Chapter 11 done and only 4 more ton go. Got to say, so far while this story wasn't the best, now working on them more carefully I can now have better ideas for the future. The next story arc should be more improve with Crash Bandicoot for everyone to enjoy. Plus the news with an actually Crash Bandicoot 4 with proper title and sequel can't wait.
Ultra battle99: I don't plan on quiting this story, I just have to tinker around some section to get it right. I will try and get X1999 to work somehow, but it will take time before it's anytime soon. For this crossover is actually the greatest challenge you provided.

Chapter 11: City of Apes - Swordsmen vs Heartless Boss
When last met Zoro, Auron, Leon and Cloud had defeated two heartless that gain some intelligence of their own. Yet in their defeat they are now being reformed into some now heartless. The heartless that stands before them is more taller then before, has one set of arms appearing as Smoke, another set with vines and flowers sprouting out on its limb, and violet armor combine with gray clothes. Along with it's body filled with violet armor mixed with gray clothes, the head has some helmet covering some smoke filled with yellow eyes, the heartless emblem is place on it's chest. It's name is Velvet Fog the combine might of both heartless after being defeated.
"How is it still alive?" Cloud asked frustrated by this thing.
"Probably because of how Specter has somehow experimented with heartless." Leon replied, not moment to soon as it reformed it swung one side arms towards them. Jumping away the group had to attack once more to defeat this thing. As they charge at this new heartless, Velvet Fog change into mist and started to leave the area, this left the group confused by its behavior.
"Did we just chase it out?" Cloud asked confused by its action.
"Being this intelligent, it must have other plans in mind." Auron pointed out knowing from experience despite the unusual case they are experiencing, that heartless always follow orders from someone stronger then them.
"Hey." Zoro shouted gaining everyone's attention, "When you find this keyhole is it usually somewhere you least expect it?" When Zoro asked this question they weren't too sure about if the keyhole is place somewhere hard to find or places they can be found.
Leon is first to reply, "They are usually at places that most people tend to not look-" Suddenly in his train of thought, Leon eyes widen at the possibly of what this heartless is after. Zoro and Leon look at each other having this sense of dread at their conclusion.
"Come on, follow that heartless." Cloud and Auron wanted to asked what's gotten into Leon, only for him to keep on running towards the direction of said heartless.
The Professor's Lab
All the heartless and monkeys started to retreated, why is anyone's guess. When many were have retreated everyone that has gathered are Merlin, Yuffie, Robin, Archimedes, Sanji, Luffy, Tifa, Chopper, Nami, Usopp, Aerith, Yuna, Rikka and Paine. Alongside them are the unconscious heroes consist of Pipotchi, Yumi, Kei, Jimmy, Helga, Pipo Snake, Spike and Jake all laying together resting. While everything has settled, some of them talk about what they experience, and what their mind controlled state revealed about the villains plans.
"Your telling me, Specter isn't in control of this battle." Yuffie said confused by this revelation.
"It appears so, those heartless minds have been smart enough that their using this opportunity to manipulate Specter into doing their bidding. He probably doesn't realize they are using him thanks to his new powers." Merlin concluded about the Freakish Ten's plans, but also what they will have to do next. People who have experience with the heartless are very nervous at an intelligent heartless, how much more damage they can do if they given an opportunity. Others like the Straw Hats are new to this sort of thing, but have some idea how dangerous they are by themselves or commanded.
"Yeah, I rather fight heartless that couldn't think for themselves. The Worlds will be at great danger if they manage to escape to other worlds." Everyone agreed with Tifa on that knowing that Heartless are not to be mess around.
"Shouldn't they have the ability to teleport to any world on their own, I mean that's how they invade worlds right?" Nami pointed out one of those monsters natural abilities.
"Maybe we're not looking at this from the right angle." Everyone look at Aerith when she started to explain, "I mean these guys are heartless given human intelligence, yet they don't know the basic abilities that allowed them to travel from world to world."
"Then did these guys forget?" Usopp question.
"No, more like they can't. Something else is going on here, and I can only guess they aren't working together as we thought." This made some nervous while others just stare in wonder. However none of them realize that Jake is slowly awakening, yet is being influence by Specter's power even after going unconscious, he then grab something from his pockets and used it for what purpose in mind.
