I don't own any of this Loud House belongs to Nickelodeon.
A week after impact; from space it's hard to tell that our planet was once blue and green from the amount of thick clouds covering the whole planet.
For the crew of the international space station, the Earth looked like a alien planet, rather than their home. From here they had a clear view of the asteroid impact, along with the red spot that's situated right where the asteroid struck. Space junk were also cleared in that area where the asteroid came in, it simply smashed right through the junk that was in its way.
Down below acid rain continued to pour down in certain parts of the world, causing flash flooding, corrosion on buildings, and burning skin on anything or anyone out in the open.
The everlasting darkness is also taking its toll on the plant life. Without sunlight plants that survived the heat and fires began to swivel up and die. It's really eminent in tropical areas such as the Amazon rain forest which is starting to become a shallow shell of its once glorious self.
With the plants dying around the world, it breaks the first link in the food chain.
Herbivores are already feeling the effects of the shortage of food, especially for the largest land animal on Earth the elephant; which are used to eating three hundred pounds of food per day, now find themselves scounding around the landscape for anything to eat.
In the African landscape; a small herd of elephants trudged through the desolate landscape. They soon come across a dead male elephant, the matriarch stops next to the body where she nudged it with her trunk, receiving no response she leads her herd away hoping that something is growing somewhere.
Shortly after the herd left, a pride of lions came to feast on the dead elephant. Like the lions, the carnivores were more fortunate as they can eat the herbivores.
But with plants dieing, it's only a matter of time before they to will suffer greatly.
"I spy with my little eye, something gray."
"Is it the wall." Lynn boredly answered as she rested her head against the said wall.
Leni nods in glee. "You are so good at this Lynn."
"That's because it's been the same thing for the past few days." Lynn snarked.
Leni smiled in understandment. "Oh okay, I get it." Leni looks around the shelter carefully. "I spy-"
"The wall."
Leni beamed a happy smile. "Correct!" Lynn facepalms hard.
The rest of her family sat around the bunker bored out of their minds. Some tried to keep themselves busy like Luna, Luan, Lincoln, Lucy, and Lana, but with spending a full week of staying in one area, they ran out of material or imagination to use, now they just sat there counting the lines of the wall for the thousand time.
The only one not bored is Lisa, as she had been practicing this type of scenario in one of her virtual reality helmets. Granted it was for a nuclear war, but overall she knew that waiting is going to be a major factor in this time of disaster, and Lisa is cool minded enough to wait for as long as she deemed necessary.
Luna meanwhile with no musical inspiration left in her, sat on the bench kicking her legs up and down, which made a tune in her mind. Luna now starts to hum in a song that sounded very similar to "Go Ninja Go!" The other family members bob their heads slightly to the tune Luna had made.
Lying on the concrete floor, Lola tapped her fingers on the floor as she stared blankly into space. After spending a whole week in this stupid bunker, Lola utterly felt like she lost her mind from basically doing nothing all day, besides eating those bland rations and sleeping at the end of the day.
The sound of Luna humming and her legs kicking up and down irritated her quickly. When Luna got to the middle of the song she slammed her fist onto the floor and turned to her rocker older sister with such viciousness. "Well you cut that out!"
Luna jumped from the loud shout that came from her younger sister, she rose up her hands defensively. "Whoa! Chill out sis! I'm just trying to entertain myself."
"Well it's obnoxious, so cut it out!"
"Lola! That's no way to talk to your sister, apologize at once!" Rita scolded.
"No!"
"Excuse me young lady." Rita exclaimed in disbelief.
"I'm not going to apologise for I am sick of eating that bland food! I'm tired of doing nothing but staring at the wall all day! And I am absolutely sick of this stupid bunker!" Lola boomed in fiery anger.
Lisa did not like Lola insulting her fallout shelter, against her better instincts she approached her angry sister. "Excuse me Lola, but this shelter has saved your life. I suggest that you show gratitude."
"Gratitude? We have to use buckets whenever we have to use the bathroom, you know how awkward it is to do number one and two in a bucket? Not to mention being in the same area with your family as your doing it!"
"It's not that bad." Lana chimed in with a shrug, she utterly shrunk as Lola's gaze turned towards her. "That's because you've been into icky things ever since we were born!" She snapped before returning her attention back to Lisa.
"As for you! Why didn't you install a toilet!"
"It was an honest oversight on my part, besides even if I did had a toilet installed, it's most likely it wouldn't work since the plumbing isn't working anymore, what with sewage plants being no more." Lisa explained.
"I don't care! I still rather use a toilet than another stupid rusty old bucket!" Lola argued.
