Hey y'all! I love Pride & Prejudice and I had this thought in my head.
Summary: Completely AU! What if there were six Bennet girls and they already know Bingley and friends? What if Darcy had a twin? What if Lady Anne was still alive? Light to medium Mrs. Bennet bashing! The Darcy family may be a bit OOC for the time period, but I want to make them all loving. Lady Catherine is majorly OOC!
Warning: I am American, I may not get all the words right for England in the 1800s, but I will try.
Disclaimer: I don't own Pride & Prejudice! All I own are my OCs!
Mr. Thomas Bennet looked out at the scenery that passed as the carriage rolled through the countryside. His thoughts were interrupted by a small voice calling him, "Papa. How long until we get there?" He turned and faced his eldest daughter, "We are nearly there Jane dear. It should not be too long now." Another voice piped up with a question, "Who are we visiting again papa?" He looked at his third eldest, "We are visiting a good friend of mine named Mr. Darcy and his family, my dear Amber." The girl nodded and turned back to the book in her lap. Mr. Bennet looked at all of his daughters. Each girl was different even his twins. There was Jane, his blonde sweet girl, who never had a cross word for anyone. Next there was his twin girls, Elizabeth and Amber. The twins were identical in looks with dark hair and bright eyes, but their personalities differed. While both were clever and vivacious, Elizabeth was quicker to anger and Amber was quicker to forgive. Then there was his quiet Mary, with her dark hair and studious nature. She was his most serious daughter she was either always reading or playing the pianoforte, well trying to read and trying to play the pianoforte. Next was his artistic daughter Kitty. She was always drawing or sketching something, usually he couldn't tell what she was drawing, but he knew that she had skill. Finally, there was little Lydia, his youngest daughter. She was the one who looked the most like her mother, blonde hair and blue eyes. Lydia was the youngest, so all her sisters dote on her. She was her mother's favorite and she tried to push the other girls out of the way for Lydia but Mr. Bennet wouldn't let her.
He loved all his daughters and tried to make sure that none were treated differently than the others and that all of them would have a good head on their shoulders. His wife only cared about dresses and how to make them good matches. He did not see why the girls needed so many dresses and to worry about making a good match, Jane was only nine! Thomas was shaken from his thoughts upon hearing his daughter Kitty exclaim, "Look it's so pretty!" Looking out the window, he saw the grand house that was Pemberley. They had arrived.
THE BENNET GIRLS
Fitzwilliam Darcy was sat on the ground with his brother, sister, and cousins playing while the adults were talking to each other. They were waiting on a friend of his father's who was coming to visit with his children. They were also waiting on a business partner of his father's who was also bringing his children. He looked at his father, "Father what is the name of your friend that is coming?" Mr. George Darcy smiled at his son and heir, along with the rest of the children in the room before answering, "His name is Thomas Bennet. He owns an estate in Hertfordshire and we met in at when we were in school. He went Oxford while I went to Cambridge. We met at a bookshop and he did not hold my school against me and I did not hold his against him. He is bringing with him his six daughters."
Lady Anne Darcy reacted to her husband's explanation, "Six daughters?! Their poor mother, she must be exhausted. Is she coming as well?" The elder Darcy shook his head, "No dear. Bennet wrote that he wanted to give his wife a small break, so she is still at home." Lady Catherine De Burg looked at her brother in law and nodded her head, "That was kind of him. I'm sure it is tiring to look after six daughters even with a governess. I'm assuming she is coming as well?" Darcy shook his head, "No Bennet said that only the girls were coming with him, but he reassured me that the girls are well behaved."
Right at that moment the housekeeper entered the room, "Mr. Bingley, Mr. Bingley, Miss Bingley, Miss Bingley, and Miss Bingley, Sir." The elder Mr. Darcy nodded, "Thank you Mrs. Reynolds, please show them in." When the family of five entered the room, everyone stood and moved to stand in their family groups. George Darcy stepped forward to greet his business partner, "Bingley, it's nice to see you again." Johnathan Bingley returned the greeting, "It's good to see you as well Darcy. Let me introduce my children to you. This is my son Charles, my eldest daughter Louisa, and my twin daughters, Caroline and Emmaline. Children this is my business partner Mr. George Darcy." The children greeted him and Mr. Darcy returned their greeting, "It's nice to meet you children, let me introduce you to my family. This is my wife Anne, my eldest son Fitzwilliam, my second son Benjamin, and my daughter Georgianna. This here is my wife's sister Lady Catherine De Burg and her daughter Anne. Finally, this is my wife's brother Daniel Fitzwilliam, the Earl of Matlock, with his wife Constance, and his three sons, Andrew, Richard, and Leopold. You have actual come at a good time, a friend of mine is coming for a week visit and he is bringing his daughters."
Mr. Bingley nodded, "Yes, didn't you say that your friend Mr. Bennet wanted to speak with me?" Mr. Darcy nodded, but before he could respond Mrs. Reynolds came into the room and reported a carriage coming up the drive. Quickly, everyone moved out to the steps to greet their visitors. Mr. Darcy watched as the carriage pulled up to the front of the house and pulled to a stop. The Bennet family had arrived at Pemberley.
