"I wish to battle Xerneas again. If you can beat me with Xerneas, I will join you."
"*Sigh* How did I know you'd have some stupid condition that I'd have to meet?" Ash groaned out, as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "Fine you can battle Xerneas again, but when you lose I don't want to hear one complaint from you."
"You won't hear any complaints from me, because I don't plan on losing." Yveltal said, leaning his head down to Ash's height.
"Whatever you say buddy." Ash said with a shrug, as he dug through his backpack. "Damn it where the hell is it?! I could've sworn I had his Cherish Ball on me!"
"Great job 'O Chosen One', you've misplaced a one of kind, legendary Pokemon." Yveltal said in a mocking tone, as he sneered at Ash.
"Shut up you bastard!" Ash exclaimed, as he continued to rifle through his bag. "I know this fucking thing is in here!...Wait!...AHA! I found it!" Ash held the Cherish Ball ball above his head triumphantly. "I told you I had it on me, you giant red prick!"
"What did you call me, you little worm!" Yveltal roared, making everyone but Ash jump back in fear.
"Oh, you want to go!" Ash yelled, butting head with the massive legendary Pokemon.
"There is nothing more that I'd rather do, than to wipe you're ass out of existence!" Yveltal exclaimed, continuing to butt heads with Ash. "You're just lucky that Father Arceus would have my ass if I killed you! But keep trying my patience, and I will do much worse than simply kill you!"
"I'd like to see you try!" Ash exclaimed, glaring at Yveltal.
"Uh, Ash does realize that, that thing could kill him in the blink of an eye, right?" Lyra asked with a sweatdrop, as she watched Ash and Yveltal bicker like children.
"Well this is Ash we're talking about." Iris groaned, as she ran her hand down her face. "If he keeps doing stupid shit like this, I'll be surprised if he lives to see thirty."
"I came to fight Xerneas, not some little pissant like you." Yveltal said with a throaty growl. "Bring Xerneas out now, or I'm leaving."
"Fine," Ash said as he enlarged Xerneas' Cherish Ball. "Man you're one whiny bitch."
"Tch, just shut up so we can get this battle started." Yveltal said in an annoyed tone.
"Xerneas I choose you!" Ash exclaimed, throwing out Xerneas' Cherish Ball. The ball opened, releasing a brilliant pink light. As the light died down the Life Pokemon appeared in front of Ash. Xerneas looked around for a moment, before turning its head to look at Ash.
"Chosen One, why have you called upon me?" Xerneas asked in a confused tone.
"Because of him." Ash said in an annoyed tone, pointing behind Xerneas.
"What are you," Xerneas stopped speaking when it spotted Yveltal. The Life Pokemon immediately started to glare at the Destruction Pokemon. "Oh, it's you. What could you possibly want?"
"I wish to battle you again, Xerneas. If you can defeat me again, I shall follow the Chosen One on his journey on his noble journey." Yveltal explained in a mocking tone, earning a snicker from Xerneas.
"If you want to lose again so badly, I'll accept your silly battle." Xerneas said, its antlers glowing in the sunlight. "But be warned, I don't plan on holding anything back."
"Good, I want you to be going all out when I defeat you." Yveltal said, as it propelled itself into the air. "Let's get started, shall we?"
"I'm ready to begin when you are Chosen One." Xerneas said, turning its head to look at Ash.
"Alright! I'm ready to kick some ass!" Ash exclaimed, as a grin spread across his face. "Xerneas start this battle off with Geomancy." The Life Pokemon began to glow bright green, as it gathered energy from the surrounding area.
"HA! You left yourself wide open!" Yveltal roared, flapping its wings and firing a massive beam of red energy.
"That's Oblivion Wing! Xerneas you have to dodge!" Ash yelled, as the red beam raced towards Xerneas.
"Fool Xerneas cannot move while gathering energy. I shall strike the first blow!" Yveltal said, uttering a dark chuckle.
But to Yveltal's complete shock, Xerneas jumped out of Oblivion Wing's path right before it hit. The Destruction Pokemon snarled, when he noticed Xerneas chewing on something.