"You would care with our bodily extractions lingering in the toilet." Lisa argued back.
"Well if that meant we can out of this rust bucket, then I'll take it." Lola snapped.
Lisa facepalmed in agitation for it irritated her that Lola didn't realize how better off she and the others were here, than outside for the time being. "Lola, outside is worse."
"Oh yeah, those other survivors." Lola snarked.
Lisa now pinched her forehead. "Yes other survivors like I've mentioned, but also the acid rain that's falling from the sky, along with the darkness that's covering the world."
"What's the big deal! I just want to get out!"
"To put it simply Lola. Royal Woods is not like what it once was, there's no vegetation as its either burned or withering away from this darkness, our house is most likely gone, and your pageants that you enjoy are extinct. Frankly I say that's for the best, as although you enjoyed them, they were a waste of time."
Lola couldn't believe on what she had just heard, that came from her own sister's mouth no less. Now there were a few things that will make Lola go ballistic: one of these is ruining her things, dirtying up her dresses, stealing her money, but the most important thing that will really guarantee you a one way trip to the hospital or the morgue is insulting her passion.
Before anyone could stop her, Lola tackled Lisa hard, they rolled on the floor until she pinned her genius sister to the ground where she laid several punches to Lisa's face.
Lynn, Lana, and Luan grab hold of her, they struggled to haul her away from Lisa, even with the combined strength of both Lynn and Lana it is a struggle to keep her in place as Rita and Lynn Sr. rushed over to Lisa.
The four year old genius had bruises on both her cheeks, a black eye, and a bloody nose that ran down both sides of her face. Despite the obvious pain, Lisa kept up her usual facial expression of deadpan.
Her parents were really concerned however, they quickly pull her back up on to her feet as they looked her over. "Are you okay honey?" Rita asked as she gently cupped Lisa's cheeks.
"I accidentally poked a bear, that was obviously a horrible miscalculation." Lisa simply replied while she simply readjusted her glasses that were crooked on her face.
As Rita attended to her second youngest daughter, Lynn Sr. turned to face Lola who is still thrashing around as her three sisters tried to keep her still. "Lola, how could you do that to your own younger sister?" He asked with fury in his tone of voice.
Lola ignores the tone in her father's voice, all she could focus on is Lisa who was not only being looked over by their mother but also Lilly.
"Wisa okay?"
"I'm fine youngest sibling." Lisa reassured her younger sister.
"Your not going to be when I'm through with you!" Lola threaten. Lola broke free from Lynn's grip, she lunges forward dragging Luan and Lana with her despite all they did to stop her. Lynn quickly grabbed her again where she just about stopped Lola in her tracks, though not without another struggle.
"Let me go! Brainiac needs to be taught a lesson!" Her other siblings joined in to stop Lola from getting to Lisa, all talking at the same time as they protested for Lola to stop.
"LOLA LOUD!" Everyone instantly stopped and turned to their dad, they never heard their father shout like that before, even with their most craziest moments.
"Sorry for shouting, but Lola you don't attack your siblings!"
"But she insulted my pageants!" Lola protested.
"Yes, that was low of Lisa to say. But that still doesn't give you the right to beat her up. Not to mention talking back to your mother earlier." Lynn Sr. scolded in which Lola only responds with a huff. "For your punishment, you won't be having any dinner. Now go stand in the corner."
With a wolf like growl, Lola pushed her way out of the sibling pile and marched herself to the corner where she can be heard grumbling to herself as her family looked at her cautiously.
Rita however took no notice as she continued to look over Lisa. "Are you sure you're alright?" Lisa places a tissue on her nose to both clean up the blood as well as block it. "I assure you mother, this is nothing to be so worried about."
"But your cheeks." Rita exclaimed with hands just hovering above the bruise on her left cheek.
"It'll heal, sure with no ice available it won't sooth the pain, but nonetheless it'll heal in time."
Rita still looked worried. "If you say so honey." Rita then gave her daughter a boo-boo kiss on the cheek in which Lisa secretly liked as it did sooth the pain on the said cheek a little bit.
Later the family were having another ration supper. They sat around on the floor eating whatever was in their cans. True to his word, Lola did not have any supper. Instead the pink clad Loud still stood at the corner with her arms crossed and her back turned away from her family.
"Can you pass the peaches please?" Leni asked Luna.
Luna hands her the peaches. "Here you go dude."
"Thanks Luna." Leni gleefully eats on the canned fruit.
"You can say that was peachy." Luan joked fallowed immediately by her trademark laugh.
Leni ignored the joke however for she was too busy eating her peaches. Leni went to take another bite until she took notice of Lola all alone in the corner. Despite knowing that Lola disserved the punishment she received, Leni couldn't help but feel bad for her younger sister.
