I enjoy reading variations of the Harry Potter stories. I enjoy reading female HP stories as well as OP, strong, smart HP stories.
Sadly, in a lot of stories two things occur on and on that sour my reading time, so I wanted to try my hand on a fanfiction myself.
Stories are getting repetitive and HP stories are for the younger generation.
Don't know if its because my own life has me more jaded or if the perspective of the reader changes with age. But reading the stories today I often wonder, if Harry shouldn't be more lethal or at least aggressive in how he handles death eaters. For example Draco in the books may be redeemable. But Pettigrew had the chance and actively worked against Harry and is the reason for a situation that gave him nightmares for a long time – seeing Cedrics death and Voldemorts resurrection (and I don't think they will ever vanish truly).
Yes, running around like a murdering maniac would make him pretty much like Voldy. But stunning rapist, murderers, knowing a finite, or an enervate, from his partner sends this murderer immediately again after you, makes him stupid.
On the other hand, children are allowed to be stupid. But what about the adults? And where should he be in his growth? Did his harsh childhood accelerated growing up?
Different countries have different views on how for example the police should handle lethal weapons. But at the point of Harrys seventh year I truly believe every country would allow lethal force. Wouldn't it?
About this story:
The idea is that a mother that has been through war and sacrifice will help him grow up faster, but stays true to how he is. But, as I said, I don't want to repeat the same stories. I begin with an unexpected gender change. But the story will not focus on that. The thought behind it is to help to differ between the mentality of Harry Potter as we know him and the unknown her, as I try to portrait her.
I want to paint a less nice wizarding world. A more proactive female Harry. An asshole father (a picture of the wizarding world) and a genius mother (I think people talk way too less about Lily). A manipulative Dumbledore that thinks too much about himself and a adores too much a stagnating wizarding world. I think about more methods to destroy the bigots and people that stand in the way of a better world.
