Chapter 3- A new Ally
A couple of months had passed and now nearly everyone on Berk had his own Dragon because of Hiccup. All Vikings where doing their daily chores. Fishlegs was in the Arena teaching the kids the History of Berk. Ruff and Tuff where blowing stuff up with their Hideous Zippelback. Astrid was Training with some Boys wich where two to three years older than her but she could easily compete with them. Hiccup was flying around on Toothless.
Suddenly there was a familiar voice in the Center of the Village. Gates was standing on top of a wooden box and ordered all the Vikings to make Room for the incomin Vehicles. As soon as she said that four Stryker APC's came out of the Forest and in the Center of the Village. As the came to an halt the ramps on the Backside of the Stykers. Soldiers dismounted the APC's and went into a battle stance. A man stepped out of the last Stryker. "Where's Stoick the Vast?" He asked. Hiccup knew the man. It was Cooper. Stoick came out of the crowd with his Axe in his Hand ready to attack the trespassers. Two Soldiers raised their Rifles at Stoick but Cooper gestured with his hand to lower their Weapons. The Soldiers brought down their Rifles and made room for the man to pass. Stoick walked up to Cooper and said threateningly:"Get of my Island. NOW!" Stoick raised his Axe. "If you only Touch me. These men are gonna turn you into Swiss cheese" Stoick looked confused as he lowered his Axe. "Swiss what" "doesn't really matter"replied Cooper. "I came her to talk to you about an alliance." Stoick started to laugh hysterically. "An ALLIANCE you say? What kind of alliance do you have in your mind" Stoick asked. Cooper then said:" I mean you fight with Dragons and we fight for them why not combine our Forces to make us Stronger. We have strong allies around the archipelago and Berk is the last Island we need to close the circle of defense. I have big weapons wich can sink Ships in an instant and i have a Fleet of modern Ships my self." "Okey but if you have all these things then why do you need our help?" Stoick asked. "Well Berk is the third biggest Island in the archipelago and we have and kind of alliance with your son already so why not with the Whole Village. I could let 100 of my men in your Village under your command. They would secure peace inside the Village and would help you on your daily chores as a Chief. How does it sound?" Asked Cooper and stretched his hand forward to give it to the chief. "I'll think about it" Stoick said. Cooper took back his Hand and said:" okey no problem. I'll come back in three days and if you made up your mind before that then come and visit me on the other end of the Island. But please come unarmed, my men don't like it when a Viking is walking towards them with an Axe." Cooper got back in the APC and the Soldiers followed him shortly after. They started their engines and drove of into the forest and disappeared between the trees.
Stoick glared at his Son who just landed with his Nightfury. Hiccup looked at his father with an innocent face but Stoick didn't eat it. "You had an alliance with people who where on my island without me knowing?" Said Stoick in front of the whole village. "Dad.. i can explain" Hiccup begann "then explain. I'm waiting" Stoick said and crossed his Arms. "Well.. when i and Toothess got shot down that Night, these people got me out of there and then I've met Jack Cooper and he had shown me all of his Base and with his help i took down the Red Death." Hiccup confessed. The Berkians started to whisper and Hiccup looked down in shame. But his Father took his Chin and pointed it upwards to face him. "No son. only YOU. You where the one who took down the Red Death. Not them" Hiccup started to smirk a little bit and hugged his father.
Three days later Stoick came to the conclusion that a alliance was a pretty good idea especially with an powerful ally as they are. Stoick waited outside in the Center of the Village. The four APC's arrived again and 32 Soldiers dismounted the vehicles including Cooper. Stoick saw him and walked up to him and gave him a Handshake. "Yes" Said Stoick with a smile. Cooper accepted the handshake and returned it. "I'm glad that you accepted the offer Stoick" said Cooper.
About 2 years later the dragon hunters became a thing. Some sections of the beaches of Berk where mined and others had trenches for Tanks. These Tanks where Berks anti ship defense. Drones, Helicopters, and AWACS planes circled around the Island. It was Impossible to come near the island without everybody on Berk knowing it. Watch posts where build around these Areas where the Military couldn't be so the Vikings protected these Areas. The security level was so high because the dragon hunters had made many attempts to invade the Island because the dragons Berk has. These dragons where worth tenth of thousands of gold coins especially that Nighfrury they had. But they wouldn't come far because the M1A2 Abrams Tanks guarding the most critical spots had a effective range of about 3 kilometers and with the modern and accurate fire control Computers wich it has on board they could sent their payload over the ocean and hit their Target with an 89% hit/miss ratio.
The Village had an some sort of Police if you want. They called it BDF (Berk defense Force). The FOB (Forward Operating Base) of the BDF was in the Center of the Village. They where 50 soldiers wich where patrolling in groups of 2 People in and around the Village. Their job was to keep safety in the Village and among the Villagers. They weren't supposed to fight in direct combat. They only stayed in the Village. Every 5 weeks they where swapped with a new Unit of 50 Soldiers then the old Unit was integrated in the regular forces to either attack or defend. To control the Airspace there are C-Ram positions around the Village and the Base. An Airbase was established on the nearby Island wich was connected with the main Base at Berk. If needed the Airbase could send Fighters and attack aircraft to protect Berk.