"I guess you didn't know that Xerneas had a white herb, did you?" Ash asked with a wide smirk. Yveltal only growled in reply, as it circled over Xerneas and Ash. "Xerneas retaliate with Thunder."
Sparks formed between Xerneas' antlers, as it gathered electrical energy. After a few moments the electricity began to course throughout Xerneas' entire body. Once it had gathered enough electricity, Xerneas fired a blinding stream of electricity at Yveltal. Since it was enhanced by Geomancy, Thunder was even larger and much more powerful. Despite its size, Yveltal was very fast and nimble. The Destruction Pokemon had managed to dodge most of the attack, but some stray electricity had clipped its massive wings.
"Damn it! That hurt!" Yveltal grunted out, as it felt the sting of the electricity in his wing.
"Oh, should I stop then?" Xerneas asked in a condescending tone.
"Let's see you talk in that tone after I beat you!" Yveltal roared, sending powerful shockwaves through the air.
"AH! That's Hyper Voice." Ash said through clenched teeth, as he covered his ears. "X-Xerneas use G-Gravity."
The Life Pokemon roared, as its antlers began to glow bright white. Seconds later the entire area was filled with an intense amount of gravity. Ash and Xerneas managed to stay standing on shaky legs, while the rest of the group was forced to the ground. The massive amount of gravity stopped Yveltal's attack, and sent the legendary Pokemon crashing into the ground. Yveltal grunted, as it strained against the gravity forcing it to the ground. With great effort, Yveltal managed to lift its head off the ground, its eyes glowing bright blue.
"Oh no! That's Psychic!" Ash yelled, as he watched Xerneas get lifted into the air. The Life Pokemon had no time to prepare, before it was slammed into the ground repeatedly by Yveltal.
After a few moments Yveltal stopped smashing Xerneas into the ground, and dropped its head to back to the ground. The Destruction Pokemon was panting heavily, as it watched Xerneas struggle get back onto its feet.
"Come on Xerneas! I know you can do this!" Ash exclaimed, trying to encourage the injured legendary Pokemon. Inspired by its trainer's words, Xerneas gave a mighty roar and stood back up.
"Damn it! I was hoping that would keep you down until this gravity wore off." Yveltal grunted out, as it again began to fight against the gravity holding it down.
"Xerneas use Moonblast!" The Life Pokemon snorted, as it began to gather fairy energy from the surrounding area. A rapidly spinning pink sphere started to in front of Xerneas' mouth. Once the sphere was large enough, Xerneas fired it at Yveltal. The pink sphere flew towards the Destruction Pokemon, but before Moonblast could hit Gravity wore off. With the Gravity no longer holding it down, Yveltal pushed itself off the ground and took to the air.
"*Sigh* Of course Gravity wore off at the worst possible time." Xerneas said, watching Yveltal circle overhead.
"Heh, I'll to make sure you don't do that again." Yveltal said, as its eyes began to flow blue.
"What's he do-GAH!" Xerneas grunted in pain, as Yveltal's move hit.
"Xerneas, what did Yveltal do?" Ash asked, worry evident in his voice.
"The sneaky bastard used Disable, now I can't use Gravity on him again." Xerneas replied, glaring at Yveltal.
"That's fine, we'll don't need that move to win. Xerneas use Aurora Beam!"
The air around Xerneas began to chill, as it charged up Aurora Beam. After a few more moments, Xerneas fired a beautiful stream of rainbow colored ice energy at Yveltal. Still sluggish from the effects of Gravity, Yveltal was too slow to dodge the attack. Aurora Beam hit dead on, and sent the Destruction Pokemon crashing to the ground. Xerneas walked up to the downed legendary Pokemon, and saw that it was barely conscious.
"It doesn't look like he can continue fighting. Looks like we've won this battle." Xerneas said, turning its head to look at Ash.
"Well alright! Great job Xerneas!" Ash exclaimed with a grin, patting the large legendary Pokemon's leg.
"Damn you Xerneas." Yveltal said weakly, turning its head to look at the Life Pokemon. "I really thought that I could beat you this time."
"Better luck next time, my old friend." Xerneas said with a small smile.
