I don't own any of this Loud House belongs to Nickelodeon.
The time to cook for the Sanctuary's dinner has arrived and for tonight principal Huggins had cooking duty. He wasn't a terrible cook, but he wasn't the greatest either, and yet he's going to try his best to make the best dinner for everyone.
He enters the kitchen where the roller derby team still stood guard. Lynn stepped up with her hand raised, signaling for him to halt. "What's your state of business here? You aren't trying to get a snack are you?"
"No Mrs. Loud." Huggins replied restraining to roll his eyes. "I'm merely here for kitchen duty."
"How do I know that your not trying to pull a fast one on me?" Lynn retorted.
This time Huggins did roll his eyes, he knew that Lynn can take things too seriously when she's got a authority type task. This is part of the reason why he never again assigned her to do hall monitor duty when she attended the elementary school. He remembered very well the last time he assigned her with that duty, oh gosh how he regretted it, especially when he learned that she stuffed people who were late to class into lockers.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper of the schedule for cooking duties. "Take a look at this." Lynn took the paper and inspected it closely as it might be forged, Huggins tapped his foot impatiently as she does this.
Finally Lynn hands him back the paper, then stepped aside from the freezer door. "Alright everything is in order, you may proceed."
"Thanks" Huggins replied sarcastically, he moves over to the door and opened it. While Huggins entered the pantry, Lynn turned to her friends. "I say we earned a break girls. Who's up for a game of basketball in the gymnasium?"
Her friends cheered from that question which has the obvious answer, they immediately rushed out of the kitchen leaving behind a puff of wind that moved the end of a paper towel roll for a bit.
Meanwhile inside the pantry; Huggins gathered the things he needed for the meal he's planning. As he picked up a few items however he couldn't help but notice that a can of pineapples seem to be missing.
Strange, he knew for a fact that they had a can of pineapples, he knows this as he was the one who wrote down the stock the roller derby have gathered days ago. What happened to the can of pineapples is a complete mystery to him, perhaps someone had pineapples for last night's dinner. Regardlessly of what happened to the pineapples, Huggins couldn't worry about it now for he has some cooking to do.
An half hour later the cafeteria is filled by people who either stood in line to get their vegetable soup, or sat at the tables eating it.
The Louds sat together at a table in the middle of the room. Lynn Sr. sat in his wheelchair at the end of the table, while his wife and kids filled in the sides. Tasting the soup he found that it wasn't bad, but it could use a little something. Pulling out some seasoning from his pocket, Lynn puts a few in after shaking it a couple times, he then tastes it and smiled in satisfaction.
As he did that, Luan had asked Luna if she could attend her show. "So what do you say Luna? You wanna preform? I understand if you don't want to."
Luna thinks about it, while she or Sam haven't really been playing that much for the past month due to her comforting Sam. Today felt like Sam is starting to recover as they had been playing a slow, steady tune in the band room, it felt so good to be jamming with her once again.
Now preforming at Luan's show sounded really rocking and she definitely wanted to preform for people again, but Luna didn't know if Sam would be up for it just yet. "I would love to Luan, but I'll have to see if Sam is up for it."
"Alright no pressure." Luan replied.
Lynn meanwhile had developed a appetite after her basketball game with her friends, so she's been eating her soup like a shark in a feeding frenzy. She is too busy eating to noticed Lola giving her a nervous side glance.
Lola jumped in fright when Lynn and her friends had suddenly bursted into the gymnasium, she thought that Lynn had somehow knew about the heist Lola had committed, through her quick reflexes Lola grabbed and stuffed the can of pineapples into her dress as she began to think up excuses on why she did it. Thankfully that wasn't the case however as Lynn and her friends had raced towards the equipment closet and took out a basketball.
It was a great relief for Lola, but still Lola couldn't leave her guard down, until the can, (which is still in her dress) is gone. She would have to be extra watchful for anyone, (outside of her twin) so that they wouldn't discover her deed.
Lincoln however is busy thinking about what he should do for his magic act. He had to think of how to do some of his acts, but yet maybe he doesn't, maybe he can do new tricks that he could invent. Yeah, that could be an idea. Inventing new magic acts that no one has ever seen before, how could he do something like that is a big question? But he's determine to do it for inventing new tricks would wow everyone and could make him into a famous magician, he just needed to master whatever new trick he could come up with, then things would be running smoothly for him.
