I don't own any of this Loud House belongs to Nickelodeon.

Arturo groaned lowly as his body began stir back into consciousness. Through his darken vision, he could feel that the back of his head really stung as a ringing noise played in his ears.

Slowly his eyes flickered open, through his blurry vision Arturo can only make out a faint brown, when his vision finally focused he sees that the brown is a flat rocky floor. The ringing in his ears fade, though the stinging in his head is still strong.

Groaning like a zombie, Arturo closed his eyes as unconsciousness threaten to take hold of him again, which it does eventually. He didn't know how long he was out the second time he was passed out, but he eventually awoken again with more zombie like groans.

With his head still stinging, Arturo slowly sits himself up where he looked around the place with a bit of dizziness. To his astonishment and horror he found himself inside a cell that's barely lit, panic now came to him as he wondered how the hell he got here?

Then the memories of the men who pointed their guns at him suddenly came flashing like a tidal wave. He remembered them forcing him out of the Jeep, they must've knocked him out and brought him here as a prisoner. Why did they do this is beyond him? Maybe he accidentally stepped in their territory and they simply didn't like outsiders.

Now hopefully, (even though they basically kidnapped him), he can possibly reason with the leader of this group. If he could, perhaps they would let him go, maybe even give him a ride to the Mexican border. Was it a long stretch that most likely wouldn't go in his favor? Yes, it definitely was. But Arturo can always hope that it could go in that direction.

But if it doesn't go his way, then he would just have to find his way out of where ever he was. Nothing was going to stop him from getting home, he would fight his way out, if it has to come down to it.

With those thoughts now filled in his hurt head, Arturo takes a good look around his cell. It was definitely a crude one, designed to keep prisoners contain without any regard for their well being.

Arturo then took notice from the faint light coming from the lone torch that there is some ripped pieces of fabric on the rocky floor. Arturo also took noticed of some faint marks on the wall that looked to be made by a knife.

It is no brainier that other people had once inhabited this cell before him. What happen to them is a question? Perhaps they were let go or joined this group of people.

Well whatever happened to them is in the past, Arturo needed to focus on the present by getting himself out of here. Slowly in order to not attracted any attention to himself, Arturo walked on over to the cell door. Inspecting it closely Arturo sees that it's secured by two padlocks, he looked around his cell for any rocks to bash against them, but it looked like these people thought ahead by removing any rock that could do damage to the padlocks.

Alright there's no need to give up yet, there could be something else that he could use to break out of here. Pacing around the cell, Arturo scanned the ground for anything to use, a metal glint soon gets his attention.

Walking up to the metal glint, Arturo discovers that it is a pocket knife with its blade out, he hadn't discovered it sooner as he hadn't been looking in this direction, plus the pocket knife is tucked in the right corner.

Picking it up, Arturo inspected it closely. The handle is black with the engraved initials A. S. Seems liked this guy dropped his knife, well Arturo supposed that this A. S. wouldn't mind him using the knife as it will definitely come in handy for a form of defense, if it'll come down to it that is.

Looking around some more Arturo finds a piece of paper, picking it up Arturo saw one word spread across it. "Tener Cuidado!"

This alarmed him greatly as that word translated in english is beware. It didn't take a rocket scientist to know who the beware is meant to, Arturo looked to the knife as it looked like he would have to use it more sooner than he thought.

"Should be a few more blocks now." Mrs. Chang informed her family.

When the Changs woke up earlier that morning, Mrs. Chang informed them on what they were going to do today and true to her word they didn't stop for anything. When they came across a blocked off street the family simply went down another street, coming across a hole in the ground they either make a bridge from knocked over streetlights or if there's room go around the holes.

The Changs turned into Avenue St, a once busy main street that wasn't so anymore. Adelaide hums a cheerful song as she looked at the passing ground, the song was something that popped into her head, but could barely make out the name of it. The young girl takes a glance to the right side of her, where she caught sight of a abandon Burpin' Burger.

Upon seeing the abandon restaurant; the little girl immediately began to think about those tasty burgers and fries, not to mention those chicken nuggets that she always liked to get from there.

The rest of her family soon hears a loud grumble which caused them all to stop in their tracks and look around in alarm. "What was that?" Mr. Chang called out in surprise.

"Sorry that was me." Mr. and Mrs. Chang along with Sid turned to their youngest who looked to her feet with a small meekly smile. "I'm just a bit hungry."

"Come to think of it, I'm a bit hungry to." Sid chimed in. "I can go for some food to." Mr. Chang added.

"Don't worry guys, we'll get something to eat after we check out the hospital for anything for Sid's cheek." Mrs. Chang informed her family.

"How much farther is it mom?" Adelaide asked.

