Alright, I'm back and this story will be updated the most for this winter. As of now I am officially working on this chapter until springs as this has been delayed WAY too long. I had ideas before and I should stick with them. So, continuing the tread we are now working our way through the gem hunts. I'm going to try and make that short because there are many characters and plotlines that need to go through. So with that said this chapter will possibly be long as the rest from here on out.

Chapter 26: Spiral Madness - Gem Hunters I
Coco's Lab - Pirates and Committee
With only at least five new locations at the moment. Leon and Auron seems to have some private meetings with themselves, Cloud and Tifa are off on their own wanting to spend some time together in private, while those like Cid, Franky, and Coco are trying to help scan for more gems around the world. Yet there are times Coco wanted to check on other things including finding Cortex's hidden base of operation. The last one she asked for some help from anyone that could be tech savvy. Technically Franky is a shipwright, but when it came to technology, he seemed hook. The others are relaxing for a the time being like Usopp, Chopper and Crash having fun playing together. In fact, it was a nice change of pace for the bandicoot since he always has to work to fight Cortex and his allies. But with allies it felt like he could have free time for once. Which is took full advantage as he slept at some points when no one is watching or bothering him.
BOOM!
Although for some it was training for those needing familiarize to magic. Namely Robin and Nami as they are being referee by Merlin and Archimedes. Nami went off to strike with thunder attack, using her perfect Clima-tact as her rod to launch her magic. Robin however is proving to be monstrous in the battlefield of magic. Her own powers of sprouting arms seem to not only enhance her range of magic abilities but cast them more than one with somehow ridiculous number of magic points.
Fire-Blizzard Tempo
As the two are able to learn magic quickly. Nami started to combine her magic extremely well. She used this to create fog that should have blinded Robin to her attacks. Then with enough timing would then use thunder magic combine with her Perfect Clima-tact to enhance her already strong thunder magic or Clima-tact power.
Thundra Tempo
This is the enhance version of her thunder magic and power. The affects are actually devasting to the point of shocking the ground with electrical shockwave. Merlin and to use reflect magic to even defend himself and Archimedes from the strike.
"It never ceases to amaze me with their quick learning and abilities to adapt towards their own abilities combine with magic." Merlin comments as Nami tried to strike Robin, but then found herself dodge rolling as reflect spell seems harder for her to learn. The spell Robin is using appears to be blizzard spell as they are launch mostly at random direction as Robin hasn't caught sight of Nami yet.
"I'll say, it seems that their own abilities in the crew is what determines their magic powers." Archimedes added as he watched in amazement. Nami then tried to use aero magic to strike Robin, only to find she isn't there. Instead turned to find Robin place one hand in front of her with a spell in mind, but only smirk as Nami gave up knowing she couldn't win.
"I can mostly tell that those in the crew have potential. However, the only one that has me worried the most-"
"Is Usopp." Archimedes finished knowing what he is going to say, "It seems his magic doesn't always work, most likely because of his personality and nature of his character."
"On one hand Magic can be simplistic as they are used in battle. However, true wizards like myself have to know how to use the energy surrounding us, then convert that energy into magical power. There will be people that try to say magic is dumb and they aren't wrong. But I find that when you use small magic to at least help those with potential futures, it makes knowing the magic more worth it then just displaying power or superiority in your abilities." Merlin said as he watches the two talks for a bit.
"And what of some worlds with their magic communities?" Archimedes asked what is considered complicated topic.
"Well, that's for another thing all together. For now, we should prepare them for the future, I know that common pirates aren't seen in good light, yet every now and then you can find one crew that is greater than the rest." As Merlin said this, there is no doubt in his heart that somehow, they may be involved with more of this world and possibly the state of the universe at some point. It was a feeling he's having and no doubt this will come to pass.
Directionless Sword
N. Sanity - Zoro
When Zoro appeared, he is located towards the beach area just like Luffy. The only difference is the environment, while the last island where Luffy is currently gathering the silver/gray gems. This island is more so a skull on the mountains, this call could mean anything but for Zoro it's appear normal for him. After moving his arms around stretching, he looks around to see where he should headfirst. For the time being it seems he'll have to wonder around.
"Hold it mister." Rikka Said floating around his face showing surprise at her arrival.
"What are you doing here?!" Zoro exclaimed.
"Leon wanted to make sure you don't get lost." This made Zoro grumble at this annoyed that everyone thinks that he's lost when everyone else is always lost.
"Whatever, all I have to find is some gem, right?" Zoro asked knowing the answer.
"Yes, but-"
"And we came here to search for the gems, so how could I get lost when we clearly have no idea where the gems are located?" Zoro made his point, this made Rikka silent as she realizes they have no idea where to locate the gems, the irony of this is Zoro doesn't need to get lost when the gems are lost.
She didn't get to say anything as Zoro started to walk off without her. For some time, the two are walking around trying to find this gem, but so far, they have encountered many heartless in their path. Yet despite this, Zoro is able to slice them into dust without effort. Rikka watch with fright as she couldn't help admiring his strength. While they are walking through the woods, they had encountered many Heartless on their walk and so far, none had made Zoro actually take the fights seriously. Rikka could imagine him and Cloud being equally match if there wasn't for magic in play (Stop Magic from her mind).
"Say, do you know where the gem could be located?" Rikka asked.
"Who knows, I'm more interest in these heartless providing a challenge." Zoro once more cut another heartless without effort.
"What is with you and wanting to be stronger? I mean you're trying to become the Greatest Swordsmen in the world, but how does being strong help, even Cloud doesn't seek strength to win." Rikka asked curious about Zoro's background. From what she can gather so far, Zoro was someone that aim for the top. Yet most of the time it's about how strong he becomes to being world's greatest swordsmen. Added that Zoro can wield the keyblade place questions on how someone is worthy of such power only seeks strength and power in return. Many wielders of the keyblade will say it's the strength of one's heart, but for someone like Zoro... that's a different case.
"Your wrong, Cloud does seek strength but not the one I'm seeking." Zoro answered made Rikka confused by his way of logic.
"Cloud seeks the strength to protect what's important, that's his conviction he's place on himself." Zoro then pulled Wado Ichimonji staring at the blade while speaking to Rikka.
"When someone carries their sword, their conviction is revealed when crossing blades. Cloud conviction is great as he seeks strength through means of treasuring those around him. But my conviction is towards gaining strength becoming the world's greatest swordsmen. Once I traveled the seas in search of this man, yet my experience and hardship didn't match his own. Overtime all of us in the crew will do anything to protect our dreams, for if I can't make Luffy the King of the Pirates, then my dream is folly." Zoro said with resolve. Rikka looks at him with awe and respect, never realizing that this is what Zoro's true character. Yet at the same time from his explanation, he's also carrying the weight of something greater than his own swords. Something she didn't knew was the feeling of swordsmen.
"Hmm, so if yours and Cloud has their own conviction? What is Auron and Leon's?" Rikka asked now curious about the others two's inner strength.
"For Auron it's more towards guiding the next generation and give wisdom from experience. Leon however carries a burden, one place to lead his own crew from dangers and safety. Losing his home world might place more of a burden then before." Zoro answer then added, "But I don't like he's questioning our captain's decision. There may come a point where leadership will have to be determine by either respecting their ways of leading or deciding the fate of our two crews." The way Zoro warned gave Rikka shivers as she felt something bad might happen in the future.
As the two walks, Rikka couldn't help feeling Zoro is somehow making heartless slaying really easy. But then again when your aim is to defeat the current strongest, the expectation is much higher than before. Rikka could see Zoro training himself to the point of slicing the heartless down with only one swing, same can be said about the others as well from Leon, Cloud and Auron able to perform this feat. Their surroundings had many dangers and wonders that Rikka would sometimes stop to look, but then fly backs to Zoro as he's moving ahead without stopping. As they venture through the island, they came across some of the new robots that have tried to stop them. Yet once Zoro took action he rushed through them with some struggle, but they ended up the same. However, what happen next had Rikka stomp as they ended up in the same location again.
