Cloudtail was escorting one of the Shadowclan prisoners that were going to be questioned. He stumbled as he began speaking. Cloudtail and Firestar were confused about this.
"What is he saying Ashpaw?" Firestar asked for a translation.
"The prisoner is saying that he needs water." Ashpaw replied. Firestar nodded and got out his canteen to help the prisoner out. Darkstripe came over as he seemed angry at Firestar.
"What are you doing?" Darkstripe asked, he seemed to be mad at this moment.
"Giving this prisoner water, he said he hasn't drank anything." Firestar replied. He then helped the prisoner as he began pouring the water down the prisoner's throat. Darkstripe went up and kicked the canteen out of his paws.
"We should not be giving compassion to the prisoners. If we do they might murder us all in the back." Darkstripe mewed as Firestar went to retrieve his canteen. Darkstripe then smacked the prisoner across the face.
"Darkstripe!" Firestar shouted. He ran over to try to restrain Darkstripe so he didn't hurt the prisoner more. Whitestorm went over to help Firestar in restraining Darkstripe. The prisoner was helped back up by Cloudtail but he noticed he dropped some paper on the floor. Cloudtail grabbed it and began to unfold it.
"Wait Firestar, I think the prisoner's got something." Cloudtail told him. He handed Firestar the piece of paper he had managed to find. Firestar tried to make out what it said but he didn't know. Ashpaw then arrived. Firestar knew he needed a translator.
"Ashpaw, what does this say?" Firestar asked Ashpaw. Ashpaw took the paper and began reading it.
"These are orders to plant explosives on the bridge in Remagen. Ordnance is gonna be loaded onto trucks five miles north of here. If I'm reading this right, it's the last bridge standing across the Rhine." Ashpaw told Fireheart that the explosives were going to be loaded onto a truck and taken to blow up the last bridge over the Rhine river. Firestar nodded and he turned to the Shadowclan prisoner.
"Well ain't that something, Fritz?" Firestar asked. The Shadowclan cat nodded yes before Cloudtail took him to the rear. "One giving the order is… Sasha?"
General Patton's 3rd army broke the siege from the southwest but now we're wandering further into enemy territory. We called off the Sasha hunt as we had our own troubles and we lost track of her. Now with a fresh lead, the hunt was back on. Now we just needed to find her and the explosives.
December 27th, 1944, Ardennes Forest, Belgium, 5 miles from Bastogne: 20:38
It was dark that night and they were in position, they were preparing for an ambush. Ravenpaw and Barley had joined up with them to help spring the trap.
"Firestar's ordered us to block the road by bringing down those trees." Cloudtail instructed the group on what their plan was. Some seemed skeptical.
"Where in the Dark Forest is Firestar?" Bramblepaw asked Cloudtail. He seemed curious that his mentor wasn't by his side.
"Probably in some hidey-hole with the detonator." Ashpaw responded. "And his whiskey." Everyone laughed but Firestar was no drinker. Brightheart walked over as she held her Carbine, she decided to join the conversation.
"You know what else gets you drunk?" Brightheart asked the group. The group remained silent as they didn't know what else got them drunk. "Hypothermia." Brightheart responded.
"Not if we keep moving. Brightheart, you're with Firestar's group." Cloudtail mewed to Brightheart. Brightheart gave a nod and she moved away. Ashpaw looked on and he began speaking again.
"Just my luck." Ashpaw mewed to them. Then Whitestorm came up to the group with specific instructions.
"Cloudtail, Ashpaw, you come with me while I set the final charge. Then, we ambush the trucks." Whitestorm instructed. The apprentice listened to the orders while Cloudtail responded.
"Will do." Cloudtail and Ashpaw ready their guns and move to their objectives.
"Good thing we found that intelligence, huh?" Ashpaw began. Cloudtail was more than pleased ever since Patton came to their rescue.
"One step closer to the Rhine." Cloudtail remarked. "We're breathing down Adolf's neck." They continued onward down the path while they continued to talk.
"We just gotta stop those trucks." Ashpaw muttered, they then came to Thornclaw and Barley who had the rest of the explosives ready. Thornclaw approaches a tree and sets the final explosive.
"I got this. Go watch the road for enemy trucks." Thornclaw instructed. Cloudtail nodded as he and Ashpaw moved off to a boulder. Cloudtail nudged the Bipod to his BAR out while Ashpaw got beside him. Now they needed to play the waiting game.