"Should be about a few more miles honey. If we can keep moving, I believe we should be able to make it there by midday." Mrs. Chang replied.

They didn't say anything else and moved on. The Changs went down several more blocks, then eventually they came to an intersection that had a bended traffic pole on the opposite side, a sign for the hospital is attached to it with an arrow pointing to the left. Mrs. Chang felt her spirits light up as they finally made it to the hospital.

Turning the corner Mrs. Chang's high spirits were quickly shot down as ahead of her is the collapsed hospital with only the first floor standing. Just like her the rest of the Changs were devastated that the hospital they were traveling to is destroyed, Sid felt more worried as what were they to do now? Her cheek seemed to start hurting even more, it also seemed to go a darker red from what she saw in a mirror back in the hotel.

Mrs. Chang's devastated state quickly left her and is replaced by determination, she resumes her walk towards the hospital with no hint of hesitation. "Come on."

"Becca, the hospital is destroyed." Her husband called out, he backs away a bit as his wife's cold stare went into his soul. "The first floor is still standing." She told him in a very low tone of voice that signified that the discussion is over.

Mr. Chang nodded sheepishly. "Yes dear."

Mrs. Chang walked on towards the ruined remains of the hospital with the rest of the family fallowing in a distance. "Mom is scary when angry." Adelaide whispered.

"You should've seen her during our second date." Mr. Chang reminisced in fear.

The Changs stood in the parking lot of the destroyed hospital. Truthfully it wasn't much of a parking lot anymore as much of it is covered in rubble that only had a very narrow trail leading up to the front doors, Sid and her sister glance sideways and could just see the front hoods of crushed ambulances underneath the large pieces of rubble. The sisters really hoped that no one was inside them or the hospital when it happened.

Their mother undeterred by the sight went straight towards the doors, her family after standing there for a moment quickly fallowed, none of them had noticed the skeletal arm poking out from underneath the rubble on their left.

The automatic doors were closed up and with no power they wouldn't open up by themselves. This didn't stop Mrs. Chang though as she grabbed them and pushed them forcefully open stunning her family completely, she pushes them into place and enters the hospital with her family.

Inside it was cold, dark, and clammy. The Changs wondered where they should start for even though the rest of the building is gone, the first floor is still massive with many places to look. It was eventually decided that they would split up in pairs; Sid and Adelaide will go one way and the parents would go another way. They'll search the first floor and if any of their groups find something, they'll pick it up and meet up back here.

The sisters move down the west hallway, looking into each room as they pass by them, they get to a close door on the right that Adelaide quickly opens to reveal that it's nothing more but a janitor's closet. "Nothing in here." She sweetly informs her sister.

Sid points over to a door next to it. "Maybe there's something in here." She went over and opened up the door which this time revealed itself to be another room.

The sisters went into the room, they looked around the place for anything that can be used. Adelaide soon opened up a cabinet that has some medical supplies in it, with her finger now placed on her chin, Adelaide tried to figure out which one of these supplies would help her sister, she is no medical expert so this is very difficult for her.

"Hey Sid!"

Sid walked over to her younger sister with curiosity over on what she wanted. "Yes Adelaide?"

"What do you think we should take?" She asked her.

Sid glances over to the cabinet of medical supplies, like her little sister Sid had no idea which of these medical things they should take. She stood there thinking hard about what would be really useful for her. "I think" Sid ponders some more until she picked out some random bottles. "These might do nicely." Sid quickly took out three bottles and held them in her arms.

Adelaide is unsure however as what if Sid picked out the wrong items? "I don't know Sid." Her older sister however gave her a small reassuring smile. "Don't worry Adelaide, I'm pretty sure I picked up the right ones."

"As long as your sure." Adelaide replied uneasily.

The two sisters left the room, but they didn't go back to where they would meet up with their parents just yet. Instead they went further down the hallway as it wouldn't hurt to find some more things.

Meanwhile Mr. and Mrs Chang were having bad luck; as after turning a corner the couple had come across a blockage in the hallway as a section of roof had collapsed. The rubble that has blocked their path was simply too big to be moved, and since they couldn't move further it didn't make Mrs. Chang all to happy.

"Great, what are we supposed to do now?" She complained, the warmth of her husband's hands is felt on her shoulders. Looking up at him, she saw the warm smile on his face. "Don't worry Becca, we still have some rooms we can still check out."

"I suppose so." She sighed, "They'll probably have nothing just like the rest of the rooms we already checked." She continued on with a bit of bitterness in the tone of her voice.

"We won't know unless we check." He calmly told her.