Jungle Temple
The heartless reformed and then started to examine the temple. What it was looking for is unknown, but it knew the keyhole is somehow located in this temple or outside of it.
The keyhole is here, I can sense it.
But it's protected by this realm of light.
Must... have more time.
Then heartless began to appear consist of Crazy Ape, Big King, Mafiachimp, Gorobreak and Shadows. Once the heartless are given orders they went off in search of the group that will attack their leader. Some distance away the group manage to catch up with the heartless. But has stumbled upon heartless guarding the way.
"Time to clean up house." Leon launch himself towards the heartless, slashing them one after another. But had to dodge few times from the Mafiachimps that shot bullets at them. They were easily dispatch by Zoro who used his experience against people shooting bullets at him. Making quick work with them, Cloud being who he is slice them back and force too fast for them to react. Two Gorobreak went after Auron who used aero spells to blast himself up and dive down destroying two heartless instantly. The Group then move forward making quick work out of heartless one after another.
Eventually the group made their way towards the temple where the heartless is located. When they arrive Velvet Fog launch what appeared as smoke encircling them into some mist dome, this now prevented the group from escaping knowing they could be in for world of hurt.
"Zoro, now might be a good time to use that keyblade you got." Auron said, after examining the Keyblade trying to get some sense of it's power, Zoro then glance at Auron and nodded knowing what he must do. Auron then casted his strongest aero spell and blasted a hole through the fog.
"Leon, Cloud go with Zoro, I'll deal with these guys." Without questioning, both Leon and Cloud rush off with Zoro to attack the newly created heartless that will give them trouble. Once everyone escape, Auron prepared himself for anything the heartless might throw. That didn't take long as the mist somehow is created smoke like creatures with yellow eyes to attack Auron.
"So its going to be like that." Auron then used his aero magic and fused with his blade to create an wind blade. The first mist heartless launch itself at Auron, but is slice then its bubby tried to avenge their comrade by sneaking behind, however Auron knew this and slice another one. Soon more mist creatures began to appear, as Auron then move around slashing these being one after another trying to figure a way out. While he could do like before allowing everyone else to escape, there was no guarantee that would work twice. Plus his magic is running low so he'll have to conserve for the time being.
The Professor's Lab
While everyone is busy trying to stop Specter's Plan, Crimson Ninja had sneak in after hearing confirmation that Specter's new enforcers are defeated with only one that remained under his control. As he made his way there, he saw Jake is still conscious but has to pretend since he's laid close towards their enemies. But he did see Jake is using some device that allows him and his team to teleport to other locations, having some idea what is happening Crimson Ninja waited for his moment to strike.
As for everyone else, they had gathered together to relax and enjoy some of Sanji's cooking. The Committee would have to asked Sanji how does he cook such a great food, as they are discussing what they should do next. Currently they couldn't do anything without knowing who Specter is personally, what is his plans, how are these heartless are able to think and feel, mostly they couldn't attack their base knowing they had to make sure the monkeys aren't hurt while also destroying the heartless. For both groups this is first time fighting some animal like villain that wants ape domination around the world.
"Sanji More food!" Luffy shouted receiving a kick from Sanji, "You ate enough!"
"How does he eat so much is beyond me." Yuffie ate her food slowly while also trying not to be sick from watching Luffy devouring food.
"Luffy just has a big appetite, you be used to it." Robin said smiling.
"Well the boy needs to learn how to chew." Archimedes had what can be food made for owls, specially made from Sanji when Merlin asked to make something for his friend.
"Where is The Professor, Natalie and Aki? I hope they are alright." Chopper said worried for their new friends.
"Now that you mention it, they should have already arrive sometime ago." Usopp agreed with Chopper. As everyone talk to themselves, Jake slowly turned his body to point his teleportation device at the Straw Hats, the device he has is for emergency escape in case they had no powers left. Specter wanted them mind controlled, so he gave each of them one device for their escape. Jake reset the device to teleport everyone away to random location including space if necessary. Suddenly before pressing the device something blasted his arm releasing the device into pieces. Jake turn to see Merlin looking at his direction keeping his wand pointed at him.
"I wouldn't try that young man." Merlin warned Jake who look on with heated glare.
"Merlin, what are you doing?" Nami shouted.