"Whelp we're lost." She spoke.
"No, we're not, It's the island that's messed up." Zoro said his reasoning.
"Okay, then lead the way." She told Zoro, both then went off to find themselves back to sqaure one once again. Seeing this she advises to make slash marks on the tree, this resulted in each tree being slashed to pieces. Rikka corrected Zoro as to instruct a small cut on the tree, that help somewhat as Zoro and Rikka seem to follow the trail, yet this failed as well as Zoro seemed to not only ignored or forgotten those marks but ended up landing back to where they are teleported as Rikka couldn't help realizing he's very clueless. Rikka then tried to have Zoro mark the ground, leading to large slash marks that could have cut the island in half if he was that crazy strong. What happens next is the same result as Zoro and Rikka ended up on the same end as well.
Now fed up with this ridiculousness actions that's been going on for at least 5 hours, she shouted at Zoro, "HOW IN THE NAME OF WORLDS ARE YOU THIS STUPID!"
"I'M NOT, ITS YOUR MARKS THAT CONFUSED ME!" Zoro argued back unable to realize his mistakes and weakness.
"WELL MAYBE IF YOU FOLLOWED MY DIRECTION, WE WOULDN'T BE STUCK HERE." Rikka pointed out only for Zoro to reply, "THAT ONLY GETS US LOST, the island no doubt has some magic to confuse us."
"YOUR THE ONE IS DIRECTIONLESS! YOU BE THE WORSE LEADER IF ANYONE HAD TO FOLLOW TOWARDS ANYWHERE!" Rikka shouted back.
"I KNOW WHERE I AM GOING, ITS THIS PLACE AND YOUR DIRECTION THAT IS LOST!" Zoro argued still shouting.
"HOW IS THAT MY FAULT!" Rikka demanded answers, but then heartless started appeared as Shadows, Totem Pillars, Soldiers, and Marck Intruders along with Lopez Robots as they attack Zoro. Fortunately, Zoro is too quick for them to strike, quickly making work of them he slashes through them like paper as the robots and heartless fell to his blade easily. It wasn't even 3 minutes when Zoro struck them down as he only held two swords in hand.
"Oh, sure you can swing your swords and you have no problem, but when its direction somehow your lost?!" Rikka complained.
"Would you shut up for a moment, I need to think!" Zoro exclaimed now focus on the enemies that may appear. Soon they started to walk once more as they had to keep on searching for the Gems, but what is concerning now is where they can find these gems and how they will have to face Cortex that seems to make a habit of world domination. Those question are right now burning in Rikka's mind as they have to work their way through the island.

Komodo Brothers - Deep Jungle
When they had arrived shortly after Zoro started to explore the island, they went on a gem hunt that had many Lopez's robotic army spread far wide. They then had more heartless join their ranks as they started to spread their forces far and wide.
"SSSSSSO, where do you sssssuppose this gem is located brother?" Komodo Joe asked his brother Moe, they are different by size and how they behave. Joe is more the leading brother as he's the clever one while his brother Moe is more so the muscular of the two, they are at least same in strength and abilities. They have talent in sword throwing, but rather they have talent in sword combat is up to debate. Currently they had only at least 2 Totem Pillars, 5 Double O' Gear surrounding the brothers, and 1 Mantis invented by the headless Lopez.
"I do not know brother. Perhaps we should let this SSSSSSSSwordsman lead us to this gem?" Komodo Moe suggested, unsure if that be the right call or not.
"Hmm, there is some merit to this idea. But first we sssssshould sssssssee what he's capable of doing? If only to assure our chances of victory against the unknown." Komodo Joe said, as they are walking, they soon encounter what appears to be some giant lake. This lake appears big enough to hold something deep within the waters. They had a quick look before one of Lopez's robots appears with what looks like clear gem in hand.
"This is one of the gems?" Moe asked grabbing the gem and examining it personally.
"Yes, it is. Although it sssssssseems more like the clear gems, that Bandicoot would collect in his adventures." Joe informed his brother.
"Then we have accomplished our goal, let us return back and hunt the swordsman." Moe said, waiting in anticipation for their next fight.
"Not ssssssso fast brother. Even though we will fight the swordsman, there are other gems to be hunted down. The problem now is where do we locate the ssssswordsman on this island." As Joe explained this, both are unaware of some creature rising from the deep. The creature in question only revealed its eyes and shot one of its tentacles at them. Unable to sense this surprise attack, both are shoved back as the heartless are powerless to defeat this monster, even the mantis getting couple of shots in didn't make much damage except for pain as it grabbed the machine and destroyed it. The Komodo Brothers got up and moved away far enough to see the deep lake monsters dive back down again. As it vanished, the two soon look at each other, look towards the gem and face each other grinning as both thought of the same thing.

2 Hours Later - Deep Jungle Lake
As Zoro and Rikka keep on going random direction, she ended up leading Zoro the way as she drags him by the ear. This causes some problems between the two of them as Zoro unable sense of direction has led him toward the same spot every time or just completely random direction. While for Rikka she wouldn't know better as while watching Zoro, it appears more like she's as lost much as he is only with common sense to admit this problem.
"Ugh, I can't believe we haven't found anything except those stupid machines and monsters. I could have sworn there was also some mutated creatures we have encountered on this island." Rikka said.
"Would you shut up for one moment, we just need to find ourselves gems. Not like we are seeking buried treasures or anything." Zoro sarcastically said.
"Oh, you would love that wouldn't you?" Rikka stated as fact since he's a pirate.
"That be more Luffy, since he like going on adventures. I wouldn't be surprised he doesn't find treasure unlike that witch." When Zoro mention of Nami as some witch, Rikka couldn't help wondering what he has against her. But then again if Zoro was by chance leader of his own pirate crew his goal would be different than what dynamic they are doing now. For what she has seen so far, the Straw Hats are more fun loving then anything with some exceptions like Zoro's stern attitude, Sanji mixer of lust for women, gentlemen personality with cooking still and very dangerous material arts, the latter is more confusing. Usopp's coward nature, Franky's extreme with no pants policy, Nami's obsession with money, Robin's desire to know history, and Luffy's sense of Adventure.
As she thought of this stuff, she saw Zoro moving away from her, "HOLD IT!" She shouted, flying towards Zoro and dragging him by the ear. Eventually they made their way towards some lake that is very big despite it isolated from many creatures. From what is being seen are some wooden planks that have docks to get onto small boats. There is a river that flows outside the lake in one direction, but most of all the entire lake is mostly deserted as no one or creature seems interest in this place.
"This... doesn't feel right." Rikka said uncertain of this place. Zoro kept quiet as he felt something was wrong as well, examining the place Zoro soon spotted in the middle of the lake some sort of box carrying what's shiny at the center.
"Is that... a gem?" Rikka muttered, trying to look from her location. She would then attempt to fly closer if not for Zoro grabbing her body and holding her back, "HEY! Let go!" Rikka Exclaimed in surprise and anger for his hold.
"Hold on, something's not right." Zoro warned, trying to see what's the catch. While he may not be the brightest Straw Hat of the crew, he is more so the muscle and serious one as Luffy's right hand man, always being on alert where his captain fails to see things clearly. That thought had reminded Zoro of their adventure of Water Seven, while it's in the past their newest adventure is so far taking them on worlds, they never would have thought possible. Their last fight with CP9 that involve rescuing their friend Robin, most of the crew know doubt are remembering their last adventure since being on these worlds is strange, yet interesting experience.