"Hey Ashpaw, do you think we should find some shelter in this freezing cold?" Cloudtail began.
"I hope so, Patton should give us some rest, we've been fighting hard these past few days." Ashpaw replied.
"Yeah. We should get more rest considering how that was interrupted." Cloudtail sighed. He looked down his sights to the BAR to see if there was any movement. Then some headlights flashed on the horizon. Shadowclan was coming.
"There's our signal. Trucks are inbound. Up here, Cloudtail. You have the best view." Ashpaw whispered to him. Cloudtail got up and moved a bit further up as they were going to be right behind Shadowclan.
"We've got Shadowclan transports on the road. Thornclaw, get up here." Cloudtail instructed. Thornclaw made his way up the road to see the Shadowclan convoy rounding the bend and coming into view.
"Hold. Wait until they're in position." Thornclaw whispered to them. He didn't want to open fire at the wrong moment.
"Fritz is in for a surprise." Ashpaw snickered. Firestar was watching the convoy with Sandstorm who was looking out with a pair of binoculars that she had. Shadowclan was just in position for them to attack. She turned her head to Firestar.
"Now." Sandstorm shouted to Firestar. Firestar pushed the plunger, the charges detonated and fell the trees, blocking the Shadowclan convoy from going any further. The Thunderclan cats spring into action, destroying the armored vehicles and shooting any Shadowclan cats. Cloudtail was firing his BAR as he slid down the slope towards the Convoy. Brightheart quickly joined his side, sending everything in her Carbine down into the Shadowclan cats. Firestar and Sandstorm then join in as Thunderclan cats close in on all sides.
"Go, go go! Take those trucks!" Firestar shouted. He continued firing the Carbine while Bramblepaw sprayed the Thompson around. They continued to sweep their way up the road, shooting any Shadowclan cat that moved. They were nearing the end of the convoy. "Mop up those last Krauts by the road!" Firestar instructed. He reloaded his carbine and continued firing. Cloudtail and the others made their way to the front of the convoy, eliminating every Shadowclan cat in their path. The area had been secured.
"All clear, all clear!" Barley gave the order. Firestar nodded and he knew they needed to split up to complete their next objectives.
"Good work." Firestar began. "We're gonna use this truck to infiltrate the enemy airbase and destroy the explosives. Fernpaw, get it ready to move out. Barley, take some of the clan and clear the road. We'll meet up at the airbase." Firestar instructed Barley. They were going to sneak into Shadowclan while they were fast asleep.
"Yes sir." Barley responded. Barley took some of the cats and they began to move up the road. Firestar then turned to see who he was going to take with him.
"Brightheart, you're with me." Firestar instructed.
"Got you." Brightheart mewed. Fernpaw opens the door and gets into an Opel Blitz and shoves a dead Shadowclan cat out of the vehicle.
"Move it, Fritz. I'm driving." Fernpaw mocked the dead Shadowclan cat. She had the vehicle secured. Firestar opens the back door into the vehicle, allowing Cloudtail and the rest of their group to ride in the truck. They drove off into the night. Barley was bound to meet up with them some place outside of the gate.
It would be a few hours of slow driving later as Cloudtail and the others were riding in the captured Opel Blitz with Firestar, Sandstorm and Goldenflower behind them in a jeep. Both vehicles come to a complete stop as Cloudtail and the others hop out of the truck and walk over to Firestar and Sandstorm.
"We'll be coming through the gates at 03:00. Find a high vantage to cover our assault so we can take out those last trucks. Hey, keep it quiet and watch for patrols. Barley and his group shouldn't be far. Let's move!" Firestar told the group to split up so they could attack at an unexpected angle and keep Shadowclan occupied. Cloudtail, Longtail and Tawnypaw hopped out with Firestar giving some last words. "Hopefully I can trust you Cloudtail to get the job done.
"I'll do it." Cloudtail responded.
"Good, make me proud." Firestar mewed. The vehicles continue on with Cloudtail, Longtail and Tawnypaw, who then carry on, on foot. The three of them pushed their way through some bushes and they stopped. Cloudtail got out the binoculars to see what was up ahead. Ahead was an airbase that Shadowclan was occupying.
"The base is up ahead." Cloudtail told the group. He began to move out along with the group to see if they could find a vantage point where they could shoot the Shadowclan cats down without getting noticed. They then stopped as Cloudtail scanned the area, he got out the binoculars and began looking through to see where they could attack. "There's our two high points near the front gate. Must be a few ways to sneak in." Tawnypaw looked around to see a sewer pipe running beneath the base.
