Hey guys I'm back with another chapter, and I'm sorry about the wait for this one. I've just been extremely busy lately and I haven't had a whole lot of time to write lately, plus I've experienced a few computer problems. Also we passed 400 reviews, and almost have 550 favorites and 600 followers. Again thank you all for your continued support of this story, it's what keeps me going. Also I know in the anime Lyra always called Dawn, Dane, but that always kinda annoyed me. Yeah it was kinda funny the first few times, but it got old extremely fast. So I figured its been a few years, and Lyra has matured, so she'll be addressing Dawn with her correct name. So with that out of the way onto the fic.

Light filtered in through the window and hit Lyra's sleeping face. She groaned as she opened her eyes, but immediately she shot up.
"W-Where am I?" She thought as she scanned the room. It was when she spotted Ash asleep in a chair across the room that things fell in place. "That's right, I got in a big fight with Khoury and then Ash said I could stay with his group for a while."
With a sigh Lyra laid back down on the bed and stared at the ceiling. After a minute she turned her head and stared at Ash.
"Ash is such a great guy, he's always willing to help his friends... I wonder if Dawn and him ever hooked up?" Before Lyra could think more on this subject she heard Ash groan.
"Dammit," Ash groaned out as he stretched out his back. "I'm never sleeping in a chair again."
It was then that Ash noticed that Lyra was staring at him with a slight blush on her face.
"Oh hey Lyra, you're up. Did you sleep well?" Ash asked as he stood up and stretched.
"Yeah I slept fine. Uh thanks for letting me have the bed Ash." Lyra said as she rubbed her arm nervously averting his gaze.
"Hey don't worry about it, you're a friend going through a rough time, so I wanted you to be comfortable." Ash said with a big smile.
"Again thanks Ash, you're such a great friend." Lyra said as she stood up and hugged Ash.
Ash returned the hug and patted Lyra's back.
"Come on let's go get breakfast, you can meet everyone." Ash said as he released Lyra from the hug and grabbed her hand.
Lyra was madly blushing as Ash lead her to the cafeteria. When they finally entered the cafeteria they spotted the rest of Ash's group eating breakfast.
"Morning guys!" Ash said happily as he took a seat next to Cilan.
Lyra was a little hesitant and just awkwardly stood rubbing her arm.
"Hey Lyra! Come on a sit next to me!" Ash said as he pulled out the chair next to him.
Lyra eyed the spot and slowly made her way over, and sat down next to Ash. Everyone eyed Lyra suspiciously except for Dawn.
"Lyra is that you?" Dawn asked from across the table.
"Dawn?" Lyra asked perking up.
"Yeah it's me how are you?" Dawn asked as she got up and hugged Lyra.
"I've been better," Lyra said with a sigh.
"What do you mean? Oh what happened?" Dawn asked as she took the empty seat next to Lyra.
"Me and Khoury got into a real nasty fight. We both said some things that can't be taken back. Then we both went our separate ways," Lyra explained making Dawn gasp. "Then Ash found me crying on a bench in the park. So like the great guy he is, he offered me the chance to travel with you guys for a while."
While Lyra and Dawn were talking everyone else was looking at Ash.
"What?"
"Ash who is that?" Anabel whispered so Lyra wouldn't hear.
"Oh that''s Lyra. Dawn and I meet her in Sinnoh. She's originally from Jhoto, but she was promoting the region with a festival in Sinnoh. So after the festival she traveled with us for a while so she could see one of Dawn's contests." Ash explained but he was interrupted by May.
"But why is she here?"
"I was getting to that. When she traveled with us, she was also traveling with a friend of hers named Khoury. Well apparently they had a big fight, and they both went their separate ways. I found her crying in the park last night, so I said she could travel with us for a while."
"That was a very honorable thing you did Ash." Cilan said as he patted Ash on the back.
"Thanks Cilan I figured that after she's around friends for a while she can bounce back and get over Khoury," Ash said as he leaned in. "So please try to be nice to Lyra, she's going through some rough stuff right now."
Everyone nodded and returned to what they were previously doing.
Back with Dawn and Lyra, their talk had changed to a very different topic.
"Sooo Dawn have you and Ash hooked up yet?" Lyra asked in a mischievous tone.
Dawn's face flushed red as she answered.
"Uh yeah Ash and I are together."
"Ooo Dawn I knew you had it in you." Lyra said as she playfully slapped Dawn's arm.
"Yeah well I'm not the only one seeing Ash."
Hearing this caused Lyra to raise and eyebrow.
"You see those other girls," Dawn said gesturing to all the other girls besides Bianca and Burgundy. "Well they're with Ash too."
This caused Lyra's face to heat up as well.
"S-So Ash is with all those other girls too?"