"I don't care if something is wrong, we should at least take a look." Rikka said arguing her point.
"Look, I'm not saying you can't, but if there is something wrong you be too weak to defend yourself. If anything, happen you be killed easily." Zoro pointed out, but that only flustered at Zoro's statement of calling her weak. Truly she isn't the fighter or magic user as her size and lack of practice makes her weak, but the fact someone who's supposed to be your new friend is insulting your weakness isn't something everyone should say bluntly.
"You're a Bully!" Rikka exclaimed biting into Zoro's hand as he released her while she flew towards the box. As Zoro grumbled, something happened in the waters as when she was close towards the Box. A Large tentacle launches her up alongside the box, screaming in fear as she tried to pull the gem out. But then some creature revealed itself as it slowly surfaces for everyone to see. It was some mutated fish with six tentacles as legs. This mutated creature is called Louise.
"Ah! Help!" She shouted in fear, trying to fly away one tentacle grabbed her body as it was dragging her towards the mouth. She could only look in fear and despair as she only muttered words for someone to help.
Ittoryu: Oni-Cutter
When Zoro used his swords, he sliced off Louise tentacles that held the box and Rikka. But then slash across Louise forehead in what appears to be triangle like attack, each tentacle has been sliced off when Zoro cut the mutated monster's limbs and head in less than 3 seconds. Louise screams in pain as some blood spilled from the Monster's tentacles. At the same time, Zoro used the distraction to jump around and return back to land with both Rikka and the box holding the gem inside.
"I told you your weak." Rather she heard this or not, Rikka wouldn't react to his harsh comment. Because at that moment she truly thought that was it, but when Zoro saved her and made sure she was alright she couldn't help shedding some tears as she felt fearful and needed comfort.
"YOU JERK!" She shouted, holding onto his face as she wouldn't let him go easily. Nevertheless, she is thankful and grateful for what he did and is feeling sorrier for being harsh on him. As for Louise, it couldn't help but cry as the mean man cut its limbs off. When comparing to Crash at least no limb was cut off or felt pain like this. Okay maybe some pain since Crash is trying to save the world, but the pain now is lasting. Turning to see the mean swordsman, the mutated fish roared in rage and darkness started to spread quickly on the body. This shock Zoro and Rikka as the two couldn't help wondering what's happening.
"W-What the...?!" Rikka could mutter as she straight herself up floating around Zoro's head
For the mutate Louise it was feeling the body change into something twisted then before. As the tentacles are grown back, it started to mutate as the limbs are given sentient as some mouth began to form at the end, as this mouth is covered by five more tentacles protecting the mouth, each of them gained another sentient as they formed some worm like monsters with legs similar to centipede or any insect legs with pointed ends, yet in this case Zoro figure it was blades being formed through mutation and darkness combine. The sections on each tentacle grew small yet noticeable sharp teeth that could be seen as young cat or puppy teeth if they didn't have the ability to shred flesh and bone. Then finally the last change is the head is forcibly straightened upward as the puggy part of the body and head is stretch forward making it look like some barracuda and eel like body as teeth sharpen almost appear thousands in the mouth. The eyes became slit and the body change from light pink and purple to dark blue and onyx like stripes that cover the head and body towards the tentacles. Throughout the process Louise felt pain that tore it apart inside and out, this process hasn't been felt since Cortex mutated this poor creature, yet now this feeling is enhanced and enraging the creature into something fearsome.
With this final change the once Louise is now converted into something much darker than before, now it's change into Ruddy (Yeah, I know name sucks). Normally the smartest decision of this situation would have been to shoot or kill it before the transformation. Yet sometimes that's not the options as there are times attacking someone in that transformation would have dire consequences, but for this case it was more curious nature despite the danger. Humans have to see what this unknown is to understand what is dangerous or safe. This caution attitude has to be ingrained in order to process information correctly or at least know what you're dealing with that time. If your first option is to attack everything that is unknown, then your foolish and incapable for doing anything responsible, because sometimes you have to let things play out to understand situations properly. Rikka and Zoro took this caution rather it was wisely or foolish wasn't the point, because if they attack without fully understanding what's happening Zoro could have been killed or worse. Now seeing the big picture, you can gauge your action and know for next time.
"Z-Z-Zoro." Rikka started to be fearful of this new entity. While she is scared out of her mind, Zoro prepared himself as he draws his two-swords for combat. Ruddy is now standing straight up like some dark tower with its tentacles still in the waters.
"Rikka, take the gem and go." Zoro ordered; without hesitation she flew off with the gem even at a slow pace. But before she could one of the tentacles tried to eat Rikka. Yet before this happened Zoro knock the worm tentacle away from Rikka, but in doing this revealed that the tentacle is now harden skin as Zoro's strike didn't do much.
"Feel like that time with Daz Bones." Zoro comment. Taking its focus on Zoro, it did something surprising as water jets blasted out of its mouth towards Zoro. Realizing the danger, Zoro tried to escape only to manage to avoid direct blast but is then pushed by the water blast that seem to consume the jungle trees being pushed back by its water jets. Zoro held onto his swords as the water toss him around as he's being dragged around. But once he used on sword to stab onto a tree to prevent himself from being drag in the current. Zoro place back his sword back once more now carrying the Sandai Kitetsu. But once again unexpected things happen as the tree started to fall down pulled by the water jets as Ruddy seems to have more power than before. When this was finished, Ruddy followed where Zoro's being pulled as it seeks him as prey.
Meanwhile Zoro is being pulled towards the river where he's holding for dear life, afterwards the remaining waters are then dragged Zoro through the river path, where this lead is anyone's guess. But what is worrisome is where the beast is located.
"That thing is powerful." Zoro thought, as he straightens himself up. He then draws upon the keyblade he had on the other world. With Light Stunner in hand and drawing his other sword, Zoro prepared himself to fight against thsi creature as he stood on some tree logs that is shaking while the mutant creature reappeared behind him along with the water current.
"Alright, this is your chance to prove yourself." Zoro said. As he prepared for combat, Zoro is the first to charge regardless of how shaky the current is making his path. Trying to hold his footing while he ran. Zoro had quickly made contact with Ruddy as it launch its tentacles at him. While Zoro is not used to the powers of the Keyblade, he is going to somehow adapt to its powers. Avoiding the first attack, Zoro jump in midair as the Light Stunner change into stick form for this attack.
Santoryu: Bull Ogre: Brave Claw
This immediately hit the second Tentacle that is being used to attack. Ruddy then used all the tentacles as it charges forth towards Zoro in midair but luckily, he blocks some of the attacks as Zoro is pushed back. Unable to land properly on the logs, Zoro instead cut the log he would have slammed against, sinking into the waters as he twists and turn to escape underwater. When he resurfaces, he had to duck once more as he held his breath once more. Avoiding Ruddy's attacks and logs that would have crushed him if the current didn't pull him along. Avoiding the rocks as best he could, Zoro resurfaced once more and climbed. While underwater he released his keyblade and held his two swords trying to gain some air. Now that they reach the bottom where the currents have calm down, Zoro quickly got back up also avoiding some sea creatures that tried to eat him. Growled for a moment Zoro stood as the currents are stilled after finally reaching certain point.
"Tch, this is annoying." Zoro place his sword back into his mouth while resummoned his keyblade Light Stunner once more.
"Till not able to understand you or the keyblade." Zoro muttered to himself as he then looks back at the keyblade, "I don't know why you chose me, but I intend on mastering you." With that declaration, ruddy came around as this time there is an even playing field. The water current still flowing but calm down instead of rushing waters and rocks.
"Now let's try this again." Zoro said preparing himself. Ruddy deciding to use its entire body as it jumps through the air and plan on swallowing Zoro whole.