"We can enter through the sewer pipe." Tawnypaw suggested.
"I'm not the one to get covered in sewage. I hope it's rock hard." Longtail replied. They began to make their way to the sewer pipe. They then reached a grate wondering how they were going to get open. Cloudtail pushed on it and the gate opened, Shadowclan didn't have it bolted down.
"Yeah we should be through." Tawnypaw mewed. Cloudtail pulled himself out of the sewer and decided to hush them.
"Quiet. Krauts are everywhere." Cloudtail whispered to Tawnypaw. He pulled her out of the sewer pipe along with Longtail. Now they needed to find the vantage point where Longtail could do his work.
"All right. Now we need to find a spot for me." Longtail whispered to them. Now they needed to find a way to get to their desired location without getting noticed. Longtail pulled out his silenced Welrod pistol. Cloudtail and Tawnypaw pulled out their knives. "Remember, keep quiet." Longtail whispered again. He was instructing them not to get noticed. The three cats began to move out together to find where they needed to go.
Cloudtail spotted a Shadowclan cat minding his own business. He went up to it and covered its mouth with his paw. Swiftly plunging the knife into his throat. One down, many more to go. They continued on their way, hiding behind a truck as one of the trucks departed the area, they decided to wait until the truck left the scene so Shadowclan didn't find them out. The truck then left which gave them the opportunity to move forward. Cloudtail went up to another Shadowclan cat and sliced its throat open. Tawnypaw tackled and stabbed another one. Longtail looked on to see who he could take out himself.
"We're on mission, but we need to stay quiet." Cloudtail told the group that they were infiltrating their way through the airfield. They continued to walk as if they didn't want to get noticed. Tawnypaw turned her head to see someone walking away.
"Look! There's the base commander." Tawnypaw whispered to them. Cloudtail and Longtail looked at the commander. He certainly didn't look like Tigerstar so it meant that Tigerstar and his cronies were further down in this camp. Now they needed to track him down and kill him.
Cloudtail snuck on through with the others. A shadowclan cat turned around and spotted them. Longtail shot his Welrod, taking that cat down. They continued on through after Tawnypaw sliced another Shadowclan cat's neck open. The commander was walking down the stairs as Longtail was right behind the commander as he lifted the welrod and shot it, killing the commander. Cloudtail and Tawnypaw arrived to see its dead body.
"That should make our assault easier. We need to find a high vantage point so we can help destroy those explosives." Tawnypaw whispered. The others nodded as they continued to sneak their way through the base. The three of them tried their best to move quietly in order to avoid detection. One of the Shadowclan cats turned around to see anything but there was nothing, he continued his patrol. The group find their way to the radio tower upon which was a perfect vantage point.
"Everyone follow me." Cloudtail instructed. He began to lead the way up the radio tower in the freezing cold. He gripped the bars and began to climb up with Longtail and Tawnypaw following behind. They got to the top with them shivering, they were freezing in the snow. Moving was certainly going to keep them warm but for now they needed to sit still.
"Hold your fire. Firestar's squad will be assaulting the gate soon. Scout the area, look for targets." Tawnypaw instructed Longtail and Cloudtail. Longtail got out the scoped Springfield and began looking down the scope. Cloudtail observed Shadowclan cats loading the explosives into the truck. "Explosives are being loaded into those trucks."
Blackfoot was loading some explosives into the truck with Russetfur, Rowanpaw and Jaggedtooth.
"It's cold out here.' Blackfoot shivered. "I wish I was cuddled under a blanket at this point, I've been up for almost an entire day."
"Yeah Tigerstar is in bed with Sasha and we're doing all of the hard work in the cold." Rowanpaw mewed with no satisfaction to his work.
"At this point I'm ready to desert and fight Shadowclan myself to get the old clan spirit back. Ever since Tigerstar came along, we haven't felt like we've been winning this war." Blackfoot mewed his intentions on leaving Shadowclan and meeting up with those that opposed the regime and fight with them.
"Please don't tell me you want to leave?" Jaggedtooth asked Blackfoot that his morale had been lost.
"Tigerstar is asking for all loyal cats to Kitler to keep fighting and you want to join the enemy?" Russetfur also added that if Blackfoot was taking a chance to leave, then he would be deserting his friends.