"How many times do I have to tell you, we're not friends!" Yveltal yelled, making Xerneas chuckle.
"Whatever you say buddy. If you ever want to battle me again, all you have to do is ask." Xerneas said, before Ash returned him to his Cherish Ball.
"*Sigh* I guess you're going to capture me now?" Yveltal asked, as Ash walked up Cherish ball in hand.
"Well we that was part of the deal." Ash said with a smile, as he kneeled in front of the Destruction Pokemon. "Trust me you'll have a great time, and I bet we'll be good friends in no time."
"Tch, whatever you say 'O great Chosen One.' Just catch me already." Yveltal said, closing its eyes.
"And we're definitely gonna have to work on that attitude of yours." Ash said with a frown, tapping Yveltal with the Cherish Ball. The Destruction Pokemon was sucked into the ball in a flash of red light. The ball shook once before it pinged in Ash's hand. "You may be a pain the ass sometimes, but I won't give up on you." Ash clipped the ball to his belt, and turned to the rest of his group.
"Shit that hurt." Iris cursed, as she stood up on shaky legs. "That Gravity sure was intense."
"You can say that again." Dawn commented, rubbing her sore legs. "My legs are killing me."
"Uh, can someone help me up please. My legs kinda feel asleep." Lyra said with a nervous chuckle, as she rubbed the back of her head in embarassment.
"Sure thing Lyra!" Ash said with a grin, as he carefully pulled Lyra to her feet. "Can you stand?"
"Yeah, just give me a sec." Lyra said, as she stretched her legs. "Thanks for that Ash."
"No problem Lyra." Ash said, as he put Yveltal's Cherish Ball in his back.
"That was a very impressive battle Ash. Xerneas is quite an impressive Pokemon." Cilan said with a smile, as he pulled out a digital map. "So where are we heading to next?"
"I was thinking that we could head to Opelucid City for my last gym battle in Unova." Ash answered, causing Cilan to raise an eyebrow.
"You didn't challenge the Opelucid City gym on your first run through Unova. Why challenge it now?" Cilan asked in a confused tone.
"Yeah, why not challenge the Nacrene City gym again?" Iris asked, also slightly confused.
"Well no offense to Lenora, unless she got all new Pokemon, I could probably steamroll her team with no trouble." Ash said with a shrug of his shoulders. "I figured I'd try a new gym, have a little challenge."
"I guess that makes sense." Cilan said, as he started to look up directions to Opelucid City.
"Are you sure Ash? The Opelucid City leader gym is pretty tough. I should know, I've battled him a few times." Iris said, earning a chuckle from Ash.
"I'm sure I can handle him Iris." Ash said with a smirk.
"Iris is right Ash. Drayden is no joke, and he's certainly no push over." Roxie explained, siding with Iris. "Don't think you can beat him so easily."
"Drayden?! I've heard of him!" Flannery exclaimed in shock. "They say he's the strongest gym leader in Unova, and that he's one of the world's greatest dragon trainers!"
"Tch, I'm a way better dragon trainer than him now." Iris said, placing her hands on her hips. "My dragons could battle circles around his, especially my precious Haxorus."
"If you could beat him, then why should I worry?" Ash asked, scratching his head in confusion.
"Well frankly Ash, you'd don't have a ton of experience battling dragon-type Pokemon." Cynthia explained, earning a pout from Ash. "Drayden specializes in dragon-types, so he'd have an advantage over you."
"Hmm, I guess you have a point." Ash said, rubbing his chin. "Then I guess I'll have to do some special training to prepare for this battle." Ash turned to look at Iris. "Will you help me train, Iris?"
"Me?" Iris asked, pointing to herself.
"Well yeah. You're the best dragon trainer I know, so you're the perfect person to train me to battle dragon-type Pokemon." Ash said with a toothy grin.
"W-Well I guess I could help you." Iris replied, as a faint blush dusted across her cheeks. "But...you will do everything I say! No little kid shit! I'm you're teacher, and you will listen to me!"
"Yes ma'am!" Ash said with a mock salute.
"Good, now let's get started."
