New Years tooth
Tommy knew what pain was. It hurt.
Especially teeth pain as Didi gave him a wet washcloth to bite on while Trixie happily ate her baby food.
"I just can't believe Champ has to suffer from teething before we bring in the new year," Stu sighed.
"I'm not happy about it either but we were warned about this months ago," Didi reminded him as she soothed Tommy by rubbing his back. "If it wasn't for Betty and Drew, we'd still be going to that quak of a dentist instead of a professional one."
"You're right, Deed. I only hope it'll be easier when Trixie starts teething."
"Don't jinx it honey."
After breakfast, Trixie looked up from playing with Pinky as she noticed her big brother chewing on a banana Stu had given him.
"Does that hurt?" Trixie wondered.
Tommy nodded as he took the banana out of his mouth. "It does but wet and soft things always help. Why do you ask?"
"Well Mama and Dada were talking about me and you help me when it my turn?"
Tommy nodded before going back to chewing on the banana as he could feel two new teeth coming in and he didn't like the pain one bit.
He heard Stu and Didi talking about a new year before night night time the day before so he wondered if his new teeth were a result of the new year.
Did it mean he was a bad baby or a bad big brother?
While he pondered those thoughts, Trixie held Pinky close to him as their parents watched from afar.
"Isn't that cute?" Didi smiled. "She wants to help Tommy too."
"Yeah," Stu agreed. "Trixie's got a big heart just like her mother."
As if she understood their conversation, Trixie clapped her hands in agreement and dropped Pinky to the floor as Tommy hugged her close.
