Chapter 42: Kraken Attack

Previously, Straw Hat and Fairy Tail Pirates manage to escape the navy and journey to Fishman Island, learning from Dr. Stylish, who is now a member of Tartaros reveals that Fishman Island is a target for them.

After the Fairy Tail and their friends talk about some their next mission, the three former Night Raid assassins reveal their identities to the Straw Hats thus showing their memories with Mest's magic, after the Straw Hats learned a bit about the three assassins and what kind of targets they need to assassinate, they form an alliance.

However, Caribou and his crew eventually catch up with the two pirate groups hoping to catch them and collect their bounties.

Natsu crackled his knuckles. "So, Carrie boo has come to fight,"

"It's Caribou!" Both Happy and Lucy corrected their friend's pronunciation.

"What is that cow thing?" Gajeel pointed out.

A sea-like cow was pulling the Caribou Brother's galleon.

Sanji saw the sea cow and gasped. "Hold on, that cow looks like..."

"Momoo!" Zoro, Usopp, and Nami finished.

Luffy tilts his head in confusion. "Who's that again?"

"Seriously, that's the sea beast that worked with Arlong!" Usopp barked comically.

Akame began to drool at the large sea beast. "Wonder if it tastes good..."

She was then lifted by her shirt by Leone. "Sorry, but, I don't think it's for the menu."

Fujika had other thoughts. "That monster is one thing, however, dealing with Caribou and his men will be another story."

"Land next to Fairy Tail, once we eliminate them, we'll go after the Straw Hats!" Caribou stated. "Now sea cow get in and ram their ship!"

Sea cow rammed its master's ship against the Fairy Tail's, causing some of the Fairy Tail wizards to lose their balance.

"That bastard," Bickslow growled.

"I think it's time we give him a taste of the Thunder Legion," Freed suggested glaring at the Wet-Haired pirates

"Hold on!" Erza stated taking out her sword and then she glanced at the others. "Listen, you guys, stand back, I'll take care of this guy."

"Why can't we join in, mostly me?" Natsu complained.

"Moron, if we attack at once, our magic might cause some holes in the coating, if that happens, then we're screwed," Gajeel answered.

"What'd you call me, nail face!" Natsu questioned with shark teeth.

"That blows, I was hoping to brawl, isn't that right my babies," Bickslow questioned his toys with a huge grin.

"Right! Right!" His dolls chanted

"Besides, I could kick his ass quickly than you pyro," Gajeel boasted.

"Like hell, you could nail face!" Natsu barked comically.

"You want a piece of me?"

"That's right, nail boy!"

"Enough!" Erza roared in a demonic voice causing the two dragon slayers to whimper in a corner.

Hearing that spooked Momoo just as Caribou decided to jump onto the Water Fairy as soon both ships' coating touched. "Now, surrender, and I might let some of you guys live,"

"Oh no, our new friends are in trouble!" Chopper panicked.

Sanji gritted his teeth. "Don't worry ladies, Sanji is on his way!"

"Hold on, let's give them a chance to fight," Robin suggested. "After all, we get to see what else Fairy Tail is made up to."

"Sounds good to me," Usopp said. "Besides, I was going to fight him anyway."

"Liar..." Sanji whispered.

Momoo turned its eyes towards Erza, who was giving off a strong aura, the scarlet fairy mage continued to talk with Caribou. "Listen, you want to fight, then you'll have to go through me."

Caribou was astonished at who he was meeting. "Oh my, Erza the Scarlet Knight, I must admit, you're even more beautiful in person." He licked his lips in a creepy matter. "I see the other ladies, though, some of them don't have bounties, you all stand out so well, especially with your chests, except for the blue-haired child."

Wendy felt ashamed at the last part. "My chest...is...small."

Lucy was already creeped out by the wet-haired pirate. "Geez, another pervert."

Leone scoffed. "I hate men that act like that."

Millianna was disgusted too. "Such a pig!"

Chelsea turned her head. "He's even worse than Lubbock."

