CHAPTER 4

ALEC'S POV

For the first time, I was not happy to see my sister, and I am sure she was not happy to see me as she barged into the house followed by Demetri and Felix. Jane tried to go to the bedroom where my human was asleep but I blocked her path, angering her more.

"Jane. What are you doing here?"

"The better question is what are you doing here, brother? Why do you have a human here?"

I wanted to destroy Demetri, he ruined everything! My precious little secret was now, no longer a secret. I was being forced to share her very existence with someone else.

"Jane, please. She's my mate. I keep her here for her safety. Only Aro knows about her, she was supposed to remain here until she turned and through her newborn faze."

I could hear the creak of the door opening, drawing Jane's gaze, I wasn't worried about Jane using her gift. We had a promise, to never use our gifts on each other and on our mates, whenever we find them. My precious human stood hesitant in the doorway, she was nervous, I could hear her rapid heartbeats.

"Come here, princess. I would like you to meet some new people."

Her bare feet slapped against the wood floors as she hurried to my side, tucking herself into my side as I wrapped a protective arm around her.

"This is Jane, my sister, and Felix, you remember Demetri from last night. Guys this is, Princess."

I spared a glance at Princess, taking in her disheveled look and the dark bruises on her body, and the bruise around her neck that was in the shape of my hand. The bruises gave away our nightly activity, judging by the smirk on Felix and Demetri's faces.

"Princess, go get dressed and wait for me in the bedroom."

"Yes, sir."

Once she had disappeared back into the bedroom I turned back to Jane, her face was void of all emotions but I could see the hurt and betrayal in her eyes. We went from never keeping secrets to me hiding the very existence of my mate from her.

"Jane. I'm sorry. I didn't know how to handle this when I first found her and then Aro proposed keeping her in a secluded place and before long too much time had past and I felt like I could no longer tell you without hurting you."

"It would have hurt a lot less if you would have told me yourself. Now that the secret is out you can bring her to the castle and all this sneaking out will end."

I didn't want to bring Princess to the castle but now I didn't have a solid reason not to.

"I guess I will pack her bags."