Santoryu: Dragon Twister
This shock Ruddy as it couldn't do anything except being tossed aside as the skin is able to endure Zoro's cutting attacks.
"The skin is too dense." Zoro realize if he didn't used all what he got, then that monster will kill him before he could do anything. As Ruddy reappeared, it used the jet water attack. Unable to dodge, Zoro brace himself as he places his sword and keyblade in X form along with his sword in the mouth in hopes to block the attack. But that lead to Zoro blasted into the river waters and slam his back against the bottom as he slammed hard feeling great pain and releasing the Wado Ichimonji in the river. Regaining conscious, Zoro quickly swam back up as he took deep breath of air as he climbed up. Or at least attempt as Ruddy quickly came towards his direction, Zoro held his breath and swam under. Able to avoid the tentacle Zoro quickly moved as he place his Sandai Kiestu back, realizing his other sword is being tossed aside. Just as Zoro was about to swim for his sword, he recalls his keyblade and prevented himself from being eaten as he places his keyblade between Ruddy's teeth. As he resurfaced, both of them struggle to either avoid being eaten or eat the prey. Ruddy then used its tentacle to try and grab Zoro, only for him to release his keyblade as it places one tentacle in the mouth and accidently bite it off.
Causing great pain Zoro focus on regaining his sword as he quickly did, fortunate that this didn't happen during the wild ride. Once he regained his balance and awareness, he knew that this monster has to be taken down by one strong attack. Maintaining his focus, he soon used his one sword that cut any strong metal in pieces. Ruddy regain focus and glared at Zoro ready to kill him once and for all.
Ittoryu Iai: Lion Song
In one quick move, Zoro quickly moved behind the monster and left one large cut on the right side. From the eye towards the tentacle end. Blood spilled on its side as its eyes clouded into shock and loudly roared in pain. Zoro having finished his attack wasn't too certain if this was enough, so he turned to prepared himself in case something happens. But in surprise Ruddy ran off as the throbbing pain was too great to bear.
"ZORO!" Rikka shouted flying towards him as she appeared worried.
"Oh, Thank goodness you're alright. I thought that thing killed you." Rikka said concern for him.
"Nah, I won't go down that easy. Did you get the gem?" Zoro asked but didn't realize that Rikka has been carrying the gem the whole time, "Oh."
"Yeah, I wouldn't let this go genius. Besides, I'm more concern for you instead of the gem. That was actually terrifying, I mean I know the guys talk about people using the darkness before, but I haven't seen the darkness mutate some poor animal before." Rikka couldn't help express worry over this new discovery.
"So that's new?" Zoro asked knowing the answer.
"It is, and I can't help feel that wasn't the only thing we may face." Rikka is right to worry as the darkness so far on two worlds has been changed. The conflict between light and darkness isn't always clear as black and white. However, the term complication is another story. With the darkness it seems to always find new shape and forms to combat the light, thankfully the powers of light didn't always have to change form or guardians to protect the realm of light. If place in a scenario where both armies of light and darkness gathered their forces. The manifestation of both forces would be clear as dawn as more so light army would have mainly people and powers with few exceptions. Yet forces of darkness would always have greater number of monsters and people abusing the powers. With this event happening, the forces of darkness are beginning to appear more powerful than before as those protecting the light are powerless to witness new forces being created.
Cortex Base - Meeting Room
The Metal Army members have gathered together for a private meeting about the current issue. Mostly these pirates, while the back of their minds they are sure these pirates will be easy to defeat. The display they are watching changes their thoughts into caution and heated glare at them. They watch Zoro display power that is unseen and felt he's one of the more dangerous individuals they have to watch.
"Hmm, how did this human manage to defeat one of those mutated creatures. It shouldn't be possible, let alone cut that mutated fish with its armored skin." Zim stated his confusion trying to think and take this seriously for once.
"I knew you guys are going to lose." Gir said still being himself while he ate more tacos and hamburgers.
"What I want to know is how that mutated fish change form after this swordsman confronted this mutant?" O'Malley said puzzled by this display of power and fight.
"I can only think of the darkness used to power the mutant. Most times this wouldn't happen because the world we visit don't know much about the darkness and light, the only thing I can think about is when we came to this world with the heartless, those that harbor darkness can now access its power." Pete said, concluding that meddling in the world order is what cause this mutate to gain access to darkness and affect the mutation as well.
"So, our interference not only gave powers of darkness, but this mutation is cause by darkness to those already been mutated. If that is the case, then our allies could turn on us and go berserk when the darkness consumes them. Since most of Cortex's allies are mutants or scientist, we should warn them in case something happens." Dr. Nefarious said pondering at this new development.
"You seem to be taking this with caution, sir?" Which isn't a bad thing, but Lawrance find it out of character for someone like him.
"Your right Lawrance, because I am taking things more seriously. No doubt all of us here have experience defeat so many times, its uncommon for us to have any real victory over those heroes. Which is why out of desperation I am going to retrain myself from the usual antics. Because for once, we are going to finally gain a victory over those that oppose us." Dr. Nefarious declared, the others just nodded and agreed with the good doctor.
"I'm actually glad you're taking this seriously for once despite having some... quirk as it were." Lawrance implied.
"Yeah well, when this machine is built that planet filled with quirks is our first target. For now, we should focus on this world, how is the progress of obtain the metals and crystals?" Dr. Nefarious asked.
"The metal parts are fine, but the power source I can't say much. When asking Uka Uka he said that his brother hid the crystals where they couldn't be found. Even though they are supposed to be gone, the crystals are still active. That means wherever they are located we would have to search high and low to find them." Lawrence explained.
"Then some of us should at least search for the crystals. If those bandicoots are looking for Gems, we should do the same as well." O'Malley suggest.
"Yes, but before we do that, I think we need to make some call for potential... allies as it were." What Dr. Nefarious has planned can't be good as somewhere in outer space among the stars and worlds is someone waiting to have their reunion once more.
Dragon's treasure
Former Cortex Island - Spyro
Once Spyro arrived at the abandon base of Cortex, for the young dragon and dragonfly it was new to see the machinery and how all this stuff is from a world that magic isn't common nor is dragons like him. Spyro walk in silence as he explored the place, finding that its truly abandon after Coco explained that Crash defeated Cortex for the first time around. Wondering just what he'll do in order to return back, the burning question that lingers is... what happening to his world. Honestly its terrifying for couple of reasons. But he can think of some that are lingering in his mind.
The first being how these guys manage to travel to other worlds, but more importantly who is responsible for those heartless to appear on his world. Those dark creatures only purpose is to steal hearts from others and take make more of themselves. That in of itself has Spyro worried the most. If anything, while he's stuck here the world and the realms could have been dying out or worse. The only thing he can do now is work with the others. Sparx tried to make small conversation only Spyro knew, but with no success as Spyro seem more focus on laidback.
"Sorry Sparx, I guess I'm worried for the others. After arriving on this world, you would have thought there be some excitement exploring the world. But after being sent here knowing that two of our worlds is being attack by people, we fought in the past working together. I can't help wondering what is happening now. I mean our world for all we know is consumed into darkness." Spyro said, having some small talk with the Committee who seemed more knowledgeable about what is happening.
The two started to walk further down as they explore what was once someone's lair. They couldn't help but be awed and at the same time cautions in case something happens. As they climbed, they have found what appears be some empty rooms and possibly treasure. Sparx being able to carry gems had help find at least two clear gems as they walked. This was easy for Spyro since he didn't need to carry these clear gems in his mouth, instead had to make sure Sprax is alright as he took in the gems. Yet little did the two know they are being watched by someone or something as it climbed on the walls and avoided being seen in the light.
As Spryo went higher up, he soon is greeted to a hallway that shows at least 20 doors, 10 doors on both sides as they face each other on both ends.
