AN: Here we go, the big Finale and the first story that will be marked complete. I will say now that the main focus of this chapter will be NaruSaku. GaaHina are side characters at best. I will, however, do a separate chapter for Gaara and Hinata should I get enough requests, like at least 10 requests... since this story isn't as popular as my other Naruto fics. A big thank you to 12Ookami12 for being an amazing beta reader. Be sure to give his work a look.

"Kurama/Inner Sakura"

Bloodline/Jutsu

Chapter 3 – Together at last.

Two months had come and gone, and Naruto had decided to grow his hair out back to his look from the war. Especially after Tsunami and Inari said she almost didn't recognize him if it wasn't for his whisker birthmarks. However, he kept the same clothing he had been wearing since he became a Jonin, and judging from the blushing faces and squeezes from the female population, the longer hair and clothing combination was the right choice.

'I only hope Sakura likes it...' He thought with a nervous smile.

"Are you seriously still worried about whether or not your mate returns your feelings? Even after all the hints you've been given?" Kurama deadpanned.

'Look, this is the important, even more so than becoming Hokage. If Sakura turns me down for some reason, then Hinata broke up with me for nothing. Besides, what's the point in becoming Hokage if I can't share it with the girl that means everything to me?' The blonde countered.

"...then you should have nothing to worry about." The fox said flatly.

The future Hokage just chose to ignore his partner as he made his way to Kakashi's office waving to the people who greeted him.

[Meanwhile at the Hospital]

Sakura was currently in Tsunade's office standing at attention. "You wanted to see my milady?"

The busty blonde nodded, crossing her arms under her ridiculous bust. "Yes, thank you for coming. I have something important to talk to you about. You see I'm not getting any younger and I'd like to retire at some point."

Tsunade took a moment to take a drink of her tea. "You've been called my successor since the war, and I think with Naruto being so close to achieving his dream, or at least one of them, if not both of them..." She gives a knowing grin causing Sakura's face to heat up. "It's time to start preparing you to take over as the Head of the Hospital. It's time for the new generation to take charge of the future."

"Lady Tsunade... I don't know what to say..." Sakura's blush only intensified as tears rolled down her cheeks as she pulled the woman she saw as a second mother into a hug. "I'd be honored... Thank you."

"You're welcome." The Slug Sannin said quietly as she returned the hug before letting go. "Now, I do believe today was supposed to be when our knucklehead comes back from his vacation. Why don't you take the rest of the day off? I'll send Shizune to come to find you if an emergency comes up that we need your help. Go and lay your claim to your man."

"Right." The pinkette said with a determined look on her face as she went to head home, freshen up and look her best for when Naruto comes looking for her.

As she was leaving, she stopped by the front desk. "Lady Tsunade has given me the rest of the day off. Should Naruto come looking for me, direct him to my place if you don't mind?"

"Yes, of course, Miss Haruno." The receptionist said politely. "I wish you the best of luck."

"Does everyone know...?" Sakura groaned hiding her face behind her hands.

"Everyone in the Hospital at the very least." The girl behind the desk said with a nod

Sakura groans now. 'I swear if I didn't love Ino as a sister, I'd strangle the life out of her.'

"Some things never change... Ino pig could never keep her mouth shut. I bet she told the entire village even if we aren't officially with him yet." Her Inner persona grumbled with her agreeing.

"...Just... do as I asked. I'm heading out." She said leaving quickly before she gives in to her desire to pummel the platinum blonde.

However, as she was leaving noticed something peculiar, Hinata and Gaara walking the streets hand-in-hand, both with content smiles on their faces. 'I did hear rumors those two were spending time whenever Gaara was in the village on business... I didn't know they had gotten together.'

"Hinata! Gaara! How are you two?" The pinkette said waving them down.

"Oh, hello Sakura." Hinata said, her smile lessening slightly. She was still a little upset she had lost her lifelong crush to the pinkette even if she had moved on.

Seeing this Gaara gave the Navy-blue beauty's hand a gentle squeeze, earning a thankful nod in return. "Hello Sakura, I'm quite well. What can we do for you?"

A little put off by their greeting, the medic decided to back off a bit. "I was just heading home for the day to get freshened up. I am expecting to have some company later."

"Ahh, yes. I had heard he left on a vacation and was supposed to be returning today." The Kazekage said, careful not to actually say Naruto's name.

"It's alright... you can say Naruto's name." The Heiress said never truly losing her smile. "And yes, I agree. If he's supposed to be returning today, it won't be long before he comes to find you."

"And you're OK with that? I mean I know you said to take care of him, but..." Sakura started before Hinata raise her free hand to stop her.

"Sakura, it's been 2 months since I broke up with him... I've moved on..." She said while thinking to herself 'For the most part.' "Besides... you and I both know why he left, and it wasn't just to have one last vacation."

"...Yeah. He wanted to distance himself from me, to give you time to recover. Though he was honest when he told Kakashi Sensei he wanted to visit those who helped him get to where he is." The pinkette nodded.

"Yes, that sounds like Naruto..." Gaara nodded.

"So, if you don't mind me asking..." Sakura said carefully. "When did you two hook up? I mean, friends don't generally walk down the street hand-in-hand."

Hinata went silent while the Kazekage wrapped an arm around her waist to comfort her before she answered. "...He's been there since the day I broke up with Naruto. Even when he wasn't in the village we exchanged letters via messenger hawks, he comforted me, helped keep out me out of my depression..."

"Over the last two months, I started to feel happier talking to Hinata. Temari and Kankuro were the ones to explain that I was starting to feel..." Gaara picked up where she left off. "Even then I was hesitant to act though... Naruto is my savior and like a brother to me." He turned to Hinata and gave her an apologetic look. "I sent him a message to ask for his blessing to court you. I'm sorry I haven't told you til now, even if we've been seeing each other for a week now."

The Heiress shook her head and smiled. "It's fine... honestly, it doesn't surprise me that you'd do something that... what was his response."

Sakura reminded them that she was still there by laughing a bit. "I think I can imagine what our idiot said, 'If courting means you want to ask Hinata out, then go ahead. Though I will say this, if you hurt her or treat her anything less than the princess she deserves to be treated as, even the threat of war wouldn't protect you from me.'"

"That's...surprisingly accurate. Although he didn't use 'the threat of war' as you put it... It was more... the Afterlife would not protect me from him." Gaara said as a feeling of dread ran down his spine upon recalling those words. Hinata on the other hand was surprised. So much so that if Sakura and Gaara were looking, they'd have seen tears of happiness in her eyes.

'Naruto... you still care that much about me...?' She thought with a smile on her face.

"Sorry to cut this short, but I really gotta go." Sakura said realizing how long they have been standing there talking.

"Take care, Sakura... and please remember my request." The Heiress said surprisingly firmly.

"You got it. I'll take care of our knucklehead." The pinkette said as she ran off.

Gaara turned to look at his girlfriend. "I know it's a little late to ask, but are you sure you're alright with this?"

"Yes. They both have been waiting for this day." She said with a small smile as she gave him a kiss on the cheek. "You've helped me prepare for this... and I couldn't be happier. Thank you."

"You're very welcome..." He said with a smile as they walked towards their date location.

[Hokage Office]

"Welcome back, Naruto. Judging from the reports you've sent, you've had quite the eventful vacation." Kakashi said with his usual eye smile.

"Yeah, was really good to see everyone. It was a bit awkward visiting Shion though..." Naruto said rubbing the back of his head. "I had to apologize to her and tell her I wouldn't be able to fulfill her request. Thankfully she was understanding, knowing that I was a bit of an idiot back then and had actually fallen in love with someone else. She was even pregnant."

"That's good. That idiotic promise was the one thing I was worried about... Especially since I doubt you'd let her raise a child you helped make alone." The former Sharingan user said seriously.

"You're right, I would have likely found a way to remain in the village while visiting them as often as I could." The blonde nodded.

"Well then... Now that you're back, are you ready to get back to your training?" The 6th Hokage asked.

"...Yeah... Can we start tomorrow? I kinda have something I really need to take care of before I can focus." The Jinchūriki asked sheepishly.

Kakashi sighed while resisting the urge to palm his face. "This has to do with Sakura doesn't it..." He said flatly.

Naruto merely chuckled sheepishly while nodding.

"You're a real pain in the ass, you know that?" The silver-haired Kage groaned. "Fine, take today off and settle your business with Sakura, but I'd recommend you shower first."

"Thank you, Lord Hokage." The blonde said with a bow before using the Body Flicker Jutsu to get back to his apartment.

"It's finally time huh...?" A feminine voice said as she walked into the office.

"Yes. And about time too... From what you've told me, Sakura hasn't been able to focus at work unless it's a serious procedure." Kakashi said with amusement in his voice.

"It's true. She's been waiting for him to come back so they can finally confess each other, this time for real in her case." Shizune said with the same tone before getting serious. "Honestly, I'm glad she chose Naruto over Sasuke..."