"Now men, attack now!" Caribou commanded, but no sound of his men was heard. "Huh?"

Momoo was frightened by Erza's presence mostly the aura she was giving off. "Hey, sea cow, where are you going?" Coribou questioned.

"Oh no, we left our captain behind!" One of the Wet-haired pirates added in realization.

"Turn around, we need to save our bro!"

Caribou was in disbelief. "WHAAATTT!" Natsu, Gajeel, Laxus, and Leone walked closely to the logia devil fruit user.

"I think I shall burn your body to a crisp,"

"I want to you get a taste of metal fist,

"Some lightning should give you a nice shock,"

"I say we crack his skull,"

Lucy sweatdropped at Leone's suggestion. "That's a little too much,"

Fujika took out handcuffs. "Here, use these,"

"Handcuffs?" Pango questioned.

Wasting no time, Erza took the handcuffs and locked them on Caribou's wrists. "No, these handcuffs, my devil fruit powers are..."

"He's a Devil Fruit user?" Gajeel questioned.

"Yes, I ate the Swamp-Swamp fruit, a logia type to be precise," Caribou answered until his jaw opened in realization. "Damn it, I blabbed that out!"

"He's dumb," Lucy thought with a sweatdrop.

"What kind of handcuffs are those?" Leone asked the amazon lily islander

Fujika giggled. "The handcuffs have sea prism stone inside, which are crystallized ocean-like stones that cancel out a person's devil fruit powers."

"Who created something like that?" Mest asked.

Miyaka decided to answer that. "The navy's famous research professor Dr. Vegapunk, he's the greatest genius through the navy's history,"

"Dr. Mega-duck?" Natsu questioned.

"Dr. Vegapunk!" Lucy and Happy corrected again.

"Anyway, that's more of reason to keep those on you," Erza approached the swamp-swamp user. "So, as if now, you're our prisoner, try anything funny, I'll make you regret you messed with Fairy Tail..." Her face darkened a bit. "Is that clear?"

Leone approached the Wet-Haired captain. "That's right, there's one thing I hate is disgusting perverts like you." She added in a darkened smile.

Caribou was shaken to the core at the demonic faces of the two chicks. "Uhh... yes...I got it."

Sanji took hold of the transponder and called to the Fairy Tail Pirates and someone answered.

"Hey, are you Fairy Tail ladies alright?" He called.

"Is this Black-Leg Sanji?" To his disappointment it was Makarov,

"Damn, it's the small old man," The cook whined with crocodile tears.

"Give me that!" Nami demanded as she tossed the perverted cook aside. "Anyway, Makarov was your name, how is the situation over there?"

"Things are under control now, we got Caribou as our prisoner, also, we find out he's a Logia Devil Fruit user, however, we got him trapped in handcuffs that have sea prism stone," The former Fairy Tail guild master answered.

Luffy was gazing at some nearby fish and a sea turtle. "Hmm... what can we use to pull our ship, a turtle, Nah, too small."

"Sounds like he got a crazy idea again," Sanji said getting up from the floor.

"Damn, we're about to get into serious crap again," Usopp whimpered.

"It's also getting cold down here too," Levy said shivering a bit.

"Yeah, how why is that?" Natsu wondered.

"It's because the more we go under the less warm it becomes," Aquapad answered as he began to take out a paper. "Also, there's something you guys need to know."

Lucy walked over to the Marlin Fishman. "Let me see that." The Fishman handed over the paper and the Celestial Dragon read it.

"What does it say?" Yukino asked.

"I have a feeling things are about to get crazier," Sting said.

"That's for sure," Lector added.

"At least, it's readable," Rouge thought.

"According to the details, this is a diagram about the underwater currents," Lucy spoke. "It seems there are different currents."

"That's right, each one goes in different directions, meaning, we can end up going in circles," Aquapad added. "Each one could take to 2,000 years to reach to the surface."

"2,000 years!" Lucy, Natsu, Happy, and Gray exclaimed in surprise.