Lana notices her brother who seemed to be deep in his thoughts, judging from his expression he seemed to be liking whatever he was thinking of. "What's on your mind Lincoln?"
"Huh?" Brought out of his thoughts, Lincoln looked over to his tomboyish sister. "Nothing much Lana, just something that may wow everyone."
"Is it that comic?"
"Oh yeah, did you get to get copying that rad comic you made little bro?" Luna asked.
"Yeah, we got to copy more of it after we read it." Lincoln replied.
"So where did you place those comics?" Lana now asked.
"Stella is holding on to them, we drew straws and she came out as the winner." Lincoln explains.
"So your going to hand out your drawings tomorrow." Lynn teased.
"Their not drawings Lynn, it's the first comic for the new world." Lincoln argued.
"Whatever you say stinkcoln." Lynn retorted then went back to eating her soup.
"So Leni, how was your day?" Rita asked.
"It was totes great, I like made these adorable socks and shorts." Leni happily answered.
"That's good Leni, are you almost finished with your next batch of clothes?" Rita then asks.
"Almost mom, I think I'll be done by, um, what day is it going to be in three days?"
Rita thinks hard as she had lost track on the days, her husband also thinks about it as he also lost track, even Lisa had to think about it for a bit until she came up with an answer. "Tuesday."
"On Tuesday." Leni happily beamed.
"We'll be looking forward to it for when you do kiddo. I'm especially looking forward to the pants that will match this fabulous shirt you gave me." Lynn Sr. commented.
"Like totes." Leni replied excitedly.
The other Louds kids soon explained on what they did for the day, Lola of course kept her's minimal. The only Loud who wasn't speaking that much is Lucy, one of the reasons is that she wasn't much of a talker, the second is because she was too busy thinking about that vision she saw in the crystal ball.
The sight of the Sanctuary on fire with the gunshots banging in the background really got her spooked as she couldn't imagine such a horrible future. Lucy and the other members of the morticians club weren't just going to lie down in their coffins and let it happen however, instead they doing whatever they can to alter it.
Lucy and Haiku went to the boiler room to make sure that the furnace or the generator isn't too overheated, so that they wouldn't catch on fire. Meanwhile outside Boris, Persephone, Morpheus, and Dante went outside to check out the defenses around the perimeter; the fence is almost complete, the barriers around the area are in place, and the traps that Luan place are still set, Boris in fact nearly stepped on one of them, but Morpheus just managed to stop him from accidentally setting it off on himself.
Overall the morticians club didn't see anything yet that could endanger the citizens of the Sanctuary, but that didn't mean the future is altered just yet as it could very likely still happen. Lucy and the morticians club would just have to keep their eyes out for anything peculiar in the boiler room or any attackers from outside the perimeter. That future just couldn't come true.
After dinner everyone put their dishes on the counter where Huggins with the help of Mrs. Johnson cleaned up the dishes. Everyone else went off to talk amongst themselves, while others got ready for night guarding duties while the day shift guards got some rest.
Some of the Louds were also busy; Luan taped the last poster near the entrance, Lincoln began to practice some magic tricks, and Lola not wanting to get caught with the can of pineapples, placed it back into the kitchen while successfully avoiding detection from Huggins or Mrs. Johnson who are still busy with the dishes.
Pretty soon it was time to turn in for the night. The Loud siblings settled in their sleeping bags, while meanwhile Rita helped her husband get off the wheelchair and laid him down on the inflatable bed they were sleeping on. After getting himself settled in a comfortable position, Lynn glanced up gratefully to his wife. "Thanks Rita."
"It's my pleasure Lynn." Rita leaned down and kisses him on the cheek, then she went over to his right and settled in next to him. "Good night Lynn."
"Good night Rita." The two share a kiss before Rita addressed her children. "Night kids."
"Night!" The room's light then turned off along with the all the other lights in the Sanctuary plunging it into darkness, the only lights that were still on were the ones in the greenhouse where already Lisa's super plants were growing nice and tall.