The couple took a couple steps back on where they came from and entered the next room. It was a room where the hospital staff would look at the X-rays pictures they had taken. They couldn't deny that it's a cool room that they had came upon, but they doubted that the room had anything for Sid.

They check the next room which turned out to be an employee break room that had five tables, a counter with a sink, microwave, and fridge. There's also a water cooler at one corner, there's a bulletin board with several papers on it, and there was even a dartboard hanging proudly on the wall.

Mr. Chang whistled as this is a rather impressive break room, he is half tempted to go over to the dartboard for a game of darts, that is of course if he weren't on a search mission, not to mention he feared his wife would strangle him if he does such a thing right now.

Speaking of which, Mrs. Chang looked around the break room disapprovingly, their wouldn't be anything in here that would help her daughter's infected cheek. Grabbing her husband's hand, Mrs. Chang leads him away from the break room towards the next room, in her mind she hoped that her daughters were having more luck than they are.

As the Chang family searched the first floor of the hospital for medical supplies. Back in his cell; Arturo sat on the floor compilating on what to do? During his current dire situation.

Arturo guessed that it has been hours since he had awoken in this place and so far no guards or anyone else in that matter has checked in on him. He supposed that they probably thought that he is still unconscious, but still you would think that they would at least given him something to eat or drink.

Arturo's head is also still stinging a bit, no doubt from that little hit they gave him in the back of the head, most likely gave him a concussion. Which is just peachy as that is the last thing he needed.

Fifteen more minutes has passed and still no one has showed up. This is getting ridiculous, surely they would know by now that he's awake, he's actually beginning to think that they were just going to leave him in this cell until he dies of starvation or more likely dehydration.

He knew that they weren't nice people given his first experience with them, along with that omnious beware note he found earlier. But come on, their humanity couldn't be that far gone to deliberately starve a fellow human. Could they?

He didn't want to think too far into that, besides thinking of food and water made his stomach grumbled and mouth dry up. The last time he ate and drank was ten minutes before the Jeep had ran out of gas and that was a day ago, it's best not to think about any food or water now, unless he really wanted to torture himself.

To take his thoughts off of those essential items that every living creature needed to live, Arturo looked at the left side wall of his cell, it wasn't any different than the other times he looked at that wall, but hey if it kept his thoughts off of food and water then it was good enough for him.

After ten minutes of staring at nothing but the wall, Arturo is now up on his feet pacing around his cell. He knew that pacing is a good way of keeping your thoughts in check as he had done this numerous times in the past when he's overwhelmed with work.

Continuing to pace around his cell, Arturo thinks about various things; such as the state of the world right, or where the asteroid even struck? Unlike Lisa, Arturo had no idea where the asteroid even impacted, he already guessed that it was quite far from his location since he didn't see it coming in or the light from the explosion, and the fact he didn't get taken out by the massive shockwave it would've produced.

Did it hit somewhere in Europe? Off the coast of New York? Africa? A sudden thought then came to him that shook him to his core, what if it struck in Great Lake City or anywhere else in Michigan?

That thought scared him more than anything else, as if it did hit Michigan then his kids, ex-wife, and everyone else he loved would've been killed in an instant. Arturo couldn't think like that, there's a great possibly it struck somewhere else, what were the odds that it would hit the place he is trying to get to.

No, he couldn't have that scary thought in his mind, he quickly erases it and instead thought of something else entirely like the beginning of his vacation before this whole thing got started. It was very short lived as the moment he got to Yucatan the news got out, so all he can really think of is how he enjoyed being in first class.

Arturo supposed that it was just his luck, the moment he goes on vacation an apocalypse occurs. This easily beats the last vacation he took when he went to Hawaii and got stuck in a storm that lasted through his whole vacation and only ended when he got on the plane home. He's actually beginning to think that he's cursed from taking any vacations, it's silly to think, but how else can he explain the two bad things that happen to him while taking a vacation.

Ah, he was thinking too much of this, this isolation might be starting to drive him mad. Did the walls look like they were closing in on him? Is the place getting darker? He might be starting to hear voices in his head!

Panic now filled him, during this panic state he forgotten that he's in a cell as he had ran forward right into the wall. The impact sent him sprawling backwards and fall right on his bottom, despite the sudden pain his face is feeling right now, that sudden slam into the wall brought him out of his thoughts that were beginning to drive him crazy.

With his mind now back in control, Arturo crossed his legs together, thinking on what he should do now? Thinking hard a plan began to form, a careful plan that can only work if certain events corresponds with it.

Arturo went through every step of the plan, while he sat there on the floor in his lonely cell.

Sid and Adelaide explored every inch of the first floor. During their exploration the two sisters had came across more rooms, several offices, and the morgue which creeped them out as there could still be bodies inside those metal containers.

