Is this death?' He thinks, floating in the bleak abyss, he's been in for an indescribable amount of time, seconds, minutes, months…

Though, floating is relative in the sense that he's not submerged in water, nor is it hovering over air.

He likens it to what he'd think zero gravity is. He feels unchained, like a restraint has been released.

The last thing he remembers is going to the doctor for a chronic migraine he's been having. He held off on going as much as possible, not willing to see it as an issue. Just dismissed for dehydration. Seeing as he's not in the hospital after the fainting spell, he's gonna assume that it was more serious than a simple migraine.

"You would assume right"

If he had a physical body to jump he would have, he attempts to spin desperately trying to find the source of the voice.

The feeling of having no physical body is a wild experience, you can still move, but there's no body to move, he feels mailable, like a cloth drifting by its own accord, with no resistance.

"Humans and their strange fascination, with death"

The voice brings him back from his musings. The flicker of warmth starts to build around his…soul?

"A soul, your spirit, your essence, you. Whatever you humans call it"

The intensity of the voice fades as a bright light appears to reveal itself, taking the form of a vague humanoid shape made of pure flames.

The feeling that engulfed him as the being reveals their presence is almost indescribable, but if he had to put words to it he'd say 'A lover's caress, a mothers warmth, blistering heat, a sizzling destruction, and the essence of life.'

Okay so maybe he can describe it.

great massive wings appearing behind the being, like a cloak shrouding the already bleak abyss into darkness. The being itself almost seems cosmic in contrast as the liquid life flows through their body.

'This is a god'

The heat is consuming, but painless as the being finishes manifesting, the ominous bright light receding as the flames dull.

Their eyes are pure white, in contrast to their dark molten skin, with fiery rivers carving throughout the beings body.

"Wha- Um" he can't make a coherent word escape his mouth.

What's he supposed to say when the human torch with wings appears in front of you?

"Human torch?" The being inquired, the tone filled with mild amusement, though an underline of steel is heard.

He doesn't even really have the mental capacity to properly freak out, he's still dealing with the fact that he's dead.

"you're projecting your thoughts very loud, the workings of mortals have always amusing" The deity interrupts his musing, clearly done letting him stew in his madness.

"Now, this isn't usual, and those old tree barks aren't going to appreciate this, but what's the fun of being a god, if you can't bend the rules?"

The being goes on to explain how they pulled his soul from his body, after instigating the aneurysm.

"you kept moaning on how you wanted some excitement, how you wanted something more…"

the being leans forward propping their hands behind.

"So me being who I am, saw an amazing opportunity, you wanting a new start, something with excitement, and I, want to see those old prejudice bastards throw a tantrum"

He can only stand there stunned as he watches the living magma strut as they rave about old blood crying bastards, and whiny seven dwarfs.

Not bothering to go into that, mainly for what little sanity he has left, instead he meekly nods.

Not seeming to notice, or care for the lack of response, the great entity goes on to tell him how he wants to stir up the way things have been going.

"Magic has been lost. Here for example, there's hardly any trace left. The magic your wiccans and witches use is but a match compared to the giant hearth that is still left in planetos, but even that is waning"

The pressure surrounding them seems to fluctuate as they let a breath of air out, plumes of smoke following after, billowing across his face.

Their face darkens, expression wise, as the rivers of lava adorning their face glow with the same intensity of their rage.

"My children, used as mere tools." They spit out.

"My precious creations, a beast made up of pure ambient magic, in a sense the fuel that feeds the world life, cause without magic, without essence, how does one live?" The being ask

They, can't be talking about-

"Dragons?"

"Yes! My dragons. They cultivated them and turned them into mere savage beasts, tried to domesticate them like…dogs" The being lets out a bitter laugh.

My children are near extinction, the few that are hidden from those who seek to harm them are the only ones keeping the world from decaying to that prissy icicle… I may be exaggerating, but they are the key to magic. Without them magic will die."

The being seems to scrunch up their face, the cracks in their skin creasing causing the liquid fire to pulse.

"they spout, a dragon is not a slave, yet is that not what they did to my dragons? Honestly, giving them the doom was a mercy"

'Wait, doom?… A dragon is not a slave..'

'Those words….'

'This can not be happening.'

'How is this possible?'

'A dream?'

How many fanfics has he read that involve scenarios like this; fantasized about similar situations.

No, he can't be dreaming. He doesn't have the ability to dream this intricately.

The being pauses in their rant, looking towards him. they let out a sigh.

"You mortals and your fragility…from what I've gathered your world has a multitude of theory's, of what do you call it?"

The being pauses to tap his arm in a thinking manner before suddenly snapping their fingers causing sparks to breathe life from the movement.

"Ah, Alternate Universes?"

"Eh…" Is the elegant response from the poor man.

"I know this is a lot to ask, but given what I've seen from your soul. I feel you're up for the task…."

