Amelia Pond stares around at her surroundings in complete awe.

"It's bigger inside!" she exclaims and the Doctor just chuckles kindly.

"You wouldn't believe how many have said that same thing over the years."

Amelia just nods, continuing to swivel her head this way and that, craning her neck to get a better glance, wanting to take in everything around her.

"I can see how you'd manage to fit a swimming pool and library in here."

"There's much more than just a pool and library!" the Doctor informs her excitedly.

"There is? Can I see?"

This strange new man she's only just met laughs a wonderful, giddy laugh and grabs her hand, leading her off so they can explore his TARDIS together. It feels nice. It feels great! When was the last time he was so excited over showing off the TARDIS? It feels like it's been too long since he's last had a companion to travel with.

He finishes showing Amelia around and goes on to show her how he pilots the TARDIS, forgetting in his excitement that the TARDIS still needs time to repair herself. She makes an unhappy warping noise as they crash back through the different dimensions of Time and Space.

The Doctor goes flying backwards and manages to catch Amelia as she falls as well. She gives a short scream of surprise and the two of them just lay against the floor for a few seconds before the Doctor heaves himself to his feet and then offers his hand to the young girl beside him. She takes it and stands, wobbling a bit and looking unsteady.

"Sorry," the Time Lord apologises, looking first at Amelia and then to the ceiling of the TARDIS so that they both know he didn't mean for that to happen.

He then makes his way over to the doors to see where they've ended up and is surprised when he opens them to see that they're still in Amelia's back garden.

The girl herself appears next to him and points out in some shock and confusion, "The shed is fixed!"

So it is.

He goes over to examine and his newest companion watches in bewilderment before he tells her, "Twelve years."

"What do you mean?"

"That's how long it's been out here since I met you that night."

"But it's only been a few hours!"

"For you. But the TARDIS has crashed through Time and fast-forwarded twelve years."

"Will the crack in my wall have been fixed, too?"

"I'd forgotten about that! Let's go see!"

And with that, the Doctor bounds across the garden, throws open the back door and bolts inside with all that energy and enthusiasm that Amelia is having to get used to.

"Wait!" she calls and runs after him.