"I know what you mean." He said with a nod. "As much I care about all my students, Sasuke is too much like me... Even if he did end up with Sakura, I don't see him sticking around long enough to have a child with her... or if he did, he wouldn't be around to help raise him or her. He is too full of regret and the need for redemption, not to mention having developed a case of wanderlust from all the years he traveled with Orochimaru. He can't seem to stay in one place for too long."

"So... are you going to be finished on time or will we be postponing our date again?" She asked in a tone that promised pain if he stayed late.

"I'll be finished enough work so we can go out tonight." The former Sensei of Team 7 said with his hands up in surrender.

"Good. See you tonight." Tsunade's first apprentice said with a nod.

[Later – Sakura's Apartment]

Naruto was standing in front of Sakura's place trying to steel his nerves. This was the moment that would either make him the happiest man alive, or the most broken, the moment he's waited for and dreaded his entire life. He was about to confess to the love of his life and ask her to be his girlfriend.

"...Just knock on the damn door and ask your mate to be yours already. Don't make me take control. It's time to nut up or shut up." Kurama said clearly annoyed.

'Alright already! Damn it. I wonder if this is how Dad felt before he asked Mom out.' The blonde responded.

He took a deep breath and knocked on the door. Within moments, his breathe was taken away by what the love of his life was wearing. Instead of her usual hot pink sleeveless vest, medical apron, and biker shorts, she was wearing an orange sundress with a blue denim jacket that was rib length. Of course, being a career Kunoichi she had her kunai pouch taped to her dominant thigh under the dress.

"Uh... Hi..." Was the intelligent greeting he came up with as he picked his jaw up off the floor.

'Looks like buying this outfit was a good idea. He's completely dumbfounded.' Sakura smirked. "Hello, Naruto. Care to come in?"

"Huh?" He said dumbly before shaking his head. "Yeah, sure. Nice outfit."

"Thanks. I picked it up a week ago." She said as she lead him inside, enjoying the effect her outfit was having on him. "Can I get you anything? Water? Soda?"

"Water's fine." He said still trying to get his brain to reboot from the obvious call back to his jumpsuit from their Genin days before he left with Jiraiya.

"If you don't claim her after this... I will take over and do it for you. This proves she loves you. No more hesitation!" Kurama said, clearly impressed.

'Wow... if she managed to impress you then I guess that's the golden seal of approval if I ever heard one. The only thing that would make it even more curtain would be if Mom gave her approval as well.' The blonde replied in shock.

[In Heaven that moment]

"Well, I'll be damned... that Cherry Blossom is pulling out all the stops. I'm very impressed." Kushina said watching the scene play out.

"Agreed... if he fucks this up, there is literally no hope for him." Minato said with a nod.

"My poor girl never stood a chance..." Hitomi sighed but had a smile on her face. "Mebuki's girl truly loves your boy. You must be proud."

"Yeah, he's living up to our expectations and then some." The redhead said with a proud smile.

"I swear if he does mess this up after loving this girl forever, I'm gonna make sure to give him the feather tickle treatment for the rest of his afterlife." Jiraiya said in a rare moment of actually checking up on Naruto and not peeping on the women in Heaven.

The other 3 nodded in agreement.

[Back with Naruto and Sakura]

Naruto felt a shiver go up to his spine. 'Why do I feel like I had better make this work or be in a world of hurt when I die?'

"Are you OK?" Sakura asked noticing his shiver and frightened look.

"Yeah, I'm fine." He said with a smile before looking serious. "Actually... I came over to have that talk we need to have."

"Then I'll start..." The pinkette said steeling herself. Once she was ready, she had a saddened look on her face. "Naruto... I'm sorry. I'm sorry for all times I degraded and abused you when we were kids. I'm sorry for all the times I hit you when you were just trying to cheer me up after I was rejected by Sasuke... and most of all...I'm sorry for that time in the Land of Iron... While I wasn't completely honest that day... I did still mean what I said..."

She took a moment to wipe a tear from her eye. "I started to develop feelings for you after you left with Master Jiraiya... and they only grew when you came back and we started spending more time together. You've saved me so many times. You've been the constant source of light, confidence, and inspiration in my life. I was a fool for not realizing it was you the entire time..."

She then turned and grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, tears now rolling down her cheeks. "Why didn't you tell me it was you that complimented my forehead, you idiot?! Do you know how much that meant to me?! That one moment was what kept my crush and faith that there was good in Sasuke! It's why I made you make that stupid promise! You could have been with me this entire time... Damn it Naruto..."

Naruto took this moment to defend himself. "Sakura, if I had told you back then, you would have no doubt denied it and punched me through a wall…or three. Even if I had told you when I got back and after we had met Sasuke again in Orochimaru's lair... You still wouldn't have believed me. So, I kept quiet... not knowing that it was that moment you were holding on to. Even if I knew... I probably wouldn't have said anything in order to allow you to keep a happy memory of him that wasn't darkened by his constant betrayals and all the times he tried to kill us both..."

"You selfless idiot..." She said with a tearful smile. "I love you... from the bottom of my heart... I love you so much that these last 2 months of waiting have felt like a lifetime..."

While Naruto could tell she was being honest, He was still cautious.

Sakura, who was still holding his collar, took notice of this and decided to take Kushina's advice and pulled him in for a very passionate kiss. She poured every ounce of emotion she felt into it—all her love, her happiness, her affection; she wanted to make it clear just how bad she had it for him.

The blonde was surprised at first but quickly got over it and returned the kiss just as fervently as she had—conveying all his pent-up love for her through the heated lip-lock.

Ten minutes had passed before they broke apart due to the essential need for air. Through half-lidded eyes, they gazed at each other while heavy pants escaped their mouth and dark blushes adorned their faces.

"Sakura…I love you too. I always have and always will. Also, there was no need to apologize, Sakura. I already forgave you." He pulled her in close as she let go of his collar and wrapped her arms around him—both of them looking deeply into the other's eyes. "I will admit that your actions in the Land of Iron hurt…but you should know by now that I've never been able to stay mad at you. I love you too much to do that. So just to be formal, will you be my girlfriend?"

"You idiot..." She giggled with tears of happiness. "Of course, I'll be your girlfriend..."

If it were any other time, Naruto would have been shouting at the top of his lungs in celebration, however, right now all that was on his mind was finally having the girl of his dreams in his arms, having finally kissed her when his life wasn't on the line, and her finally agreeing to go out with him. He held her closer and rested his on her shoulder as he started to cry tears of happiness.

"Hey, since you're already all dolled up, why don't we go out to eat somewhere... and no it won't be Ichiraku's, even if they'd probably give us our meal for free in celebration knowing Ayame and Old Man Teuchi..." He asked as he trailed off-topic.

"You're very close with the Ichiraku Family aren't you?" The pinkette asked softly.

"Yeah, they were the one place I could go get a meal without being either charged 3 times the displayed price or given spoiled food, or both. They are the closest thing I have to a family, even before Old Man 3rd came into my life..." The blonde said with a small smile.

"Alright, well this once I don't mind going there for a date, but the next one had better be somewhere special. Today we can celebrate with family." Sakura said with a smile before a thought popped into her head. "In fact, send a clone to go invite Lady Tsunade and Shizune, and Iruka too, I know you are close with him."

"Sakura...are you sure? You want our first date, our first dinner as a couple, to be with family? What about your mom? Or Ino? Isn't she like a sister to you?" Naruto asked in shock.

"...I'm a little upset with Ino at the moment... and my Mom and I had a falling out shortly after we came home from the battlefield." She said looking off to the side.

"Alright, well if you're sure then yeah I can ask them... I just hope they aren't busy." He said knowing better than to push for details for now. 'She'll tell me about what happened with her mom when she's ready.'

"Oh I'm sure they'll drop everything when they hear the news... everyone in the village is already talking about us being together anyhow thanks to Ino-pig." The pinkette grumbled as she untangled herself from her new boyfriend.

"Yeah, but that's Ino for you... She's always been a gossip queen." The blonde chuckles. "Tell ya what I'll send a clone to her so you can give her a piece of your mind."

"Oh, she'll be lucky to have so many medics nearby." Sakura said with a sinister grin.

Naruto chuckled nervously as he made the Shadow Clones necessary. 'I knew she can be scary... but damn...' "Alright guys, you know what to do! But don't be forceful, if they are busy or have other plans leave without causing a scene."

"Now then, while we wait for responses, what should we do?" He asked as he sat next to his girlfriend.

"I'm sure we can think of something..." The pinkette said in a sultry tone as she climbed into his lap and started to kiss him, an action the blonde gladly reciprocated.

[With the Clones]

The first stop was the Hokage Tower to talk to Kakashi since Naruto knew that their old sensei was invested in the growth of their relationship over the years, however, he was surprised to find another of his targets, Shizune, there all dolled up.

