AN: I'm happy that you guys are enjoying the story, and I've been enjoying writing it thus far. I hope to keep writing new chapters that can meet everyone's expectations. I remember being complete garbage when it came to writing stories, if you guys remember those ones. ...Oof. Looking back, those stories were just bad. I didn't know what I was doing. But now look at how much I've improved! Well, without further ado, on to the new chapter, shall we?

A School for Monsters! - Welcome to the Hero Course!
"Well, we're here. Good luck staying alive, kid."
And so, the bus drove off back through the tunnel as Izuna stood at the bus stop with his luggage by his side. He took a look around and narrowed his exposed eye, his pupil instinctively narrowing into a thin reptilian slit as his predatory instincts told him to remain on his guard. Nevertheless, he picked up his bag and began walking down the path towards what he assumed to be the school. But it looked a lot less like a school and more like a haunted castle. A very realistic haunted castle…
The landscape was putting him on edge as it was. Dead trees that made up the forest, the skies blackened with storm clouds while the occasional flash of lightning and rumble of thunder only added to the creepy ambience. His nose crinkled in discomfort as the smell of blood coming from the lake was almost unbearable, especially with his heightened sense of smell. Izuna shuddered but still pressed on as he fought the urge to run away and try his luck on the streets.
"Looks like Halloween came early for this place…" he mumbled.
He suddenly froze as he heard the telltale sound of wheels coming in his direction. Bicycle wheels to be precise. He quickly turned around as he heard a scream and saw a girl on a bike desperately trying to stop as she was heading straight for him! It sounded like she was trying to stop, but her bike was going too fast!
"LOOK OUT! OUTTA THE WAY!" she screamed.
As luck would have it, her front wheel got caught on a rock in the middle of the path and launched her and her bike into the air! Thinking fast, Izuna spread his wings and took flight as he did what his father always told him a hero would do… and that's help those in need. And this situation definitely fit the bill. He caught the girl in his arms bridal style and as the bike fell to the ground in a heap, he slowly descended as he sighed in relief. If he hadn't caught this girl, she could've been seriously hurt from such a crash!
"That could have been a lot worse than just a messed up bike." Izuna said as he retracted his wings. "Are you alright, miss…?"
But as he looked at the girl in his arms, Izuna was lost for words.
She was stunningly beautiful! Unlike any girl he's ever seen in his age group, and Izuna's never really been focused on dating since puberty hit, mainly because he was a little too focused on trying to become a pro hero at the time. But now he took the time to truly appreciate the beauty that this girl possessed.
Her long pink hair and alabaster skin seemed to almost glow in the dim light of the cloudy sky. She had a heart shaped face with large, round emerald green eyes that seemed to give her a sort of innocent look. She was dressed in the Yokai Academy girl's uniform which was a green blazer over a white dress shirt, a red necktie that resembled a ribbon, a plaid skirt, and a pair of loafers. She was also wearing what looked like a black leather choker.
"Oh, I'm so sorry… I'm anemic. I get a little dizzy sometimes." the girl said as she looked at Izuna. "Are you okay?"
"Me? I'm fine, I should be asking if you're okay! That was some crash you were almost in!" exclaimed Izuna.
The girl didn't seem to have heard what he said as she looked him in the eyes, he got a facefull of her natural beauty. It was almost hypnotic to the poor dragon quirked lad.
'Oh my Kami, this girl is beautiful! I've never seen a girl as beautiful as her, at least not among the girls in my age group!' Izuna mentally exclaimed. 'Why is my heart beating so fast, and why does my face feel so hot? Is this because of those hormone things that my mom and dad told me about?'
Suddenly the strange girl's face almost immediately changed from one of innocent curiosity to one of shock and concern as she noticed something leaking out from behind the bandages over Izuna's eye.
"Oh! Blood!"
Izuna snapped out of his mental questioning and set the girl down on her feet and reached up with his fingers to touch his face. Sure enough when he pulled his hand away he saw crimson red liquid on them. And it was fresh, too.
"Huh. My wound must've reopened when I saved you from the crash. I guess I should have gotten stitches after all." Izuna mumbled to himself.
He was surprised however when, instead of being repulsed, the girl just took a handkerchief out of her blazer pocket and began wiping the blood away. And while the draconic lad was surprised and touched by her actions, he noticed that she was getting a faraway look in her eyes. And that was beginning to set off alarm bells in his mind. Because he's heard the stories of Himiko Toga and how crazy that blood-drinking girl was when his dad had to fight her back in his UA days… and he just made himself depressed again.
"Your blood… I can smell it…"
Izuna yelped and blushed as the girl fell forward onto his chest. He's never had this kind of interaction with the opposite sex before, so he's really freaking out on the inside even though he's concerned that the girl might be experiencing another dizzy spell because of the anemia that she mentioned earlier.
"Oh no!... It's happening again!..." she gasped.
'Again? What does she mean by again'? Pondered Izuna.