Berk had made many allies like the protectors of the Wing who where protected by the Military as well. But this wasn't the case when Hiccup and his Dragon rider Squadron (Hiccup, Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs and the Twins) first got on their island. Luckily they had the Marines on their side to get them out.
1 year ago- Protectors of the Wing
Hiccup was preparing Toothless for an reconnaissance mission with the Marines on a new island that was spotted by one of the Drones. "You ready bud?" He asked Toothless who nodded and then nudged his rider. "Okey guys let's go" he said to the other Riders and they flew off. Hiccup had a radio strapped to his chest and with an push of a button he could contact the Marines. The riders flew ahead and the marines should catch up after a while with their Wasp Carrier.
The riders stayed airborne for a couple of minutes to observe the island and they saw a village with a strange dragon statue a Hiccup said:"We gonna go down over there in the Forest. Any objections?" Snotlout raised a hand "no one? Good let's go" said Hiccup and Snotlout grumbled something.
They landed in the Forest. Astrid had her Axe in her Hands ready to halve some skulls. They walked until only Hiccup and Astrid where left. Astrid looked around to only see Hiccup in front of her but no one else. "uuuh Hiccup?" "Psssst! Don't move" he said looking up in the trees. "We come in p-" he got hit with an poisonous dart in the arm and went unconscious. Astrid was struck moments later too.
They woke up in a town wich was habited by masked people and one big guy with an big Axe. Hiccup looked around to look for his equipment and saw the radio the marines gave him laying on the floor in front of him. He stood up "i'm Hiccup horrendous haddock the third i come to talk with your leader" as soon as he finished he got pushed back down on the ground as a tall women with a Katana on her belt approached them and the people made a corridor for her and the big guy bowed down and said "Queen Marla, queen of the Protectors of the Wing" Marla looked at the group in front of her in disgust. "I'm Queen Marla and you have trespassed on my Island. You are going to stand trail."
The group was in the Prison. Astrid and Ruff made a plan to take down the guards and rush to their dragons but Hiccup denied it because he wanted to gain the trust of these people. "Hiccup i would rather have this conversation on the backs of our dragons" Astrid said.
Hiccup stood in front of Marla who was sitting in her throne wich was guarded by 2 guards with spears and the big guy from earlier. "You Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the third are charged with trespassing on my Island heavily armed and for abuse of the Dragons. Do you decline?" "Yes your honor. We weren't trespassing, we where exploring the Island" replied Hiccup. "Heavily armed?" Asked Marla. "But only for self defense" said Hiccup. "And we don't abuse the Dragons. These dragons allow us to ride them on their backs. We're friends of the Dragons just like you." He continued. "Thats what the last Dragon Hunter said and now he's nothing but a dusty pile of Bones" said Marla. "Dragon hunters? We hate these guys and we fight them." "I don't believe you Hiccup" she said with a glare on her Face. "Let the Dragons decide what should happen to them" Marla stated and the crowd cheered and shouted:" to the nest, to the nest, ...". Hiccup and the others where transported to the mountain. While walking Hiccup managed to press the panic Button on his Radio. "Shut up! The panic Button has bin activated. This is Jack Cooper. Who pressed the Panic Button?" No response "I repeat, who pressed the Panic Button?" Again no response. "Smith track the radio down and tell me who's mission is there"commanded Cooper "yessir" responded the officer. "Sir it's a reconnaissance mission under the Command of Staff Sergeant William Dunn, Tombstone. Sir" told the officer. "Wait these are the riders" said Cooper with a shocked look on his face "Tombstone, intervene now and get our guys back" Commanded Cooper. "Here's Tombstone. Roger that Command, we're going in i repeat we're going in". Dunn gathered his men and the 6-4 Squad and went to the Flex-Deck where two RHIBs where waiting for them.
While Recker was driving Dunn tried to reach out to Hiccup "Hiccup this is Tombstone-1 how copy?" No response. "Hiccup this is Tombstone-1 come in damnit" still no response. "Recker double tapp" Recker nodded and went as fast as the boat could drive. "Dunn what do we do when we across locals?" Asked Irish. "Wait for their response. If they're hostile against us we shoot them" replied Dunn. "As easy as that" said Pac. They landed on the beach and made their way inland. They didn't meet any locals so they could move pretty fast and search for the Group.
"Hiccup, since we are friends of the Dragons we care about them and so do they. This means we list to their judgment" stated Marla as the went through a cave until they stood in front of a nest full of Speed Stingers. "Holy shit.." Hiccup said as he was thrown in to the nest wich was full of bones of other people. Hiccup panicked as one of the dragons lunged at him. He dodged the Stinger another one was about to attack but then someone yelled "ON THE GROUND OR Y'ALL ARE DEAD" it was Dunn two of the Guards attacked them but got knocked out by the but of the of Dunn and Gates. Davis and Droze went to the nest and opened automatic fire with their Rifles on the Speed Stingers killing every single one of them. They tossed Hiccup one end of a rope to pull him up. Bear and Pac untied the other riders while Gates and Irish held the other Guards back with their Rifles. "Get of of my Island or you're going to regret it" threatened Marla the Group of Soldiers. Dunn just grinned at that and walked out of the Cave with the other following him.