"Oh, Naruto! What is it that we can do for you?" Kakashi said hiding his annoyance. 'I really hope this doesn't take long, Shizune and I are supposed to go on a date tonight.'

"I thought you'd be asking Sakura out and spending the night with her?" Shizune not bothering to hide her annoyance.

"Oh, I am. I'm a clone. Boss and Sakura are officially going out and wanted to go out to have a celebratory dinner at Ichiraku with those they consider family. So... that includes you two, Ayame and Teuchi, Granny Tsunade, and Ino. We'd ask Sasuke but judging from the messages you sent back during boss's vacation, he's off on another mission." Naruto said with a big smile.

"Oh well, congratulations!" The black-haired medic's mood brightened. "While we did have plans, I wouldn't want to miss this."

The former Sharingan wielder nodded, "I agree. I did give you the day off for this moment. So I'm glad it paid off. Yes, we'll meet you there. I assume you haven't left yet?"

"Right, Boss is waiting till he gets an idea of whose coming and whose not. The other clones should be arriving at their targets by now too. So... maybe wait 10 minutes before heading out?" The clone theorized.

"Got it. See you there." The Kage said with a nod as the clone dispelled.

[The Hospital]

"Man... I really need to hit the hot springs... I am so sore." Ino groaned as she stretched.

"You're too young to be complaining like that. I feel great." Tsunade said before she noticed a familiar head of blonde spiky hair. "Naruto, what are you doing here?"

"Huh?" The platinum blonde asked as she noticed Naruto in the lobby. "What, did you screw up and cause Forehead to change her mind?"

"Very funny Ino..." The clone glared. "As a matter of fact she said yes, Boss is still with her. I'm just here to extend an invitation to their celebratory dinner at Ichiraku's. Everyone who is considered family is being invited."

"Well, you can count me in." The oldest blonde said with a smile.

"Yeah, sure, I'll come. Do we have time to shower or is this happening soon?" The Yamanaka Clan head inquired.

"Well if you head out in 10 minutes and meet at the ramen stand...I think you have enough time for a quick shower." The clone said.

"Ugh... 10 minutes? Fine... I'll shower here... See you there Naruto." Ino groaned before smiling while thinking to herself. 'You're really lucky Forehead... You've got yourself quite the catch... if I wasn't interested in Sai, especially after the Pein Attack, I would have been all over him.'

"Cool. See you later!" Naruto's clone said he dispelled.

Tsunade however noticed the look on Ino's face. "You were once interested in the Knucklehead, weren't you?"

"Perhaps... Once I did think I could almost fall for him after Pein cratered the village." The Platinum Blonde replied with a shrug. "But I also liked Sai and still wasn't over Sasuke just. In the end, I chose to be with Sai."

"As long as you don't try to get in between them. They are like the children I never had, and I won't let anyone get in the way of their happiness." The former Hokage said cracking her knuckles.

"Don't worry, Sakura's like a sister to me. I wouldn't do that to her." Ino said sincerely getting a nod of approval from her boss and teacher.

[With Iruka]

Iruka was finishing grading some papers from the academy when he heard a knock at the door. "Who could that be at this hour?"

When he opened the door to see Naruto standing there, he was concerned that something was wrong. "Naruto, what's up?"

"Iruka Sensei, wanna come to a celebratory dinner at Ichiraku's with the Boss and his new girlfriend?" The Clone asked.

"Oh, you're a clone..." The Scarred Chunin sighed in relief before catching what was said. "Wait, new girlfriend? Celebratory Dinner? What's going on?"

"Sakura finally said yes to going out with the Boss!" The Blonde said excitedly. "They wanna celebrate by having their first outing as a couple with everyone they consider family. That includes you Iruka Sensei."

"I'd be honored. I'll head right over, I was about to make something to eat anyhow." Iruka said with a tearful smile earning a nod as the clone dispels. "That he's come a long way since the bratty kid from the academy… To think he's about to fulfill his lifelong dream and has just landed his lifelong love. I'm very proud of him."

[Back with Sakura and Naruto]

10 minutes have passed since he sent his clones out, Naruto got the information back from his clones. When he did, he broke away from his love and their kiss. "Looks like everyone will be there... Even Kakashi Sensei will be joining us."

"Huh, I take it Shizune was with him?" Sakura asked.

"Yeah, they looked like they were about to head out but something told me that Sensei messed up somehow." The blonde chuckled.

Sakura giggled as she got off his lap. "Well, I guess we should get going. We don't want to be late for something we organized."

"Yeah." He chuckled as he straightened out his clothes while she did the same before he paused. "Um, we should get there before everyone else. I forgot to send a clone to Ayame."

"...You idiot..." She sighed. "Come on, knucklehead, let's not surprise your sister."

The blonde merely chuckled and nodded before wrapping his arm around her waist and using the Body Flicker Jutsu to get them to their destination.

[Ichiraku Ramen]

Ayame was just finishing cleaning up the newly expanded shop when she heard someone arrive. As she turned around to see who it was, she couldn't stop herself. She squealed and tackled them into a hug that might have broken bones if they were civilians, especially after seeing the position they were in.

"NARUTO! SAKURA!" She shouted as she held them in a hug. "Did it finally happen?!"

"Just tonight. We decided to celebrate with everyone we consider family… well except for Gaara, Hinata, and Sasuke…" Sakura said slightly frowning mentioning Hinata. "Hinata is still recovering, and Gaara is dating her so it wouldn't work well… and Sasuke is out of the village on a mission."

"And you wanted to celebrate here?! Oh you guys! That's very sweet…" Ayame gushed. "DAD GET OUT HERE! WE'RE ABOUT TO HAVE A PRIVATE FUNCTION!"

"What's going on-" Teuchi started before he saw Ayame bear hugging Naruto and Sakura, while his favorite customer had an arm around the pinkette's waist. "Well, it's about damn time. So, when is everyone else going to be here if we're supposedly having a private function?"

"Right here, and seems we've all arrived at the same time." Tsunade said walking in with everyone.

"Seems so, and everyone I was expecting is here…" Kakashi said looking at who arrived. 'Seems they were considerate of Hinata at the very least. Though I'm surprised that Anko wasn't invited, given what Sakura told me over the last 2 months.'

"Let me close up shop so that we can get this party started." The old ramen chef said with a chuckle.

As everyone entered the shop, Teuchi closed the shutters and everyone takes their seats with Naruto and Sakura in the center of the shop. He and his daughter got started on taking everyone's orders while everyone started giving their congratulations.

"I will say this, even if we heard Mr. Ichiraku say as we arrived. It's about time!" Ino said with a smirk. "You two have been growing close ever since you have been placed on team 7, as slow as it might have been."

She stopped to look at her fellow blonde. "It wasn't until you saved her from Gaara that I noticed her starting to worry about you more…"

Kakashi decided to step in there. "Even as painful as it was for you back then, that 'promise of a lifetime' and the failed retrieval mission that was the real trigger that Sakura's feelings started growing."

"There was a few times a month while she was training that she'd ask me if there was any news about you from Jiraiya. It was kind of sweet that she passed it off as being worried about her teammate but I could see the faint blush every time she talked about you." Tsunade said with a teasing smirk.

"Hey! So I was worried about him… I suppose I wasn't the only one that could be considered dense. When he came back I asked him if I appeared more womanly… and his response was that I looked the same as he remembered… I didn't realize that he meant that I was just a beautiful as ever in his eyes. Not to mention it wasn't until recently that I realized that it was him that transformed into Sasuke that complimented what I consider to be my worse feature." Sakura said in her defense.

Naruto pulled her towards him and kissed her forehead. "I was serious ya know… It's large and charming, I can find new places to kiss."

"You two truly were meant for each other." Shizune said with a wistful smile on her face.

"Agreed. I see Minato Sensei and Lady Kushina when I look at you two. Both the good and the bad if I'm to be honest…" Kakashi said with a nod before turning to Naruto. "Although, you take after your mom more than you do your father."

He then turned to Sakura. "And you, Sakura have Lady Kushina's temper and ability to reign in your other half."

"Oh, I know…" The pinkette said with a shiver before turning to her boyfriend. "The day I was going to talk to Hinata about my feelings for Naruto, she appeared to me in a dream and gave me the final push that I needed… along with a warning that if I put you through an abusive relationship that she'd make my afterlife make hell seem like a kiddie pool."

The adults who knew the Red Hot Habanero all laughed, voicing that definitely sounded like her. Even Naruto chuckled a bit, even if he was surprised that his mother was able to approach his one true love, even if it was in a dream.

"Wait… How did someone who is dead even be able to approach you, even in a dream?" Ino asked finding the story a little hard to believe.

"Apparently Lady Kushina convinced Kami to let her as a reward to Naruto for bringing peace to the world since he is the 'Child of Prophecy' therefore her champion as it were." Sakura said with a shrug leaving the two younger blondes dumbfounded that the former Uzumaki Matriarch had the stones convince a Goddess to do that.