(15 Days Later; Opelucid City)
"Holy crap that took a long time!" May said with an exasperated sigh.
"Ash, why couldn't we have just flown some of the way here?" Dawn asked with a confused look.
"I must concur with Dawn, it would have made our trip much easier." Anabel said with a tired look.
"Well I needed to train." Ash said with a shrug of his shoulders. "With the extra time it took us to get here, Iris and I were able to get a ton of extra training in."
"It better have payed off, because I'm exhausted." Lyra said, lagging slightly behind everyone else.
"I know it payed off!" Iris exclaimed with a grin, slapping Ash on the back. "I taught Ash just about everything I know, so he should be ready to face Drayden."
"I hope you're right Iris, because Drayden is one tough customer." Roxie said, with a slightly worried look. "He makes my gym look like a cake walk."
"Don't worry Roxie, I got this." Ash said with a toothy grin, confidence evident in his voice. "I'll whoop Drayden's ass, then we'll be on our way to the Unova League!"
"I hope you're prepared Ash, because we're here." Cynthia said, causing Ash to look at the gym in front of them.
"Let's get this started then!" Ash exclaimed, punching a fist into his palm. With a loud cheer Ash sprinted towards the gym, with Pikachu right on his trail.
"Oh...Drayden's not gonna like that." Iris said, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"What are you talking about Iris?" Flannery asked, raising a red eyebrow.
"Drayden is a very serious person. He doesn't appreciate people acting childish around him." Iris said, as she picked up her pace.
"Then we better get in there before Ash does something stupid." Burgundy said with a deep sigh.
Everyone in the group picked up the pace, and entered the gym barely thirty seconds after Ash did. But when the group walked through the gym's doors it seemed that they were already to late.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WON'T BATTLE ME!" Ash yelled at Drayden, who was only few feet away.
"I mean what I said. I don't battle children, now leave my gym." Drayden said in calm voice, as he turned away from Ash.
"HEY! Don't turn your back on me you basHMPH!" Ash was stopped when Iris slapped her hand over his hand.
"Shut up you idiot!" Iris hissed, glaring at Ash. "You're just proving his point. Now keep your mouth shut, and let me do the talking. Do you understand?"
Ash stared at Iris for a few moments, before he nodded his head. Iris released Ash, and walked up to Drayden.
"Uh, excuse me Drayden?" Iris asked, tapping the large man on his shoulder.
"What is it now...Iris?" Drayden asked in a surprised tone.
"Yeah it's me." Iris said with a smile, sheepishly waving at the gym leader. "It's been a while hasn't it?"
"It's been almost six years since I last saw you," Drayden said. Iris couldn't see his face but by his tone she could that he was smiling. "How have you been?"
"I've been great! I've been training hard to be become the world's greatest dragon trainer." Iris said, earning a nod from Drayden.
"I know, I've been keeping tabs on you. You've become quite famous among dragon trainers." Drayden explained, causing Iris to blush slightly from the praise. "So what are you doing her my dear?"
"Uh, you know that trainer you were yelling at a moment ago?" Iris asked, gesturing towards Ash.
"Yeah, that brat burst in here, and demanded to battle me." Drayden said, glaring at Ash. To his credit Ash didn't react, he stood where he was and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Well that 'brat' is my boyfriend." Iris explained, as she scratched the back of her head in embarassment. "I know he may act like a little kid sometimes, but he truly is an amazing battler. He's the champion of the Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Kalos Leagues. So can you please reconsider battling Ash."
"Wait! Ash, as in Ash Ketchum?!" Drayden exclaimed, his eyes wide. "That punk is Ash Ketchum!? The guy who beat Cynthia?!"
"Yes that's him." Cynthia said with a small smile. "Ash is truly a remarkable trainer."
"C-Cynthia?!" Drayden yelled in surprise. "I-It's an honor to have a trainer of your caliber in my gym."
"Oh, I just came to cheer my boyfriend on in his battle." Cynthia said, wrapping her arms around Ash's shoulders.
"Wait, you're with Ash too? How does that work?" Drayden asked with a confused look.