At the front gate; two guards stood in behind the gate, talking to each other about that comedy show being held tomorrow. It has been a while since they last laughed, so maybe they'll attend that show if they don't have anything else to do tomorrow.
After that discussion, they talked about other things from the before times, before everything went to chaos and the sky was clear. "So that was my vacation to Chicago."
"That sounded nice, too bad I never went anywhere beyond Michigan."
One of the top guards on duty approached the two with a rifle tucked under her arms. "Any activity yet?"
"No, not really." The one on the right informed.
"Good, but keep an eye out for you never know when danger might show up." She warned.
"Relax, like anyone would attack an armed settlement." The one on the left nonchalantly said.
She gives him a very stern look over that comment. "Take this seriously, you never know when those Wolf Gang barbarians might show up for a surprise raid."
"Please! Like those cowardly, idiots have the guts to attack us."
The girl shook her head in disbelief on what she's hearing. "Hopefully you two won't turn cowardly when they do come." She then left them alone to return to her own post, with her gone the two guards went back to talking.
The Wolf Gang's hideout is different from the Sanctuary. The main difference is that it's much smaller as it's just a bunch of tents and custom made huts that's situated at the remains of the bar where bikers used to hang out in, where in the middle of the remains is a big hut that the leader of the gang resides in.
Another difference is that it's a bit, (ok a lot) messier than the much more organized Sanctuary. Here the littered remains of canned or wrapped foods are scattered through most of the ground, along with tools for some bikes they found, empty water containers, even some bodily fluids from puke to blood that came from brutal fights.
Lately the fights seemed to have gotten more frequent due to the food shortages they were now suffering from. At first things were going great from the raids they did to others during the first weeks after impact. When there were no more people to raid from, they scavenged on what they could at the stores. Now they were up to their last rations of food and increasing hunger got them all on edge like never before.
Logan observed this increasing tension between members of the gang, he actually pity that husky guy who hoarded food from the others, oh how he learned a painful lesson on hoarding food, he's pretty sure that he was still breathing to learn from his mistake. But back to the food problem, the leader suggested, (more like ordered) that they scavenged around Hazel Tucky for any food.
They did what they were ordered to do, and while they did find some food over there, it unfortunately wasn't much as that town is in much more worser conditions than Royal Woods. What they needed to do is find a place where there's plenty of food before the whole gang destroy themselves or at the very least become cannibals. Scary thing to think of, but when you become hungry enough, you get desperate for anything to eat, even if it's considered morbid by humanity shakes.
But maybe it wouldn't come to that, for Logan has been hearing rumors that there's a large settlement at the middle school. Apparently the settlement was set up by the very same people that the Wolf Gang gracefully robbed from.
Logan didn't know if the rumors were true, which was why he sent Diego to scout out the place to see if it is true. If it was then he's sure that they wouldn't mind if they took some of their food, even if they did mind then it'll be an unfortunate slaughter for those people at the settlement.
Logan's ears soon picked up footsteps approaching him, he didn't need to turn around to know that it was Diego who just returned from his scouting mission. "So is it true?"
Diego stopped next to him. "Yes, the rumor is very true. Those weaklings have a settlement and from what I observed they have electricity." He informed.
Logan raised his eyebrow in some interest. "Electricity huh, that's impressive for them as I can imagine having electricity is a rare thing to obtain these days. Is there anything else you saw?"
"I believe I spotted a greenhouse."
This got Logan more interested. "A greenhouse? Well then are friends have saved us from our food situation."
"I say we take whatever food they have and drive them out." Diego exclaimed as he clenched his hand, Logan places a hand on his shoulder. "And we will. After all I'm sure our friends wouldn't mind if they share their food with us."
The two soon went off to their huts to turn in for the night, tomorrow they would have to inform their leader of Diego's discovery. They just know that she'll be pleased with this information.
Today is the day!
Luan could feel herself beam in excitement for the first time in awhile. Today is the day for her show and she has a lot to do in order to prepare for tonight; she has to plan what jokes and skits to rehearse for, get the seats in the auditorium ready as well as the stage, and of course most importantly make sure that people show up to it.
Excitedly Luan raced her way to the auditorium, entering the room Luan can see Giggles on stage riding back and forth on a unicycle while juggling bowling pins. Luan smiled as she knew that she could trust her friend to be here, practicing for the big show tonight, speaking of which she better get on stage and begin her own practice, she wouldn't want to plank it during the big performance.