'Mom, you really are crazy… I guess I know where I get it from.' The future Hokage thought to himself.

It was then that Teuchi and Ayame brought out the massive amounts of ramen for everyone, so Tsunade, being the mother figure for both of them, decided to stand up and get everyone's attention to make a final statement before they dug into their meal. "I think I can speak for everyone when I say, congratulations on FINALLY getting together. I personally hope that you two take your time, go at a decent pace and don't just jump in headfirst and attempt to have children right away."

The new couple just blushed up a storm and nodded knowing they still had to be considerate of poor Hinata. They knew that 2 months was nowhere near enough to completely heal... Even if she had started dating Gaara, a lifelong crush and love would take a lot longer. While that wouldn't stop them from going on dates and being affectionate with each other, they would be careful as to where and what they do.

With that everyone continued their celebration filled with lots of Ramen and sake. A drunk Ino had even admitted at one point she had considered going after Naruto at one point only to get the promised beating and then some, leaving the platinum blonde an inch from death, even if everyone did try to hold an enraged Sakura back unsuccessfully.

[Hokage Tower]

A year had come and gone, both Naruto's and Sakura's relationship had progressed greatly, as had Hinata's and Gaara's. In that time Naruto had accomplished another of his dreams and he become Hokage, Sakura had also taken over as head of the hospital.

Despite that, they always made time for each other every day no matter how tired and exhausted they were, especially since they started living with each other 3 months ago. The two had never stopped being friends with Hinata either, even if they did hold off on their affection around her.

As for Hinata and Gaara, well, they were both standing in front of their Blonde friend as well as Hiashi with determined looks on their face. While Hiashi was standing there with his usual stoic look on his face did not relay the emotion as his tensed and tightened muscles did. The 7th Hokage, however, didn't let any emotion show.

"Lord Kazekage, Lady Hyuuga." Naruto said professionally. "Why is it that you have come with Lord Hyuuga today?"

It was Hinata that stepped up, making the blonde's eyebrow raised slightly. "Lord Naruto… I wish to transfer to Suna in order to both serve Lord Gaara as his secretary and plainly speaking, further progress our relationship."

"And I take it the reason your father is here is that he opposes this idea." He stated rather than questioned getting a stiff nod in response from the older man in the room.

"It is not that I am opposed to my daughter progressing her relationship. The Kazekage has proven to be an honorable man. It's her moving to Suna and as the current head of the Hyuuga Clan, it's letting the Byakugan out of the village." Hiashi said tensely, hating himself for having to look out for the clan over his daughter's happiness once more.

"If I may Lord Hiashi. You have recently outlawed the use of the Caged Bird Seal in honor of Neji." Gaara said earning an inquisitional look from The Clan Head. "To further increase the relations of our two villages, I'll make a law forbidding the abuse and extraction of the Byakugan from anyone and work together with seal master from around the nations to find a seal to protect your Kekkei Genkai from being stolen even in life. In fact, if I remember the Hidden Mist Village had a head start on that, even if the eye patches are not preferable."

Hiashi took a moment to contemplate this, having a seal that prevents the Byakugan from being extracted even while being alive would be just what was needed for the clan. However, the problem being the time it would take to research this. On the other hand, with how conservative his daughter and Gaara are, there is little chance they would attempt to have children any time soon and would probably wait till marriage.

"Very well. However, I must implement a restriction." Hiashi said sternly. "This seal must be found before you and Hinata marry and have children."

"F-F-FATHER!?" The poor Heiress' face lit up like a Christmas Tree, even Gaara's stoic face had a hint of pink.

"While it is too soon to be talking about children, I shall agree to this condition… that is if my beloved does as well…" The Kazekage said after clearing his throat only to get a nod from his girlfriend who looked like she was on the verge of fainting.

"I will be sure to use my clones to work on the seal as well. As an Uzumaki, I should be able to come up with something relatively quickly." The 7th Hokage said before looking at Hiashi. "Especially if I can see the notes and formula of the Cage Bird Seal. I could use that as a base."

"Very well." The Hyuuga Clan Head nodded before he turned to his daughter with a rare smile. "I will appoint Hanabi as Clan Heir. I wish you luck and happiness in the Hidden Sand. However…" He turned to Gaara with his Byakugan activated "If you hurt her, you had better hope your Ultimate Defense sees me coming, or less I will remove your ability to have children."

However, Gaara looked back at Hiashi with a hardened look on his face. "If I ever hurt her, I'd drench myself in water and allow you to do so."

Hinata smiled and wrapped herself around her boyfriend while her father gave a firm nod in return, though you could see a ghost of a smirk on his face. Even Naruto was smiling before he got into Hokage mode.

"Chunin Hyuuga, I will have your transfer papers ready by tomorrow. At that time I will require your headband." He said firmly.

"Yes, Lord Hokage." The Chunin snapping to attention.

"Dismissed." The 7th Hokage said going back to his paperwork.

"Thank you Naruto… you've been a good friend to both of us. I wish you luck in the future." Hinata said with a soft smile subtly activating her Byakugan and seeing a small square box in his robes. "Say Hi to Sakura."

The blonde chuckled sheepishly as pulls out the velvet box and opened it up. Inside was a ring embedded with a flawlessly cut emerald with two small sapphires on either side. "I just hope she likes it."

4 months ago the former heiress would have been heartbroken to see a ring meant for someone else, but now, she was completely over him and happily in love with Gaara. In fact, she found it rather sweet that he went with a jewel that was obviously picked out due to the pinkette's eyes.

"She'll love it." She said softly. "When do you plan on popping the question?"

"In a couple of days… Need to ask Kakashi or Granny Tsunade to stand in for me for what I have planned." Kurama's host said with a wistful smile.

"Sounds big… If there is anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate my friend." Gaara offered with a rare smile.

"Thank you, but I have everything planned. I called in a favor from King Michiru and Prince Hikaru of the Land of the Moon." Naruto said shocking everyone in the room.

'For him to call in a favor from rulers of a Kingdom, what kind of plan does he have for proposing to his girlfriend?!' A thought shared by everyone in the room, even the hidden ANBU. They knew had massive connections that were made over the course of his career, but this was insane.

"Well, we should get back to the compound. I have a lot of packing to do." The female Hyuuga said dumbfounded.

Even if she was over him, she couldn't stop herself from thinking if he would have gone to such lengths to propose to her. Something Gaara seemed to pick up on and knew he'd have to find a way to match or outdo whatever his brother in all but blood was planning. Even Hiashi was impressed by the lengths this young man was going to for his woman.

Naruto just nodded and focused on his paperwork as they left the room, only for Shikamaru, his advisor, to walk into the room.

"You're a damn troublesome asshole, you know that?" The Nara said in a flat, deadpan tone. "Once the other girls learn even a fraction of what you have planned, they're going to demand the same thing… and none of us have the friends in high places to pull it off."

"And you guys do realize that I'm willing to help if I can in any way, right?" The blonde countered.

"Even so… We've counted on you for too much already. You've helped us multiple times… If we can't even make the night of our engagement one to remember on our own, then we truly are hopeless." The lazy Jonin sighed.

"Are you done?" The 7th Hokage asked with a smirk. "My offer stands Shika, and you can let everyone else from our class know."

"Troublesome blondes." Shikamaru grumbled.

[The Next Day – South Gates]

Naruto, Sakura, Kurenai, Temari, and what remained of the Rookie 11 were all gathered to send Hinata and Gaara off, her personal handmaid, Natsu, was going with her at Hiashi's insistence.

"Hinata, I'm sad to see that you're leaving. However, that's overshadowed by overwhelming pride and joy I feel that you've found love from someone who will treat you right." Kurenai said casting a subtle glare at Naruto before having a bright smile on her smile. "You are like a daughter to me. If you need anything, I'm just a hawk away."

Hinata nodded holding back tears as she pulled the older woman into a hug while muttering a thank you. The rest of Team Kurenai joined in on the hug. Everyone else nodded at what Kurenai said, showing that they too were there if she needed anything.

"Gaara, thank you for being there for Hinata after our breakup." Naruto said with a smile before his eyes flashed red with Kurama's chakra. "Just remember what I said in our messages."

"You have nothing to worry about my friend. As I said in your office, should I hurt her, I will accept whatever punishment you and everyone else deems necessary." Gaara said, his eyes changing with Shukaku's chakra, showing how serious he was.

"You take care of my brother, you hear me? I will be back in Suna in a few months to check on you guys." Temari said firmly before her tone turned into a teasing one. "And be careful. It's going a big change. You won't be able to wear any big baggy clothes to hide that bombshell figure you've hidden from everyone outside of the bathhouse."

"Temari…" The Navy-blue-haired girl groaned with a blush on both hers and her boyfriend's faces. The males other than Naruto all had blushes imagining what Temari was talking about, even if she was dressed less modestly since the war.

"I think that's our cue to leave." Natsu said coming to her lady's aid earning a thankful nod from both of them.

