4 hours later Cologne received another call "Elder it's Daisuke of Team two, we got our first item and Akane is back" he listened then handed the phone to Akane "Cologne I went to Ryugenzawa and got some of the moss of life from Shinnosuke as I figured it might buy us some time if we need it"

"Tendo residence, Cologne speaking"
"Team three checking in we have reached the Mushroom temple but it's getting dark we'll start the search in the morning"
Cologne informed the team of team two's status before hanging up

"Team one checking in we have reached Furano however pretty much everything is closed we're getting a hotel room, some food then we'll head out first thing to get the first of our ingredients"
Cologne then gave team one the updates from the other teams

Ranma left the Nekohatten wearing a blue sleeveless cheongsam* and her hair styled liked Shampoo's she was now an Amazon (& his male side would be considered equal to a woman if in the village as a male).
Ranma walked into Uuchan's, having decided to go there after she was done at the Nekohatten. When Ukyo saw her enter, she blurted out in a questioning tone "Ranchan?" she looked at her for a moment then looked at the empty restaurant, walked back to her door and locked it before flipping the sign
"Uuchan, we need to talk"
"We do, Ranchan" they sat down at a table
"I know what Pop did to you is unfair and while I want to make it right but I can't." She held up a hand for a second "I think I know what you were going to say and I am sorry. A few days after moving into his Mother's house, he woke up to his new phone ringing

Ranma said as she put on a knee-length coat "I know you wanted to spend today with me but I'm sorry, I need to go in for a while" Nodoka looked disappointed but said ok just before Ranma hugged her Mom, said bye and left. Nodoka ran out after her as she realized she didn't wish her a Happy Birthday. She quickly exited the house only to see that Ranma was already some distance away
A few hours later Ranma entered the house took her shoes off and was surprised to find her Mom wasn't home, she made a couple of sandwiches then sat down on the couch to watch some tv. Once she was finished, she went to get washed, she had just gotten in the tub when

"You've got to be kidding-sigh-" she got and got her phone
"Hello"
"Hey Saotome, are you still at work?"
"No Nabs, I am at home and I was just getting in the tub"
"So, I guess that means you forgot that you were supposed to meet us for supper?"
"Tonight? I thought that was tomorrow night. Does it have to be tonight? Nabiki looked slightly confused "could we do it tomorrow instead?"
"Sorry Saotome, but everyone is already here waiting for you"
"Alright give me half an hour. Oh uh Nabiki, I forgot where we were meeting?"
Nabiki then told her "Pony Corral**" before both hung up then she went and told both Kasumi and Nodoka that it sounded like he didn't know today was his birthday. A short while later, Ranma said "Sorry" as he approached the table (wearing black dress pants and a light blue shirt) and sat next to Kasumi and his mother
A short while later as they were finishing up their meals Ranma "Oh it's one of those places that do a birthday song, I wonder who the poor guy or girl is" Nodoka and Kasumi looked at each other than to Genma only to see he was running out the restaurant, both frowned as Akane stated "It's for you, you baka" as they put a cake in front of him
"Me? but It's not my birthday"
"What do you mean, son?
"My birthday is Christmas Day. Although we never celebrated it or Christmas" Nodoka looked pissed
"No son, your birthday is today, July 16" Ranma looked surprised
"Really?" she nodded "then that means I'm not seventeen I'm eighteen"
Everyone ate cake then watched him open his presents which were an Autograph of Jackie Chan and a slip of paper saying "Debt owed $0" (from Nabiki), new shirts (from Kasumi), a few mangas, comics and free meal coupon books for Uuchans and Nekohatten (from Ukyo and Shampoo) a few martial art scrolls (from Nodoka), a few Jackie Chan movies (from Akane) a punching bag (from Hiroshi/Daisuke/Sayuri and Yuka), a new blanket and sleeping bag (from Genma and Soun)

Ranma's Accident
Just a week after his birthday Ranma was at the Tendo dojo for his after school tutoring session with his girlfriend as Ranma was finishing up the last of Kasumi's lesson she called him into the kitchen
"Yeah Sumi-chan"
"Can you check the stove it doesn't seem to be working"
"Yeah, I'll take a look" Ranma bent and checked "hmm, I can't see anything except that the pilot light is out" Ranma took one of those long matches and went to relight it