"Does that mean we'll be here forever?" Levy whimpered nervously.

"No, as long as we find the downward current, we'll be able to reach my homeland," Aquapad said relieving the Fairy Tail Pirates. "However, I heard that there some monsters that lurk some deeper into the sea which have dark currents,"

"Monsters?!" Levy, Lucy, Yukino, and Happy shrieked comically.

Natsu, Sting, Rogue, and Gajeel just smirked.

"Bring them on!"

"I'm all fired up to face these monsters!"

"We'll show them the power of the twin dragon slayers, right Rogue?"

"That's right,"

Elfman pumped his arms. "Yeah, let's show them some manly power!"

Gray smirked a bit. "I ain't going to let the dragon slayers have all the fun."

"Only those idiots would say that," Lucy sighed.

Yukino nodded her head in agreement.

Brook discussed the same thing about the currents, Nami explained the same to her crew about downward current too, though, the male crew members didn't understand much to her annoyance.

Robin then heard a sound. "Hmm...?" She noticed a strange current that pulled away nearby fish. "Hey Nami, I see it!"

The Fairy Tail pirates noticed the current too.

"It's the downward current!" Makarov stated. "Erza, take the hull!"

"Right!" The scarlet mage saluted.

"Look over there!" Gildarts pointed further into the current.

"Whoa, is that a..." Cana began to say.

"Waterfall!" Lucy, Happy, and Yukino finished with amazement.

"So cool!" Pango and Temukai shouted with stars in their eyes.

Usagi smiled impressively. "Quite the sight."

Tigress was in awe. "That's quite unexpected."

Fujika was lost for words. "I heard of these under waterfalls but seeing is another."

Leone smirked. "I wish the rest of Night Raid was here to see this."

Akame felt the same way, wishing her sister was here to do such an amazing thing.

Chelsea had other thoughts. "Seeing such things like this is unbelievable, but I guess anything can be possible."

Little did they know two of the pirate groups were about to get an unexpected encounter.

Caribou looked over the ship's railing and saw a pair of glowing yellow eyes. "Guys, I think something is down there!"

"What is your deal?" Gajeel asked.

"There's the giant pair of glowing yellow eyes below us!" The Wet-Haired pirate captain answered in a panic tone.

"You expect us to believe some pervert like you?" Leone questioned with a scoff.

"I ain't kidding, it's the legendary Kraken, a monster that lurks deep in the ocean's dark sea floors!" Caribou yelled. "It's said to have sunk countless ships that come near its territory!"

The Straw Hats heard the commotion.

Sanji went to call them again. "Hey, come in, what's all the commotion over there?"

Lisanna answered the snail. "Hello, this is Lisanna speaking."

The chef went into lover boy mode. "Lisanna! Happy to hear your cute voice!"

Bonk

Nami took hold of the snail's receiver. "Anyway, what is the commotion over at your ship?"

"Caribou shouting about seeing a sea monster below us," Lisanna replied. "I don't know if he's bluffing or not, but..."

"But... what?" Nami asked realizing that the youngest take-over sibling's voice went silent. "Lisanna, are you there?" She then froze as soon as parts of a destroyed galleon floated up.

"C'mon, is this a joke?" Usopp asked. "There's no such thing as a Kraken."

His crew members froze, at least some of them did. "What is it?" Usopp asked then he heard some gurgling sounds. "Huh?"

A large tentacle was close to the Sunny and another appeared close to the Water Fairy.

"It's the Kraken!" Usopp screamed.

"AAAHHHH!" Chopper, Lucy, Yukino, Levy, Happy, and Chelsea shrieked comically.

Natsu, Gajeel, Sting, and Rogue smirked.

"Fine, things are getting interesting,"

"Pyro, I call dims on the Kraken,"

"This is a job for the twin dragon slayers,"

"Right, we'll show this beast our power,"

The four started to headbutt each other and started to fist fight comically.

"Enough!" Erza demanded in a demonic tone and with a dark glare on her face.

"Yes ma'am," The four dragon slayers whimpered sweating heavily.