"We lost the war at this point, we might as well surrender if we still can." Blackfoot told the others what's the point in this war.
"You're Tigerstar's best right hand cat and you want to leave him?" Russetfur responded. "You seem to be…" Russetfur paused when she heard a sound that didn't seem normal. "Do you hear that?" She asked. All of the sudden, an explosion ripped through the gate as Firestar and his group began firing away. Tawnypaw turned to Longtail as Cloudtail began firing his BAR to support Firestar's advance.
"Look right. Firestar's in position at the gate." Tanwypaw told Longtail to begin firing to help Cloudtail out. Longtail looks through his scoped Springfield rifle to see Firestar's truck approaching the gate and breaking through. A rocket is fired from the truck, destroying the guard tower and allowing Firestar's team to assault the base.
"Firestar's advancing to the trucks. They're moving up! Cover them!" Cloudtail told Longtail. Longtail nodded and he began firing his rifle away at the Shadowclan cats that wanted a piece of Firestar. The Shadowclan cats were surprised as Tigerstar and Sasha came out to begin the evacuation. One of the Shadowclan cats hopped into an Opel Blitz and started up the truck. The truck contained the explosives meant to destroy the bridge on the Rhine. The Shadowclan truck begins to leave the area with the explosives loaded.
"We gotta stop that truck! Shoot the driver!" Tawnypaw told Longtail to shoot the driver up. The truck was backing away as Longtail turned his rifle to the truck. He aimed and fired, sniping the driver in the Opel Blitz. A Shadowclan sniper takes up position on the rooftop of the building next to the truck. "Second floor! On the balcony." Tawnypaw shouted to Longtail. She fired her rifle while Longtail turned the gun and spotted the enemy sniper. He fired and shot the Sniper down.
"Support Firestar! Firestar's pinned down. Help him get to the explosives." Cloudtail instructed Longtail as he reloaded his BAR. Cloudtail continued to fire in an effort to support his uncle. Longtail reloaded the rifle as quickly as he could before he went back to firing. Firestar and Thornclaw reach the first truck and throw some dynamite sticks into it before running off.
"Firestar's at the first truck!" Tawnypaw told Longtail. Longtail continued to fire as Firestar and his team destroyed the first truck. "They destroyed the lead truck! Let's move to the next position! Follow me!" Tawnypaw instructed. She hopped over the balcony and slid down the roof. Cloudtail followed her as Longtail followed last. They landed in a pile of fluffy white snow as they continued to run. They got to the gate as Brightheart arrived by their side.
"Our group is on our right!" Cloudtail mewed. Brightheart began speaking to them.
"Firestar wants us to take that tower and provide overwatch. We need that tower! The tower is dead ahead." Brightheart instructed. Cloudtail nodded as he was going to need the help.
"Come with us, we'll need you." Cloudtail told Brightheart. Brightheart nodded as Cloudtail began to lead the way. Longtail grabbed a Sturmgewehr from the snow and some spare magazines as he was going to be fighting up close. The four cats began in a fierce firefight with all of them firing off as many rounds of ammo as they could. Many Shadowclan cats were shot up in the mess. Cloudtail and Longtail entered the building and began shooting up the Shadowclan cats trying to take shelter from the cold. They continued to run on through, reloading as they went. They came out to the other side while Tawnypaw was firing a M30 drilling shotgun as her rifle ran out of ammo.
"This way." Tawnypaw told the group. She began to lead them to the watch tower. Cloudtail threw out a smoke grenade behind him to mask their movement as they raced their way up the tower.
"Let's get up there, Cloudtail!" Brightheart told Cloudtail as they went into the watchtower. Tawnypaw and Longtail turned to guard the tower.
"We'll hold the entrance!" Longtail told the two of them. Cloudtail and Brightheart move their way to the upper tower to seize what they needed to get as they were going to help Firestar get to the second truck. They made it to the top as Brightheart fired and killed the machine gunner operating the MG42.
"Get on that 42, Cloudtail! Firestar's team is pinned!" Brightheart instructed. Cloudtail got on the MG42 and began firing away at the Shadowclan cats that tried to raise their heads from behind cover.