Everyone said their farewells as Gaara, Hinata, and their escorts all waved as they departed for Suna, but not before Akamaru tackled the former heiress and licked her face as his way of saying goodbye, causing Hinata to laugh and give the Ninja Hound a few scratches behind his ears.

Once they disappeared over the horizon, the large dog whimpered and lowered his head in sadness. Kiba stepped up next to his partner with a frown on his face. "I know boy, I'll miss her too, but she'll be back to visit."

"Alright, everyone! Let's not stand here all day staring at the horizon. Some of us have to get back to work." Naruto said loudly before summoning an ANBU. "Summon Kakashi and Granny Tsunade to my office. I have something I need to discuss with them."

"Yes, Lord Hokage!" The ANBU said before vanishing with the Body Flicker Jutsu.

"Sakura, I'll see you tonight. Alright?" The blonde asked with a smile getting a cheerful nod in response.

"Sure thing. I'll meet you at Ichiraku's tonight after work." She said with a bright smile while wondering why he wanted to talk to their predecessors, but for some reason she was starting to feel nervously giddy.

Everyone went their separate ways while Shikamaru followed Naruto to the Hokage Tower. He made sure Sakura wasn't within hearing range before looking at his friend. "Troublesome blonde… it's time, isn't it?"

"Yeah, I received confirmation on my request earlier this morning. They'll be in Degarashi Port in 4 days' time." The 7th Hokage said discreetly.

[Hokage Tower – 15 minutes later]

Tsunade and Kakashi arrived quickly, which surprised Naruto to see his former sensei there so quickly.

Seeing his student's surprise, the former Sharingan user eye smiled. "I figured this was important, so I came as soon as I could. And seeing as how Lady Tsunade is also here, I can guess what this about."

"...You want to ask us for a favor, don't you?" The older blonde deadpanned getting a nod from the young Hokage.

"Yes, I would like to ask both of you to take up your former posts for a month starting tomorrow." Naruto said with a serious look. "As Shikamaru knows, I plan to ask Sakura to marry me and I need someone to stand in for both of us while we are away."

"Where are you going to pop the question?" The Slug Sannin asked curiously.

"I have enlisted the help of The Land of the Moon. We will spend some time there to enjoy the circus, then enjoy a candlelit dinner on the beach with fireworks in the background. That's when I will propose to her with this ring." He said setting the velvet box on his desk with the top open showing the ring.

"Well, I'll be damned… Who knew the dense idiot could plan something this romantic?" Kakashi said unable to resist teasing the younger blonde.

"I'll say." The older blonde said clearly impressed while eyeing the ring. "Seriously Naruto… if she doesn't say yes, she's a fool, especially with that ring… you based it off your eye colors didn't you? That must have cost you a pretty penny."

"It did. However, she's worth it. If I could I'd give her the moon… without the ancient alien race that is either sealed in it or living on it…" Naruto nodded.

Both former Hokage sweatdrop at the additional comment, but found it increasingly romantic how far he was willing to go for the woman he loved. However, Tsunade spoke up after she shared a silent conversation before nodding. "Very well Naruto. We'll take up our old positions for the month. However, I hope that it will be a while before you ask this of us again…"

"And she does mean your honeymoon… which by the way better not be for a while…" Kakashi said seriously causing his former student to chuckle.

"Thank you, both of you. Assuming all goes according to plan, I'm sure it will at least a few months before we even start planning our wedding." The Jinchūriki said with a wistful smile. "Anyway, I gotta finish up here so I can meet her tonight and inform her of the plan."

"Still as unpredictable as ever… You do realize you'll be lucky not to get to the Land of the Moon before your planned vacation, right?" The older blonde sighed.

"You're probably right, but if I'm lucky she'll be in a good mood." Naruto said as he got back to his work.

Taking that as their cue to leave, they went their separate ways. Silently wishing Naruto good luck, even if they knew the outcome. There would be wedding bells in the near future.

[Ichiraku Ramen]

"Hey Sakura, sorry for being late." Naruto said walking into the shop with a tired sigh. "The old fossils tried to tell me that this peace is nothing but a farce. Something about Iwa secretly planning and training to invade."

"Kurotsuchi is rumored to be the next Tsuchikage… and I don't trust her either." Sakura said with a frown remembering her willingness to sacrifice him and Killer Bee in order to prevent Obito and Madara from realizing their goals.

Naruto shrugged. "Iwa knows they can't afford to break apart the alliance. Not with Suna and Kumo being close with us and I don't need to tell you about Kiri."

A large tick mark appeared on the pinkette's large forehead at the mention of Kiri, more importantly, Mei Temuri. "That old hag needs to remember that you're taken. I swear if she starts flirting with you the next time she's in town, she's getting a free trip back to Kiri courtesy of my Sakura Airlines!" Saying that as she cracked her knuckles.

The blonde chuckled. "Well, as entertaining that would be to see, we don't want that to be the thing that breaks the alliance up."

Seeing her grumble, he decided it was time to let her know of the plan for their "vacation." "Hey, why don't we take a month off and get away from politics and the smell of the hospital?"

"Is that what you talked to Lady Tsunade and Kakashi Sensei about? Covering for us?" Sakura asked in a knowing tone.

"Yeah, I think it'd do us good." Naruto said with his foxy smile. 'And fix your problem with Mei.'

"He has something more planned. He wouldn't be suggesting this or have asked that pervert and Lady Tsunade to cover for us…" Inner Sakura mused.

'I know… but let's get our hopes up. It could be as he said and just be a vacation.' Outer thought anxiously.

"Yeah, and I'm actually the one in control…" Inner said sarcastically.

"Alright. When do you wanna go?" Sakura said ignoring that comment her inner persona made.

"The day after tomorrow. They will be taking over for us tomorrow to allow us to pack and whatnot." The blonde said cheerfully.

"And where are we going?" She asked curiously.

"Well, we'll be going to Degarashi Port where we'll be waiting for our ride, other than that it's going to be a surprise." Her boyfriend grinned.

"At least tell me what kind of clothes I should pack…" Sakura sighed.

"Well, pack a nice dress, your summer clothes, and maybe something for the beach.." Naruto said thoughtfully going through his plan in his head.

'H-he is planning something big…' She thought nervously as she nodded her head.

"Told you so." Inner Sakura deadpanned.

"Hope you two enjoy your vacation." Ayame said with a smile. 'And that you come back with good news little brother.'

"Thanks, Ayame." The blonde said as he paid for their meal. "We should be getting home to pack. See you in a month."

"Thank you for the meal." Sakura said getting up and giving her boyfriend's sister figure a wave of farewell as they both left to start packing.

[4 Days Later]

The couple arrived at Degarashi Port without much issue, some pitiful bandit tried to rob them, not realizing who they were messing with only to end up getting killed since neither were in the mood to drag them to the nearest jail. Waiting for them was Jirōchō Wasabi and Idate.

"Ahh, Naruto, Sakura, welcome back to our fair port city. Your vessel arrived at first light." The Older Man said with a kind smile.

"Wow, I wasn't expecting them to arrive so promptly." Naruto said in shock. "Any important guests we should be aware of?"

"Yes, the ship seemed to have an old Sabercat and with a monkey on its back." Jirōchō said, clearly confused as to why a ship would have a Sabercat on board, much less one with a monkey.

"Chamū and Kiki?" Sakura asked with a raised eyebrow, only knowing one Sabercat that was often accompanied by a monkey. She turned to her boyfriend and saw the grin on his face. "Naruto, what's going on?"

"Told you dear, it's a surprise." The blonde said earning a sigh in return. "Come on, let's down to the docks."

"So, how have you two been?" Idate Morino asked as they started making their way to the docks. "It's been years since we saw you last."

"Too much has happened to even summarize Idate…" The pinkette said with a smile as she took Naruto's hand. "But with those events, I figured out where my heart truly lied."

"How did this," The brunette said gesturing to the couple's interlocked hands. "Happen? I remember Sakura being head over heels for Sasuke. So how did you two end up together?"

"Like she said… A lot's happened." Naruto said. "I guess the most important part is that recently we saved the world again. Afterward, I started dating a very sweet and lovely girl, she just wasn't the one. I couldn't let go of my feelings for Sakura."

"At the same time, I was fighting with my feelings for both Naruto and Sasuke." She said with a frown, earning a comforting squeeze of her hand from her boyfriend. "After a little help from Sasuke, I realized that it's been Naruto all along that I've had feelings for.

When we just assigned to Team 7, this idiot transformed into our teammate to see how I felt about him at the time, and well, it wasn't favorable at the time, but that didn't seem to deter him, since he complimented my forehead and said it was very kissable. So, a year ago I asked Sasuke about it, and as I said, he helped me realize that it was Naruto that said those words… Words that kept me from moving on from him."

Idate and Jirocho laughed. "So you mean to tell me that if you had known who it really was all this time, that you two would have been together much sooner?"