Luan heads for the stage, Giggles notices her friend getting up on the stage, she stopped her juggling to address her friend. "Hi Luan, you ready for the show tonight?"
"You bet I am! I'm practically squeaking in excitement." Luan pokes Giggle's rubber, red nose making it squeak. The two share a laugh over the pun, you can definitely tell that they were friends. "That was a good one Luan."
"And there's more to come! But first I better get rolling." Luan walks off backstage to begin her practice, leaving Giggles to resume her juggling.
As Luan began to practice her material, in the news room where Lincoln and his friends once did the Middle School News Report. Lincoln is doing his own practice, he needed full concentration so as he does this, his friends were out at the Eastside of the Sanctuary handing out their comic.
Currently Lincoln had already did some classic tricks with a little bit of improvising, like the classic pick a card trick where he's using flashcards he found in a cabinet, another classic he did is the making things disappear which was really simple to do as all he needed was a piece of cloth to cover the object with.
But now it was time for those new tricks he wanted to do. He's been thinking what exactly he should do, he needed something to wow people, something that will make people remember it so much that they would talk about it through generations to come.
The sudden thoughts of Lisa's chemicals came to his mind, mainly when they explode. Yes, he can make spontaneous explosions for one of his tricks, of course they would have to be controlled for he wouldn't want to accidentally burn down the Sanctuary, that definitely wouldn't look good on him if that occurs.
So he had a lot of practicing to do, he goes off to one of science labs and picked up the chemicals that Lisa usually uses. He comes back into the news room with the stuff, he places a circular container that has three inches of chemical liquid in it. Stepping back a safe distance in case it went wrong, Lincoln gets ready.
"And now ladies and gentlemen!" Lincoln told the empty room. "Prepare to be amazed as I make an explosion appear from nowhere!" Lincoln raised his arm out to the container and threw something small towards it. "Presto!"
The small object lands in the container and immediately it exploded in green smoke that rosed up towards the ceiling. When the smoke cleared a black circle is stained on the floor where the container just seconds before stood, there's also burned marks on the ceiling. It was a good thing that school is no longer is session for Lincoln would be in a lot of trouble right now for burning the ceiling. Speaking of which Lincoln should probably be glad that the ceiling in the auditorium is much more higher. But still he should be more careful when he does this trick.
Anyhow time to start practicing the other new tricks that came to his mind and as he began to practice his other new tricks, he felt very confident that after the show, he'll be receiving praises from everyone.
Back on stage in the auditorium; Luan and Giggles had just finished a skit that they had been working on, when Luan spotted Luna and Sam entering the auditorium with both of them carrying guitar cases. Luan smiled brightly and quickly jumped off the stage to greet her sister and her sister's girlfriend. "Luna! Sam! You showed up!"
"Yeah dude, we had a talk about it and we decided that we will play in your show sis." Luna stated.
"Great!" Luan pulls out a list from her pocket, she inspects it closely to see where Luna and Sam could fit in. "Alright, you and Sam can have a performance after the first skit."
"Alright we can do that." Sam said with a small smile.
"Good, now go backstage to practice. The show is almost here." Luan said, Luna gives a playful salute. "Aye, aye sis."
The two rocker girls proceed to climbed up on stage, when the two got backstage they got out their guitars, sat down on a couple of stools, then began to play a tune that soon turned into a melody that the two immediately got into. Sam felt good as she heard the melody, she could feel almost all the troubled feelings she's been having after the loss of her brother all just flow away like water going down a drain, while some were still there, it felt really good to feel the waves of music go through her.
Luna also felt at ease as she played her music, it also warmed her heart to see her girlfriend getting into the music once again, from this moment Luna knew that Sam will recover from her loss. It may be a slow process, but eventually Sam would be back to her old self, at least that's what Luna hoped for.
Luan and Giggles continued to practice on their acts, along with Lincoln who continued to practice his magic tricks, while Luna and Sam practiced on their music.
Eventually as it got to early evening, it was almost time for the show to begin and while there were still guards outside. The auditorium is being filled by people who came to see the show. The rest of the Loud family came to watch as well as to give out their support for their family who attended the show.