"This lad is still under Specter's Control. This amount of control can only be done if someone is always under other's powers. I think he has been under Specter's control before, thanks to the darkness I believe this type of mind control can only be stop if Specter loses this power." Merlin explained.
"Oh so it's a mystery power." Luffy said.
"If only that were true." Merlin muttered with sweat drops at Luffy's simple nature.
"Maybe there is someway we can-" Before Aerith could do anything Crimson Ninja took this chance and summoned the heartless to attack. Little that did as those with great magic skill namely Aerith and Merlin blasted away the heartless that tried to attack them. Crimson Ninja knew they were powerful, so with ninja skill and powers of the darkness drag Jake away from the spot and transported them to Specter's Base.
"Who, this could be a problem." Archimedes comment.
Inner Temple
With no encounters from any heartless so far, the group work there way towards what appears like some ancient shine with many passages leading towards one pathway or another. More heartless started to appear trying to block their path from reaching further down the hallways.
"Not this time." Zoro used his newest weapon and launch a new technique.
Ittoryu: Net Slasher
The technique allowed Zoro's keyblade for this world to unleash its abilities. Using one sword technique combine with it transformed into an monkey net for capture, but is used in a way to destroy multiple heartless in front as both sword technique and net entangling them. Leon and Cloud are impress by Zoro's handle on the keyblade as if he had this weapon for sometime. Leon and Cloud then brought their swords back with one hand and used their other hand side by side and launch both Aero and Fire at the same time
Flame Twister
The combine magic is enough to blast the heartless into ashes, the attack is like average tornado but can be launch by any direction like some heat seeking missile and with Leon magic add fire as swirling vortex of flames. The Heartless inside and outside are blasted into pieces, but some are still around. The trio work there way to where the heartless can be assumed is located. Leon and Cloud then entered another room as more Heartless are waiting for them, behind them the doors slammed shut as Leon and Cloud prepared themselves.
"Looks like we're going to find another way." Leon said but is then asked by Cloud, "Hold it, where's Zoro?" After bringing this up Leon look around the room and realize what happen.
"You don't think?" Cloud then slice another Heartless as Leon followed along with his eyebrow twitching, "Yeah... I'm going to kill him."
Meanwhile at another part of the temple, "Did those idiots get lost again? I better head towards the heartless." As Zoro ran through the temple, more heartless appeared as annoyance to Zoro who needed to find that heartless immediately. When knowing each world can be destroyed by opening the keyhole, Zoro had to use his Keyblade and seal the keyhole to protect this world from heartless invasion.
Without realizing it, his keyblade change into Stun club. At the moment while finding the heartless does take priority, Zoro would be finding wave after wave of enemies until he would eventually find something. Right now is a good time for practice of his new weapon. he see about 50 some heartless with Shadows, Powerwild and Bouncywild
Ittoryu: Sakura Dancing Bloom
This attack is by far most powerful move on multiple enemies to Zoro's arsenal. It relies on using both speed and power, then dashing in superhuman speed to cut 20-30 times on multiple enemies including shockwaves by each swing. The Heartless couldn't withstand the power behind Zoro's strike as he cleaned house in one instant.
Zoro took the time to examine the keyblade changing back to normal form, "Your very handy aren't you? Some of that I feel belong to this world, which allows you to change form judging by the situation and desire." Zoro said to the keyblade, while it didn't say anything Zoro can tell this keyblade could feel how different he is to other wielders. Most wouldn't acknowledge the intelligence of their keyblade, more so as extension of their power from one wielder to another. Zoro had different relationship with his swords, due to him learning each sword's sense of aura and power behind them.
Zoto grin, "I don't know what you can do, but if plan being with the world's greatest swordsman, you better keep up." To another person they would Zoro is crazy, but to him and his swords he can sometimes tell their personality and behavior in battles. His two other blades have their own personality including his other before turned to rust. Suddenly more heartless started to appear, knowing this could be for awhile Zoro decide to go all out, having all three swords is always his best style. Suddenly the Keyblade change into boots, at first they don't seem impressive but Zoro felt some sort of power behind them.
"Alright, let's try it your way." Zoro would allow the keyblade to show itself. While its oddly strange for his own weapons to have some powers behind their personality and character. Zoro like the idea of having this kind of weapon, besides he might even aim for greatest Swordsman of all worlds.