After getting a sheepish nod from both of them, Idate laughed harder. "Wow, I knew you were an idiot Naruto, but for you to mess up that bad…"

"Oh shut up!" Naruto shouted before taking a deep breath to calm down. "Sakura and I both know that even if I had said something, that it wouldn't have changed anything."

"Well, all that matters is that you two found your way into each other's arms." The Head of the Wasabi Clan said deciding to spare the lovebirds.

"What happened with that asshole anyhow?" The Brunette asked.

"We don't know honestly… He's hardly in the village anymore. Kakashi Sensei told us that training and traveling with Orochimaru helped Sasuke gain a case of wanderlust. He can't stay in one place for long, so he constantly takes missions that often take him quite a while to complete." Naruto said with a shrug.

Deciding to leave it at that they walked in silence until they arrived at the docks and stood in front of a ship that Sakura instantly recognized. "We're going to the Land of the Moon for our vacation?! How did you pull this off Naruto?"

"Surprise!" That was all Naruto said with a big grin making her sigh. "To answer your question, it wasn't hard to call in a favor from a friend."

As they got on board, the captain greeted them. "Greetings Lord Hokage, Lady Haruno. The King and Prince extend their apologies for not being able to greet and escort you. They will however be at the port when we dock.

We have prepared our best room and every leisure for your voyage. If you need anything, you need only ask. You are our VIPs."

"Thank you, Captain, and I understand. They have their Kingdom to run and can't take a week out of their time to greet us." The blonde said with a nod with Sakura also nodding in agreement.

"Let us be off then. It will take us a few days providing we don't have any bad weather." The older man said.

[Land of the Moon]

The journey across the sea was uneventful. The couple enjoyed the fine dining and hand-on-foot service. Sakura got a head start on trying to get a tan while Naruto was enjoying not being surrounded by paperwork and got some training in so as not to get rusty in case of an enemy attack, as unlikely as it was. But like always they made time to make sure they loved each other through cuddling and making out.

When they arrived, King Michiru and Prince Hikaru were there waiting for them. "Naruto! Sakura! It's so good to see you again!" The prince said excitedly.

"It's good to see you again, Hikaru. You as well, King Michiru." Naruto said with a big smile only to get an elbow to the ribs from his girlfriend.

"It's fine Sakura." Michiru said with a dismissive wave of his hand. "It's good to see you both."

He turned to the blonde. "Everything is prepared as you requested. Please enjoy yourselves."

"Yeah, I know you wanted a hotel room for the two of you but we insist that stay in the castle with us." Hikaru said in a tone that didn't leave any room for argument. "We did, however, take into account you two being a couple and therefore may end up needing….privacy, so we made sure your assigned room was on the other side of the castle."

The couple blushed up a storm, knowing neither of them had been ready to take that step, both of them wanting to save themselves for marriage even if they couldn't imagine themselves being with anyone else. They muttered their thanks causing both of the rulers to laugh at their embarrassment.

"Hey, can I ask you why Chamū and Kiki were on the boat with us?" Sakura asked curiously.

"That would be because we still own that circus and have requested them to come back to the island for your visit." The prince said with a grin.

'This must be part of Naruto's plan, they did say everything was ready.' She thought with a small smile as she noticed her boyfriend's fox-like grin.

"Come on, let's go. We've got a feast ready for our dear friends." The King said with a big grin.

"Thank you very much, your Majesty." Both bowed with gratitude.

At the castle, the maids, butlers, and servants all bowed in respect as they were let to the dining room. Once there, the circus leader was there along with the King's wife, much to their surprise. They knew they had a big fight during their mission so didn't expect them to make up at all.

"Oh, you are two of those Shinobi that was with my husband and son all those years ago. The ones that helped change my Husband. I must thank you." The now Queen of the Land of the Moon said with a smile.

"That's right. It's good to see you again, milady." Sakura said politely.

"How did this happen if I may ask?" Naruto asked before being hit on the head by his girlfriend. "Hey, I was being polite!"

"It's fine." Ayamo said with a smile. "After you helped my husband regain control of our country, he started to lose all the weight he put on, then came back to the cottage a changed man. He had learned the lesson that forced us apart in the beginning. Since then we've been a happy family and made this country even better since the circus comes by every 6 months to perform."

"That's wonderful. I'm glad you were able to make up. Having someone special in your life makes all the difference. This big lug has always been there for me, but it took me a while to see it, but I couldn't imagine my life without him." The Pinkette said with a blush.

"That's wonderful you two, I knew you two would be a wonderful couple." The King said with a big smile. "Tell me, how is that other teammate of yours, the one in with the big eyebrows and green spandex?"

"Oh? Rock Lee? He's doing just fine, last I heard he was dating his teammate, a girl who specializes in weapons. He's our top-tier taijutsu specialists in the village now that his sensei was crippled in the war." Naruto said with pride only to frown at the end remembering how close Might Guy had come to death and was now stuck to a wheelchair.

"I see, I'm sorry to hear about his sensei, but I'm glad he was doing well for himself." Michiru said with a smile.

"We'll be sure to give him your regards when we return home." Naruto said politely.

With that enjoyed a quiet feast while they catch up with what has happened in the world that wasn't public knowledge as long as it wasn't confidential. After all, even if they were allies, there were things that neither country wanted to get out. Afterward, a servant escorted Naruto and Sakura to their room for the evening.

[1 week later]

While they were enjoying their time at the casinos and relaxing on the beach, Naruto was waiting for the circus to finish their preparations for the extra special show that was part of his plan to propose to Sakura.

The pinkette herself was wondering what her boyfriend was planning. She knew they were scheduled to return to Degarashi Port and then the village, and so far her idiot had done everything to make sure she was comfortable and entertained to keep her from being bored while keeping her guessing. She knew he had Shadow Clones working with the circus but that's all she knew.

'Well, he always was unpredictable. Not even I can figure him out when he wants to be secretive. Well, I'm sure he didn't bring me all this way just for a vacation. I've caught glimpses of the dreamy look from the Queen, so there must be something big being planned.' Sakura thought to herself with a smile.

It was that night that the entire kingdom was in the Big Top with the world's strongest couple sitting in the VIP area with the royal family as guests of honor. Naruto was looking around expectantly with critical eyes as if he was making sure everything was just right and the Ringleader put a mask of confidence for the crowd, however, he was extremely nervous. He knew how strong the kid was when he and that pinkette freed this kingdom, he could only imagine how strong the blonde was now that he was the leader of the Hidden Leaf. He certainly didn't want to disappoint the young Hokage since he knows what is at stake.

'If he doesn't kill me, the girl will if she finds out that messed up part her boyfriend's big plans…' The Ringleader thought before he cleared his throat. "Ladies and Gentlemen! We bring you a very special show in honor of this Kingdom's saviors! The Hokage of Konoha and Lady Tsunade's Successor in the medical arts! Please sit back and enjoy!"

The show was spectacular, the power couple were very impressed, especially with the Net of Fire and the firework finale. Chamū and Kiki especially worked even harder to impress their friends as if their instincts were telling them this was an important night. This proved true as the show was coming to an end, and Naruto stood up and made his way into the middle of the ring, with Sakura catching his smirk that he usually wore when he was about to prank someone.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! I thank you all for coming tonight! I would especially like to thank the Kingdom of the Moon and the Moonlit Tumblers for welcoming Sakura, as well as the amazing performance. Now, if I can ask everyone to follow me outside, I have something special that will truly complete tonight." He said with a big smile causing Sakura to give him a narrowed look wondering what he was planning.

Despite wondering what the young Hokage had planned everyone made their way outside only to be greeted by something out of a fairy tale. Lines of Red, Pink, and Green lights were draped between posts, Orange streamers were wrapped around said posts, floating lanterns drifting around the area, and in the center of it all was an altar with a glass case that contained a small velvet box. To top it all off, firework launchers could be seen a safe distance away with Naruto's Clone on standby.

Naruto made his way over to the glass case removed the small box and turned to address the crowd, happy to see Sakura was front and center of the crowd in a state of awe. "Sakura, can you join me here?" He asked holding out his free hand.

Poor Sakura's heart was beating a mile a minute as she shakily made her way to her boyfriend's side. 'This is it isn't it? Oh, I don't know if I'm ready!'

"Pull yourself together! This is our best friend and the love of our life! The one person who has been the constant source of support for us since the academy. Don't make me take over!" her inner-self said, annoyance clearly heard.

"Sakura…" He said as he got down on one knee, opening the box revealing the ring earning a gasp from the girl of his dreams. "You have been the light of my life, the only real reason I never went off the deep end. I have loved you, and only you, longer than I've actually started liking girls. You mean absolutely everything to me. Will do you me the honor of becoming my wife?"