"She's scary,' Temukai added sweating a bit.

"She knows how to get those knuckleheads under control," Tigress said impressed.

Luffy got an idea of capturing the Kraken, however, his crew members were only confused thinking that their captain has lost his mind.

"Oh! This is a nightmare!" Lucy cried with crocodile tears.

"Yeah! The monster will crush us!" Wendy added in a whimpering tone.

"Would you two stop acting like children," Carla said crossing her arms.

"Juvia scared, protect me my darling!" Juvia said faking crying while hugging Gray's arm. "Get off!"

Miyaka looked at the two with a jealous stare.

Caribou then had a suggestion. "Wait, I got something that might help you guys." The Fairy Tail mages turned to the Wet-Haired pirate.

A moment later.

Natsu, Sting, Rogue, and Gajeel had strange bubble-like suits on.

"These are Flutter Kick Coatings, allowing you guys to walk through the sea, in other words, as long as you stay in the bubbles, you can fight as much as you want," Caribou explained as another thought came to his head. "If I let these morons call the shots, we'll all be dead in the sea,"

"Well, I guess you're good for something," Gildarts whispered despite not trusting the Wet-Haired pirate captain.

"I guess so," Cana agreed seemingly. "I still don't like this bastard."

"He's still a pig," Millianna said with "Hmph".

"Keep an eye on him," Makarov whispered to Erza. "I don't trust this man, especially how he looks at women."

The scarlet mage didn't take kindly that part but had to agree. "Right."

"Hey Mest, give these extra coatings to the Straw Hats, they're going to need some of these too," Erza ordered the former council member.

Mest nodded and teleported with the suits, giving them to Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji, thus explaining what Caribou said.

Natsu grinned. "Let's do this, I'm all fired up!"

Gajeel did his trademark laugh. "I'll give this sea beast a taste of the power of Black Steel Gajeel,"

Sting grinned too. "Rogue, let's the Kraken the power of the twin dragon slayers!"

"Right, Sting!" Rogue replied with a rough smile.

"Go, Sting!" Lector cheered.

"You too, Rogue!" Frosch jumped.

Erza saw the frog suit-wearing cat and attempted to hug him, but, felt a hand on her shoulder. "Erza now's not the time," Lucy said chuckling sheepishly.

Luffy's group went along as so did Natsu's group, however, they forgot to keep the ropes tied to their bodies.

"You idiots, you forgot to tie the safety ropes to yourselves!" Nami and Lucy yelled comically.

The four male morons didn't hear, they focused on the sea monster.

"Brother Caribou!" A voice called out.

Caribou looked in the direction where the voice was coming from. "Brother Coribou, you and the others came for me!" He cried in tears of joy.

The four Straw Hat and Fairy Tail Pirates looked to where the Caribou Brothers were coming from.

"Looks the ghoul boys are back," Rogue said.

"Brother, we shall rescue you!" Coribou proclaimed.

However, one of Kraken's tentacles reached out and wrapped it around the galleon.

"STOP IT!" Caribou pleaded to see his ship being squeezed.

Too late, the galleon was crushed in half, startling Usopp, Chelsea, Happy, Lucy, Chopper, and Brook.

"It crushed that galleon in half!" Happy exclaimed.

"It was bigger than the Sunny too!" Usopp added.

"Talk about strength," Leone said observing the strength of the Kraken.

"Yes, one tight squeeze from one of those tentacles and we're goners," Miyaka agreed a little nervous.

"Not to mention it could crush us too," Akame commented.

The Caribou Brothers' were seemingly dead, motionless as they began to float away as their captain looked in despair. "No... they didn't make it..."

Some of the Fairy Tail wizards felt a bit sorry for the Wet-Haired pirate captain.

"They look like jellyfish," Gildart spoke.

"Damn it, "Shank's Lost Brother", that's cruel!" Caribou barked comically.

"Like yo have room to talk," Gray thought remembering how the Wet-Haired pirate tortured a wounded marine.