"Target's moving! Behind the sandbags!" Brightheart instructed, Cloudtail turned the Machine gun and began firing in that direction, Three Shadowclan cats were torn apart by the machine gun fire. Brightheart looked around for more targets. "There! By the plane!" Brightheart called out. Cloudtail turned the machine gun and began firing in that direction too. Firestar and his team began moving up in their effort to destroy the last truck. "Firesrar's moving up! Cover him!" Brightheart told Cloudtail to continue covering for him. Cloudtail continued firing away the Machine gun as the Shadowclan cats began to fall back. However a Shadowclan tank exits the Hanger.
"Firestar's falling back." Cloudtail called out. He continued to fire the machine gun away while Brightheart looked around for more targets. She spotted the tank and decided to warn Cloudtail.
"Enemy tank!" Brightheart shouted. The Shadowclan tank turns its main gun on the tower with Cloudtail and Brightheart still on the balcony. Brightheart knew they were done for. "THE TANK'S TARGETING US! Get down!" Brightheart shouted, they both ducked down and braced for impact. The Shadowclan tank fires at the tower, causing an explosion to knock Cloudtail and Brightheart over the edge. Cloudtail tries to grab onto a ledge as Brightheart grabs him, but they both fall to the ground and are knocked unconscious. Cloudtail woke up moments later as Thunderclan and Shadowclan cats wrestled each other. Shadowclan attempted to escape as Thunderclan cats rounded up Sasha.
"Okay we got you, if you cooperate, we're going to take you somewhere safe. Don't try any funny business with us." Firestar told Sasha that they had captured her. However Darkstripe had a different objective. He quickly bashed Firestar in the head with the stock of the rifle and pulled Sasha away and hopped into a jeep. They raced off after Tigerstar. Firestar got up and realized that not only was Sasha gone but Darkstripe too. Cloudtail and Brightheart got up and the group was debating on what to do.
"We can't just let her slip away again. We need to go after them." Whitestorm told Firestar that they were now torn on what to do, go after Darkstripe or finish the mission.
"Mission comes first Whitestorm." Firestar told him. Sandstorm then arrived by Firestar's side with Cloudtail and Brightheart.
"We can't let him get away. Think of something fast." Sandstorm told Firestar that he needed to come up with an idea or they'll risk losing Sasha and Darkstripe altogether.
"Okay. I have an idea." Firestar began. "I'll go after Darkstripe with Goldenflower, Brightheart, Sandstorm and Cloudtail. Bramblepaw, you follow Whitestorm and blow up the second truck. We'll be back in the morning." Firestar instructed. They began to move out to the truck. "Goldenflower, take the wheel, Cloudtail get on the gun." Cloudtail hopped onto the rear where the .30 caliber machine gun was located. Goldenflower slammed her paw on the accelerator and drove off. Now they were going to find Darkstripe.
Darkstripe was driving as fast as he could as he wanted to return Sasha to his friend. He was following the truck where Tigerstar and his friends were on but unaware of him, he was being followed by Firestar and his group. Firestar had the speed advantage and they were quickly gaining on him.
"Don't worry, I'm getting you out of here. I'll get you to Tigerstar. The Mouse-brained Kittypet won't know what hit him." Darkstripe told Sasha. He spotted lights up ahead as it was Tigerstar's truck, driving off with the Shadowclan cats. He honked the horn to let Tigerstar know he was coming. Another horn sounded but it didn't sound like Tigerstar's. Darkstripe looked behind to see another pair of headlights. It was Firestar and his small group, they were chasing Darkstripe down
"Get the Dark Forest out of my way!" Goldenflower shouted. She picked up speed as her jeep was quickly chewing the distance down between the two jeeps.
"Oh no." Darkstripe called out. He sped up to try to get closer to Tigerstar so they could pull him and Sasha on board. Firestar however had other ideas.
"Don't let him reach Tigerstar." Firestar began. He turned to Cloudtail who was on the machine gun. "Shoot that jeep Darkstripe has up. Aim for the tires." Firestar instructed Cloudtail. Cloudtail nodded as he began firing bursts from the machine gun in order to damage one of the tires to get Darkstripe to slow down. Darkstripe tried to outwit the incoming fire but he wasn't so used to driving the jeep. He nearly hit a tree and swerved away to avoid a collision.
"That was close. Mouse-dung!" Darkstripe muttered to himself. The machine gun fire from Cloudtail wasn't working as he had drained a good chunk of it out.
"The machine gun isn't doing the job, we need to run Darkstripe off the road." Cloudtail told Firestar. The two jeeps went onto the same road as Firestar knew he had to hatch together a new plan on how they could catch Darkstripe.