Luan peeked out from a crack in the curtain, she felt excitement grow inside of her from the crowd she saw out there. Hiding in a squeal, Luan happily turned to her cast members who stood ready for the show to start: Lincoln is wearing a top hat and a white towel from the shower, he couldn't find a cape so it was the next best thing, Luna and Sam stood ready with their guitars, and Giggles held her unicycle and bowling pins.
"We got a packed house out there people, so let's get ready and show these people a great time like they never knew before!" Luan announced as she tried to hold in her excitement.
Her cast members nod in agreement as they themselves were getting excited. Luan turns to address her brother. "Lincoln, are you ready?"
"You bet I am." Lincoln replied as he gave her a thumbs up.
"Good, now let's start the show!" Luan heads straight for the curtains.
When Luan stepped out from behind the curtain a round of applause greeted her, with her family with their namesake being the loudest, especially her father who called out her name.
Luan waved to the audience as she stood next to a microphone, she picks it up and spoke into it. "Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the Sanctuary's comedy show! I'm your host Luan Loud the master of comedy!" The audience gives out another round of applause.
"Thank you your too kind! Now then this show as more than just comedy, we also got a great music act provided by the great Luna Loud and Sam Sharp along with a magic act provided by Lincoln The Magnificent!"
Another round of applause erupted in the auditorium. "Now without a further ado, let's start show with Lincoln The Magnificent!" Luan goes back into the curtain. Shortly afterwards Lincoln bursted through the curtain with his makeshift wand raised proudly. "Good evening everyone! Prepare to be amazed as I wow you with my magic!"
A series of claps makes him feel proud, through the claps he could just hear both his friends and family cheering for him. "For my first trick I shall make a series of explosions appear from thin air!"
Lincoln raises his wand, then points in various directions and with each point explosions of various colors erupted. The explosions grew larger and larger with each point, the audience awed by each explosion which made Lincoln smile as they're going to be extra impressed with the the final one. Lincoln points his wand upwards and a bright green explosion appeared that is so big that it nearly touched the ceiling.
The audience at first were silent from the final explosion, when the smoke cleared the audience cheered, Lincoln proudly bows to them. "Thank you, but now for my next trick! Watch as I make a crocodile appear."
Lincoln takes out three small balls from his sleeve, he throws them into the air which they then explode into bright green glitter that formed into a crocodile shape that stayed in place for a minute, then dispersed as the glitter slowly fell on the stage or the front row. Once again Lincoln is met with around of applause, which makes him more proud.
"Alright time to do the last new trick. Then it's on to the classics." Lincoln thought to himself as he raised his wand high above his head. "And now watch as my wand shoots out a bolt electricity!"
The room goes silent as they wait in anticipation, the wait is suspenseful until with a bang! A bolt of electricity shot out a short distance and danced around above Lincoln's head, then it stopped leaving behind a puff of smoke. It is at first silent, but then the loudest applause shot out with cheers.
Lincoln has done it, he made new tricks that didn't end in disaster and more importantly he will go down in history as one of the greatest magicians. But now with that done, it's time for him to do some classic magic.
After the magic act, Lincoln stepped backstage where his two older sisters praised him for his act. "That was totally rocking bro!" Luna exclaimed as she playfully noogies him.
Luan wrapped her arm around him, laughing a bit. "That was a great start for the show! Good job on your magic Linc!"
"Thanks guys!" Lincoln looked up at them with a bright smile. "You think they'll be talking about my tricks?"
"Yeah bro, and if some don't then they're complete boneheads." Luna replied.
Lincoln is then engulfed in a hug by both his sisters, they soon release him and Luan started to walk off towards the curtain. "Well, I better get ready for the main part of the show."
"Good luck out there sis." Luna called after her.
For the next half hour; Luan told her best jokes, including new ones that were really bringing the house down, the one that really got them going is a joke about what's the difference between a hurricane and an angry customer at the store?
The answer is that a hurricane has a calm eye, while a angry customer keeps on blowing away like an air horn.
After a few more jokes and some satire, it is soon time for the first skit. Luan puts on a mask and Giggles came out in a blond wig. They pull out two cardboard paper towel rolls and had a lightsaber fight, until Luan pretended to chop off Giggle's hand.