"We have a special relationship, we make it work." Cynthia said with smile, as she kissed Ash's cheek. "Now please reconsider battling Ash."
"I don't know, that kid was pretty disrespectful earlier." Drayden said, as he rubbed his chin.
"Ash say something." Iris whispered, but Ash remained silent. Getting upset, Iris elbowed Ash in the arm.
"Ah, damn it! That hurt Iris!" Ash hissed, causing Iris to gesture to Drayden. Ash simply rolled his eyes, and took a deep breath. "*Sigh* I'm sorry that I acted out earlier. I was just really excited to battle you, because you seemed like you'd be a challenging opponent. I apologize if I offended you."
Drayden eyed Ash up and down for a minute, before he folded his arms over his chest. The large man stepped forward so that he stood in front of Ash. He looked Ash in the eyes, and searched for any hint fear or doubt. But Drayden saw that Ash was determined to battle him.
"Fine," Drayden said as he turned around. "I will forgive your previous outburst, and I will battle you. But I expect no more childish antics like before, or I will throw you out of my gym. Am I understood?"
"Yes sir." Ash replied with a straight face.
"Good, now follow me." Drayden said, as he lead the group towards the battlefield.
"The three-on-three battle between the challenger, Ash Ketchum, and the gym leader, Drayden will begin. Trainers please throw out your first Pokemon!"
"Alright, let's see what you're made of." Drayden said, as he unclipped a Pokeball from his belt. "Druddigon come on out."
The Cave Pokemon emitted a throaty roar, stomping its left foot on the ground, as it appeared in front of Drayden.
"Huh, that Druddigon looks pretty tough." Ash said with a grin, as he grabbed a ball from his belt. "I'll enjoy beating him. Sylveon I choose you!"
Ash threw out his ball, and the Intertwining Pokemon materialized in a flash of white light. One of Sylveon's ribbon-like feelers stretched out, and wrapped around Ash's arm. The raven haired trainer smiled down at the small Pokemon. Ash could feel Sylveon's determination flowing through the feeler, but he could also feel the Pokemon's doubt and fear.
"Don't worry buddy I know you can do it." Ash reassured the Pokemon. Sylveon smiled and nodded at Ash.
"So you went with the type advantage." Drayden said, crossing his arms. "It won't help you very much. You may have the first move Mr. Ketchum."
"As long as I believe in my Pokemon's abilities we'll be able to beat any opponent, and it's Ash to you." Ash said, slightly glaring at Drayden. "Sylveon start this battle off with Quick Attack!"
Sylveon instantly shot towards Druddigon at an incredible speed. The Intertwining Pokemon quickly closed the gap, and crashed full force into Druddigon. The Cave Pokemon grunted, as the force from Sylveon's hit pushed it backwards. But Sylveon also flinched in pain after it collided with Druddigon's sharp skin. Druddigon groaned in pain, as it held its stomach.
"Quick Attack shouldn't have done that much damage, so what's wrong with Druddigon?" Drayden thought, until a sudden realization struck him. "That thing probably has Pixilate as its ability. So I have to be careful of any of its normal-type moves."
"Druddigon, while it's still close, counter with Poison Tail."
The Cave Pokemon's large tail started to glow purple, as it swung its tail at Sylveon. But Sylveon was quick, and ducked underneath the attack. The momentum from swinging its tail spun Druddigon around several times, confusing the large Pokemon.
"Sylveon, now while it's confused, use Draining Kiss!"
The Intertwining Pokemon charged towards, the still confused, Druddigon and kissed its arm. Sylveon cringed at the feeling of Druddigon's rough skin, but it kept its lips attached and started draining energy from Druddigon. The Cave Pokemon snapped out of its stupor at the feeling of its energy being sapped away. Druddigon immediately started to swipe at Sylveon, but its attack were slow and weak. Sylveon quickly jumped away when he felt Druddigon's knees give out. The Cave Pokemon feel forward, barely conscious.
"Get up Druddigon! You're stronger than that!" Drayden shouted, a hint of worry in his tone.
Druddigon grunted as it tried to lift itself off the ground. Its arms shook while it pushed itself off the ground. Giving a loud roar of defiance, Druddigon forced itself to its feet. The Cave Pokemon stood on shaky legs, and glared at Sylveon.