Suddenly a Arrow struck one of the Guards "Dragon Hunters!" Another guard yelled. "We got this fall back into the Cave" shouted Bear. "No i'm going to protect my Island" said Marla and jumped out of her Cover to attack them. "Cease fire, cease fire" said Dunn. Marla slashed through the Dragon Hunters leaving one alive to interrogate him. "Where went Vigo you Dragon Hunting piece of shit?" Shouted Marla. Gates pulled her away "we got a better way of doing that" she said. Then Bear took another Hunter who somehow was alive and kneeled him in front of the other, then he pulled out his Pistol and aimed it at the Hunter. "I'm asking only once or he gets it. Where's Vigo? And don't even try lying to me!" Bear said threateningly. The Dragon Hunter remained Silent. Then a Shot. Marla twitched at the sudden loud bang. The the Dragon Hunter dropped dead on the Ground with a hole in his head. "Last chance. Where did he go?" The Dragon Hunter opened his Mouth in shock as friend lied dead on the floor. "Okey okey but please have mercy" he said. "Sure" Bear replied with a evil grin under his mask. "Okey Vigo headed south" he said. "Tombstone-Actual please Check that" Dunn asked "there's a fleet heading north not south, over" the radio sounded. The Hunters eyes widened. "Wrong answer" said Bear with a creepy cold voice. "I'm so sorry i thought he would-" he got cut off as Gates slashed his Throat.
"Oh no" Marla said as she looked at the Vulcano. "Whats wrong?" Asked Astrid. "The great protector.. he's gone!" She said in shock. "I think i know who did it" said Hiccup. "TELL ME!" Marla demanded. Hiccup pointed at the dead Dragon Hunter.
"Tombstone-Actual, this is Tombstone-1 we need a taxi over her, over" called Dunn through his radio.
"Tombstone-1 roger that 2 Blackhawks heading your way 2 minutes, over" came the answer from the Ship
"Thank you Tombstone-Actual, Tombstone-1 out"
The Blackhawks landed and took the 2 squads. The riders and Marla came on their Dragons. They've spotted the fleet and and 2 AV-8 Harrier Jets flew past them and sank 2 of the escort ships. The main ship where Vigo, Ryker and the Dragon where was the one in the center of the Formation but Vigo fled the Ship. But before he jumped into the rescue Boat he started to burn the ship wich started automatically to sink. "There's Vigo" called Davis "lets get his ass" continued Droze. "Negative forget about him, we need to save that Dragon first" said Dunn who got a agreeing nod from Gates. Bear and Pac boarded the Ship killing all Dragon Hunters still on it. They got M-134 minigun Support from the Blackhawks. They went down to the Cages and saw the Dragon. Bear pulled out his Pump-Gun and shot the lock. But then the Ship began to capsize to the left and Bears right Torso was crushed by the Dragons Tail wich had spikes on it, as it slid over the Deck. The Dragon escaped and headed to his Island. Pac and a severely injured Bear went on the Top Deck but Bear couldn't really keep up do to blood loss. They barely made it upwards. The Ship sank more and more. As the Mast fell down, Pac barely escaped the Death. The Flames grew bigger and bigger and threatened to burn the two Soldiers alive.
The Blackhawks couldn't land on the Deck because it was to risky. "Pac jump, go home leave me here" said Bear holding his right Arm wich was crushed. "Are you out of your god damn Mind. I ain't leaving you here to die. Never. Nah. Not happening" replied Pac. "Pac there isn't any Time to think. Go and save yourself. LEAVE!" Shouted Bear. Pac's eyes started to tear up "NO I'M NOT LEAVING YOU BEHIND. WE SURVIVE TOGETHER OR WE DIE TOGETHER." Yelled Pac. Then a high pitch tone appeared and Pac was lifted into the air by Toothless. Astrid took Bear and Stormfly threw him on the Saddle behind Astrid.
Pac was thrown behind Hiccup on the Saddle. Bear held on tight on Astrid and simultaneously he tried to stop the blood loss wich came from a punktured artery. Astrid flew at Top Speed to the Carrier wich was waiting for Bear. Medics rushed to the Deck and as soon Astrid landed he was taken into the Ship to the surgery. Hiccup landed shortly after her and hugged her.
The 2 Blackhawks landed on the Helipads and 7 soldiers dismounted them.
Everything stopped and Gates ran down to the surgery room. Bear wasn't in a good state. She went up again where Astrid hugged her. What no one knew was that Gates and Bear where a couple. They had served for 12 years together and 2 years ago they started to date.
In the next morning the Doctor came on the Deck with a sad face "I'm sorry Lieutenant" Gates watched in shock and fell on her knees crying her heart out Astrid and Ruffnut went to her and tried their best to calm her but it was to much. She went out of the Military leaving Davis and Droze the only members of the 6-4.