The girl looked up and stared him right in the eye, causing Izuna to go an even deeper shade of red. He was so red in fact that he could make a strawberry green with envy. And as she ever so slowly brought her face closer and closer to his, his teenage mind was a flurry of panicked thoughts.
'What is she doing? Oh my Kami, are we gonna kiss? I can't just let her kiss me like this, we've only just met! She's moving too fast! I AM NOT READY FOR THIS! Mommy!...'
"You see… the truth is…"
Now, Izuna was expecting a lot of things to happen in this scenario, but they were most certainly NOT for him to feel a sharp, piercing pain in his neck! He glanced down, and in the corner of his eye Izuna saw the girl sinking her needle-sharp fangs into her prey!...
Which was HIM!
"I'm a vampire!" she said as she literally slurped out a large mouthful of Izuna's blood.
And as she kept drinking, Izuna finally began to regain control of his motor functions and started panicking on the outside.
"A VAMPIRE?!" he screamed.
He managed to get her to let go of his neck and covered the still bleeding wounds. The blood flowed a little too quickly for a pair of tiny puncture wounds where her fangs pierced his skin. His analytical side theorized that this girl, if she really is a vampire, has a form of anticoagulant within her saliva that allows her to feed from someone longer. But his more easily panicked human side was causing him to have a panic attack as he tried to stop the bleeding.
"NONONONONONONONONO! SHE SUCKED MY BLOOD, SHE SUCKED MY BLOOD!" screamed Izuna as he ran around like a chicken with its head cut off.
"Oh, I'm so sorry! My name is Moka Akashiya, and I never would have done that to you if I wasn't a… a…"
"A vampire? Like, afraid of crosses and garlic? THAT kind of vampire?" Izuna asked, his panic subsiding a bit.
He knew if he kept spazzing out with the wounds he had, then he'd just bleed out faster. Plus his quirk gave him an impressive healing factor, so he just needed to calm down and let it kick in. The girl, Moka, got all bashful as if she was talking to her first crush.
"Yeah. And I have to say, you have very delicious blood. Even if it's a little spicy." she said sweetly.
Which really didn't make Izuna feel any better about the situation.
After he got over the shock and they both calmed down a bit, Izuna and Moka continued on their way to the school. One of Moka's bike wheels broke so Izuna offered to carry it for her, which the pink haired girl was grateful for. He was easily carrying it as bikes are made from a lightweight material and he's stronger than he looks.
"So, uh, Izuna was it? Why did you react like you did earlier? Do you not like vampires?" Moka asked.
"Honestly, no. I think vampires are awesome, I was just surprised is all. I mean, it's not every day someone bites you on the neck and starts drinking your blood." Izuna replied, trying to remain calm as he waved off the earlier incident.
Moka laughed and said "Yeah, I guess you're right."
She gave the green eyed boy a smile that just made his heart start beating like a jackhammer in his chest.
"I'm so glad that you don't hate vampires, Izuna! Maybe we can be friends!" Moka said.
Izuna couldn't help but think of Moka's cheerful demeanor and innocence as highly endearing. She just seemed as cute as a puppy and she didn't even know it!
'I wonder if it's possible to weaponize cuteness.' Izuna thought to himself.
Out loud he said "I'd like that, Moka. I'd be happy to be friends with you."
After about ten more minutes of walking the two made it to the school and were guided to the auditorium where they sat through the orientation ceremony. It was all of the standard stuff such as dress code, classes, electives and the like. On the upside, when he got his schedule handed to him Izuna found out that he was in the school's Hero Course, and Class 1-A at that, so that was neat. He was pretty excited. He was at a new school, a fresh start, no one treating him like the plague because of a misunderstanding with his hero notes, it was gonna be a good time!
He was thinking that nothing could possibly make this situation a bad one!
"Hello everyone, and welcome to Yokai Academy's Hero Course, Class 1-A! I'm your homeroom teacher, Ms. Nekonome, and I'll be helping you all become the greatest heroes you can be!" said a cheerful woman with short sandy-blonde hair who looked almost like she hair a pair of cat ears lying flat against her head. "Now, I hope you're all prepared to learn how to be heroes, and to blend in with modern society. Because as you all should know, Yokai Academy is a school for monsters."
Izuna's eyes turned into blank white circles as his jaw dropped.
He had literally enrolled into a school for monsters?
'Good feeling's gone…'
***To Be Continued…***
Ending A/N: It's been quite some time since this story's seen an update, but I hope you all like this chapter. Yes, Izuna is indeed a part of the Hero Course at Yokai Academy! I mean, where else would you expect him to end up? Now, I have a pretty good idea what kind of quirk I want to give to Moka, yes, the monsters in this story do have quirks of their own before anyone asks, but if you guys have suggestions for Moka's quirk, or even Kurumu's, Mizore's, or anyone else's really, let me know in the reviews and if I like them enough, who knows, I might use one or two of them. Anyway, that's all I got for this chapter. Thanks for reading and I'll see you next time!