Sakura was speechless, for him to plan all of this out, get Tsunade and Kakashi to cover for them during this vacation, and get their ally to agree to help him out like this… she was beyond touched. Tears were streaming down her face as she shakily reached out for the gorgeous ring that clearly represented their eyes. "Of course, I'll marry you, big idiot…"

As if on cue, the Clones activated the Firework Launchers, with each firework taking shape of toads, slugs, and even the newly engaged couples faces as Naruto slipped the ring onto her finger and held her close as they watched the firework show, while he was resisting shouting out in excitement but didn't want to ruin the moment by acting like an idiot in front of everyone.

Naturally, the entire audience was clapping and cheering in celebration for the strongest couple in all the Elemental Nations. The Circus Ringleader sighed in relief that everything went according to plan, as did the King, Queen, and Prince. While there wasn't any doubt that she'd accept the proposal, they were worried since it was the plan of someone as unpredictable as Naruto.

"Thank you Sakura, you have no idea how happy I am right now…" Naruto whispered as he held her close.

"Trust me… I feel the same way… you really blew my mind with how thought out this way." She said with a soft smile as she snuggled into him.

Later in their room in the palace, they made love for the first time, and Sakura quickly learned that Naruto's insane stamina translated from the battlefield to the bedroom. She even wondered if she could satisfy him on her own, but she also knew that she sure as hell wasn't even going to consider sharing him with anyone, and if he so much as thought of sleeping around, well he'd wish for death and be denied its sweet release.

[7 months later]

Things were chaotic in the Land of Spring. The reason? It was the day of probably the largest wedding in the Elemental Nations. The Nation's leaders, Kages, Feudal Lords, and Kings, Queens, Princes, and Princesses; Everyone that the strongest couple in the land ever helped were all in attendance.

Even if Sakura wanted to try and keep the wedding to their closest friends and family, she knew how high profile she was, never mind her husband-to-be. Her being Tsunade's successor in the medical field, she managed to save a lot of lives during her career so far. Naruto's fame was self-explanatory… "Hero of Wave", "Liberator of the Land of Spring", his role in stopping and changing Gaara from a bloodthirsty lunatic to being the best Kazekage the Land of Wind has ever had, saving Gaara from the Akatsuki, "Hero of the Leaf", being the linchpin that turned the tide of the 4th Great Ninja War, and being labeled "The Bringer of Peace." So there was no chance of having a small wedding.

The only person not in attendance was Sasuke. Naruto had asked him to be his best man, however, the stain on his reputation and the amount of hatred still directed at him for his crimes, The Last Uchiha politely declined, not wanting to ruin his teammate's big day. Surprisingly the blonde knucklehead didn't fight the issue since he was better learned in the world of politics.

What was a surprise to Naruto and Sakura was that Hinata sporting a very expensive-looking diamond ring and had the beginnings of a baby bump showing under her new Suna outfit. Of course, it was little surprise that Hinata's once peaches and cream complexion had turned to more of a golden tan. Sakura knew Naruto had completed the alternate seal for the Hyuuga clan a few months ago, and knew of the contract regarding Hinata's and Gaara's relationship, but didn't think either one of them would move that quickly.

Of course, Sakura herself was sporting a baby belly. She was 6 and a half months pregnant since it turns out Naruto was extremely fertile, coupled with how much he unloaded into her. Tsunade had laid into them for not being careful and not using protection before congratulating the young couple.

As for why the wedding was happening so quickly after getting engaged, well let's just say that Tsunade and Sakura's parents were very vocal about Naruto "taking responsibility" and not wanting grandchildren to be considered "bastard children." While not really caring about it, they decided it best to heed the advice to stave off any trouble.

"Sakura, are you ready yet? Naruto and everyone are waiting!" Ino, her maid of honor, called out from behind the sliding door.

"...I suppose it would be rude to keep the damn world waiting." Sakura sighed. "And this is supposed to be my big day, and yet it feels like a damned carnival…"

"You should have known what you were getting into when you accepted to marry him… I mean with how much he's accomplished, there was no way every foreign dignitary wouldn't show up, invited or not? He did save the world with your and Sasuke's help, sealing away the Goddess that gave humans Chakra, not to mention breaking the worldwide genjutsu that would have killed everyone but Team 7…" The platinum blonde asked rhetorically.

The pinkette sighed heavily before a small smile formed. "Yeah, I know. But that's part of the reason I love him. His ability to make so many connections with so little ease. Everyone would have been done for a long time ago had he not been who is… Kami knows he could have ended up like Gaara when we first met him, then we all would have been doomed."

"I suppose you're right." Her best friend said softly. "Listen Sakura, I know this isn't the best time to say this, hell, it's probably the worst time to do so, but I feel I must tell you." Ino paused before taking a deep breath. "I once considered pursuing Naruto myself. It was after he brought everyone back from the dead after defeating Pein and I might done so if I hadn't been interested in Sai."

"You really think I didn't notice the looks you sent him during the time the village was being rebuilt?" Sakura said opening the door with a smirk on her face, wearing her traditional wedding kimono that hide her figure, while except for her growing belly, her hair adorned with a jeweled circlet that had emeralds embedded in, gifted to her by Koyuki, her lips had a touch of lipstick on them.

"Wow, gotta say you look stunning forehead… Your baby belly only adds to your beauty in this instance. You'll knock him dead out there." Ino said trying to deflect the knowing look and comment.

"Thank you." The soon-to-be bride nodded with a smile, allowing the change of subject. "Come on, I'm sure my idiot is a nervous wreck right now."

The platinum blonde giggled as she follows close behind while signaling the Bride's Maids to come along. They were Temari, Tenten, and Anko, who surprisingly was wearing the requested kimono instead of her usual trench coat and a mesh shirt. Sakura had considered asking Hinata, especially after seeing her with a ring of her own, but didn't feel it would be appropriate. Sure she knew Hinata moved on, but it still felt a little awkward having her future husband's ex at the wedding. If she was to be honest, she was a little worried about one of Naruto's admirers speaking out during the ceremony.

"Hey Pinky, relax will you? I can practically hear the tension in your body." Anko said patting her on the back. "It'd be a political nightmare if anyone tries to interfere with this wedding. Yeah, every one of the blonde hunk's admirers is here, but all of them have either moved on or know that they don't stand a chance against you. Just remember, you've had his heart since you will kids, nothing can beat that kind of loyalty."

"Thanks, Anko." The pinkette said with a small smile. "And thanks for agreeing to dress traditionally for today."

"Yeah well, don't get used to seeing me like this. After the ceremony and whatnot, I'm changing… I hate being all dolled up." The Snake Mistress grumbled getting laughs from the girls.

[With Naruto]

As Sakura predicted, Naruto was pacing in worry, wanting everything to be perfect. And like his future wife, he was slightly worried about his fangirls and admirer's trying something. It wasn't until Shikamaru, his best man, had unknowingly said the exact same thing Anko had told Sakura. With the Lazy Nara's reassurance, he felt a little better.

At the altar, stood Tsunade, who had agreed to perform the ceremony since the two of them were so important to her. Standing next to her was Iruka, who emotionally agreed to attend the wedding as Naruto's father figure, with Gaara, Killer Bee, and Kakashi standing next to Shikamaru as groomsmen.

Koyuki was also standing nearby to welcome everyone to her country. She was beyond honored when Naruto and Sakura had asked to have their wedding in the Land of Spring and of course, she immediately agreed having owed them so much. And of course an event of this magnitude, they wouldn't keep the press out, there were film crews all over the place to broadcast the wedding to the world for those who couldn't attend, however, the world's strongest couple made it very clear that if they tried to record and make a profit off their wedding that there would be hell to pay, and not just legally either.

Naruto, of course, was in a traditional black wedding kimono, only had a bit of orange still mixed in, something that Sakura desperately tried to talk him out of but in the end, she relented, realizing that he wouldn't be Naruto without having some orange in his outfits. And what was worse is that he had Shikamaru and the rest of his wedding party wearing a small amount of orange as well. The only one that didn't seem to have an issue with it was Gaara since orange wasn't a far cry from brown, at least in his opinion.

"Are you ready? The girls will be here in a minute or two." Hinata said as she deactivated her Byakugan.

Naruto smiled as steeled himself. "I've been waiting for this moment all my life."

A small lingering part of her heart ached to hear that but she knows that Sakura has been the apple of his eye his entire life. So she smiled, nodded, and took her seat next to where Iruka would be seated after the ceremony started.

A few moments later, the band started playing, with the bridesmaids coming out first since there was no need for a flower girl since the Cherry Blossom Trees were in full bloom and scattering their petals all over the courtyard. Once the girls took their spot on the opposing side of the guys, everyone turned in their seats and watched Sakura being led out by her father.

Naruto was mesmerized by his love's beauty, which was amplified by the jeweled circlet. He had never seen her more beautiful. It wasn't until Shikamaru subtly pinched him that he realized she was standing in front of him waking to be taken from her father.

"You better take care of her Uzumaki." Kizashi said quietly.

"Dad…!" Sakura admonished quickly. "I'm in good hands."