Kraken roared as it began to get closer to the two pirate ships.

"It's so huge even up close!" Chopper stated in shock.

"Right, let's fight!" Bickslow proclaimed as his dolls hovered behind him. "Babies, let's take this giant Octopus down, right babies!"

"Right! Right!" His dolls chanted.

"Line Formation!" His five dolls gathered in midair and then combined by standing on top of one another.

A large vertical crescent-shaped beam was released towards one of the Kraken's tentacles, seemingly cutting through its flesh.

"Now my turn, Open Gate the Archer!" Lucy proclaimed. "Sagittarius!"

A man in a horse-like costume appeared. "I'm here, Miss Lucy!" He saluted in another direction.

"Who is he saluting at?" Tigress questioned with a sweatdrop.

"Now Star Dress: Sagittarius Form!" Lucy's attire began to change into an outfit consisting of a twin-tailed coat and sleeves that leave the shoulders and the upper back bare. Her footwear was a pair of dark thigh-high boots with light trim at the top, which split above the knees to reveal the front of the thighs which were also donned. Her hairstyle was a typical ponytail with two bangs framing her face. In addition, Sagittarius's zodiac sign was on her left shoulder.

"What was that glowing light on the Fairy Tail's ship?" Nami wondered.

Sanji took out a telescope and saw Lucy in her outfit. "Wow, that's a sexy outfit!" He swooned in loverboy mode as his nose began to gush out blood.

Bonk

"Idiot, don't look!" Usopp yelled with shark teeth.

Brook took a look at Lucy's outfit through the telescope. "Wow, quite the outfit miss Lucy is wearing," His nose began to gush out blood a bit too.

Bonk Bonk

"Moron, not you too!" Nami yelled with shark teeth.

"Star Shot!" Lucy proclaimed firing homing arrows which exploded several of the Kraken's tentacles.

"Rrrgh!" The large Octopus roared in pain.

Franky was impressed by the display. "That girl's got some aiming."

Usopp huffed. "I could do that."

Natsu's hands were engulfed in flames. "My turn..." He inhaled his breath. "Fire Dragon's Roar!" He let out his fiery breath which was the top of the Kraken's head which made the creature back.

"Got ya!"

Luffy had stars in his eyes. "Wow, that was so cool!" His fire reminded him of Ace.

Gajeel did his trademark laugh. "I ain't going to let pyro get all the action..." He cracked his knuckles. "Iron Dragon's Roar!" He let out his Iron breath attack which the left side of the Kraken's face.

Another tentacle was coming down towards the Fairy Tail's ship. "Watch out!" Nami cried.

Levy made a few gestures with her fingers and a word appeared in front of her. "Solid Script: Bullet!" Large amounts of energy bullets came out of the word she wrote striking the Kraken's tentacle.

Rogue took a deep breath. "Shadow Dragon's Roar!" He unleashed his shadow breath attack which hit the top of the Kraken's head.

"My turn!" Sting took a deep breath too. "White Dragon's Holy Breath!" He unleashed his powerful breath attack hitting the previous part where his friend hit.

Despite the damage, the Kraken took, it was still ready to fight.

"We can protect the Water Fairy," Lucy said with a confident smile.

"That's right, we'll keep the ship covered," Levy agreed.

The other Fairy Tail wizards and their new friends agreed, each decided to take turns defending the ship without attacking at the same time, knowing the risk it might cause to the coating.

"Lucy, Levy, you two are amazing!" Sanji swooned with heart-shaped eyes.

"Pervert..." The two girls thought a bit weirded out.

Luffy turned in the direction toward the Kraken. "Well, it's my turn and I have a move to show," He put his thumb in his mouth and was grinning too. "Let's do this."

After escaping Caribou's pirate's assault, the famous pirates, assassins, and wizards come face to face with the legendary Kraken, some of the wizards were able to knock away the Kraken's attack, but, the legendary sea monster still wants to fight. The main question is will Fairy Tail and their friends along with the Straw Hats be able to get away, find out next time.