Leni looked down to a can of mandarin oranges, she grabbed it and went to get up, Rita however noticed and asked what her second oldest daughter is doing?
"I'm going to give Lola these oranges." She answered sweetly. "She must be hungry."
Lynn Sr. wiggled his finger. "Nah uh Leni. Lola needs to learn that she can't assault her four year old sister."
"Besides approaching her probably isn't the best idea." Lincoln commented.
"Yeah, she's as angry as me when someone messes with my lucky shoes." Lynn added as she glared at Lucy.
"I said I was sorry."
"Sorry doesn't get rid of bat poop." Lynn snarked.
Knowing better than to argue Leni sat back down, but not without still feeling bad for Lola.
For Lola, she thought how unfair this was. Lisa is trapping them inside this tin can and to top it all off, she blankly insulted her passion to her face. Yet she was considered the bad guy, was her family blind or something, they couldn't just stay here for two months as that is just too long, by the time they do get out of here, they'll probably become feral.
Lola was not going to become some pale, hairless feral that only says my presious when holding something. Lola was going to get out of here, she just couldn't stay in this thing for another day.
As the family slept later that night, Lisa went over to a panel on the wall. Putting in a password, the panel lit up revealing the power meter; the solar power is down and the emergency generator is about halfway, Lisa expected the fuel for the generator will run out next Saturday.
This naturally represented a problem for when that fuel runs out, the lights will turn off which well simply not do. Luckily she took some mind to store in some fuel for the generator that should at least last them for a few more weeks.
This was one of the many reasons that they had a two month deadline, next to the limited food supply, and as demonstrated by Lola earlier today, staying in a confined space for a long period of time is going to lead to tensions. Tensions possibly far more worse than any sister fight protocol.
"Hopefully it won't come to that." Lisa quietly told herself. Silently Lisa went to a spot that served as her concrete bed, where she turned in for the night.
Lola woke up early the next morning. Spending the night once again on the cold, hard floor she awaken in a much worser mood than yesterday.
With a silent grumble she sat up while rubbing her shore back, she then took a glance at her family who she slept separate from them, then took a glance at the ladder that leads out of this trashcan.
Her chance of freedom is just right there, she could just climb up the ladder, open the hatch, then step outside, it was just that easy. Lola took a step forward but then stopped as on one hand maybe this wasn't such a good idea, besides she didn't want to get into more trouble with her parents.
Maybe she could just suck it up.
A foul odor suddenly filled the air, sniffing it Lola recognized it as one of Lynn's farts. In disgust she quickly rejected her earlier thought and went for the ladder.
The hatch creaked open slowly, and like a groundhog Lola slowly popped her head out, catching her first glance of the outside world.
It was definitely a shock for the princess of the family, her house is gone leaving behind a pile of rubble along with Mr. Grouse's house, the grass is also gone leaving nothing but dirt and sprouting fungi. From what she saw Lisa was right, Royal Woods did change.
Slowly she got out of the shelter and stepped on the soil. Lola really couldn't believe that this was her backyard that held a barbecue just a week ago. She then glances towards where the garage once stood and utterly gasped in horror as right there is her flipped over princess car with a large branch laying on top of it.
Lola rushes quickly to it, she grabbed the end of the branch and pulled/push, but it was just too large and heavy to move. Lola could feel her frustration rise as her utter efforts were completely useless, letting out a scream Lola kicked the branch. "Stupid hunk of wood!"
Lola stood there giving the branch such a glare that you could've sworn she could shoot out Lazer beams like superman. Instead of Lazer beams however, all the pent up anger Lola felt for the past week admitted a flow of tears that she just couldn't hold anymore.
Sinking to her knees, Lola angrily cried over everything she lost: like her home, rewards, and everything else that she worked so hard on getting ever since she was four. She just couldn't believe that it was all gone just like that, what could she even do? Now that everything she ever loved is lost forever.
This was such a big question for her as all she ever did in her young life is pageants. Now with pageants being no more, she now has nothing to live for except kneeling in front of her totaled princess car in this new dark world.
From on top of a hill; two figures watched the young girl weep in front of a pink car. They were a good distance away from the young girl, but they didn't worry about being spotted, besides with her crying they doubted that she would even take notice of them, even if they were up to the busted up fence that surrounded what they assume to be her backyard.
The figures now turned their attention to the shelter the girl had came out from. That shelter must have supplies in there, supplies that could keep them satisfied for days.
The figures turned to each other and smiled. They were going to get some supplies from that shelter, no matter who got in their way.
They then quickly ran off to tell the others of their find.