"Good, I would have been disappointed if this battle had ended already." Ash said with a smirk, turning his cap backwards. "Let's back to it! Sylveon use Fairy Wind!"
Sylveon began to chant, causing a slight breeze to start flowing through the battlefield. But the wind gradually began to become more and more intense. Druddigon howled in pain, as the fairy energy in the wind hit him.
"Druddigon use Earthquake."
Clenching its teeth, Druddigon raised its foot and slammed it into the ground. The entire gym shook from the force if Druddigon's strike. Sylveon stumbled because of the shaking, and stopped its attack. This left the Intertwining Pokemon open to attack.
"Now use Gunk Shot."
Druddigon reared its head back, before it fired a massive glob of poisonous sludge at Sylveon. The Intertwining Pokemon had just gotten to its feet when the attack hit. Sylveon screeched in pain, as the poisonous goo coated its body. Sylveon moaned in pain, as it felt poison flow through its body.
"Damn it, Sylveon's been poisoned." Ash thought, as he saw Sylveon's body take on a slightly purple tint. "I have to finish this now."
"Sylveon fight through the pain, and use Echoed Voice!"
Sylveon struggled to raise its head, but it eventually managed to release a mighty shout. The sound waves were laced with fairy energy, as they reverberated throughout the battlefield. Druddigon clutched its ears in pain, as it fell to its knees. The Cave Pokemon howled in pain, as it was struck repeatedly by the super-effective sound waves.
"Now finish this off with Moonblast."
The Intertwining Pokemon quickly began to gather fairy energy in the air. Once the Moonblast was large enough, Sylveon shot it at the writhing Druddigon. The ball of fairy energy hit Druddigon, causing a large pink explosion. When the explosion died down, Druddigon was unconscious with swirls in its eyes.
"Druddigon is unable to battle, the winner is Sylveon. Drayden please bring out your next Pokemon."
"Not bad kid." Drayden said, as he returned Druddigon. "But let's see how you handle this one. Come on out Flygon."
The Mystic Pokemon materialized on the ground in front of Drayden, before it took to the air. Before Drayden or Ash could even issue a command Sylveon moaned in pain as it was hit again by the poison in its body. A few moments later Sylveon fell over unconscious.
"Well that was fast." Drayden said, watching the official walk up to Sylveon.
"Sylveon is unable to battle, the winner is Flygon. Challenger please bring out your next Pokemon."
"Well that stinks, you did your best anyway." Ash said, smiling down at Sylveon's ball before he clipped it back onto his belt. "Charizard I choose you!"
Charizard let out a thunderous roar, as it appeared in front of Ash. The Flame Pokemon extended its large winds, sending out a small shockwave. Seeing its opponent, Charizard snorted, sending out a small spurt of fire.
"Charizard? That an interesting choice." Drayden observed, rubbing his chin.
"Oh you haven't seen the half of it." Ash said with a smirk, as he pulled down his sleeve. Drayden's eyes widened when he spotted the megaring on Ash's wrist. Ash pressed the stone on his megaring, instantly engulfing Charizard in a sphere of pink light. When the light died down, Drayden gasped at what he saw. Drayden had to admit that he was certainly intimidated by Charizard's new appearance. The way that the Pokemon grinned at him, with blue flames dripping from its mouth, was definitely unsettling.
"Flygon use Sandstorm then move in and use Dragon Claw."
The Mystic Pokemon started to rapidly flap its wings. This caused a large amount of wind and dust to start whipping through the gym. The dust circled around the battlefield, surrounding in a thick sandstorm.
"Charizard get rid of this annoying Sandstorm!" Ash yelled over the howling winds.
The Flame Pokemon grinned as he flapped his powerful wings. The force of Charizard's wings flapping dispersed the Sandstorm almost instantly. With the Sandstorm gone, Flygon could no longer use it to hide. Before Flygon could react to its cover disappearing, Charizard swooped in and grabbed Flygon. Charizard slammed Flygon into the ground, pinning the Pokemon.