The Professor's Lab
When they left Merlin and everyone had their guards up. Some heartless stayed after Merlin and Aerith's magic attack, finishing what remains of them the others have regain consciousness from their mind control state. Spike mostly groaned out of both exhaustion and embarrassment as he remembered what happen.
"Look who's up, you guys hungry?" Sanji walk towards them and place some plates in front. The smell along had everyone chow down and drooled at the delicious food Sanji made.
"This is so good, how did you make these?" Kei asked only for Spike to shout and grab the closest thing possible a broken pipe.
"Take this!" Spike shouted at Luffy, without looking actually caught Spike with his tail and flung him across the room towards the wall while Luffy is eating. Everyone stare at what they witness surprise by how Luffy didn't acknowledge Spike's sneak attack, "Sanji more food!" Luffy shouted, even though Sanji may yell and kick at Luffy who eating much he still makes more.
"Did that really just happen?" Yumi asked with some sweat at Spike's unimpressive display.
"Gah, alright." Spike charge once more only for Luffy's tail to grab Spike and toss him back and forth like some cartoon slapstick humor, then flung him once more towards the wall.
"I should be scolding Luffy who being rough, but I somehow can't find reason why?" Tifa muttered.
"Though he should take it easy on him." Usopp grimace from Spike's damage, yet the kid tried to get up only to fell forwards from all the damage he just received.
"Okay, your strong I give you that, BUT YOUR WON'T BRAINWASH MY FRIENDS AGAIN!" Everyone look at Spike and knew what he meant.
"Relax, Luffy okay. In fact I personally trained him myself, honestly he would be nice this way." Before Nami could get ideas Usopp shouted, "DON'T YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!"
"So who are you guys?" Kei asked.
"Perhaps we can explained that." Someone said, everyone turn to see what appears Cid and Franky joined together with The Professor carrying some cube object, Natalie and Aki are also behind.
"Cid, Franky your okay!" Luffy happily shouted.
"Yo, Straw Hat. Glad to see everyone is okay." Franky said.
"Looks like everyone is okay, and boy we have some information you might want to hear." Cid said to everyone.
"If we plan to stop Freakish Shadow 10, we must band together and stop those heartless before they consume this world." The professor said.
"I thought Specter's in charge?" Jimmy asked confused.
"That's we all thought, but thanks to our friend Casi we know the truth." Natalie had some small chip that you plug into computers, plugging to the nearest console that is operational, Casi appeared on screen.
Greetings everyone, sorry I couldn't provide assistance. And thank you Straw Hats and Committee for helping us even if we're strangers.
"No problem, we do this all the time." Yuna said smiling.
"You mean they do it." Archimedes corrected her as Rikka stuck her tongue at Archimedes.
Before we try and fight them, I have something to tell you guys. And this should help us defeat Freakish Shadow 10 and save Specter.
Final Room
Vevlet Fog had finally reach what appears like some area of secrets are buried. In this temple has some monkeys all over with gorillas to other types around the world. However from one image appeared like some keyhole, this seemed to be the only thing these ancient ruins shows. At the moment Velvet Fog knew it was around here, yet feels protected by some powerful force. Most likely the world's own defenses to prevent random people or monsters from finding this keyhole easily. The Room had a cylinder like in one big circle. The Center seemed to draw some attention from the Heartless knowing this could be where the Keyhole is located.
The Keyhole, with this we can escape this world and fulfill our own dark desires.
Ittoryu: 36 Pound Ho
Velvet turned around just to be hit by Zoro's attack as he stood with his Keyblade in one hand.
"Looks like I got here in time." Zoro draw his other two swords preparing himself his duel against the heartless.
YOU WILL NOT STOP US!
The heartless threw smoke surrounding the area clouding Zoro's vision. The Heartless then sent flower petals that change into flying blades towards Zoro, sensing this he block and dodge some of those blade from being slice into pieces. The Heartless then tried to smash Zoro, but dodge in the last second before the heartless could do anything to him. Then as Zoro ran towards the wall his keyblade change into boots as the heartless threw many petals at his direction. Just as Zoro ran all around he jump up and landed then moved before the heartless could attack. Having a clear shot the keyblade change back to Stun Club.