"There's no escape. Don't make me destroy you." Luan boomed.
Giggles slowly backed away while clutching her hand, Luan continued to speak in her booming voice. "Join me and I can complete your training. With are combine strength we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to the galaxy."
"I'll never join you! You smell like burnt toast!" Giggles shouted while covering her nose.
"Obi wan never told you, what happen to your father."
"He told me enough! He told me you killed him!"
"No, I am your father."
"No, that's not true. That's impossible!"
"Search your feelings you know it to be true."
Giggles looked at her in horror, but then quickly switched to a completely serious look. "And where have you been all my life?"
Luan instantly became nervous as she looked around the room for any excuse. "Well, I, you know been busy hunting down jedi, exterminating rebels, killing my own men, and doing the emperor's grocery list."
"You couldn't take one day off to see me? I been living with my cheapskate uncle for years! I had to wash Jabba's back for money and that wasn't pleasant, especially with all that slime." Giggles quivered in disgust. "Oh that slime."
The two remain quiet with Giggles giving Luan a glare as she looked away awkwardly. "You know it's a good thing that I did find out that your my father." Giggles spoke up, she then pulls out a stack of papers from what seemed like nowhere. "Now you can pay up with that one million credits of child support you owe me."
Luan is now stuttering to herself as she looked around hastily. "Oh look at the time! I got to defend a base from a rebel attack on Naboo!" Luan then took off leaving Giggles to stand there and shake her fist angrily after her. "You may be Lord of the Sith! But your also the Lord of the Deadbeat Dads!"
The skit ended, Luan came back and did a bow with Giggles to the laughing crowd. "Thank you folks! Now it's time to hear great music from our very own Luna Loud and Sam Sharp!"
The crowd cheered as the two rocker girls stepped out with their guitars, Luan handed Luna the microphone before ducking back stage. "Hello people of the Sanctuary! Are you ready for some music?"
The crowd cheers. "I can't hear you!" The crowd cheered even louder, which is music to Luna's ears it also fueled her along with Sam to start playing. "Well let's do this then!"
Luna and Sam played out a tune that Mick Swagger fans instantly recognized. It is the classic Mick Swagger song "Transformation". Luna chosed this song as with it being the song that changed her life, she felt that it was perfect to lift up everyone's spirits. Knowing the song by heart Luna sang loudly as Sam provided her voice as well, as they both played their guitars. By the end of the song the two do a duet guitar shred, when it ended, it felt like a shockwave went through the cheering crowd.
Luna raises up her fingers in her signature rock pose along with Sam. "Good night Sanctuary!" The two girls walk backwards, waving to the crowd until they went into the curtain.
Shortly after the rock show, Luan's second skit began. This skit was a parody of the classic scene from IT, when Georgie met Pennywise at the storm drain. Giggles played as Georgie, while Luan played Pennywise who is peeking out from a custom made storm drain.
They reached the scene where Georgie would reached in to get his paper boat, but would instead get his arm ripped off by the monster. Instead of that playing out however, Georgie is too quick for the ancient monster and took the boat out of IT'S hand.
Pennywise stuttered in surprised from the sudden turn of events. Georgie however told him goodbye and ran off to sail his boat somewhere else. After he is fully gone Pennywise let's out an outrage snark of words after IT'S failed attempted of getting a meal.
After the skit, the rest of the show consisted of Luan and Giggles telling jokes, as for the finale of the show, Giggles did her juggling act while playing a horn at the same time.
When Giggles was finished and as crowd cheered very loudly, Luan along with the other members that did their parts for the show stood in a line and bowed to everyone. "Thank you for coming everyone! We hope that we gave you a laughing good time! As you leave to settle in for the night, just remember that no matter how dark things become, there's always someone who will lift your spirits!"
They do another bow to the audience and then walked off back stage with Luan feeling very happy. This has been the best nights of her whole entire life, she made everyone feel good as if the whole disaster never happened, and for Luan that was mission accomplished.
She began to think that this should be a monthly event. She would love to this again and if there were to be another show, then it would be even bigger, grander, and even more funnier.
But after a long show, Luan wanted nothing more to do but rest up and she's positively sure her cast members would like that as well.