"Flygon get that thing of you with Dragon Breath."
The Mystic Pokemon opened its mouth, and began to expel bright blue flames of draconic energy. However Charizard moved its head to the side, and dodged most of the flames. The Flame Pokemon quickly forced Flygon's mouth shut, stopping its attack.
"Charizard use Dragon Rush!"
Charizard picked Flygon up by its head, and threw the Pokemon into the air as if it were weightless. The Flame Pokemon then flew towards Flygon with draconic energy flowing of its body. With a crash, Charizard smashed into Flygon. The force of the attack sent Flygon soaring across the gym.
"I'm not finished yet, Charizard keep it up with Dragon Pulse!"
Just as Flygon was recovering from the previous attack, Charizard fired a purple beam at Flygon. The beam of draconic energy hit Flygon in the chest, and sent the Pokemon crashing into the gym's wall. Flygon groaned, as it crawled out of the hole in the wall that it had created.
"Snap out of it Flygon! Get back into the fight!" Drayden exclaimed, as he watched Flygon take a few stumbling steps.
"Charizard finish this with Dragon Tail!"
Charizard's tail began to glow blue, as it raced towards Flygon. The Mystic Pokemon's eyes widened when it saw Charizard flying towards it.
"Flygon you have to dodge it!"
Flygon tried to fly away, but as soon as it moved its wing pain shot through its body. Flygon turned its head to see a large cut on its right wing. Realizing that it couldn't dodge, Flygon closed its eyes and waited for the attack to come. But the attack never came. Hesitantly opening one eye, Flygon saw that Charizard's tail had stopped a few inches away from its stomach. Charizard grunted, before it stepped back.
"I suggest you forfeit your Flygon, Drayden. That wings really bad, and should be treated immediately." Ash said with a worried look. "I refuse to battle a Pokemon that cannot properly defend itself."
"*Sigh* You're right," Drayden reluctantly said. "I forfeit Flygon."
"Flygon is unable to battle due to a forfeit, the winner is Charizard. Draymen please bring out your last Pokemon."
"Wait!" Ash exclaimed, startling the official. "I want to start fresh and even, so I forfeit Charizard."
"Are you sure about that Ash? Your Charizard still looks ready to go." Drayden asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I want to battle to be exciting. What's more exciting than a due or die situation." Ash said with a smirk, as he returned Charizard. He then reached onto his belt and unclipped another Pokeball. "I want this to be a battle to remember."
"Charizard has forfeited! Challenger bring out your last Pokemon!"
"Alright Ash, let's make this last battle a good one." Drayden said, enlarging a Pokeball. "Haxorus time to rumble."
"It's time for a battle between dragons! Garchomp I choose you!" Ash exclaimed with a grin, as he threw his ball.
Both Pokeballs opened at the same time. After they materialized in front of their trainer, both dragons began to glare at each other. A growl occasionally escaping their throats. The two dragons stared each other down for a few more moments, before they both charged forwards. They both locked together, and began to battle for dominance.
"What are they doing right now, Iris?" Flannery asked with a confused look.
"They're just feeling each other out right now, testing out their opponents strength. It's something male dragons do before they fight." Iris explained, as she watched both large dragons struggle back and forth.
Flannery was about to ask another question, but a loud roar from the battlefield distracted her. Garchomp had managed to overpower Haxorus, and had thrown the massive dragon across the battlefield.
"That Garchomp of yours is quite strong." Drayden complimented, before he crossed his arms over his chest. "But I believe its time we got this real battle started."
"I couldn't agree more." Ash said with a large smirk across his face.
"Use Dragon Claw!" Both trainer yelled simultaneously.
Both dragons rushed forward with their claws glowing bright it was close enough, Haxorus lunged forward and tried to slash at Garchomp. But Garchomp used its impressive speed and reflexes to sidestep the attack. As its momentum carried Haxorus past, Garchomp slammed its glowing claw into Haxorus' back. The Axe Jaw Pokemon roared in pain, as the super-effective move connected. Before Garchomp could attack again, Haxorus used its powerful tail to knock Garchomp away. This gave Haxorus enough time to recover, and get back on its feet.