Dawn just nodded in response.
"H-How does that work? Don't some of you feel left out sometimes?"
"Oh no it's great! Ash always make time for each of us. Ash, May, Iris, and I just went on a date to the amusement park yesterday. Plus all the girls are like sisters to me. We all love and support each other, it's like we're one big family."
"Hmm I see." Lyra said as she turned her gaze to Ash.
"M-Maybe I should give Ash a chance. I already know he's a great guy, and Dawn seems happy with the situation." Lyra thought before she lightly shook her head. "No, no I'm so confused with this whole Khoury situation. I...I just need to think about this for a little bit."
Lyra was shaken from her thoughts when she heard Ash speak to her.
"Hey Lyra you better eat up, because we're heading out soon."
"O-Oh sure Ash," Lyra said as she stood up and got something to eat.
"So Ash where are we going?" Cynthia asked as she took a bite out her pancakes.
"We're heading to Driftveil City." Ash said with a wicked grin.
(4 Days Later Driftveil City)
After an uneventful trip our group arrived in Driftveil City. During the trip Lyra had really warmed up to the group and seemed much happier. She fit right in with everyone and was a welcome addition to the group. Also during the trip Dawn and Lyra had become extremely close, whenever Lyra wasn't with the rest of the group she was talking and laughing with Dawn.
During the trip Ash would often catch Lyra staring at him, but whenever he'd meet her gaze she'd look away blushing. Ash knew what this meant, but he felt that Lyra just had a crush on him since he had helped her in her time of need. Although Ash had to admit that Lyra was quite appealing. She was very attractive and Ash liked her bubbly personality. But he'd let her make her own desicion on what to do with her feelings for him.
"Well we're here!" Cilan announced as he put his digital map away.
"Alright everyone let's do this!" Ash yelled as he ran into the gym.
Ash took two steps into the gym before he ran into someone. The collision sent Ash sprawling to the floor.
"Well what do we have here?"
Ash looked up and saw Clay towering over him with a grin on his face.
"You think you can just come waltzin into my gym and run into me you whipper snapper." Clay said before he let out a boisterous laugh and offered Ash his hand, while he held his pickaxe in his other hand.
"Thanks Clay." Ash said as Clay lifted him onto his feet.
"Long time no see Ash," Clay said with a grin. "You're gone for a few years and now I hear that your the Sinnoh, Hoenn, AND Kalos champion."
Ash just returned the grin and rubbed the back of his head.
"Well you must know why I'm here?"
"Of course I know why you're here you whipper snapper. But don't think that just because you're a champion that you can beat me easily."
"I wouldn't like it if my opponents didn't offer me a challenge."
"Well let's get to it." Clay said as he lead the group to the battlefield.
Clay and Ash both stood on opposites sides of the field with matching grins.
"The official three-on-three battle between the gym leader Clay and challenger Ash will commence. Trainers bring out your first Pokemon."
"Well let's see what a champion can do," Clay said as he grabbed a Pokeball from his belt. "Krookodile come on out!"
The Intimidation Pokemon let out a mighty roar when it appeared in front of Clay.
"Hmm that's a pretty impressive Krookodile," Ash said as he unclipped a ball from his belt. "Well let's see how impressive it is against this Pokemon."
Ash threw his ball and his Blastoise appeared in a flash of red.
"Wow that's a pretty impressive Pokemon." Clay said with a whistle.
"You think he's impressive now, watch this." Ash said as he pulled down his sleeve and pressed the stone on his megaring.
Blastoise was engulfed in pink light as it megaevolved. When the light died down the Intimidation Pokemon gulped as it stared down the barrel of Blastoise's massive water cannon.
"Let's get this started!" Ash yelled as he pumped his fist. "Blastoise use Water Pulse."
Blastoise formed a rapidly spinning of ball of water in its hands, and shot it at Krookodile.
"Krookodile use Dig." Krookdile quickly dug into the ground and dodged Blastoise's attack.
"Blastoise use Iron Defense" Blastoise retreated into its shell and raised its defense.
"Krookodile now!"
Just then Krookodile burst out of the ground in front of Blastoise with its fangs glowing.
"Duck and use Hydro Pump." Right before Krookodile's attack landed Blastoise ducked under the attack. Quickly whirling around Blastoise fired off an extremely powerful Hydro Pump. But Blastoise's aim was off and it only grazed Krookodile. Even though it wasn't a direct hit, Krookodile was still sent spiraling to the ground.
"Krookodile get up and use Outrage." Krookodile scrambled to its feet. Suddenly Krookodile was surrounded by a red aura, and its eyes dilated. Then it let out a mighty roar before it charged Blastoise.
"Blastoise grab it then use Skull Bash."