"Seems like another dead end, but we should at least make sure we have all the gems." Spyro said, wanting to check out all the rooms. But before he could someone came from above and tried to crush him from above. This came as Tiny appeared and ready to pounce Spyro but missed when he jumps forward and turned around in time to see Tiny ready himself.
"Little Dragon somehow escape me just as Crash, but Tiny will make sure you are crushed underneath my fist." As Tiny charge, Spyro wasted no time and shot his fire balls at Tiny, this only irritated Tiny as he was blinded by the surprised him while charging aimlessly behind Spyro. Yet when he regained sight Spyro came charging with horns pointed in front as they connected behind Tiny's butt as he jumps in pain, when falling he slammed on his hand covering his butt. When he got up Tiny look at his hand and shake it off feeling the pulsing beat of his hands.
"Grrrrr, Tiny don't like little dragon attacking from behind. That Bandicoot is always sneaky and fighting dirty, so now Tiny crush you good!" Tiny shouted as he exclaimed. Soon Tiny tried to attack Spyro, but then they are interrupted by someone or something else appearing. When it landed, Tiny fell back on his butt as he looks up for once. Spyro did the same as they saw what can be describe as some gorilla with the exception of some scorpion tail. It has dark purple fur all over the body with some pink hands. But what stands out the most is the metal covering its body along with some neon green on some parts including its left hand. This creature is called Scorporilla, and from the looks of it appears to be angry at the two of them as it glances from Tiny to Spyro.
"Grrr, Tiny will not stand for this, Tiny will destroy Gorilla." When Tiny tried to get up as he felt anger that someone interfere with his fight, he is then grabbed by Scorporilla and thrown pretty far as tiny fell where Spyro came falling on the stairway with many grunts and pains falling down. This would have been comedic if Spyro wasn't afraid or more so cautious around this new creature. So, he does what he does best, fire at it using his fire attack. Unfortunately, this only enraged the creature as it seems unfazed by his attacks.
"Okay, not the best idea I had." Then Scorproilla express itself roaring at Spyro with some spit covering his face," Okay Eww." Then he ran for his left as he tried to move away to use something else. But that only irritated the beast as it jumps over Spyro and landed at the only exit outside the stairway. This didn't bother Spyro as he would have charge at anyone that got in his way. However, some enemies he couldn't really hurt as this was no different. Feeling dumb as Spyro shook off this feeling but is then grabbed by Scorproilla and slammed against the wall, crumbling by the force of its throw and Spyro used as some baseball bat. Spyro rolled around in pain as he tried to regain his senses once he stops and stood up. Sprax is change into green showing the damage was too great, but then he couldn't rest as Scorporilla came after him.
Unable to fight without knowing its weakness, he decided to run for the time being. Running for his life, Spyro had to avoid much of what's in his way as the hallways had some twist and turns ahead. As he ran for his life the hallway had some traps in store for him, some ranging to fireballs, sawblades, spears that seemed to pop out, trap doors underneath, and the occasional darts from the wall. Luckily for him, he's as agile as Crash. The only problem is he has to move on all four legs while Crash ran on two legs. The traps no doubt as more people in mind instead of traps for dragons.
"This is ridiculous, how are these traps activated after abandoned?" Spyro complained, only to be reminded by Sparx that the creature is still behind him. It jumps around the walls as it chased Spyro all around, avoiding the traps and once awhile used its tail to shoot some green substance it seems to have acid somehow. Once Spyro reach what appears to be crossroad of any of the three paths. Spyro turned towards his left while in charge mode to keep his running speed max. Yet this time it appears the traps aren't around here. This made Spyro stop in his run and turned around to face this creature.
"Okay, if fire isn't the answer. I guess I will use every breath I have learned over the years." Spyro muttered. Once Scorporilla appeared, Spyro aimed and fire his lightning breath, striking quickly and affecting it as the metal caused great pain for it. Getting back up Scorporilla then ran forward only for a short while as its hand glowed and ground pound shockwaves to stir up the playing field. Quickly jumped in time, Spyro went to attack with his lightning breath, but is proving more difficult as Scorporilla learned quickly of his attack. It jumped onto the wall and continued this action as it avoided his lightning strikes, this only lasted when scorporilla is close enough to jump overhead after Spyro missed two more times.
Seeing its overhead, Spyro had to move forward and avoid another ground pound this time causing ground and air, forcing Spyro back as he couldn't avoid the attack. This time Sparx didn't change color, but it was close enough to know that Spyro couldn't afford to be reckless. Socrporilla had jump once more as the ground underneath fell into pieces, Spyro quickly recovered and escape towards the other side, only to still be out of breath and weaken by its attacks. Changing tactics, Spyro used his ice breath to freeze the part where it was jumping on as it slips and fell hard on the ground, but still getting up regardless of Spyro's efforts.
"As much as I like to fight, I feel we need to escape." Spyro said, nodding in agreement Sparx followed behind as the two quickly made their escape. Scorporilla had gotten up and has saw Spyro escape through another crossroad. This time going right instead of left. Chasing behind Spyro had used one of the doors to hide himself that's been open. Fortunately, it didn't see him hide and ran past him, now relax Spyro got out and wondered what that thing is, Sparx buzzed some more as if questioning his actions.
"I panic okay. That thing came out of nowhere and I didn't have time to think about it." Just as Spyro said this, he sighs realizing he chicken out in some fight.
"I must be out of practice to run away like that." Spyro said, his friend Sparx tried to be supporting as he buzzed letting Spyro know they all make mistakes.
"Yeah, your right. But we should look for all the gems, this place is actually creepy with two guys we need to worry about." Spyro said, walking away from where Scorporilla went off to find the gems once more. But that thought ended quickly as the creature returned for another round. Scorporilla appeared pounding the ground as this knock Spyro back once more towards where he was before. Spyro got up in time to see acid being shot towards him, he used his dragon shields to protect himself. Fortunate enough they are stronger than acid, yet the pain is greater than his defense.
After it was done shooting acid. Spyro quickly shot his wings with some ice to cool himself off but had to move just in time as Scorporilla run straight for Spyro trying to crush him. In only couple of seconds Spyro charge and moved away in time as Scorporilla tried to smash him. But is then splash by Spyro water breath, then switch into ice breath as this froze Scorporilla in place. With that done, Spyro then ran away for a moment only to stop for a second to build himself a ramp by using his ice to freeze some of the bricks that are stack together. With Scorporilla's strength it causes some of the building to fall apart, once his ramp is finished Spyro ran far back as he could since he made sure the ice breath froze Scorporilla good. Once he's far enough he ran towards Scorporilla who already broke free from the ice prison with some minor problems as the metal parts of the body have malfunction causing pain to its internal body. When Spyro finally reach the ramp in seconds, he jumps and headbutt Scorporilla with enough force to slam onto its forehead. The amount of pain being surge from its robotic parts malfunction and headbutt slammed into its forehead cause Scorporilla to fall unconscious as it slides backwards for at least 30 feet.
Spyro took a breather as he finally had time to process what happen. But what had him worried is if Scorporilla would have awaken once more, most time in his fights like Crash they would have been place in some room where they can fight in some open arena, but this time seem different for him and others that have experience this as well.
"Looks like it's down." Spyro said calmly now able to relax without worry. Sparx buzz asked if he's alright, "Yeah I'm okay, just shook since this came unexpected. Come on we should get looking before that thing gets back up." Spyro said as both of them started moving around to find more of those gems. But when they left Tiny soon appeared curious about this creature, he's encountered.
"Hmm, Cortex will know what to do with you. Tiny may not crush Dragon, but Tiny can do good bringing you back." With that Tiny used the device attach to his wrist and teleported them back to Cortex's base.