"Good Haxorus, now use Outrage."
The Axe Jaw Pokemon let out a deafening roar, as a deep red aura surrounded its body. Without warning Haxorus charged towards Garchomp, and began to sway its claws wildly. Their was no pattern to Haxorus attacks, so they were hard for Garchomp to anticipate. But the attacks were also imprecise and sloppy, which made them relatively easy to dodge. Garchomp had managed to dodge most of the attacks, but a few strikes had managed to make contact. After Haxorus' rampage had ended both dragons were panting. Suddenly Haxorus began to stomp its feet and slam its head into the ground.
"Haxorus snap out of it! You're confused, you have to stop hurting yourself." Drayden yelled, as Haxorus smashed its head into the wall.
"Quick while it's confused. Garchomp use a Dual Chop Draco Meteor Combo!" Garchomp tried to step forward, but he flinched as pain shot through his legs. "Fight through the pain Garchomp, I know you're tougher than that!"
Inspired by its trainers words, Garchomp clenched its jaw and pushed through the pain. The Mach Pokemon charged towards Haxorus, and slammed a glowing arm onto its back. Haxorus doubled over in pain, but Garchomp wasn't finished yet. Garchomp hit Haxorus with a powerful uppercut, which sent the large Pokemon a few feet into the air. Before Haxorus could hit the ground, Garchomp fired a Draco Meteor into the dragon's chest. The force of the Draco Meteor carried Haxorus into the air. Once it had reached the top of the gym, Draco Meteor detonated. Small meteors rained across the gym, as Haxorus crashed into the center of the battlefield. The Axe Jaw Pokemon was a smoking mess at the bottom of a small crater. The official walked up, and declared Haxorus unconscious.
"Haxorus is unable to continue, the winner is Garchomp. Since all of Drayden's Pokemon are unable to battle the winner is the challenger, Ash!"
Ash let out a sigh of relief, as he walked up to Garchomp. The raven-haired trainer patted the dragon, and congratulated him. On the other side of the battlefield, Drayden returned Haxorus. He watched Ash with curious eyes.
"Hmm maybe he's not such a brat after all." Drayden thought as he walked up to Ash.
"Well Ash, I mush say that you surprised me. That was one hell of a battle." Drayden said, sticking out his hand.
"Thanks Drayden! Iris was right, you were pretty tough." Ash said with a smile, as he shook Drayden's hand. "But I'm glad that I got the opportunity to battle you."
"You were pretty tough yourself little man, but now I can see that your not such a brat after all." Drayden said, earning a frown from Ash. "But after today's battle I'll for sure be rooting for you in at the Unova League."
"That actually means a lot coming from you Drayden." Ash said with a smile, as Drayden released his hand. "Well we better be off."
"Alright Ash, but I expect a rematch some time." Drayden called out.
"For sure, I actually had a lot of fun." Ash called back, as he walked through the gym's front doors.
"Our next stop is the Unova League right?" Lyra asked, as the group walked down the road.
"Yeah, man I'm so pumped up right now!" Ash said, literally shaking from the excitement.
As the group walked down the road, they never noticed a hooded figure watching them from a nearby roof. The hooded figure smiled, as he watched Ash converse with the group.
"Well it likes you're doing well Ash." The figure said, as he pulled out a Pokeball. The ball opening, releasing a large Pidgeot. "Come on Pidgeot we have to get to Vertress Conference so that we can watch Ash compete."
With a nod Pidgeot allowed the hooded figure to get on its back. With a flap of its strong wings, Pidgeot was flying towards the horizon.
And done! So sorry this chapter took so long. You guys had no idea how hard it was for me to write this chapter. I kept losing motivation write it. I must have attempted to write this chapter six times before I actually finished it. So if its not up to my usual standards I apologize. So next chapter will start the Unova League, and I plan on having a few old faces appear. Who is the hooded figure, I'll give you once clue it's not a character from the series. Remember to follow/favorite(If we actually get to a 1000 followers I might cry tears of joy XD), PLEASE REVIEW, and PM me ideas for this story. So until next time I'm outta here.
