Dear Maria,

Looks like Pinkie and I are going to be sharing this diary from now on.

Yep! And today we're doing something extremely fun!

Firsts things first, though. We don't have to put this book in the machine to keep the portal to our worlds open.

Tails has managed to establish a stable connection through both worlds, so it can stay open 24/7! Shady even said he'll try to practice teleporting from his world to mine using his chaos control!

Yeah. So, today Pinkie wants to meet Omega.

Oooohhh, I'm so excited to visit Shady's world for the first time! Even if it's only his workspace. ^_^

I'm more than a little concerned that I have to bring her through the building. Pinkie, you owe me one.

Ha, if you say so!

Hopefully the trip won't be too boring for her. (I know it is for me sometimes.)

Oh It'll be fun, I know it!

Love,

Shadow

And Pinkie Pie!

...

Pinkie looked on in awe at the streets in front of them.

They were bustling with busy cars, buses, and bikes. The sidewalks were less busy, but still populated, mostly by humans.

Pinkie had seen humans before thanks to Maria, and was more than excited to meet some of them, as well as more Mobians.

Shadow and Pinkie Pie stood on the other side of the street from the G.U.N. HQ building. The building stretched high into the sky, and felt like it went on forever.

The buildings around it were smaller in size, but added to the atmosphere to the biggest street in Central City.

Shadow was anxious about this. He was hesitant about the idea of anyone coming into his workplace, but Pinkie pressured him into it. Curse her puppy dog eyes!

Some people on the street had stopped to stare at the pink mare, as they had never seen anything like her before.

"Now Pinkie, people have never seen somepony like you, so you're probably going to attract a lot more attention to yourself, even more than you do already."

The traffic slowly halted as the red light switched on.

"They are a lot different from the ponies you know in your world, so try keep your touchiness to yourself please."

The two walked across the crosswalk.

"And that includes objects. I don't feel like getting fired today."

Pinkie giggled. "I know Shady. I'll really really really try not to touch anything."

Shadow sighed with a smile, and rolled his eyes.

"Okay then."

They stopped in front of the doors. Shadow turned to Pinkie, and put a pass around her neck.

"I'm going to need you to wear this. They're really stingey about visitors. Fortunately, you're with me today, so you won't be kicked out if we go out of the visitor boundaries."

"Okie dokey lokey!"

Before heading in, Pinkie gave a gasp.

"I almost forgot!"

Pinkie reached into her mane and pulled out Shadow's inhibitor rings.

"You're probably going to need these back, since we're together again."

Shadow was pleasantly surprised. He didn't know she had carried them around with her. It actually warmed his heart that she was thinking of him so much during their time apart. Shadow grabbed his rings from her, and clicked them back onto his wrists. He nodded.

"Thank you."

Pinkie only beamed.

"Let's go!"

Shadow and Pinkie entered the building.

Many soliders stared at the pink pony as she trotted next to Shadow. Some started to whisper to each other, and Shadow took notice. He glanced at Pinkie. She was too excited to notice others' reactions to her. Shadow sighed, and they continued on.

"I'm only going to introduce you to Omega. He should be training in the armory today."

Pinkie was bouncing, being her normal self.

"I can't wait! I've never met a robot before!"

Shadow noticed that a small group were following them. They both stopped in front of two metal doors. "He's not just any regular robot though."

Pinkie squeed. "That just makes this even more exciting!"

Shadow aburptly gave a heavy sigh.

This was one of the things he had worried about.

He turned, and the group of men stood straight.

"She's with me. Now all of you, get back to work right now!"

The group of soilders jumped and slightly panicked, fanning out from the hallway.

"Do you really have to be this mean to others here?"

Shadow turned to Pinkie.

"As a commander, I must stand firm and stay strict on the lieutenants and soilders I train so they can stay focused, and ensure successful missions."

Pinkie giggled.

"Ooohh, of course! And that's also probably one of the reasons why you're more crabby around our friends!"

Shadow opened the metal doors.

"Exactly."

The training room was busy, with soilders lifting weights, practicing drills, and stealth training.

To the left of the facility, there was a shooting range set up so that no normal soldier could hit its multiple targets all at once.

The last remaining E-series robot, one of the smartest and shrude recruits. E-123 Omega was blasting away at the targets, a few people with clipboards taking notes as he did.

Shadow came to stand next to them, the 3 men not noticing the small hedgehog. Pinkie bounced up next to him, and was about to hop over to Omega when Shadow put an arm in front of her.

"Wait Pinkie. He needs to finish his assessment."

Shadow's voice startled the man next to him, and he glanced to see Shadow standing there.

The man also noticed the pink pony now next to Shadow, but said nothing as he was still recovering from his shock, and continuing to take notes on Omega.

Finally, Omega's arms lowered, and the 3 officers completed their observations. As they walked off, the one previously standing next to the ultimate lifeform whispered to the two. They all looked back at Pinkie.

Shadow glanced behind him, and saw the act. He gave them a glance of disappointment, but they saw one of anger. They quickly walked away, making sure not to look behind them again.

"Shadow."

Omega spoke and Shadow turned to him.

"Greetings Omega."

Pinkie stared at Omega in wonder.

Omega finally saw her. He turned slightly.

"You must be Shadow's romantic partner."

Pinkie giggled at the wording.

"Yes indeedy! Shadow's mentioned me to you?"

"I had never seen him cry that badly, or smile that big."

Pinkie looked to Shadow. He suddenly blushed, and glanced down.