Wumpa Island - Yuna and Paine
We return back to seeing everyone is doing their own thing for the time being. Among the group only two went out exploring the island, Yuna and Paine are the two that wanted to see where they are now and what's store for them. As they went off exploring the island, they took great care to avoid nay eyes and ears that may be listening to them or trying to find them.
"This world is certainly interesting." Yuna said.
"Yep but has too much jungle for my taste." Paine said expressing her boredom.
"True, I would have thought we come to finding some treasure." Yuna said agreeing with her friend.
"Maybe your boyfriend as well." Paine teased smirking at Yuna. Her expression is enough to see someone glowing red.
"Paine! You know we're not like that. We haven't seen each other for some time now since they been traveling worlds or staying on some of them." Yuna said, trying to cover her own blush.
"Your right about that." Paine then stared into abyss as her thoughts wonder to what has been happening late, "Although I hope everyone is okay." She finally said, this made Yuna wonder what she meant.
Paine then clarified, "Our world has been taken, no doubt they will abuse the world and somehow turned it into a twisted version of what we once knew. I just hope the others don't come to our world and find it in wreckage."
Yuna then understood what she meant, as she too couldn't help wondering what has happen. All those years of hard work and many times trying to defend their home world. But now the world is becoming a shallow version of itself. No doubt thanks to those in the organization that has messed it up.
"I'm worried as well. But we can only look towards the future for hope. I mean with our new allies surely things will go alright." Yuna assures her friend.
"Do you? I know the pirates are friendly and all. But what happens when times get tough, and we need them the most can we really count on them? I may not agree with Leon as he has doubts about their captain, but the crew is supposed to represent their captain's attitude. Surely you must have notice how they behave and their reaction to the situation." Paine usually doesn't say much, but when explaining like this Yuna couldn't help wondering what truly goes on in Paine's mind. Yet she did make some points as they are in some situation where they can't return home and the only people willing to help are pirates that aren't place in good light.
"Well... we just have to wait and see." Is all Yuna can say, flying off ahead as to avoid further questioning. Paine shook her head in disagreeing with her friend, feeling she's being too naïve or positive in this matter. Following behind they left these thoughts for now as they must explore more of the island if they were to find hidden treasure.
Adventurous Pirate
Close towards village - Luffy
As he is still locating the gems, Aku Aku was deep in thought about what is happening. Not only that the dream he recently experience didn't match with what is happening, almost like the dream is meant for future conflicts. If that is the case then everything, they are doing isn't the create battle as he witnesses. What is stranger is the timing of the Pirates arrival, this could only mean something is going to happen that only involves them. Luffy seems more carefree spirited as he couldn't find himself staying mad, maybe annoyed but that's about it.
"Is this it?" Luffy said holding what appears to be the last gem for this island.
"Yes, indeed." Aku Aku said examining the gem, "With this the rest of the gems should be easy to find."
"I don't get it, why would you need these gems if the red one was enough to search the islands." Luffy questioned, while he may not be smart, he can ask questions that do make others think.
"While it is true, they are powerful. They alone are not enough to stable the gems. This gem your holding is what stables the more powerful gems, both are needed to operate the machines of today's science. However, since they are lesser power to the crystals, yet are still powerful on their own. If not used correctly, can cause disaster beyond measure. Cortex knows this as he used the master crystal to control the slave crystals. The Gems function similar to some degree, yet with different set of power." Aku Aku explained.
"So, it's a mystery Gem." This made Aku Aku sigh as his face fell down forward at Luffy's lack of understanding.
"Well, it wasn't like I didn't try, come on." Aku Aku lead the way as they are about to finish their task. But then villagers started to surround Luffy and Aku Aku as they pointed their spears at them. For a moment Luffy did nothing as he stood ready to fight while Aku Aku look around at the situation.
"These villagers, I think I know who they belong too." Aku Aku muttered.
"Straw Hat, Papu Papu had finally found you." Papu Papu spoke as he walks towards them.
"Oh, its Poopa Poopa, glad to see you." Luffy causally said, making Aku Aku sigh as he realizes this could end badly for them.
"MY NAME IS NOT POOPA POOPA, ITS PAPU PAPU! But regardless, I will make sure you remember me when this fight is over. I lost my rock man and you defeated me easily. Now I am mad and will take my vengeance on you-" As he went on a rant, Luffy and Aku Aku started to notice that Papu Papu's body is covered in some dark shading as his body is slowly consumed by what can be describe as shadowy darkness. The Villagers notice as well, being cautious around their chief leader.
"What the?" is what Luffy feels as he ignored most of Papu Papu's rant. Aku Aku notice the same as it seems Papu Papu is unaware of what he's doing to himself.
"That power? It's like the darkness is responding to his anger. Is shouldn't be possible since this hasn't happened before. Could it be because of the outside meddling in World Order that the darkness can be used by people of the world?" As Aku Aku thought about this, Papu Papu is slowly finishing his rant and soon pointed his staff towards the two.
"Now with everything gone and my reputation at stake, I will finish what I have started and end you once and for all Straw Hat." With his declaration, Papu Papu gathered darkness is place on his staff, then twirled around his head, he then slammed the ground as darkness started to spread fast. The Villager became frighten as they shouted "Demon Possessed" as it might as well been the case. Luffy place his two arms in front of him two block the air pressure that is being blown his way. Aku Aku wasn't so fortunate as he's being blasted back by the air's current.
When everything started to clear up, Luffy started to see things clear as the area is now changed from what was once an average village to some twisted nightmare as the huts now have dark violet with light Magenta as the roof. The trees are no longer brown with green leaves, instead they are replaced with Dark Nazy color that have blood veins on them in black color of darkness along with some Rosso Corsa that are coconuts on the tree mixed with thrones replacing the leaves as magenta color, even the grass on the bottom is now colored purple as the darkness is covering the entire village in some dome like barrier.
Luffy look in silents for a moment, but then shouted in excitement, "This is so COOL! How did you do that Popo Popo!" Unfazed by the change environment as he simply is more curious than anything. Papu Papu on the other hand is not amused nor liking that Luffy isn't scared of the situation. Instead, what happen is this made him madder then boiling bot of tea.
"Papu Papu wanted you to cower in fear, instead you show excitement like the dumb Bandicoot from time to time. Now I will destroy you once and for all with my own power through any means." As he said this Papu Papu then slammed the ground and soon everything within the dome came to life as creepy faces that show dark eyes and mouth as the darkness itself started to form. Then the huts started to grow legs as they now stood on two spike legs made of wood along with the hands. The trees started to grow like some snakes as its teeth are the thrones formed like some Venus flytrap. The coconuts started to form as some eyes as the three holes in coconuts moved around like Pupils.
"Papu Papu am tired of your smugness, now you shall pay with your life." As Papu Papu said this the huts and trees went on attacking Luffy. His battle instincts kicking in jump away in time as one of the trees tried to grab him. But it missed as Luffy had to move around jumping and shouting in surprise.
"That's a close one." Luffy said having place himself some distance away from most of the trees, but the huts are still coming towards him. Realizing this Luffy charge and attack with Gomu Gomu no Gatling Gun. As he bashed at least three huts taking them down easily. Luffy then used another attack Gomu Gomu no Whip, to knock down four more huts. But there are still more to at least 30 of them. But in the middle of his attack one snake tree tried to grab him from behind. Luffy notice in less than 2 seconds and jump away with small scratch on his right leg. Yet this didn't stop him, instead as everything tried to get closer. Luffy knew he had to change his tactics, so he used what is called Gomu Gomu no Fireworks. This left many knocks back along with tree snakes that as the huts are being pushed from someone really strong. Seeing they can't harm Luffy. Many of the huts did something weird, about 20 of them grab hold of the trees and pulled them out of their roots. When it was all said and done about 50 trees have been uprooted, but only 20 of the trees are grabbed hold by the huts used as some whip like weapon.