"That and she has the power to make me regret it if I do hurt her, intentionally or not." Naruto added with a chuckle earning an elbow from the pinkette in return.

Koyuki nodded as the two of their places, signaling they were ready to begin. "Ladies and Gentlemen. I welcome you to the biggest wedding in our lifetime! Here, in person, we have the immediate friends and family of Sakura Haruno and Naruto Uzumaki. As well as the people they have personally helped over the years.

These two, along with their team of Kakashi Hatake and Sasuke Uchiha, helped liberate my country from the tyrannical rule of my Uncle Doto. However, Naruto never gave up on me when all I wanted to do was run away from my responsibilities. He gave me the courage to do what I needed to and brought our eternal spring.

I am honored to call Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi my personal friends and look forward to our continued alliance."

She paused as the crowd erupted in applause and after a minute she raised her hand to silence the crowd. "Now I turn it over to the man that is here as the Groom's father figure, Iruka Umino."

"I'm very proud of you two… I've watched you grow since the academy. To think that you two would come so far and get so strong." Iruka said loud enough for everyone to hear and the camera's to pick his voice up. "Naruto, I was elated when I heard you finally won Sakura's heart, especially since you have been trying since even before you hit puberty.

And Sakura, I won't embarrass you by informing the world of how you were in the academy, however, I will say that you've come a long way and it took you long enough to realize what was right in front of you the entire time.

Now, look at you two… known today as the strongest couple in the world. I'm honored to have been your sensei at a point in your lives."

With that he took his seat next to Hinata, fighting to keep his tears in check seeing as how the wedding has only just started as everyone gave small applause before they quieted down and awaited Tsunade's speech.

"Thank you, Iruka and Lady Koyuki for those kind words. Now then, before I begin, it is customary to ask if anyone objects to the union of Naruto and Sakura. Speak now or forever hold your peace." Tsunade said with an edge that was clear there would be pain for the individual that was stupid enough to oppose two of her favorite people's big day.

And after a deafening silence, even if there were a cult of girls out in the crowd that was fidgeting and clearly wanting to speak out against it, they weren't stupid enough to invoke the wrath of not only Sakura, or Tsunade, but everyone else there.

"Very well." The older blonde nodded. "Now I've been informed that the Bride and Groom have written their own vows, so I will say my piece and then turn it over to the lovebirds.

When I first met Naruto, well, I thought he was just a noisy, idiotic brat that knew nothing about the world… However, during the week we spent together, his tenaciousness won me over, and brought me back to Konoha to be the 5th Hokage…" She stopped before chuckling a little. "He quickly became the son I never had… headaches and all.

It wasn't until Naruto came back in a bloody mess, with a couple of Chidori-sized holes in his chest from his failed attempt at bringing back the Uchiha to the village, that Sakura asked me to take her on as my apprentice. You all have seen the result with your own eyes on multiple occasions, before, during, and after the war.

She became my second daughter and my true successor in every sense… She has my strength, she has surpassed and advanced my knowledge of the medical arts. And now she has surpassed me on the greatest field of them all, she accepted the knucklehead that was too stubborn to give up on her. I'm very proud of both of them… And Naruto's parents would be especially proud and if they could, I know Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki would be here to this Momentous Day in person."

[Up in Heaven]

"You're damn right we'd be down there in person if we could!" Kushina pouted. She wanted nothing more than to be down there to give her baby boy and her daughter-in-law a big bear hug.

Minato sighed since, he too, wanted to be down there to officially welcome Sakura into the family, even if he gave his blessing during the war. "We'll just have to be sure to give them a big welcome when they join us dear."

[Back at the wedding]

Naruto and Sakura nodded, taking that as their cue to officially take center stage. The day before they had discussed who would go first and in the end, Sakura had convinced him she needed to go first. She had so much to say, to get off her chest.

So taking a deep breath, she began her speech. "Naruto, I love you with all my heart. And I always will. However, as you know, it wasn't always the case… in fact in the beginning I thought you were nothing but an annoying loser while I was still nothing back a fangirl, fawning over Sasuke… I was so blinded by my fantasy that I didn't see the truth of the day of our team placements, the day that mattered the most to me.

You thought it was a bright idea to transform into your rival to get my opinion of you out of me without me getting violent, and let's face I do have a short fuse. However, the truth I should have seen that day. While transformed, you told me you loved my forehead, that you could always find somewhere new to kiss every time you went looking… something Sasuke would never have said."

She paused to wipe her tears with Ino nodding in agreement that Sasuke would never have anything that romantic back then. "That was what cemented my feelings for him since, again, I was too lost in my little fantasy that he was the perfect guy when really, the perfect guy was right in front of me my entire life. I didn't start realizing it till you saved me from Gaara, and even then it was a fleeting thought…

No, it was during your 3-year training trip with Master Jiraiya that I started to realize I had feelings for you. Every day that you were gone, I wondered how you were doing, if you were safe, what you might be learning… but at the same time… I couldn't let go of my feelings for Sasuke… I was torn between my budding feelings for you and my longtime feelings for him… I even tried using your feelings for me to try to get to forget about that stupid promise to bring him back… a promise I later realized that broke your heart to make.

I broke your heart, even more, when I used that semi-fake confession… So I know full well I don't deserve to be up to here with you. But, at the same time, I couldn't bear to see you with anyone else… I love you too damn much…

That day during the way when Kurama was taken out of you… and Gaara brought you to me, I could feel my world falling apart… it took everything I had to focus, to manually keep your heart pumping until we got to your dad so that you could get Kurama's other half transferred to you. The sight of you dying that day cemented my love for you…

And while Sasuke has done a lot of deplorable things during his time as a Rogue Ninja, the talk I had with him almost 2 years ago made me realize that had you told me as yourself about that day on the bench, I would have been yours a long, long time ago.

I love you Naruto Uzumaki, and I will spend the rest of my life at your side, through thick and thin, doesn't matter if peace somehow fails, or we get sick or end up on hard times financially. I am yours."

Naruto was in tears from her heartfelt words… He was also in awe at what she did… airing her dark and shameful past to the world. If he ever doubted she loved him before, that doubt was long gone. He could feel the literal shock and awe from everyone present, he could only imagine what the people watching from their homes could be thinking.

"That must've taken a lot of courage to do in this setting brat. If you ever let her go, I will force my way out of this seal and drag you to hell with me." Kurama said seriously.

'You don't need to worry about that. I'm never letting her go.' The blonde mentally nodded.

"Sakura, first off, thank you. The courage that must have taken to say all that… I couldn't be more in love with you if I tried. I've loved you since I laid eyes on you… and while it might be something I inherited from Dad, I was instantly drawn to your exotic pink hair, your emerald green eyes, and your lovely forehead.

As Iruka said… I've loved you since before I even started liking girls. Even after all the times, you hit me when I annoyed you, which I'll admit, I was persistently annoying about asking you out for dates or just to hang out.

I'll admit, tying up Sasuke and transforming into him to get info out of you was a pretty dumb idea, especially since we almost shared our first kiss together that day… But despite that, I never gave up. Yeah, I could have told it was me when I saw you dropping hints that you were starting to like me, but as I've told you before, I didn't want to destroy the one memory you were hanging on, the one thing that let you keep faith in Sasuke…

Yeah, you begging me to bring him back to you while you had tears in your eyes, really hurt… I wanted to bring him back because he was my brother in all blood. That semi-fake confession hurt as well, mostly because I knew your heart wasn't completely in it… but none of that measured up to after our battle with Kaguya…

The moment Sasuke attacked you and shoved his hand into your chest, I thought he killed you… I was ready to tear him limb from limb for taking you from me… in fact, him saying that he simply put you in a genjutsu didn't help matters much. I still wanted to kill him… but we were evenly matched we fought tooth and nail, ending up losing our dominant arms in the process… it wasn't until I saw you kneeling over us, trying to save us from bleeding out, that I knew you were ok… I never once that it was a hallucination… I knew in my heart that you were really there.

I never stopped loving you, not even when I tried to move on… I couldn't let go of my feelings for you. My heart is yours, just as it always has been, and just as it will always be. You are my everything… losing you would break me. So, I am yours, Sakura Haruno, and I will spend the rest of my life at your side, through thick and thin, doesn't matter if peace somehow fails, or we get sick or end up on hard times financially. I love you too damn much."

At that point, there wasn't a single dry eye in the courtyard. Everyone had tears rolling down their cheeks. Tsunade had to compose herself to make it official. "W-with that, I give you Naruto and Sakura Uzumaki! You may kiss the bride."

Throwing herself at her lovable knucklehead of a husband, she kissed him every ounce of love she had for him, a kiss he gladly returned with just as must passion and love. Those watching erupted into cheers and applause, celebrating a literal match forged from two unrelenting hearts.

AN: I apologize for taking so long to get this out! This was actually really hard to write since I don't have a lot of experience in the romance department… I can only hope you guys have enjoyed this story.