Santoryu: Falcon Slash
The attack almost shape like bird talons, striking at the Heartless main body but had little effect. Seeing this Zoro moved again as he had to dodge every strike from those attacks. The Heartless then floated in the air and brought the ceiling down but keeping them up midair. Knowing the heartless plan, Zoro then had his keyblade change into net.
Santoryu: Whip Slash
The Net from the keyblade split into different whip like ends, and used for a sword slash taking out all the debris. The Heartless had to be more creative combining both Air, Smoke and Rose petals and scattered them around. Unable to dodge Zoro could only endure what will come next. The entire room and the temple started to scattered into pieces as the debris flew out with vines bursting from the temple, with air and smoke blasting upward like some volcano. When it was done the heartless look around to see Zoro is protected by reflect spell by Cloud and Leon who manage to arrive with some help from Auron.
"What took you guys so long." Zoro received a smack behind his head by Leon, "YOUR THE ONE WHO GOT LOST!"
"Maybe instead of fighting each other we should focus on-" Auron is then interrupted by more air blast towards his way, but thanks to being familiar of air magic manage to block the flow with one sword end scattering the air around them.
"We need to finish this now! Zoro, you will deal the finishing blow, we'll used our special technique for this occasion." Cloud instructed Zoro.
"Been awhile since we used this technique with some keyblade wielders." Auron remark. Heartless is then blasted by Leon's strongest fire spell which hurt the heartless into a daze. Then the trio Swordsman used what magical energy to gather into their swords. Leon sword is then covered in not only flames, but also with high tense heat enough to melt any strong metal. Auron gathered all the wing to his blade almost like a cyclone, Cloud had electricity coursing to his blade.
Observing this Zoro smirk and comment, "I have got to learn that trick." The trio then went their separate ways with Cloud striking first.
Burst Thunder
The strike is strong enough to send real thunder shock through the Heartless unable to understand what happen. Leon then had his flame sword change like a flamethrower then swung like a blade.
Fire Strike
This attack cut right through the heartless to the point of splitting the body. Auron then jump charge at the heartless from behind.
Cyclone Spear
This had Auron jumping straight at his target like some spear throw. This did the trick as the heartless couldn't handle anymore with only Zoro ready to finish this fight.
Santoryu: 108 Pound Ho
This did it as the heartless is finally destroyed by their teamwork. As it started to vanish into nothing, the heartless heart split into two once more floating into the sky. With this the four swordsman relax knowing the battle is finally over.
"Now all we to do is seal the keyhole, and leave this place." Leon said as light shined in what remains of the temple, soon the room revealed the keyhole that is located in some underground zoo for monkeys. The floor showing the keyhole that Zoro must seal. Understanding the situation, Zoro walk towards the edge and raised the keyblade up high as beam of light shot up, then down to seal the keyhole.
"Good job, you have sealed the first keyhole. Now we have to somehow find our way back to the others before figure out what is going on." Auron said.
"That is if we know where." Before anyone could comment on Cloud, something felt weird with their bodies and suddenly vanish from the area.
The Professor's Lab
When they found sight again, the fours swordsman look around to see everyone in what remains of their ruin lab.
"I'm glad you can join us boys." Merlin said, but then Zoro is bash by Nami who punch him on his head. Same actually happen with Leon by Yuffie, Cloud by Tifa and Auron by Aerith who gave a slight bash.
"WHERE THE HECK HAVE YOU ALL BEEN!" Shouted Tifa, Yuffie and Nami.
"Blame your friend, he lead us some weird place we didn't know about." Leon pointed out.
"I EVEN TOLD YOU GUYS THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPEN, YET YOU JUST FOLLOWED HIS LEAD ANYWAY!" Nami scolded at Leon and Cloud.
"... Have to admit that is dumb on our part." Cloud Admitted their mistake.
"Still glad you guys are okay, I'll check your wounds for a moment. And don't think magic can solve everything, I'm still your doctor." Chopper reminded them, seeing they couldn't say no accepted Chopper's offer. While everything had been explained, they would then inform Zoro, Leon, Cloud and Auron what is going on and their next move.
One thing I do want with their experience together, is by the sequel story the Straw Hats will have more familiar sense with magic. This was always intended for this story to have the Straw Hats gain new experience and powers along the way. Although which one will have what magical powers is debatable at the moment.