"Heh, that gives me an idea." Luffy said smirking as he thought of his idea. One tree is already close enough as Luffy grabbed the tree surprising it. And like some large staff used it to swing around for a bit smashing into one tree snake. This left the tree snake in Luffy's hand unconscious, as Luffy proceeds to use the tree snake as some battering ram. Smacking around the other tree snakes left and right with the occasional slammed on the ground. Luffy cleared out the tree snakes as the huts stick together trying to figure out how to defeat the Straw Hat kid. Yet as they tried to attack him when Luffy isn't looking, but don't succeed as he jumps away while letting go of his tree snake.
"Aw man." Is all Luffy could say, as the huts tried to attack him with their tree snakes in hand. When they circled around Luffy to make sure he doesn't escape, this only made him jump around even more as they instead of hitting him they attack each other by accident. Luffy laugh at this only for a short while as he avoided more of those tree snakes trying to attack him. This went on until only 2 tree snakes and 5 huts are left, while Luffy isn't always the smartest, he can unknowingly do stuff that most wouldn't have seen before or planned out. The huts then tried to attack at once. Only for Luffy to charge and attack with Gomu Gomu no Gatling, this time finishing them off.
once this happens, Luffy shouted fearfully as some purple stuff tried to drown him. To Luffy this almost felt like sea water in strange color as he avoided the purple stuff. Only to see in the aftermath that the ground became more of that purple stuff hissing like acid melting the ground.
"EH! THE GROUND IS MELTING!" Luffy shouted in fear.
"And so will you straw Hat." Luffy look to see Papu Papu is commanding what appears to be some puddle of mud made of purple stuff. But this mad is also protecting Papu Papu as he stood at the center using the staff as his rod to control the mud. Then he started to throw the mud around as Luffy is forced to move around. While he had much ground to avoid the puddle of muds. He wouldn't be able to reach him without getting hit.
"I can't reach him." Luffy said to himself, but then thought of something as he notices only one rock is unaffected by the change. Luffy made a run as he avoided all of Papu Papu's attacks. But is soon almost taken when Papu Papu surrounded Luffy with mud on both front and back.
"It's over Straw Hat!" Papu Papu is about to finish this fight.
"STOP!" Aku Aku shouted as he manages to get inside. This distracted Papu Papu as Luffy saw his friend had somehow made it here.
"Mask Guy." Luffy shouted as he watches Aku Aku float towards Pau Papu to face him.
"Stand down Straw Hat, I will talk to him." From the way he sounds, this was serious matters. At times Luffy wouldn't agree with this, but not wanting to have a repeat of their home world in fighting, Luffy respected his wishes and allowed him to talk some sense into Papu Papu. While he maybe immature at times, Luffy has grown and learn how to be a better captain thanks to his friends in his crew. From the time they are officially given bounties to when their crew is named the Straw Hat Pirates. They have come a long way, while not always prefect or smart Luffy has more sense than most believe, trusting in his friends even if they are his frist he will respect their wishes. With that said, Aku Aku is now facing Papu Papu eye to eye.
"What is the mask man want with Papu Papu?" He demanded Aku Aku to answer.
"Trying to stop you from making the biggest mistake of your life." Aku Aku replied most serious that he has been in his life.
"And what does Mask man want from Papu Papu?" He questioned.
"From preventing your heart to be consume by the darkness." This surprise both Luffy and Papu Papu as he continued, "I know you are feeling rage and need to lash out at someone. But you must not let yourself be consume by hatred. The darkness may provide you power and strength, but it cannot be the solution. You must let your hatred go if your heart is to be free from Darkness. If you give in to darkness who you are now will be changed forever." Aku Aku said hoping this was enough to convince him that this wasn't the way. Just as this seems to convince Papu Papu from using the darkness, suddenly Aku Aku is covered over by the Purple Mud as he refused to listen to reason.
"Papu Papu will not listen to Mask Man, but Papu Papu will destroy Straw Hat once and for all." He then turned to face Luffy as he prepared to use his newfound powers to destroy Luffy. But is cut off as Aku Aku arose and block the mud from covering Luffy.
"Aku!" Luffy shouted.
"Just go, I will stop him." Aku Aku said, giving Luffy enough time to escape, as Luffy headed for the rock with the opening he was given.
"You may believe that you can save Straw Hat, but I know you aren't strong enough to stop us. Uka Uka is right about you, soft, weak, powerless as your compassion has you vulnerable." Aku Aku used all his powers to stop the dark mud consuming him.
"The Darkness has shown me the way, and soon I will destroy you and cortex on my own. No one will ever mock or insult the Great and Mighty Pau Papu. Chief of this world and shaman of Darkness." From the way it sounds, the darkness is already spreading and changing his personality. Aku Aku realize if he doesn't do something soon then he and others will be consumed by this dark power.
"HEY! PUPO PUPO!" Luffy shouted, then he thrown the large boulder that he manages to lift up and toss towards his direction. Unfazed by this action, Papu Papu used the mud to destroy the boulder melting it away.
"What does this accomplish Straw Hat?" He questions Luffy, only when the dark mud is down on the ground, did his eyes widen as Luffy had jumped towards him and launch his final attack.
Gomu Gomu no Bazooka
This then landed at his gut, shocking in pain and feeling the need to spit up blood. Papu Papu is then launched towards the dark dome and shattered it while he continued to fly until he rolled around and slammed against the boulder with his backside. This was at least 200 Yards from where he stood as the darkness protected him yet vanished from his body as Papu Papu is freed from its control.
Back at the dome, Luffy is shown to be safe as the darkness soon disappeared by the bright light with Aku Aku placed on his face. When it was done, Luffy simply smiled and laugh a bit, "Shishishi, man that was a blast. Thanks, Aku, I thought I was going to die." Luffy thanked him, but he wasn't in any moods of being cheerful. Instead, he faces Luffy in some anger and shouted, "How could you have been reckless, you could have been killed or worse have your heart taken. Even Crash had some sense then you to be this hardhead. What were you thinking back there?" Aku Aku demanded, not in any mood for games.
"Well, I didn't have any way to get past the mud, so I used that giant rock and toss it towards him, so I get punch him in the gut." Luffy explained himself.
"But what would have happened if you been killed, what about your crew, what about your dreams, WHAT ABOUT YOURSELF?" Aku Aku demanded not finding his answer good enough.
"Then I die I guess." Luffy bluntly said unfazed by his anger.
"HOW COULD YOU THINK OF IT LIKE THAT! WHAT IS IT YOU'RE WILLING TO DIE FOR THAT YOU CAN FORFEIT YOUR LIFE SO EASILY?" Aku Aku wanted some answers. For a moment Luffy is silent, but not for long as he pulled his straw hat and look at it, "It's because I made a promise." Luffy answered. This shook Aku Aku of his own anger to confusion as Luffy explained, "You see years ago I decided that I would chase my dream because I promised him some time ago. I would be King of the Pirates someday, and I know that there are more ways to die, but you know what. If I can't risk my life to chase my dreams, then I would have quitted years back. I guess I could have died if you didn't show up." Luffy turn to face Aku Aku and grinned, "If I die chasing my dreams, then I have no regrets. True my nakama will be sad, but I would have protected them even if it means death to help those that are my friends, even if it means death."
When he finished explaining, Aku Aku had been shocked and found himself respecting Luffy even more. The resolve and determination are seen in his eyes, he has a goal, a dream he will never give up on. If he dies trying, then so be it. Aku Aku couldn't stay mad, but instead sigh as he never would have thought he encounter such a warrior in his time even if they are pirates.
"Come on. We should meet the others. The island is clear of the gems, and we have enough." Aku Aku stated, the two then walk back as Luffy followed behind as they will face more trials to come.