"Goldenflower, slam the jeep into the side, we're knocking Darkstripe off the road." Firestar told her. He and Sandstorm got up and went to where the machine gun was while Goldenflower sped up. They came alongside Darkstripe's jeep, Firestar was judging the moment when they could strike. "Now." Firestar called out. Goldenflower slammed the jeep into Darkstripe's jeep." Darkstripe lost control of the jeep and it began to flip over. Sasha was ejected out and landed in a patch of snow. Darkstripe slammed into the road as he flipped along the ground as the jeep was totaled from the amount of damage it received and ended up being a flaming wreck. Goldenflower slammed her paw on the brakes as the jeep came to a complete stop. Now was the time to assess the damage.
Cloudtail and Brightheart picked Sasha up who was thankfully unharmed and brought her back to the jeep. Darkstripe had seen better days as he was horribly mangled from the wreckage, bleeding all over the ground, he was weak from his wounds. Firestar walked over to him as he was pissed at Darkstripe.
"You disobeyed a direct order." Firestar told Darkstripe that he attempted to bring a valuable target back to their worst enemy.
"Then, I guess you better court martial me." Darkstripe rasped weakly. He didn't have the strength to lift his paw up. Firestar walks closer until he stands completely over Darkstripe.
"Desertion is a capital offense. So, maybe I should just do us all a favor and finish the job." Firestar hissed quietly. He reached for the pistol he had in his holster with the intention of shooting and killing Darkstripe on the spot.
"Firestar!" Cloudtail called out. Firestar dropped his paw from the holster as he didn't want to be freezing out there. He kneeled down onto Darkstripe as he had a few last words for him.
"It's over Darkstripe. You got no place in my platoon." Firestar told Darkstripe that he was kicking him out of the platoon. Cloudtail and Brightheart rush over to Firestar. He turned and began speaking to them. "Get him out of my face. Leave Darkstripe for dead." They nodded and they walked back to the jeep. Darkstripe turned his head with whatever strength he had left to watch Firestar and the group drive off with Sasha. Darkstripe had failed everyone.
Firestar was now back at the airbase as the sun was rising overhead, reinforcements had joined up to help secure the area. Firestar had calmed down as he sat down with Smallear and Cloudtail to enjoy some breakfast. Smallear was ecstatic by the news.
"So you caught Sasha, what did she have to say?" Smallear asked as he was sipping his Coffee.
"She said everything we needed her to say. She told us that they were blowing up some bridges over the Rhine. Good thing we blew up the explosives. They were going to be used to blow up the bridge." Firestar responded. Smallear nodded with approval.
"And Darkstripe deserted, did you find him?" Smallear asked Firestar.
"No we haven't. But we got done what needed to be done. We have Sasha and the information we need." Firestar responded. He was still unsettled by the events that happened hours ago.
"Good. You get extra as Sasha came back unharmed. That was the most important of the tasks." Smallear told Firestar. "I think I might as well place you somewhere safe so you can rest up. You've had a few very difficult days to get through and it has been done. I think I should properly reward you for all of your hard work." Smallear told them. Cloudtail giggled slightly as he was warming up in the hanger.
"We appreciate the rest." Firestar replied. Smallear nodded as he knew something else was up. Longtail entered as he was carrying the plates for their breakfast.
"But the one question that remains is with Darkstripe gone, who's going to finish Fernpaw's training?" Smallear asked. Firestar began to think as Longtail passed out the plates of food to the others. Firestar had an idea.
"Hey Longtail, can you stay for a moment?" Firstar asked.
"Sure, what is it?" Longtail asked. Firestar began to think about it when he had the idea in his head.
"With Darkstripe gone from the group, want to finish up Fernpaw's training?" Firestar asked Longtail if he would be more than pleased to help.
"I'll be more than pleased to complete her training." Longtail mewed with excitement. He is proud to help pick the pieces up from where Darkstripe had left off.
"Thank you." Firestar mewed. "Also, thanks for your effort last night, we couldn't have done it without you."
"No problem." Longtail responded. He walked away from the scene while everyone went to have their breakfast. Firestar knew things were looking up but the war was far from over.
[A/N]: Firestar has also completed a valuable mission and captured a prisoner that is going to help them. Now the next few chapters aren't going to be anything severe but Firestar overcoming the final obstacles that lay in his path. It'll take him somewhere where he isn't expecting it to take him.