What task? The being still hasn't mentioned what they want from him. What can he do? Which universe would the being send him, Book, tv?

He doesn't want to suffer like…Theon.

His soul shivers, feeling like he's rippling.

"As you've figured out I'm an entity from the world of Planetos, a god if you will"

"I'm not gonna bore you with the facts you already know, so I'll jump to the need to know…"

"The universe is inherently much the same as what you would call canon, the slight differences are directly related to you."

"Though, seeing as the era, or period if you will. I'm sending you in, isn't the start of the…pilot?' The being stalls on the unfamiliar word.

"It shouldn't matter too much in the grand scheme of things what is canon, unless you decide to preserve it."

"Given that there isn't a body currently available for the task, I'm setting for you…' Again the being pauses but only to grin, one full malicious glee. "I've manipulated certain events, depending on your choice, they'll come to fruition.

'What do they mean they've manipulated certain events?'

'Before the start of the pilot?'

"you're going to do me a great service, if you accept this task, so I'll be gifting with blessing, you could call them, for compensation"

"You still haven't told me what it is you want from me?"

The human recoils in himself, relaxing as he isn't lashed out for his impudence.

Peeking through metaphysical eyes, he sees an amused expression on the face of the being.

"There's that blazing spark, I've seen deep in you. You're gonna need it…should you accept"

'Accept what' he thinks is a little peeved.

The expression on the face of the God, brightens as the heat he felt stirring in his pulse, in response to his irritation.

"The first part of the blessings, unlocked potential in your new family magic, that heat you feel is just a small portion of what you'll feel, and be able to do should you accept this fully, the fact that your fluctuating like that gives me your answer, but I digress, let's get onto why I've brought you hear"

The voice of the being distant as the pulsating warmth swims throughout his being.

'It's magnificent, the warmth of a lover pales in comparison to the comfort that fills his being.'

"That is just a glimpse into the feeling of your magic…"

"This is amazing…this feeling, I- what is it you want for in exchange?"

He can admit to being selfish, he's always wanted power, he's always been attracted to power in general. This feeling, even a drop, if he heard right is just too enticing to pass up.

"It's simple, I want you to bring back my dragons to their former glory, before those sheepherders ruined them. Being a god, I'm physically limited to what I can do on Planetos."

"Those pesky twig huggers, those tree bark gods are so fond of, are their version of what I'm doing with you, you will act as my will, particularly all I care for is the dragons, anything else is free game…Though if you did spread the word of me I'd greatly appreciate it."

It's disturbing how cute the entity manages to look with its molten face

"So you want me to become a dragon babysitter?"

"Well when you put it like that it sounds boring"

He doesn't know how it happened, but he's actually bantering with a god.

'how cool'

He flushes a little as the being lets a soft chuckle.

'Oh, right mega mind here'

He really needs to work on how loud his thoughts are, if he's gonna interact with god's.

"Besides caring for the dragons, the position you are in will give you liberties, you'll have a whole world to explore, become a pirate, hell's conquer the world, I don't care as long as my dragons aren't forced into war…" the being pauses with the word forced being emphasized.

"What?" He's drawls blank, what position allows

He takes an unneeded breath as his intangible essence starts to take form.

" to be quite honest I'm giving you quite the gary sue qualities" the being muses.

'They know what a Gary Sue is?'

"Wait, I don't mind being a Gary Sue!"

"But your audience won't- I mean" the being breaks off awkwardly.

'My wha-'

"Anyway, tracking back to the warmth you're experiencing, that is the introduction to what will become, what is in essence, your magic."

"Seeing as most people in Planetos, rarely if any have magic, be cautious when using the magic, as you're going to be a conduit, the ambient magic will latch on to in an attempt to preserve magic itself. This means you'll have to gain control over yourself, and your magic less it overpower you."

"When you arrive at your present you will start entering a dreamlike state, as your mature mind recedes to become mailable enough to handle the adjustment to infancy. This is mainly to preserve your psyche, can't have you acting like your future uncle now can we"

'Future uncle?'

"Not to sound ungrateful, but is that all? Magic?"

The being gives him a blank look.

"You're clearly not grasping the scope of what you'll be able to accomplish, you're essentially my version of a forest child of the trees"

'Forest child of the trees?'

"Is that all you're going to do, repeat my words? Or are you gonna give me the answer we both know you'll give"

'Give a mortal a minute' too mentally drained to filter his cheek. Thankfully the being ignored it other than a twitch of a…lip.

What should he do, the being hasn't mentioned any other options, so he's gonna assume it's this or permanent death.

'With seems very… bleak'

"Okay,"

letting his mania decide this is probably not the brightest idea.

But as the being grins, and flicks his forehead, the piercing pain that he feels overrides any thoughts.

He doesn't even know the gods name.