Cortex's Hidden Base - Tiny and Scorporilla
When Tiny returned, he brought something along. While they disappointed, he didn't bring gems, but he explained in his own way that this creature appeared and almost crushed Spyro and defeated him easily. When he finished explaining, the Lab Assistances brought Scorporilla towards Cortex's private laboratory where he is planning on his greatest creation, but since they have more allies in forms of genetic mutants, he could use this one for his own purpose. As the creature was set down, Cortex worked on his small project just as Uka Uka came back.
"How is our new patient? This one better be useful then our current allies." Uka Uka said demanding some results.
"For the time being I just need to fix her robotic parts. Enhance them to make her stronger than before." Cortex said while still focus on his operation.
"Hmm, I sense you have something... hidden. Like you are preparing something that could tip in our favor. Tell me Cortex what project you have that could be useful to us?" Uka Uka asked, almost as some demand. Cortex look back glaring as if he gains some guts to defy his master, but after seconds of stare contest Cortex decided to humor him as he commanded his lab assistance to continue his work.
"Come with me, I have something to show you." Uka Uka followed behind curious what Cortex has planned. When they entered some new rooms, it was when they entered what is located away from eyes and ears of everyone. When they entered Uka Uka saw something he never thought he would see. But what had him widen his eyes is how this one is different from Crash, yet similar in some way.
"A Bandicoot? You been creating another BANDICOOT!?" Cortex would have reacted with nervousness, and truthfully, he is just not showing it. In front of them is another Bandicoot. Yet this one is stronger, faster, and more intelligent as some military soldier in the army. Even the appearance is that of someone that has join the army to gain muscles and wears military cargo pants with boots. This ire Uka Uka as he had enough of bandicoots for one lifetime.
"Well, this one is more loyal than the last bandicoot. But as you can see it's stronger, powerful and more obedient. The problem is having a power source to hold this creature under our control. However, on its own Crunch is still stronger than regular Bandicoot but has some personality and characteristic that makes it feel more like some person. What concerns me is if this bandicoot would join sides with Crash and Coco Bandicoot if given the chance. Which is why I would like some power source to make sure we can control this one without difficulty." Cortex explained, when finished Uka Uka started to have some ideas. True he wouldn't want to have another Bandicoot, but on another this one is by far more improved than the original one. The problem is willing this work or backfire on them.
"You have said about some power source to control this creature. But what has been keeping this one from leaving us till now?" Uka Uka question as he knows one false move and they are finished like before.
"You be surprised to know that if you look in this training room there is another entrance that leads him towards another chamber of his kind." Cortex then led him towards what appears to be a small bandicoot community. The community consist of Nitro Squad from the girls that were in the racing tournament to save the earth from Nitros Oxide. They are Megumi, Isabella, Ami and Liz. Among the community is two fake bandicoots of Crash and Coco as Cortex dubs them. The difference being more hair on the eyebrows and weird looking face. Even Tawna is located with them as she appears to come and go along with any of the bandicoots of their choice.
"As you can see, unlike my first attempt these bandicoots are here to keep each other company. I learned since then that Bandicoots like to be in small communities they trust. Those that you see before you aren't mind controlled as we know that doesn't end well. So, for the time being Crunch stays because of them and has learned to be more friendly when necessary. I have taken him out to make sure he's comfortable staying, but for how long he will comply is another question." As Cortex explained this, Uka Uka could see the potential of this new bandicoot and apparently others as well.
"So, you want to drunken your new bandicoot general with power, so he doesn't resist your orders, correct?" Uka Uka asked to make sure he heard this right.
"Yes, I don't want him to wonder off until we have some power source to finally control him." Cortex answered, with this Uka Uka made a devious smile as he slowly chuckled into a full-blown laughter for a short time.
"You have out done yourself Cortex, with this we can finally destroy Bandicoot and leave this world into darkness. And as for your power source, I have some... ideas of my own." With that said, Uka Uka turned around as the screen started to focus on his face with only his eyes glowing with evil intentions.
Alright, more gems to be found and more action on the way. While I won't have all the gems being gathered at once. The Boss battles between heartless, villains and recovery of gems is more than enough to make this exciting. Along the way there will be characters that have appeared from other games, just not too many as this is supposed to be remix of Wrath of Cortex since we now have official Crash Bandicoot 4 it's about time as the sequel. You could say with this adventure it's the final tribute and ending to the Crash Series when we move on. Plus, now its combine with Spyro's world it's a double combo.
Character Profile:
Zoro's Keyblade - Light Stunner - a Keyblade obtain in the world of Ape City (Ape Escape), when using this keyblade it has the ability to shapeshift into different forms of gadgets that allows one to capture or fight its intended target. This keyblade has many abilities that when combine with Zoro's swordsman skills can become a deadly force of power and strength. For Zoro his only mode for the keyblade is stunner mode, as he's only familiar with cutting down opponents the keyblade is only used at base level. How strong can it be depending on the user if he/she knows how to work around it.
Louise/Ruddy - A Mutated fish that has encounter both Komodo Brothers and Zoro. When first facing this creature Zoro instantly showed no mercy and weakness of its abilities. Yet when given in to anger it somehow obtain the powers of darkness mutating it with painful process of an evolve mutate called Ruddy. This time has the same number of tentacles with eel like neck and barracuda face. The tentacles have their own sentients with hidden mouths and five smaller tentacles that are worm like mutation and smaller legs as blades. Like many of Cortex Allies, the exception of this one maybe some failed experiment that has lived in the river lake alone until prey would come in reach.
Scorporilla - Encountering both Spyro and Tiny Tiger, it tried to attack Spyro for reasons unknown. But for the creature it's actually a combination of both Gorilla and Scorpion as the name is combining the two. It can be reasoned at some point Cortex experimented on other creatures. But what is added are metal pieces on the left side along with metal tail behind it. Already has proven to be more powerful than most of Cortex allied mutates. Yet can be defeated given enough time and patients.
Red Zealot - Alongside Lopez, this one is an ally of O'Malley. His story is from where other zealots of their color fought each other to death. All of them sounding the same with fast pace speaking and annoying attitudes. But this one seemed to join O'Malley and Lopez 3.0 as it now follows them around. From its red armor it appears like some spartan armor if it weren't for the fact that many red and blue factions are created for some experiment as freelancer test dummies. Now joined in alliance as one of the Metal Army there is no doubt the future will have many bloods of red and blue along the way.
Heartless Types:
Totem Piller - Are Like the Totem Poles we are familiar but is twisted version of darkness. Totem poles have been used for spiritual means, yet the heartless took this form and twisted the meaning behind them. Now it has the more than one face as all of them are alive yet are stuck together to form one large body. When separated or switch around they give off different expressions or ways it presents itself.
Mutant Bane - Among the heartless ranks of this world, this one seems to have special traits and mutations that would have help in certain environments. When using magic against them, they can be more dangerous as their one boss heartless appear to have fire powers. What other sorts they may come will be left as surprise during this world visit.
Mask Intruder - Like the villagers that serve Papu Papu, this one is similar to wearing mask to scare others or intimidate those who are enemies. Wehn dealing with these guys be weary of their group numbers even if they are different brands of heartless as they come at random places.
Double O' Gear - One such creature is rare and dangerous as its combine robotic parts with heartless parts from the darkness. Creating a living metal that is darken by the environment. If it wasn't for the world environment it could be mistaken as Dr. Gin's minions from the darkness.
Triple R' Twister - A Robotic heartless that has wheels for feet and can twist itself like a tornado. Tallest among the newest heartless alongside Totem Pillars, it has fast speeds and can move around in angles that hasn't been performed or seen before. As one of the more dangerous heartless, the reach and speed can be unequaled if one isn't prepared to face this leaves
