"One year ago we stormed these very beaches. One year ago we had to wade through the blood of our own dead. One year ago, we began the mission to free those from tyranny that held the entire continent. To those that have died in the road that brought us to where we are now: Redtail, Rosetail, Lionheart, Spottedleaf, Tulipkit, Elderkit, Oakheart, Silverstream, Runningwind, Mistlekit, Snowkit, Patchpelt, Halftail, Yellowfang, Swiftpaw, Brindleface, Bluestar, Stonefur, Gorsepaw and Whitestorm." Firestar mewed to himself.

June 6th, 1945, Cherbourg, France: 11:24

Firestar and Sandstorm were looking over the port as the troop ships were packing everyone up and preparing to take them home. Thunderclan and Windclan cats marching up to the ships and returning to where they came from.

"Happy the war is over?" Sandstorm asked. Firestar looked ahead of him.

"Yes I am, I'll be more than excited to head for home." Firestar responded.

"You'll be more than happy to stay with me in Brindleface's estate. I got the rights to the property as she is my mother." Sandstorm told Firestar.

"You said that Redtail was your father too?" Firestar asked. He wanted to make sure this was correct.

"Yeah he is. I guess I'll let you make yourself a home." Sandstorm told him. She saw his chest which he was given a couple of medals. "You got a Silver star for your efforts over these last few months. Patton was more than proud to give it to you."

"I know, you have a bronze one. I think if we still have a long career road ahead, we should find out what else we can be rewarded by." Firestar told Sandstorm. Cloudtail appeared with Brightheart who had been rewarded with three medals of her own. Firestar was amazed by the number of rewards his nephew had gotten.

"Cloudtail I'm impressed, Bronze stars, Silver stars, Smallear must've really liked you." Firestar told his nephew.

"He did, Smallear told me I was the bravest out of all the Thunderclan cats. If Bluestar was here, I think she said I would have been the best in the entire platoon." Cloudtail told Firestar all about it. Firestar continued studying Cloudtail;s medals and noticed one thing standing out on him.

"Smallear was more than eager to give you a medal of honor. You did a lot this past year and I'm proud of that." Firestar mewed. He patted his nephew on the head. Cloudtail and Brightheart turned away as they began walking away as Dustpelt approached Firestar with some good news.

"Firestar something exciting has happened. Fernpaw proposed to me to marry her." Dustpelt began. Firestar looked over to his friend to see what was up.

"Yeah I want to see what she proposed to you about, I can see you two were obviously close." Firestar replied.

"That isn't the only thing exciting, Fernpaw is expecting my kits." Dustpelt told Firestar what else was happening.

"Congrats Dustpelt. I see why you wanted to marry her." Firestar told Dustpelt.

"I know, I'm bringing her to my place along with Ashpaw. I'm going to be scouring for houses to raise our family." Dustpelt told Firestar. Firestar nodded as Fernpaw walked over.

"We plan on being one big happy family, I hope the day that you and Cloudtail have kits of your own, we can arrange something to get them to play together. The platoon has to stick together." Fernpaw told Firestar. Firestar hugged Fernpaw in his happy response.

"Your words are true. Hopefully we can end up in the same neighborhood." Firestar replied. Cloudtail walked over next as he had more news.

"Firestar, I think I'm taking Brightheart over to Princess' house so we can enjoy Coney for the summer, you think you all want to come along too?" Cloudtail told Firestar.

"Sure we can make arrangements." Firestar replied. Sandstorm came over next.

"Firestar you want to board the boat, I'm inheriting Brindleface's house." Sandstorm told Firestar. Firestar walked away as he knew that the boat needed to wait for a bit.

"Not yet, there's someone I still want to say goodbye to." Firestar replied. Sandstorm nodded as Firestar made his way to Tawnypaw and Bramblepaw. "Hey you two want a last minute chat before we head home?" Firestar asked. Tawnypaw just smiled.

"I'm not going on that boat to go home Firestar. I'm already home. Blackfoot accepted me into his ranks to be in charge of Western Shadowclan." Tawnypaw told Firestar. "Crazy isn't half of the character I am."

"So you plan on staying?" Firestar asked.

"Yeah I do. I want to continue doing my part." Tawnypaw told Firestar. Firestar nodded and he turned to Bramblepaw. He walked over and wanted to speak to him.

