche sounds a bit frightened. "That those horrible atrocities were one of those... Relapses?" He then looked at the amulet that Malak was holding. "Oh shit,"

"Yes, this is the amulet used to keep those relapses in check." Malak explained. "If she's not wearing it, the relapses will get worse and worse."

"Do you think she'll..." Roche paused for a second. "Become a beast again?"

"I don't know, which is why we must find her quickly." Malak told him. "Especially if one of her captors is on the receiving end of one of them." Which could cause him to kill Adda in self-defense.

"But how, there's no clue or trace." Roche spoke in frustration.

A short silence endured as neither of them knew what to do. The rest of the Blue Stripes kept on searching the area for a clue but to no success. Malak looked at the sky for a bit as it was gonna get dark soon. He then looked down and looked at the amulet. How did Adda managed to drop this? She was perfectly aware of how important it was. I need to put this back on her, before... Wait, Adda never takes this off, so it definitely... Malak then sniffed the amulet, which contained Adda's smell.

He then try to identify which side they took her. East. Malak quickly made his way to the horse.

"What are you doing?" Roche asked him as he saw Malak running to his horse.

"They took her east." Malak told him.

"How do you know?" He asked him.

Malak didn't bother to answer, he just started galloping into the direction of the scent the scent that caught.

"Shit! Follow the Witcher!" He heard Roche yelled as Malak rides away from them.

Thanks everyone who followed and favorite this story.

Questions and Answers:

Makak is also a mage, so does this mean that he does not use the witcher signs or is his fighting style a mix of both sword and magic. Anyway, great chapter. Waiting for more.

Sword, magic and unarmed techniques {punches and kicks}

Well at least he does care deeply about triss, and is in a relationship with her. It might not be one from a pure love aspect, but they obviously care about each other.
What time period are we in? I don't know much about Witcher except the third game, so are we before or after that?
As for the elves any chance he could not kill all of them? Having an elf lover would be awesome and a fun way to get them on his side.
I hope ciri doesn't get mad about all his lovers when they get back together, and I am excited to see more of the history between those two.

This story takes place after the books but before the games.

he memory with Ciri was nice even if it led to Malak getting tossed through a tree and nice learning a bit about how his time was spent between learning to be a Witcher and how to be a Mage

While brief the lemon with Triss was pretty hot and while them fucking might have started because of the Pogram but I do hope they keep fucking because there is some real love there

Nice to see Malak has the luck of a devil at gambling and has no issue getting into a brawl while I remember hope he's a great Gwent player

Yeah Adda getting captured by Scoia'tael isn't great still imagine how happy and grateful Adda will be when he does save her and it's leading to Malak working with the Blue stripes and by that I mean he gets to hang out with the only two blue stripes people care about Roche and Ves

Now since I hope Malak has been on quite a few adventures and slayed a bunch of monsters already since Adda did mention his legend is nearing that of his old mans things I hope he's slayed are the likes of Golyat, Dagon, The White Lady, Dragon of Fyresdal, Alpha Garkain, Ignis Fatus, Royal Wyvern, a Dracoturtle etc oh and while this wouldn't have increased his fame as a child he could have killed old speartip impressing the Witcher's

With hopefully killing Dagon I hope when he gets to Toussaint the Lady of the Lake gives him Aerondight and while there she takes him as her lover

Now while I spoke a fair bit and will probably continue to speak of the various ladies I hope end up in Malaks harem some friends I hope he has are
Letho as his best friend maybe
Rockstride and Wham a Wham
Obviously all his uncles to like Zoltan and Dandelion but I feel like those are a given haha

Back to lovers though I mentioned a succubus and vampire could be counted among his lovers meant to say two Aguara could be two namely the two that appeared in the fox children graphic novel

I'm also hoping Malak is the only human that can freely come and go from the home of the Dryads maybe he could have saved Morenn's life so Queen Eithne lets him freely travel in their woods

Not going to lie I kinda went a bit nuts with thinking of things Malak could have done already like that list of monsters he's already killed and where he could have traveled to like he could have spent a year in Zerrikania and Ofiri half the year in each Kingdom before returning to the Northern Kingdoms

Last question I'm terrible with dates in the witcher but am I right in thinking Malak is a few years older than Ciri

Oh and with Ciri instead of having that Rose tattoo maybe she could have gotten something related to Malak

Eager for the next chapter

Malak it's pretty much starting his Witcher career in a way, he did kill a few monsters but nothing worth noting yet. But don't worry, we'll get some grandiose monster slaying in the story.

The Sword that Malak carries is a mash up of several swords from the game, as I couldn't really pick which one I wanted him to have.

Him and Letho will not be friends since they will have to fight each other for the Emperor's...assignment.

I honestly don't know how old Ciri is. The dates in The Witcher are pretty confusing to be honest. Ciri was born sometime after the A Question of Price short story and Malak was born sometime after The Last Wish short story

Ah so okay noticed the part where you said Malak and Triss keeping fucking due to it being physical and emotional but not romantic so I'd like to make a adjustment to what I said and say hope they do grow romantic feelings

Also yes still have my fingers crossed that Geralt and Triss haven't hooked up previously in this because I just really don't like the idea of Malak being tunnel buddies with Geralt haha and this will be very random but I know there was a time Triss, Geralt and Ciri traveled and Triss well let's just say she was having some trouble due to a very upset stomach in this instead of Geralt and Ciri caring for her Malak and Ciri could have looked after her

Something that just hit me to is with Triss calling Ciri little sister could Malak call Triss sister instead of aunt Triss?

Now am I on to money when I say the reason Malak goes by Malak of Cintra instead of say Malak of Vengerberg, of Aedirn or even of Rinde besides that last one not being as good as the others is him honoring Ciri

Feel free to summarise and cut out parts of what I said in any response otherwise the page might end up mostly responding to me instead of the actual chapter haha

Malak knows Triss longer than Ciri, his habit of calling her aunt started earlier.

Yup, it's one hundred percent because of Ciri that he uses the surname "Of Cintra"

She does have a tattoo in Malak's honor. Although it's more visible than the other.

{About your other comment.}

Okay just saw the new Avatar idea and it has me excited

Aside from taking more after his fire nation father in appearance I really hope your oc is someone that has his own code of morality which seems to be the case since in the description he's not going to embody light

Also I really hope you have it as a harem pairing

I also hope he's an absolute beast in combat and that when he leaves the south to go on his journey he's only joined by Katara

He will be a mash up of water and fire nation in appearance.

Overall, his character will be an antithesis to Aang. He's cynical,apathetic,pragmatic, and has a lone-wolf mentality, as he had to fend for himself due to his mother dying and his vagabond father abandoning him. {He's the same age as Sokka.}

He has a disdain for bending due to his mother being killed because of it, preferring to use weapons, martial arts and subterfuge rather than using his bending ability. (He will get over his disdain as the story progresses.)

About his role as the Avatar, he sincerely doesn't really care about the nations and has a belief that they should solve their own problems instead of waiting and expecting a savior to do it for them and his team Avatar is mostly accompanying him in order to try to convince him to take action. But in compensation, he's way more effective than Aang when he actually chooses to take action.
