Hey y'all! Here is the next chapter.
Here is a small bit of background on the timeline for before the story. So, Thomas Bennet is three years older than his sister Maria. He met George Darcy in London when they were eighteen. After graduating from Oxford at twenty-one he decided to forgo a trip to the continent so he could help his father at Longbourn. A couple weeks after he came back to Longbourn the compromise happened and he married Francine Gardiner. He decided to help his sister find a husband because he knew that his sister and wife would not get along at all. He asked George Darcy for help in finding his sister a husband. She married William Besser a couple of months after meeting him at the theatre in London. They moved to his estate near Scotland and come to visit every year.

Maria Besser could not sit still in the carriage as it approached Longbourn. Her husband shook his head with a slight smile on his face at the sight of his wife. He knew how she was feeling, he too could not wait to arrive at Longbourn. He had missed the family terribly and he knew his wife had especially missed the girls. The couple did not have any children of their own, so they both thought of the girls as their own. He reached to grip his wife's hand and gave it a small squeeze, "My love you need to calm down. We will reach Longbourn soon but we will not move faster with you moving around so." The woman blushed and looked at her lap, "You are right. I apologize my dear husband." The man simply smiled at his wife and shook his head in amusement.
At that moment the carriage pulled to a stop in front of Longbourn. After climbing down William turned to help his wife down the steps and faced the family. He could tell the girls were anxious to hug him and his wife but were restrained enough to give a proper greeting. After finishing the proper greeting, the girls launched themselves towards the couple. After exchanging hugs everyone moved into the house and into the sitting room.
Entering the sitting room, the Bennet girls sat on the lounges and Mr. Bennet directed his Mrs. Hill to show his sister and her husband to their room for them to freshen up and change. The older couple followed the housekeeper upstairs and the girls were left with their father and Miss Lowell who came into the room. Mr. Bennett faced the governess and addressed her, "Miss Lowell, I know I told you that the girls' lessons would be cancelled since my family is in town and I gave you the week off but I have a small favor to ask. Miss Lucas is about to make her entrance into society at the end of the week and I was wondering if you would practice with her one more time before the assembly. She is still nervous about the assembly. You can say no, but I figured I would make the request anyway." Miss Lowell was quick in her answer, "Of course I will Mr. Bennet. The poor girl must be so frightened. I remember when I first came out, I was so nervous that I was going to fall." She turned and faced the eldest girls, "Jane, Elizabeth, Amelia will one of you write to Miss Lucas and invite her over in the next few days?" Elizabeth nodded and said that she would write to her friend.
As Miss Lowell left the room, the Bessers entered and sat down across from their nieces. The group spoke of things that they had done over the past year and the girls filled their Aunt and Uncle in on their studies and the progress they had made throughout the year. Maria was happy about what her nieces were learning, she was proud of her brother for allowing the girls to learn what they wished instead of what is just proper.
*****Pride&Prejudice******
A few days later, Charlotte Lucas came to call upon the Bennet family. After receiving Elizabeth's letter a few days ago, she was relieved that Miss Lowell was going to help her a bit more. Mrs. Hill showed her into the music room where the Bennet girls were along with their father and a couple that Charlotte recognized as being the girls' aunt and uncle, and Miss Lowell. After being reintroduced to the couple and giving permission for the Bessers and Charlotte to call each other by their Christian name since they were going to be working closely with each other, Miss Lowell addressed the girl, "Alright Charlotte, the others have agreed to help today with your dancing lesson. I am going to be your partner for the dance while Elizabeth plays some music before one of her sisters take over. The group practiced for a few hours with different girls playing the pianoforte. Miss Lowell danced with Charlotte the entire time while Mr. Bennet and Mr. Besser danced with each of the Bennet sisters and Maria.
Before Charlotte left for the day Mr. Besser caught her attention, "My wife and I are going to be at the assembly this weekend. I know my brother told you that if you needed a break from another gentleman that he would dance with you. I am also making you that offer. I know being at an assembly can be overwhelming and sometime gentlemen can be overbearing. If you need to escape from a gentleman, you can just let the two of us know."
Charlotte nodded and accepted their offer, "I thank you both sirs." Charlotte was thankful for her friendship with the Bennets and for the help that they had given her over the years. She didn't know what was going to happen at her first assembly but she knew that she wasn't going to be alone. Her parents may have given up on her because she was plain but she still had people in her corner.
Hey y'all. I didn't know where this was going to go and it turned into this. Don't forget to review and tell me what you think please!