"I see you got yourself a Bronze Star. What do you plan on doing when you get home?" Firestar asked Bramblepaw.

"I don't think I have a home." Bramblepaw began. "With Tigerstar dead and my mother still at that mental Asylum, I have nowhere to go." Firestar paused as Bramblepaw will most likely end up homeless as he had no family to look up to.

"Maybe we can work something out and help you get on your paws." Firestar told him. Hopefully we can get you something to work at and an apartment until your situation improves." Firestar told him. Bramblepaw looked up as he seemed excited.

"You will? I am more than happy. Thank you so much Firestar." Bramblepaw mewed. He hugged his mentor. "Remember if you decide to drop by to visit, I should hopefully have something ready for you. Maybe I'll surprise you at Brindleface's estate." He was more than happy that he was going to help him out.

"You're more than welcome to drop by anytime." Firestar told Bramblepaw. Tawnypaw came over with more news.

"I got a message from Erica, she and Anna are heading back to Aachen. Aachen lies in our zone so we can help rebuild their homes." Tawnypaw told Firestar. Firestar nodded as they prepared to leave.

"Nice. We need to go, Tawnypaw, write to us when you have the chance." Firestar told Tawnypaw. Tawnypaw waved goodbye as she was going to miss them.

"Goodbye." Tawnypaw mewed. Blackfoot walked up alongside her as they watched the troop ships leave.

"Firestar is going to be the one I will miss the most, he got us Shadowclan back. The Shadowclan I want." Blackfoot told Tawnypaw. They nodded as the troop ships pulled out from port. Cloudtail was standing on the stern as the ship pulled away.

"Queens! Your prodigal son returns!" Cloudtail shouted. He was finally heading home to see Dart, Princess and all of his friends that he made during this war.

Two weeks later, Oneonta, New York

Bramblepaw drove Firestar and Sandstorm up to Brindleface's house. They got out of the car as Firestar mewed to Bramblepaw.

"Thanks for driving us home." Firestar began. Bramblepaw nodded. Once they had got off. Bramblepaw drove away to seek new adventures of his own. Sandstorm went up to the door.

"I hope we can get into the house." Sandstorm mewed. She placed the key into the lock and opened the door up. She and Firestar walked in, the lights were off as Sandstorm flicked the switch on.

"This was exactly how she left it when she went to Thunderclan for the war." Sandstorm told Firestar. Sandstorm ran over to the couch and flopped onto it. Firestar looked at her with excitement.

"I really can't say that you're more than happy to be home." Firestar giggled. He sat down on the couch and fluffed Sandstorm's fur up. "So we're going to get something good tonight and restock the entire place with food."

"Yeah, Brindleface took all of the food and gave it to Thunderclan so it didn't spoil." Sandstorm told Firestar what she did to prevent the place smelling like decomposing plants and flesh.

"Smart of her." Firestar mewed to Sandstorm.

"I'll give you a tour of the place and show you my room. And when we do have a family here. We need to tell them stories about our adventures. Maybe get our kits following in our pawsteps." Sandstorm proposed to Firestar that they should have their kits the same way they perform their tasks.

"That is if you still want to marry me." Firestar laughed at Sandstorm's request. Firestar huffed as he was watching the sun disappear from the sky. The bright colors bring warmth to them after many months of being out in the cold. Firestar was the fire that ended up saving the platoon much like the sun bringing life to the world.

They were free cats at last.

[A/N]: I kind of want to apologize for this chapter being a short one but it is the end of the remaster after all and all good things sadly come to an end. Everyone is heading for home and new adventures await them. Firestar and Sandstorm having an entire house to themselves as their reward for both making it through this mess.

I would like to say thank you to those that have followed me when I was writing this. We went from 36,209 words to a little over a 100k. I think I should begin remaking some of my older stories when I get the chance and add more to them. What do you guys think? I would like to hear what you have to say.

"We are gathered here, representatives of the major warring powers, to conclude a solemn agreement, whereby peace may be restored. It is my earnest hope, and indeed the hope of all mankind, that from this solemn occasion, a better world shall emerge out of the blood and carnage of the past. A world founded upon faith and understanding, of man and the fulfillment of his most cherished wish, of freedom, tolerance and justice." Douglas MacArthur.

In memory of the 85 million people that perished in WW2.

I hope to see you all in the next fanfic. Goodbye for now. Thanks.
