Easter chocolate heist
Neither Tommy nor Trixie had been fans of Passover, having nothing to do but wait until the grownups finished a long prayer before any of them could eat.
Easter was a different story as Didi helped them dye eggs the day before he came.
The Easter bunny.
The two babies liked the idea of a fluffy bunny bringing them gifts.
"He's like Santa Claus only he doesn't bring a lot of stuff because he got slapped with a lawsuit a long time ago," Angelica said as she was dropped off that afternoon after they had dyed their eggs. "Though the bestest thing about the Easter bunny is the chocolate!"
"But we can't eat any," Trixie frowned.
"And my mom says we gotta get lots of teeth first before we get any," Tommy finished.
Angelica stared at the kitchen table, eyeing the basket of sweets Stu and Didi had left unopened before turning back to her cousins. "Tommy, you're allowed to eat cookies aren't you?"
"Yeah but Trixie isn't."
"And your mommy's cookies always got chocolate in them right?"
"Right," Tommy muttered. He frowned, realizing where this was going. "Angelica, you're not going back to being bad are you?"
Angelica shook her head. "I hadn't been bad in months so why would I start now?"
"Angie, if you and Tommy get the chocolate that Mommy and Daddy left then what do I get?" Trixie frowned.
The two older children never thought of that before Tommy remembered how his baby sister was now old enough to eat solid foods as he crawled to the kitchen and stopped at one of the bottom cabinets.
Opening the door, he found a cup of chocolate pudding and grinned.
"Here you go Trixie! Happy before Easter!" Tommy giggled as he opened the cup before handing it to Trixie.
"Not bad Tommy. Not bad at all," Angelica smiled, getting herself a chair to stand on as she grabbed a piece of chocolate for herself and Tommy.
After her last tummy ache, she didn't want to devour too much of the delicious sweet as she handed Tommy his place.
Trixie giggled, devouring her pudding cup in seconds as she watched her big brother and cousin eat their pieces of chocolate.
"Angelica, you think Mommy or Daddy will be mad when they see some of the chocolate gone?" Tommy asked once everyone had eaten.
Angelica shrugged as she wasn't sure how to answer his question but she hoped Stu and Didi wouldn't be mad finding two pieces of chocolate candy and a cup of chocolate pudding missing.
Maybe it had been a heist but then again it hadn't been stealing, making her conflicted with herself.
Still, she enjoyed making her cousins happy before Easter for she knew neither of them were old enough for the real fun of the holiday just yet.
Perhaps being nicer had its advantages after all as she felt her cousins hug her in gratitude.
"You're welcome, you smart babies."