The sisters reached the end of the hall where they now came across black double doors that stood open a jar. The girls push them open fully, standing in the doorframe they discovered that it leads into the mess hall.

The mess hall is wide with several tables, some had pieces of the ceiling on them, while the others had dust collected, windowless panes stood tall to the east of the mess hall where the wind blew in, making a ghostly howl.

Adelaide looked around in silence as she has never seen a cafeteria so quiet and empty before, the grumble of her stomach calls out loudly, reminding the little girl that it needed to be filled. Adelaide looks down at it for a bit, then looked over to the kitchen, perhaps there's food available in there.

Before Sid could stop her, Adelaide races towards the kitchen as fast as a six year old can. Entering through the side door, Adelaide immediately began to search through everything in the kitchen for a hint of food. The young girl is just finishing searching through the last cabinet by the time Sid came into the kitchen, she catches sight of disappointment on her little sister's face.

"There's no food here." Adelaide cried out.

"Wouldn't surprise me, most would've rotten away by now, the non-perishable stuff must've already got taken either during the raids or by the other survivors that are all around this city." Sid explained.

"You mean the people who make the gunshots sounds?" Adelaide asked in a low tone in which Sid nods in response. Adelaide looked slightly away while thinking about those people that inhabit somewhere in the city.

Her family hasn't seen anyone else yet during their days of wandering around the city, but they definitely heard them. The gunshots scarred her from how loud and sudden they were, it scared her more for what she had seen on TV, if the person who had a gun isn't a cop, then they must be very bad people that would hurt not only her, but also her sister, her mom, and her dad.

She is positive that they weren't cops, as she has come to the conclusion that all the cops have been killed off. Adelaide really hoped that they were a good distance away from whoever is shooting their guns.

"Hey you ok?" Sid called out to her, efficiently bringing Adelaide out of her thoughts. She doesn't look at her older sister though, instead she chooses to lay her sights on the dusty floor.

Sid could see the nervous exchange on Adelaide's face, carefully so not to drop the bottles they collected earlier, Sid leans down and gently nudged her sister with her arms getting her attention. "Come on, let's get back to mom and dad."

Adelaide nods with a small smile, then took one last glance at the kitchen. "I'm still hungry."

"Don't worry, like mom said we'll get food after our search." Sid reassured her sister.

The two sisters left the mess hall. They traveled back down the hallway, passing by the many rooms they had searched in earlier, until at last they made it back to the front doors that were still wide open.

The girls parents weren't there yet, this leaves the girls to find themselves waiting for them for an unknown amount of time. Sid gently places the bottles down onto the floor, she takes a good look at the bottles that she could barely read the names of. Not being able to read the names of these bottles actually made her confident, surly with these long names they must be good for her.

"Here comes mom and dad!" Adelaide suddenly calls out.

Looking up, Sid sees her parents approaching completely empty-handed with clear disappointment on them. "Well that was a disappointing search." Their mother commented.

Their dad glances to the bottles next to his oldest daughter's feet, seeing those bottles makes a small smile form on his face. "At least the girls found some things."

Sid smiled proudly over her find. "Yep, these surely must help deal with my cheek."

Mrs. Chang picked up each bottle. Sid watches her mom as she inspected each of them closely, Sid's proud smile quickly diminished as the look on her mother's face told her that they weren't the right ones.

"Sorry honey, but these won't do." Her mother sadly informed her daughter. Sid practically felt deflated, that confidence when she picked up those bottles is completely shot and is swiftly replaced by foolishness.

Her dad gently patted his daughter's back in comfort. "It's ok Sid, you made an honest mistake. Besides you did better than we did, that's for sure."

"But what do we do now? We got nothing to help me." She cried out.

"We can't give up. There has to be a place in this godforsaken city that has the items to help with your infection." Mrs. Chang stated.

"But where mom?" Sid asked her.

"I don't know, but we'll find it I promise." She replies. The Changs exited out of the hospital and got back into the streets. Sid is lacking behind a bit as she's beginning to worry, while also feeling pain as her cheek is starting to burn again.

What if they couldn't find anything for her? It scared her greatly as with having an infected wound in this new world, it might as well be a death sentence. Sid began to pick up her pace to catch up with her family, but her vision suddenly began to go blurry, it made her stop and rub her eyes which didn't do anything as they remain blurry as an out of focus camera.

Adelaide notices that her sister isn't with her, she looked behind her where she saw her older sister swaying back and forth. "Sid?" Both of her parents stopped and looked back as well, they felt horrified as she didn't looked so good.

Sid closes her eyes and as she fell to the ground, the last thing she heard before sweeping into unconscious is her parents and sister shouting out her name.