Blastoise raised its arms and caught the stampeding Krookodile. Then Blastoise lowered its head into its shell to raise its attack. Just as Krookodile was about to break free Blastoise's head shot out and collided with Krookodile's face. The Intimidation Pokemon yelled in pain as it clutched its face.
"Now finish this with Flash Cannon." Blastoise zeroed in on Krookodile and fired the attack. Krookodile was hit head on and sent flying across the battlefield, landing in a heap unconscious.
"Krookodile is unable to battle, the winner is Blastoise. Gym leader bring out your next Pokemon."
Clay grabbed his next Pokeball as he watched Ash return Blastoise.
"Alright you whipper snapper let's see if you can go two for two," Clay said as he threw his next ball. "Seismitoad come on out."
The Vibration Pokemon let out a croak as it appeared in front of Clay.
"I know I can go two for two Clay," Ash said with a grin. "Meganium I choose you."
The Herb Pokemon appeared and gave Ash a quick hug before it took a stance for the battle.
"Seismitoad use Hyper Voice." The Sacs on Seismitoad's body inflated before it let out a deafening yell.
"Meganium use Light Screen." Meganium's body glowed as it temporarily raised its special defense.
Meganium braced itself and took the brunt of the Hyper Voice.
"Now let's see if this will work again."
"Again, what is he talking...NO! He can't mean." Clay thoughts were cut off as Ash called out his attack.
"Meganium use Attract." Meganium grinned as it winked at Seismitoad. Hearts surrounded Seismitoad before it was completely infatuated with Meganium.
"AGH! NOT AGAIN!" Clay yelled as he threw his hat on the ground.
"Yes again, now Meganium use Petal Blizzard." Meganium launched a storm of razor sharp pink petals at Seismitoad.
Seismitoad just stared at the oncoming attack with hearts in its eyes. After the attack ended Seismitoad was still standing.
"Meganium finish this with Sunny Day then Solar Beam." Meganium launched a glowing ball into the air, and instantly the battlefield was filled with a blinding light. Then Meganium rapidly charged a Solar Beam and fired it at Seismitoad. Again Seismitoad just watched the attack coming. But this time after the dust died down Seismitoad was out cold.
"Seismitoad is unable to continue, Meganium wins. Gym leader bring out your last Pokemon."
"Well you whipper snapper I'm not going down without a fight. Excadrill time to battle."
The Subterrene Pokemon appeared in front of Clay as it cried out its name.
"This Pokemon has been dying to face you again. Gigalith I choose you."
The Compressed Pokemon shook the field as it landed in front of Ash.
"Excadrill use Horn Drill" Excadrill charged Gigalith with the drill on top of its head rapidly spinning.
"Gigalith use Mud Slap" Gigalith raised one of its front legs and just before Excadrill struck it attacked. Excadrill was sent stumbling back from the force of Gigalith's attack.
"Excadrill recover and use Drill Run." Excadrill formed its body into a massive drill and started flying towards Gigalith.
"Gigalith use Superpower." Gigalith simply swatted Excadrill out of the way with the powerful attack. But Gigalith grunted as its attack and defense were lowered.
"Excadrill use Earthquake." Excadrill groggily stood up and slammed its foot onto the ground.
Gigalith struggled to stand as the entire field shook. After the attack both Pokemon were left panting.
"Gigalith recover and finish this with Earth Power." Gigalith regained its composure and hit Excadrill with a powerful Earth Power. Excadrill couldn't dodge the attack and was instantly knocked unconscious.
"Excadrill is unable to battle, the winner is Gigalith. Since all of the gym leaders Pokemon are unable to battle the winner is the challenger, Ash."
Ash let out a loud cheer before her ran out and hugged Gigalith.
Clay watched and let out a sigh before he slammed his pickaxe into the ground. He then walked over to Ash and shook his hand.
"Well you aren't a champion for nothing you whipper snapper." Clay said with a large grin.
"Hey you weren't so bad yourself old man." Ash said returning the grin."
"Don't you start getting wise with me!" Clay yelled in mock anger, before he and Ash both burst out in laughter.
"You take care of yourself Clay." Ash said as he smiled at the older man.
"Yeah and win this whole damn thing." Clay said returning the smile.
Ash was leading everyone out of the gym when Lyra caught up to him.
"Ash that was an amazing battle!" Lyra yelled in excitement.
Ash blushed slightly at the complement.
"Well it was nothing really." Ash said as he rubbed the back of his head.
"What are you talking about that was." Lyra was cut off when a loud boom rang out in the sky.
Everyone in the group looked up and saw three figure descending from above.
"Chosen One we have come to test you strength." The middle figure said as they appeared in front of the group.
The Forces of Nature had arrived, and they were ready for a fight.