Pinkie beamed.

"Well, I have that effect on him."

Pinkie turned her head back to Omega.

"I'm Pinkie Pie! Shadow told me you're Omega."

"That information is accurate."

Shadow observed that even though Omega wasn't expressive, Pinkie was still excited talking to him nonetheless.

Shadow smiled small, one of approval. It was cathartic to see them both getting along in their first meeting.

After they talked a bit, Omega noticed Shadow smiling at them. He raised his hand.

"Look. He's doing it again."

Pinkie turned, and Shadow rolled his eyes, still smiling ever so slightly. Pinkie giggled. She beamed at Omega.

"It was really fun meeting you Omega!"

"Likewise."

Omega pointed to her, talking to Shadow.

"She's good. I wish to conversate with her more in the future."

"And you probably will." Shadow answered, Pinkie bouncing over to him.

Shadow nodded to Omega, and the couple turned to walk out of the facility.

Pinkie skipped around Shadow. "So, what's next on the list Shady?"

"I really only took you here to meet Omega, Pinks." Shadow replied simply, opening the doors, letting them both out into the hallway.

"Awww, but I really wanted to see morrree!"

"Pinkie..." Shadow said sternly.

Pinkie walked in front of him, and pleaded with puppy dog eyes.

"Please Shadow, please?..."

Shadow tried to keep a straight face against the cuteness of the pink mare in front of him. This staring contest went on for a solid minute, before Shadow broke. He sighed, and reluctantly walked.

"Fine. You can come with me to my office. But that's it."

Pinkie grinned happily, satisfied with her victory.

She hugged Shadow tightly.

"Oh thank you, thank you, thank you Shady!"

Shadow blushed, and politely pushed her off.

"Pinkie, not in public!" He told her in a hushed voice, feeling many pairs of eyes on him now.

Pinkie giggled.

"You know I can't help it!"

Shadow exhaled heavily, and grabbed her hoof, before teleporting them both away.

They both appeared in an office. The room was a standard size for an office space.

The walls were a bluish off-white color, and had a few awards mounted on them.

There was one metal organizer to the left of the door, and next to that a small side table. On the right side of the room, was a bulletin board hanging on the hall, papers hanging on it. There were several small drawers under it, including a large comfy sofa. At the back of the room was a window out to the city. In the left corner, was a mini fridge. The right corner had a vase with a lavender plant growing in it.

In front of the window, was Shadow's desk, complete with a chair that you could move up and down. The papers on it were neatly organized into three piles. A couple of pens and pencils were also next to these papers.

Also on his desk, was a picture frame of Maria and Gerald Robotnik, but Pinkie had yet to see it as she let herself tour the room.

"Cool place! It's surprisingly spacious, even with all this stuff around!"

Shadow walked forward.

"Yeah. Surprisingly."

Pinkie bounced onto the sofa.

"It's awfully quiet in here though. You must must get pretty lonely."

Shadow turned to her.

"Often. But I always have Rouge coming around to talk with me."

Shadow walked up to her, and put a hand on her head.

"And I'm always looking forward to coming home to you."

Pinkie smiled, and Shadow moved his hand off her.

The head commander had suddenly appeared in the doorway.

"Shadow, I've been getting reports that you have an unoth-"

Shadow turned, and stood straight. The commander noticed the pink pony on his couch.

He looked at Shadow.

"Shadow, you better have a good explanation for this."

Shadow glanced at Pinkie, then the commander. He sighed with defeat.

"Sir, this is Pinkie Pie. She's.."

Pinkie decided to finish for him, and hopped off the couch.

"His girlfriend!"

Shadow's eyes went wide, and he suddenly blushed with embarrassment. He wasn't really prepared for her interjection.

The commander was surprised.

"You never told me that you had a girlfriend, Shadow."

Shadow's blush stayed on his face as he rubbed the back of his head.

"We met at that place I disappeared to a few months back. That other world."

The Commander blinked, and finally nodded.

"I see. She isn't a liability to this force, is she?"

Shadow had gotten over his embarrassment just enough to keep his arms by his side.

"No sir. She wouldn't really care about that anyway."

Pinkie decided to chime in.

"I asked Shady here to show me around where he works mister! That's all!"

The commander looked at the mare again.

"..Very well. Welcome to GUN, uh-"

"Pinkie. Pinkie Pie." Pinkie reminded him.

"Yes, Ms. Pie. As long as commander Shadow is here to watch you, you may be free to observe this facility."

Pinkie beamed, and nodded.

"Yes sir!"

Before leaving, the commander smirked at Shadow, making Shadow look down bashfully, and grumble.

"Take care Shadow."

The commander walked out, Shadow now fully embarrassed.

Pinkie laughed, making Shadow look at her.

She winked. "I embarrassed you didn't I?"

Shadow smiled in defeat.

"Yes. Yes you did. I just hope they don't start teasing me too."

Pinkie hugged him, Shadow returning it this time.

"Oh, they probably will."

That made Shadow laugh.

One of the only people in this building to make him laugh

Apologies for slowing down on my updates, I've been working on something new, and finishing something I started a long time ago. Also, it's been 5 years since I started this account. I have a story for my anniversary, I hope to get it out before the end of the year, but anyways, this will have to do for my 5th anniversary for now. Thank you to everyone who's stayed with me through the messy beginnings, and thank you to everyone reading this story so far. I'm greatful, I really am. Much love, and I'll write you later!