Ranma grabbed his face and started screaming, Kasumi screamed "NABIKI CALL AN AMBULANCE" tried to help calm him down only for Akane to yell "Ranma you Baka shut up"
A little while later Nodoka and the others entered Ranma's hospital room as the Doctor left however Nodoka ran to the bed grabbed him in a hug as she cried
"Aunty, aunty calm down. He's ok, but"
"But?"
"The doctor said we'll know for sure in a week"
"If I need to rent a seeing eye dog or buy one" to which Kasumi surprised everyone and Gibbs*** Smacked him
"Sorry," Ranma said sheepishly
"So, what happened?"
"I offered a light to a temperamental stove"
After being discharged and spending the weekend at home resting, Ranma got up, got dressed and went downstairs, as he entered the kitchen, he surprised his Mother
"Why are you up, son"
"-sigh- I am bored. I can't practice, I can't read and I don't feel like listing to music or tv so I figured I'd go for a walk"
Ranma took his stick (A/N: not sure if there's a proper name for it) and headed out, he had been walking for a while when he bumped into some random person who yelled

"I'm sorry he's blind as well, please accept our apology." said a female voice
"If you accept mine, I shouldn't have said that" both accepted the others apology then they continued on their way a short while later Ranma heard "rreow" Ranma started to shiver but he didn't feel the usual fear that accompanied the sound, he decided to file that away for later and continued on his when
"RANMA PREPAre... to...umm what happened?" Ryoga asked his anger fading
"I'm hopefully temporarily blind" Ranma answered before explaining what happened "and what's with the "prepare to die?" if your no longer involved with Akari and want to date Akane then just ask her out."
"No, actually I just figured that it's become my standard greeting/challenge to you when we fight. So."
"Ryoga, you should know I have ended the engagement with Akane"
"RRRRRAA"
"HOLD IT" Ryoga stopped "First I'm blind, second we talked to each other after I decided and we are gonna try to be friends and see if something might happen. So, you might have a shot with her, IF you tell her about P-chan"

"She might but she would eventually forgive you but the only way she wouldn't, is if I tell her and I will because this has gone on far to long."

"So, I will tell her if you don't the next time see her, ok Ryoga?" Ranma asked after a few minutes of silence

"uhh who are you talking to Mister?" Ranma sighed "Is there no one beside me?" the person who interrupted replied "besides me, no" Ranma sighed and mutter "Damnit, Ryoga" before asking the person "the guy I was talking to gets lost extremely easily. Could you tell me where I am, please?"
"You're about a block away from Furinken high"
"Which way?" the person told him to go straight ahead, Ranma arrived at the school gate as the lunch bell sounded and was soon spotted by Hiroshi and Yuka after telling them why he was there and asking if they could help him to the Tendo's he was spotted by Kuno before they could leave
"Can this be? Thine rumours are thou true. The foul sorcerer has been lang helpless. Today thy gods have smiled upon the Blue Thunder of Furinken high as today is the day, I shall send you to the afterlife doth freeing the fierce tigress and pigtail goddess from thine grasp"
"Did you mean for all those words to come out together or did they just fall out randomly?" Ranma asked
"You doth think yourself funny, foul sorcerer but thou disgust me" Ranma interrupted him
"That's right Kuno, I disgust you with everyone I know and they all think you're disgusting"
Kuno let out a scream as he ran towards, Hiroshi told Ranma where Kuno was and he threw a punch which connected with Kuno stopping his advance "Figures, your so bad at fighting Kuno, that a blind man could beat you" before delivering a spin kick which knocked him out. Once Kuno was down Hiroshi, took Ranma to the dojo
After that brief fight, the rest of the week was uneventful because Ranma didn't leave the house again (except for an appointment with a psychiatrist) as Kasumi spent the next few days at his place tutoring him (mainly in history and English).
When Friday came. Ranma, was nervous because he knew that in a few short minutes his life could change forever. The Doctor had Ranma shield his eyes as he removed the bandages and told him to shade his eyes before he removed the gauze then told him to open them slowly as he pulled his hand away, he looked at Kasumi
"Utsukushī Tenshi"**** muttered Ranma, however she was the only one who heard it,
as he said aloud, "They work"
