Christmas

There was just something about Christmas Trixie liked.

The toys? Oh they were on the tippy top of her list even if they were mixed in with clothes for her and books to chew on.

Being with her big brother? Sure. If only Tommy didn't get all the toys Mommy and Daddy said she couldn't play with.

Meanie actually being nice and because of the holiday? Definitely.

"Angelica?" Tommy asked as he sat Trixie down on her mat.

"What is it you dum— I mean smart baby?" Angelica wondered, looking up from her brand new Cynthia P. I. toy.

"You're done being mean right?"

"Well it's been hard but Mommy says I'm turning over a new leaf so it must be good."

"Oh," Tommy muttered, walking towards his new pop-up book about adventures and looked through it.

"Meanie not yucky?" Trixie wondered.

"Not anymore," Meanie admitted. She smiled a little as the infant hugged her new princess toy. "Daddy was going to get you a talking gopher but I told him you might like princesses instead like I do." She leaned forward and whispered softly. "And between you and me, I'm glad you're here instead of a drooling monster. I don't think I would ever be nice if he was here."

Trixie giggled, clapping her hands in response.

Though one thing wouldn't leave her mind as the day continued on.

If Meanie was going to be good now then what could she call her?

She couldn't say Angelica yet so as the toddler and Uncle Drew and Aunt Charlotte began to leave, she started to cry.

"Angie! Angie!" Trixie wailed, reaching out for her.

"Looks like Trixie wants to say goodbye too," Daddy smiled.

Trixie's wails softened to hiccups as the grownups cooed watching her older cousin's affectionate nature towards her.

Whatever turning over a new leaf was, she was starting to like the sound of it.
